Hi all Can't wait till Wednesday- i can find out what they are at last. DP home on Thursday for a few days. Yesterday I had a horrid pain in my tummy due to harrowing a bumpy field by myself. I know I shouldn't but no-one else can do it. The groom is away on Friday and Saturday so I've got to do 15 horses on my own as well. Luckily most are outside so only need looking at but I still have 4 to muck out!
Cannot believe these mares haven't foaled yet-they are really hanging in there.

LizLemon · 23/04/2009 09:11

morning! glad to know I'm not the only yoga bod. Mine is taught by my usual teacher, who was wondering why she hadn't seen me since before christmas

Maybe those mares are hanging on in sympathy, Neddie.

Snowfalls108 · 23/04/2009 10:57

Hello! Glad to hear that everyone is yogaing up.
Very excited about the scan today, although we're not finding out if it's a blue or pink one. Does anyone know if I should have a full bladder or not?
Daffodil - good luck today.
Yipeee - only 4 and half hours to go, and my Dream Genii is being delivered today.

marymungoandmidge · 23/04/2009 15:57

Minshu- I am 18 weeks and don't always feel very much and if I do - its almost imperceptible...! So know the feeling...I did yoga with my last pregnancy and would love to find a local class, although I think I slept through most of the last course!!!
I finally am feeling a little healthier and starting to bloom a bit - thank goodness. Perhaps I won't be such a grouch with my DH who has been great. I actually feel like there is a bit more get up and go...!!

pebblebeach · 23/04/2009 19:06

Wow Neddie pg with twins and harrowing fields! I hope the mares don't wait too much longer....

Snowfalls please report back on dream genii I am thinking of getting one this time, might be a bit nicer for DH rather than being pushed out of bed by my bump and umpteen pillows .

Looking fwd to hearing scan news, good luck! Last time I wasn't asked to have a full bladder, in fact I had one anyway as they had made us wait so long and it was REALLY uncomfortable when the Dr was pushing down on my bladder with the probe thingy I almost thought I might have an accident

daffodilli · 23/04/2009 19:14

Neddie - really sounds like you could do with an extra pair of hands, I dont know how you do it!

Snowfalls my scan is tomorrow, I was a day ahead of myself yesterday! Hope all was good with yours today x

Minshu - I'm 19+5 and bubs tends to move only at certain times of the day, mostly when I'm sitting, I think I'm squishing him/her, he/she is mostly quiet though. Mum said I hardly moved at all and worried her silly! Laziness kicking in at a very early age..!

Am going to google this Dream Genii (its a pillow right?) as when I wake up I am always on my back and getting a bit paranoid now.

Who mentioned itchy backs????? mine started itching like mad today, out with the aloe vera moisturiser methinks.

Hope everyone is starting to bloom a little now - we deserve it!

daffodilli · 23/04/2009 19:18

Oooh the full bladder! Had forgotten about that, they are REALLY strict with this in my hospital, you MUST have a full bladder otherwise you have to sit outside for 1/2 an hour+ with someone making sure you drink, shudder.....

LJ29 · 23/04/2009 19:33

On the subject of itching - slightly embarrassing - I am really itchy under my boobs!! They are fairly huge and since being pregnant I seem to be growing small skin tags under them as well. I thought it might be just from sweating especially as it gets warmer so have been using talc but its driving my nuts!!!

audreyraines · 23/04/2009 19:51

daffodilli - me re the itchy back. insane! must get dh to massage me rub cream in.

pebblebeach i have the dream genii pillow, it just came today. i tried it out and seems quite comfy, but will report back how tonight's sleep goes. i like that it's a lot more compact than some of the maternity/body pillows on the market, just hope it's as good or even better! we should get some kind of bulk discount for this thread by the sound of it.

i forgot to go to the toilet before i left for the scan on tues, so had to go as soon as i got to the hospital. i then promptly sculled about a litre of water before the appointment - seemed ok. i wasn't actually sure whether i needed to do it or not, but didn't want to be made to wait and drink ...

LizLemon · 23/04/2009 19:58

I've had a dream genii for a week and I love it - I sleep much better with it, though turning over in the night is a bit of an operation

For those that can get to it, the flagship Gap near Selfridges on Oxford St has maternity stuff on sale. I bagged a dress and a cardi for a tenner each and a couple of t-shirts too. Jeans for £15 if they have your size...

how was it Snowfalls?

bigbang · 23/04/2009 20:08

LJ29 I have had really itchy nipples Its embarrassing when you need to scratch! I feel your pain.

Will have to check out the gap, won't be able to make it till next week though and I expect all the good stuff will have gone!

daffodilli · 23/04/2009 20:28

Vaseline is good for itchy nipples! Been using a little bit for a couple of weeks, very soothing. Anyone manage to itch their nipples in public discretely?!

Minshu · 23/04/2009 21:00

Thanks for the reassurance about the movement. My friend with a nearly 3 yo told me that after the first movement, she didn't feel anything for a couple of weeks, so that all makes me feel better.

Yoga was pleasant, but quite scary... Two recent graduates had come in to show off their pink bundles. I was so pleased that I wasn't the only first timer in the class who thought that was quite a frightening reminder of what this is all about. Makes it very real!!

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 21:51

Minshu, is this your first pregnancy? IIRC I was about 22 weeks or so before I felt any movement with dd. Apparently movement is felt much earlier in subsequent pregnacies, that's certainly my experience anyway.

I might have to look into this dream genii thing, I hate to be left out of a craze

Minshu · 23/04/2009 21:55

Yes - my first time, but I'm very impatient . Thanks for the reassurance, TigerFeet.

muffinmum · 23/04/2009 23:59

Hello all, thank you so much, feel v.welcome and really happy after scan today and appt with doc to go thru notes from dds birth.cried again which was really silly but feel fab now.have decided to go for a vbac so giving up my daily cakes and making more effort to go swimming, have ordered book recommended by peachygirl, thanks so much for that.

Found one thing in birth notes to be proud of that i hadnt known before, when i went into hosp i was 7cm dilated and had only had pain for the previous hour so at least i managed that!My notes were more positive and also more frustrating than my memory of the day as i was so close to normal delivery but dds heart rate was slowing with contractions and not recovering and then stopped altogether which is why they sectioned. doc said if that had not been happening then maybe more time may have been enough for her position to move slightly and it all be ok.So have decided to lay 1st birth to rest and concentrate on this one,so silly that just seeing our bambino on the scan makes so much difference to how i feel!

I didnt find out sex but would be suprised if i didnt give birth to sportacus the amount of jumping around that was going on, in the end the scanner had to tip the bed, i was practically doing a headstand before she got the measurements she needed!

Yoga class mentions have reminded me i quite fancied it,very glad mine are not £11 a pop tho, that's outrageous bigbang, bit worried about the wind issue though as my guts have been very active on that front, seeing little sportacus kicking me that hard explains it a bit i guess.

Neddie any foaling news, hope that takes your mind off feeling rubbish, brought back memories of a couple of weeks of trying to sleep stay awake on worst bed ever and peer thru tiny window into a foaling box.

Minshu my preggy brain dreadful!!Had bought some Killers tickets months ago and had in my head concert was 9th may, checked them on saturday and it had been and gone on 9th MARCH.DH was going to be cross but i looked so sad he couldnt.am considering framing them to remind myself i have got preggy brain.Turned up to meet the outlaws in a restaurant easter sat a whole hour late and they'd already ate .

pebblebeach glad we can be the new girls together.

better go as breaking into bed by 11pm rule again!night all

TigerFeet · 24/04/2009 12:39

Hi all, the weather is still glorious here, dd is off school following squint correction surgery on Tuesday but is recovering well so we are getting our money's worth with the sunshine.

I was back at the doctor today, for a repeat stemetil px. Had another drug break this week to see how I got on and it wasn't nice . GP reckons the chances are I could be sick for the duration . I'm so pleased I have found medication that works.

daffodilli · 24/04/2009 15:17

TigerFeet so sorry your still feeling crappy, but glad you've got something that helps xx

Had scan this morning and all ok,was a nervous wreck last night.Luckily bladder was full enough for their exacting standards! Muffinmum bubs was also wriggling like crazy and I had to go for a walk (which is very difficult when you are practically bursting!) to 'shake things up a bit' so she could get the measurements! Bubs did not want to play ball though when it came to taking the pics, and would not look away from my back!

But we found out the sex and its...

...a boy! We saw his little willy as well which was so cute! Sonographer said that she didn't like to guarantee the sex but as it was very obvious that there was 'a little something' between his legs she did! DH very proud.

ladylush · 24/04/2009 15:53

Ooh great news daffodilly Blue ones are lovely

Glad about all the other positive scan results

I too am thinking of getting the dream genii pillow. Does anyone know the cheapest site? I saw one for £39.99 which included a free cover. Is that a good deal?

Gap sale sounds promising though I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it is gone already due to it being late night shopping last night.

ladylush · 24/04/2009 15:54

sorry daffodilli - pregnancy brain

ladylush · 24/04/2009 15:55

Is there anyone else who can't drive/park properly when pregnant? My parking is atrocious when pg, yet quite good at other times.

daffodilli · 24/04/2009 16:19

afraid to say my parking is terrible at all times! especially in the new car which seems HUGE compared to my little micra! can just about drive in a straight line, thats why I drive an automatic, so thats one thing I cant blame pg brain on

ladylush · 24/04/2009 17:00

Lol

TigerFeet · 24/04/2009 17:06

lol daffodilli

My driving/parking used to be fine but we've just swapped my 106 for a bigger car and within 2 days I had dented the rear bumper after reversing into some railings . I distinctly remember struggling to remember how to make the windscreen wipers work when I was pregnant last time... luckily it hasn't rained here for a while so not an issue atm

ladylush · 24/04/2009 17:22

I did something similar in a previous pregnancy - only worse.........I drove forward into a railing I completely forgot it was there (low railing in a car park)
