Hi everyone thanks for your kind words, I feel much much better today ? didn?t really chat it thro with dh last night as things seemed ok, he?s off to Essex today for a meeting (bout 3-4hr drive) so has asked his mum to come over tonight to help me out with bath time so I know he is being thoughtful really, and he did even offer not to go but I know that?s not really an option ? I think the problem is he is just tired and rather than just getting on with it he resorted to being a bit of a child and I wasn?t in any fit state to just give him a hug and say it was ok

littlesarah the positioning stuff should be done from 34 wks so you are starting it at exactly the right time, things like sitting upright the wrong way round on a chair I?ve heard help with positioning and I think the key is to do it as often as possible not just as an ?exercise? iykwim
And thanks in advance for the book no I haven?t bought it I?ve been reading baby books again in some vain hope to get prepared mostly baby whisperer and solve your childs sleep problems (for ds2 who still thinks 3am is a great time to wake up )

choccie hope you?re doing ok, I?m getting cramps and pain at the side of my bump but that?s probably from the sickness as I?ve prob strained everything, it really pulls when I roll over in bed so I hope its gets better soon

mrsmcj glad app went well, sorry to hear you haven?t been well either, its horrible isn?t it, I never had anything like this with either pg and I?ve have 2 nasty d&V bugs this time. Glad book was helpful

Hi everyone else hope you?ve got lovely days planned, another one at work for me but at least it?s the final countdown till I finish!

Naat · 29/04/2009 08:44

Long long long post about to be finished and I managed to touch the laptop's touchpad somehow and erase it all!!

I have to start again now

dreamydowler · 29/04/2009 08:55

Morning everyone. I hope everyone managed a decent nights sleep. Im getting some I think It was my little girls 6th birthday on saturday and she had a huge birthday party with about 26 other 5-6 year olds. Thankfuly all my older children were there to help out with the party games and face painting and setting up the hall and food and clearing away. I was absolutely shattered at the end of the day but it was lovely. Ive had a fair few strong Braxton hicks too this time I think you just need to rest a bit when you get them its your bodys way of telling you youre overdoing it sometimes.
My little boy aged 10 has this dreaded d and v bug at the moment and bless him is being isolated in his bedroom to prevent its spread. I also feel like Ive had everything going this pregnancy and am still being sick most mornings.
Im glad everyones appointments are going well thus far my next growth scan is a week today
Hope everyone has a good day today at least its not raining here at the moment.
Oh well back to cleaning and decluttering the house

Naat · 29/04/2009 09:00

Right, I have 15 min to do this

MrsMc Glad your appt went well and that you're not "doomed" as the private doctor wanted you to believe HOpe you feel better, hon, nausea is a PITA! Glad you found your CD!

Insy I hope your tummy is better today. Glad to hear things are better at home. I understand when you talk about patience in our DHs, mine the other day told me he was building up his as sometimes he felt as if there was none left and he knows this is just the beginning. HOpe your DH's meeting goes well and that you feel better today.

Tee Glad you have almost everything ready for D-day!!! And that you felt better yesterday morning

Blue Hope you get some reassurance soon from your doc re. strep-b

Effie Fingers crossed for a due date at the beginning of June, then! HOpe your SPD isn't acting up too much these days.

Choccie HOpe you had a better night last night and you could catch up on some sleep. Can we "evict" your "friends" if they decided to pack but refuse to leave anyway? No, seriuosly, I hope they leave you for good soon, hon. And yes, friends are priceless at times like these; glad you have some to count on with right now

Laura Hope you had a good rest after carrying your little niece all day yesterday. Don't overdo it, lady!

June I hope your workload is sorted out soon... You sound stressed and thats the least you need right now I'm glad you're enjoying your AN classes and sharing that with DH and LO as that's the best! How are your legs these days?

LittleS Sorry we had to come and go so many times yesterday with the tracks I'll send you the affirmations today. I'll also send you some tips they gave me at Hypnobirthing re. breech babies Don't worry, hon, you still have weeks to go, really.

Daisy poor you! I hope you managed to sleep better last night and catch up on some rest... Please be careful when driving, if you're feeling too tired/low, try not to do it. Really hope you feel better soon.

ermin Brave woman for doing the stairs thing! I would be too afraid to roll down the stairs as I'm so wobbly and my sense of balance is almost completely gone Hope your LO comes into the right position soon

Well, I hope I'm not forgetting anyone now

Yesterday was a very very busy day. Murphy's law was right there when suddenly 3 jobs came up at the same time!!! Why oh why at the same time!!! But well, I organised everything and seemed to be able to accept them (can't afford not to as we need the money so...) but I'm a bit sad at the same time as I thought after the "abrasives" translation I was going to be able to focus almost completely on the dissertation and now I have another long one to do I felt trapped, but well... Getting on with it so as to finish it asap and then finish the dissertation.

HOpe you have a lovely day, Juners!!! Right, 15 minutes over

((((waves)))

helpivegottogivebirth · 29/04/2009 09:53

The hospital just rang me and told me that at 28 weeks my blood sugar level was showing at level 9 and so i may be gestationally diabetic. They send women for more tests if the level is above 7.

I have to go for more blood tests today.

I'm a bit gutted as yesterday i had a scan to make sure my placenta had risen up - it had done - so i could have my baby at a MLU nearby. Now I think those plans may be scuppered.

Has anyone had high sugar levels and then they have gone down again?

June2009 · 29/04/2009 10:52

I was looking for funny pregnancy t-shirts and came across this
Takes a little while to load.

ermintrude13 · 29/04/2009 11:07

lol@ those tees June. Some of them would be useful to flash at people who make unfortunate comments but I'd feel a bit lairy just walking about in one .

helpivegotto - no experience of high sugar I'm afraid, try not to worry and hope another poster can give you some advice.

Naat what a pain getting 3 jobs at once. They're like buses! Can't believe you're doing such demanding work AND doing a dissertation; my brain couldn't cope, even though I know that the first rule of Freelance Club is Never Turn a Job Down!

lauraloo 2 yr olds are heavy! Watch your back (and your front).

dreamy sorry to hear you're still sick - mine is still coming and going, I find that starting the morning with just fruit and then having a piece of toast around 10am is better than having cereal or toast straight away. No idea why - and I still can't eat much in the evening - but it seems to set my digestive system up better.

insy glad things are better with DH. This stuff blows over; approaching D-Day is making everyone a bit stressed.

Finally, for those suffering from acid indigestion/heartburn etc. I saw my GP yesterday about the amount of Gaviscon I was swigging, and especially about waking with heartburn in the middle of the night. He assured me that I can have as much Gaviscon as I need but sympathised with the night waking, so prescribed one 300mg tablet of Ranitidine - which helps indigestion - to be taken at night and last night I only woke up once, for a wee, with no acid or reflux at all. So if you're having trouble sleeping because of heartburn that might be worth discussing with your doctors...

Sunny here, I'm washing the broderie anglaise-trimmed crib dressings my mum made. Looks very Victorian but has survived through the babyhoods of my 2 youngest sisters, my DC and 3 nieces so it has sentimental family value

Tee2072 · 29/04/2009 11:46

Hi All

Absolutely swamped at work today. Interviewed first candidate for my replacement, one more scheduled. Think the first one would suit, but we'll see!!

help I hate to be the one with bad news, but I have never heard of GD just going away. If you have it, you have it until you give birth. Unfortunately, this probably does mean no MLU. Sorry.

naat glad you got more work, too bad it won't be fun!

ermintrude at your sun. Totally cloudy and rainy here.

dreamy sounds like a lovely day, but try to get some rest!!

Hi everyone else!! Have a lovely afternoon!!

Effielou · 29/04/2009 13:09

Hello All!!!

Thanks for the lovely messages!!!

My SPD is very painful, but with the help of sleeping on a doubled over double duvet, painkillers, crutches and a lovely DH- its do-able- although some days I get really down, as its not allowing me to enjoy all of my final pregnancy!!! But I still enjoy the movement and the kids getting excited about their new baby bro or sis! I've joined a local gym and just walk in the pool- and that really helps and being let off the housework- so there is a bonus. lol I'm trying to keep the really strong painkillers as a last resort and sofar this week-its worked x

I just had my 3rd cancellation letter from the hospital- with yet a new date for giving my section date- which is now on the 15th May- so good in some respects- but as I want to keep it a secret and crap at keeping secrets- its bad news. I'm having a bit of fun, as if I was to go into labour naturally- then no-one would know what date it would be and I just want it to be me and DH for the first couple of hours. I wanted this last time- but my Mum was waiting for me as I came out of the theatre- even though she knew what I wanted. So if I tell no-one- barr you lot and whoevers gonna take the kids to school- then no-one gets upset!

How are all the name choices going??- We have finially set on ours- Rupert Edward for a boy. and Neve Emilia Grace for a girl. My other 2 are Imogen and Flynn.

Hope I haven't bored you too much.
Lots of love x

ermintrude13 · 29/04/2009 13:21

Effielou I can completely see why you want to keep the date a secret so that it's just you and DH at first, just like it would be if you went into spontaneous labour. We all moan about our dear mothers on this thread from time to time - if they won't do as they're told then one has to take matters into one's own hands .

I would spell it Niamh, even though it does confuse people

and Bunny I mean to say lol@ the book you recommended yesterday - might buy one for DH!

Effielou · 29/04/2009 13:26

ermintrude13 Mums who'd have them I say to my DD remind me to not be like grannie ( she has bipolar disorder- so all her fault, but still can be a pain). We like the Niamh spelling but my dad can't spell my name let alone that one so trying to be kind-- but we may change our minds xx

xx

bunnymother · 29/04/2009 15:04

Afternoon ladies!!

Having a super day here today - had growth scan and LO is 50th percentile in size and of course, off the charts in gorgeousness (they didn't test that, but I can tell ). So, to be sure that she isn't undersized, just scoffed nibbled a piece of carrot cake .

PLUS I found the hypnobirthing CD. Snap, MrsMcJnr - peace and serenity can reign again. LittleSarah, hope you enjoy the hypnobirthing that Naat sent you. It seems like positive thinking brain washing to me, and I love it. Am ignoring any bad birthing thoughts/stories. Am a resolute Pollyanna.

Also, re Braxton Hicks, I told the sonographer that LO was sticking her bum out and she said "No, you are actually having a BH". Am I the only one to get them confused?? Twas a bit .

Effielou - your names are gorgeous, really beautiful! I think we may have similar taste! My DH is fixed on Amelie and so far, not interested in thinking of other names. You sound v organised to have 3 names sorted! Re Mums, I am limiting myself to say through gritted teeth that mine has resurfaced to send me an email asking when she can come and visit. Obviously an honest answer is out of the question...

Daisy - I'm w Naat - do take care of yourself. You sound exhausted and driving is quite worrying when you are in that state. Hope you can rest up and recharge a bit.

Naat - bummer/great re 3 jobs. So annoying that you so busy, but its hard to resist the cash, isn't it? Am sure you have lots of good things to put it towards too ie baby things bills!

June - great T'shirts!!

Help - good luck with your tests today! Have my fingers crossed for you!

Ermintrude - enjoy the washing. Its just lovely washing their little things, isn't it? The little socks etc are darling, and setting up the bed is fantastic. Am still cooing over the moses basket . And don't think I haven't caught DH doing the same!

Insy - glad everything blown over w your DH. He does sound v sweet to have got him mum to help w bathtime (assuming you actually enjoy her company, that is!!).

Tee - good luck w the interviews. Must be a funny, but great, feeling to be hiring your replacement.

Am thinking that I need to have something nice up my sleeve for DH for the next time I am a cow a little less lovely than normal.

Gosh, this is looong! Hope you are having lovely days, Juners!! ((waves))

MrsMcJnr · 29/04/2009 15:28

Phew! Come on for a sneaky 10 min break whilst DS is ?relaxing? in his cot. I was at soft play with him this morning and then out with my Mum and am now truly shattered. I got 3 pairs of new shoes though ? lovely summery sandals in gold and silver with lots of bling, they?ll probably last 2 mins with all the walking I do but they were only 10 euros each so I can?t expect too much! Downside is that the brake on my bugaboo snapped today the wire is totally frayed so it must be from over use but it?s a nuisance to have to get it fixed and I don?t know how to start going about it. I know I have the double buggy to start using in a few weeks but I still see a great need for my trusty bugaboo snapped at my Mum because she said it was ridiculous how many bags I have packed for the hospital and did I have their permission to take all I have ? I don?t think I have that much, I have just divided it up into little bags because from experience I know that that was far easier than one big one that might not fit under your hospital bed. I?ll see how you all are now?.

Effielou · 29/04/2009 15:41

Hello

Bunnymother Thanks for the comments on the names we've had odd looks from people when we mention Rupert but we like it, DD loves it as shes a mad Harry Potter fan and Ron is really a Rupert and with red hair ( Both kids and DH are redheads)
Mothers mine text haven't returned as yet!!
And you have enlightened me to BH as my babys bum seems to sick out and everything goes hard but maybe it is a BH!! They happen often.

My friend scared me earlier, as she said my bump looks like its dropped!!! Not sure whether it happens so soon in 3rd baby- but and an odd sensation "down below" yesterday- and head is down!!!

Best get bag packed soon-- just in case!!!

Hope you are all having a great afternoon xx

MrsMcJnr · 29/04/2009 16:00

Littlesarah ? I hope you got some sleep last night after all your worrying

Lauraloo ? take it easy you! You are not used to lifting a 2yr old so it could be too much for you. I have slept better the last 2 nights having listened to that CD

Insy ? hope you are feeling a lot better and am glad things are better in the Insy household today DH and I often have similar squabbles, the times when it was just the 2 of us aren?t really that long ago and sometimes you miss the time you had as a couple and alone. It?s hard to run on empty. I loved the Baby Whisperer, very insightful and helped me a lot with DS who as a tiny babe got over stimulated by everything, if I hadn?t read that book I don?t think I would have worked out why he wouldn?t settle.

Naat ? how annoying losing your post don?t work too hard hon.

Dreamy ? wow, that was some party you gave for your DD, what a Mum sorry to hear about DS, hope he gets over it soon.

Help ? was that the O?Sullivan test that was high? The one where you have one glucose drink? Mine came back (at 28 weeks) as 148 and the normal range is 70-110 (don?t know about levels I?m afraid) so they sent me for the GTT which meant 3 glucose drinks and 4 blood tests over 5 hours and my results came back as within the normal range. Hope you get good results hon. I?m sure Tee will be over to help you

June ? some good ones there, I like the no touching the bump ones, why do people think they can do that??? It feels odd to me when my Mum wants to or am I just being mean?

Ermintrude ? good tip re breakfast, I might try that. The crib dressings sound gorgeous such a lovely good luck token too knowing how many happy healthy babies have used them.

Hey Tee ? good luck with the interviewing!

Effielou ? poor you, does sound like you have a bad case of SPD great attitude though! Hope you manage to keep D Day a secret and get that private time alone with DH, it?s so precious! I like your names I have a godson called Rupert our DD will be Aaliyah Rosemary no back ups so I hope there aren?t too many others with that name but then again ?! My MIL is bipolar too, I understand the issues Everyone I meet has an opinion on my bump at the mo, either it has or it hasn?t dropped. Like you, I had a strong feeling the day of our move (3 weeks ago) that the head was engaging but thankfully the pressure eased and now although in a good position, her head is not engaged. I?d like a few more weeks to get organized!!

Bunny ? great news on the scan I get confused re BH and movements all the time when I was monitored at the hospital the other day the lower figure was going from 5 up to 12 and I am sure from memory that that records contractions so there must have been some going on but I thought they were movements LOL about your Mum?s email. Why can?t people understand that the next few weeks are very unpredictable for us???

June2009 · 29/04/2009 16:16

Bunny and Effie (I love all the names you picked btw!) mmmm, I think I must be getting BH as well then, the top of my bump gets hard from time to time and I always assume that was the baby's bum or foot or something.
The beautician (who'd never seen me before) also said that my bump has dropped, bit scary. (I like my bump).
Mw should tell me next week whether baby is head down or not. I know she was at the last scan a month ago but probably moved since then.

We went to mothercare today to pick up a ligth dressing gown and some pjs this afternoon and some bits and bobs and I think my labour bag is done. Mothercare had some kind of half price sale on selected clothes, barely worth mentionning though.

What nappies are you guys getting and how many??
We got a free huggies newborn pack and I bought some pampers newborn and some sainsburys "little ones", all in all probably 100 nappies.
I want to find an offer somewhere, like a buy one get one free and get some more in.

How many times do newborn need to get changed per 24 hours? I'm estimating around 7 times from the AN classes?
In that case I'd be all right for about 10 days, pfft, that's a lot of nappies, maybe I will reconsider the re-usable ones...

Effielou · 29/04/2009 16:31

June2009 Depends on how many times babie poo's to how many nappies & sounds good but you can never tell!! Nighttime- I just change if poo'd or really full, as if slightly damp- then no need to disturb too much but you will know whats right when the time comes and your baby will tell you if he/she doesn't like being damp!!

MrsMcJnr I love your name too- never heard it before- even if someone else chooses it then still go ahead- as if thats the one you've set your heart on, then it would be a shame to change it- and you may regret it later!! I tell people my choices- if they are preggars too and a few others ( i get it in first ) so if they choose it too, then they know it was my choice as well- hope that makes sense!!!

I'm soo glad I have joined here, as I had joined a few others, which were soo unfriendly!! Thanks for making e feel welcome xx

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 29/04/2009 16:57

Hello all. I haven't caught up for ages, so this one's a long one.

All good here in the chocolate camp. My SPD was horrendous on Mon and Tues but seems to have calmed down a bit today. I was seriously worried as I was so crippled by it last pregnancy, I was thinking that that was it. However, today is better and I'm just going to take it easy this week and hope that it stays at this level.

DS is also cutting his back molars and is also feeling a little sorry for himself!

Anyway, enough about me, here goes:

Blueberry - Sorry to hear about your cramps, hope the tonic water helps. I think I?m a day off your due date and I haven?t put as much weight on this time. It does help running after a toddler all day!

MrsMcJ - Hope you are feeling recovered now and that the sickness behaves itself. Glad to hear that your placenta has moved too. Yey! I?m also pleased that the scan went well, even if LO is a little bigger than your dates. As for the paper gowns, surely you can wear what you bloody well like! Sorry about your mum?s comments. My mum also seems to say the wrong thing. I also have loads of bags, one for labour, one for hospital if I have to stay longer than a few hours, one for LO and one for DS to take with him to nana?s. I agree that it?s easier to separate them as DH can take the labour one home when he leaves. Sorry to hear about your Bugaboo too . My friend?s spent loads on hers since she?s had it, mainly the tyres I think.

Doris - Hope your DH gets to run his marathon next year. DH is still aching after Sunday. Someone told hi the other day that it can take 6 weeks for your body to recover from a marathon ? a bit like giving birth I suppose (shhhh.... don?t tell him I said that!). I hope that you are getting more sleep. Hope the BH sort themselves out soon. Mine are quite intense at times. I know they?re not the real thing tho?, but still bloody uncomfortable!

Tee - Hope you are feeling better now. Sounds like you are getting lots of sleep, which is great. You sound like you?re getting really organised!

Naat - How?re you doing? Hope you got the translation out of the way, even if three more came along at once. I hope you get onto your dissertation soon. I?m very that you are multi-lingual. My dream is to be fluent in another language.... I hope that your LO holds on for your flat move and lets you get settled a bit before s/he arrives!

choccie - I?m getting uncomfortable too. The baby seems to be doing strange stretches and they are really painful. The worst is when he pushes against my bladder or the ?exit? . They have me gasping for breath! I hope your ?friends? leave you well alone soon!

bigcar - hope the hospital went okay.

tibsy - How cute is your DD. My DS keeps putting his hand on my tummy absentmindedly while watching TV or reading ?just to cuddle the baby? it?s so cute, isn?t it!?

June - hope the swelling sorts itself soon. My hands are swollen in the morning, but seem to calm down throughout the day. I really feel for you, it must be so horrible. Try not to panic about work. It?s amazing what you can put up with once the LO is here.

Moor and Effielou - Hello there! I also suffer from SPD Effie. I was chronic with DS (wheelchair / crutches job) but it?s a bit better this time round. You have my sympathies, it is truly awful. I?ve had a couple of horrendous days Mon and Tues, bit today seems to have eased off a bit. I agree that the pool really helps. I?ve got ?dunk your bumps? later and it just feels great to let something else take the strain of the bump for a while....

bunny - Fabulous news about the growth scan. My LO was on the 50th for everything at the scan on Mon, everything that is except head circumference which was large. DS was the same and I didn?t seem to notice last time so I?m not too worried.

LittleSarah - Hope that the dissertation is going okay. Sorry to hear about LO being breech. I know that they can even turn in labour, so I would try not to worry at this stage. I know that?s easier said than done though!

ermintrude - Good luck with the floor scrubbing! If it doesn?t work, at least you?ll have pristine floors! Thanks for the tips on heartburn. I see to wake up around 12-1 am and have three spoons of Gaviscon and then go back to sleep. That seems to sort it out. Will definitely get to the docs if it gets any worse for some of those tablets.

laura - My SPD is raging at the moment. Sorry to hear that your hips are so painful too. I had a terrible day on Monday and Tues, today doesn?t seem too bad. Trying not to do too much as I tend to overdo it when I feel a bit better. I hope that your hips improve soon.

Daisy - Sorry to hear about the lack of sleep. I?m also a nightmare with very little sleep and get so clumsy / forgetful / tearful. Poor DH! It doesn?t bode well for those early days when this little one?s here! I hope your headache improved.

insy - Sorry to hear that you?ve been so poorly recently. I hope you are well on the mend now.

Dreamy - Glad to hear the party went well. Sorry to hear about your DS. There?s nothing worse than a D&V bug .

HelpIvegottogivebirth - Sorry to hear about your sugar levels. Tee will have lots of good advice if you have got GD. She?s the expert!

Naat · 29/04/2009 17:08

Right, I'm taking a break from work now

help I hope the tests today went well.

tee good luck at the "replacement" hunting

June those t-shirts are so funny! Re. nappies, I'm with you there, at a loss Good to have experienced mums here! Yay! Your bag is ready!!

Ermin so glad you seem to have nailed the heartburn issue Yay for you!

Effie your SPD is so bad! But as MrsMc said, your attitude is great! Glad you have help around, that is soooo important. As Ermin said, we sometimes have let's-complain-about-our-mothers sessions MrsMc put it so well!! Why can't they get these last weeks are so unpredictable! Lovely names, we're at a loss still, too many going around, DH seems to like a different one each week! I'm glad you like our thread

Bunny you had a great scan today! Enjoy your cake, lady! Yes, the money will come in handy for sure! Esp. as this last one is a long job, about 120 pages long so... Timing timing timing, that's all I complain about Lovely names!!!

MrsMC Sorry about your bugaboo I'm sorry your mum was not very nice to you today. I'm sure if mine lived near me, she'd say things like that ALL THE TIME... thankfully Skype doesn't show that much Don't feel bad, though! You pack your bags the way you want! Lovely name as well!! I think I'm the only one at a loss re. names!!

Right, work work work for me over here, although I've done quite a lot, I've translated almost half of the long translation (I've finished the two short ones and deliverd one as well) Phew!! My brain will be toasted by 6pm, I think

Some BH as well here... my bump goes as hard as a rock for some minutes

We're sooooo close, ladies!!!! I can't believe the day after tomorrow I'll be on week 34!! (panic attack emoticon)

((((waves))))

ermintrude13 · 29/04/2009 17:27

Naat and June - re nappies, depending on the size of your LO s/he might not be in newborn size for long so it's best not to get too many in. 7 changes a day sounds a lot to me and I think the first batch you have, June, will last longer than you think, and then you can assess whether you need size 1. Don't forget, the shops will be open and you can always send someone to get some more for you!

I've got some Naturebaby ones and some of Sainsbury's eco ones, just to start us off, and then will be on to the washables as soon as I feel up to it - thought I'd better ease us into those gently...

My bump's been tightening occasionally for ages too - and sometimes I think it is associated with baby stretching but maybe other times it is BH. I remember them as being much stronger but perhaps they build up as we go along.

Don't want to tempt fate, but it does feel as if the baby is now vertical rather than transverse - maybe that leaning down the stairs did the trick. fingers crossed...

Tee2072 · 29/04/2009 17:49

Hi All

I have read everyone but just don't have the energy to respond! Really really long tiring day at work and tomorrow and Friday will be worse.

Glad everyone sounds like they are doing well.

I'll try to catch up tomorrow!!

loooouise · 29/04/2009 18:05

Hello ladies, warm wishes to you all, sorry i've been awol, it's taken a while to readjust from my friend's death.
I found the funeral surprisingly comforting and we buried her the next day in Richmond, after which we sang songs and told stories about her and had a picnic. It still hasn't sunk in to be honest, but we have to concentrate on looking after her husband now.

A few days later, I hosted a baby shower, which I had thought about cancelling, but I'm jolly glad I didn't, as it really helped me refocus on the joy of new life ahead.

Going to settle down to catch up with all your posts now before my first NCT class!

OOOOH, just ONE quick thing I want to tell you...I have a very generous friend who has been deservedly successful in her professional field and she gave me the most thoughtful present EVER at the shower....(wait for it ladies). For 30 days of my choice, I will have THREE meals per day delivered to my door prepared by a top nutritionist! There is even a special menu for nursing mothers! Isn't that just the BEST present for a glam single mum to be?? Sorry to boast, but honestly, I was struck dumb! She'll be hiring me gigolos next!

Hi everyone. Blimey there are a lot of long posts on here. You are all so great at responding to everyones individuals posts that you put me to shame.

I unfortunately am so bloody tired right now that I cannot contribute the same responses but just wanted to say a quick hello.

Yes, friends still here.
No, didn't get any sleep again last night
I am hanging on a thread during the afternoons with dcs. Really bad that I don't have the energy to take them out for a runaround.

Called Dr again today. Now have to take Liquid Paraffin as well as laxatives as the laxatives alone were not taking effect.
Also going to collect precription this evening as now have a bladder infection as well

Littlesarah - sorry to hear baby is breech but try not to worry too much. Looks like there are a few MNers on here that are giving you good advice.

Would like to respond to everyone but I am too much of a jelly head right now and by the time I feel right again I fear I will be lost.....sorry everyone.

looouise - Glad you are beginning to adjust, you sound very strong. That is indeed a fabulous-o pressie! Someone is a lucky lady indeed!

Naat and June - Nappies, I agree with ermintrude about not buying too many. I am spending a fair amount on them as I'm getting a load of Tot bots Bamboozle reusables but if you're using disposables it isn't that important to stock up.

Went to yoga today and teacher not as helpful as expected on the breech front (she is lovely though), she said 'that's quite a long way to turn' when I told her where baby was! Urgh.

June ? if the baby was head down at your last scan it should still be, the head being the heaviest part, fingers crossed I am a Pampers girl (or Dodot as they are here) through and through, we have never had leaks with them as I have with other makes, I always go back to Pampers. The supermarkets in the UK especially Tesco Online were great for offers. I think from memory between 7-5 nappies a day for the early weeks. I have bought 4 packets of size 1 to start me off. Size 1 goes up to 5kgs or 11 pounds and DS didn?t weigh that until he was 11 or 12 weeks so I used a lot of them last time. He was 7lb8 at birth so an average weight really.

Thanks Effielou I have only shared my name online, in real life we haven?t told anyone as people always offer unwanted opinions it seems. My DS is Xavier and we still had lots of comments about that even when we presented him already named! Glad you are feeling welcome here it is a lovely thread and a great means of support ? stick with us!

Ineedmore ? hope the SPD stays manageable for you! It?ll all be over soon! your poor DS how sweet about him cuddling the baby, my DS slaps my tummy , I have counted my DS?s teeth today and he has 16 so the back molars are left to come have to say my Bugaboo has been fabulous to date and it does a hard shift each day so I can?t really grumble I just hope it isn?t too hard to get it fixed. I?ve emailed Bugaboo and will wait to hear what they suggest. Sounds like your baby is pretty low in your pelvis, I wonder if you?ll be the first to pop?! Glad to hear all was well at your scan.

Looouise ? so sorry about your friend I was AWOL when it happened so couldn?t offer any comfort to you the funeral sounded special and I am glad you went ahead with the baby shower. What a fabulous present from your friend! I am green with especially as I still haven?t cooked any meals for the freezer?! What a fabulous idea how are you feeling? How is bump?

Oh Choccie poor, poor you
