Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

Juw - lol at you singing contraction song on your ball

Springy - well i have to say dh was very good with my clothing suprise the other day ... so probably a gift box from lush will do or flowers, a teddy bear or maybe something from the hello kitty MAC range. if i was fully fit however i would be cashing in on my spa day promise

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 20:15

Cor, Smutts, you don't want much do you?

PuzzleRocks · 17/03/2009 20:16

Electra - Good for you. Stick to your guns, they can't deny you a homebirth. When I changed midwife (for being a rude and incompetent cow) I spoke to the Head of Midwifery directly. I phoned PALS who asked her to contact me and she assigned me a new lovely and highly professional midwife immediatly. It might be worth also doing that while you wait to hear from the Chief Exec.

I was in a ProCook shop which was closing down a couple of months ago & got so overexcited I thought I'd go into very early labour. I've heard of this mythical Lakeland, but refuse to look at the catalogue because I'll just be broken hearted

& Ju, my toaster will kick your toaster's ass.

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 20:17

Best of luck mumble - tis a very tricky business. DDs name isn't very 'usual' either which kind of sets a precedent and rules out a lot of other names which would sound odd next to hers.

Although some distant relatives of mine called their 1st something completely way out there and their second a top 10 name. Always makes me .

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:17

Springy - would love to borrow your contractions for a bit feel free to send them my way

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 20:18

What about a bunch of flowers like this - perfect for new Mums!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:19

Juw - i like to give dh options

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 20:19

Nutty, you can get away with that because you're an incubator and have a DD running around. I still think I deserve something for being an incubator, although I think a spa day would be pushing it

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 20:20

Springy - it is full of every kitchen gadget you could never need. Things so random you would never have thought of them (e.g. green rubber breastpad-type egg poachers...) guaranteed to clutter up your kitchen and gather dust.

Back in the days when I rented and used to move house every few months I found that every single flat I lived in had an egg slicer. I have never ever used one.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:20

Juw - they are very sweet

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 20:21

Go on Springy, go to Lakeland, you know you want to. All you have to do is press this little link.

I remember discovering Lakeland at the Good Food Show at the NEC many years ago. Everything was very Delia's Summer Collection, lots of terracotta dishes.

My toaster is far too classy to engage in fisticuffs with yours. She will just rise above it, and sit there being chic.

(Oh dear, it appears my toaster is a she...)

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 20:21

That's pretty cute, Ju - but I reckon we should be allowed stuff for us!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:23

Springy - why dont you ask for some cool cookwear??

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 20:23

Noooo, I shall resist! I shaaall!

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 20:23

Those babywear bouquets are pretty good actually. We received 2 or 3 when DD was born. The clothes were usually in size 1-3 months so you get to enjoy the 'blooms' for a bit before you start plucking them to put on your baby.

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 20:25

I think I'd just get raised eyebrows if I asked for anything. I don't think I'm considered to be a mother yet. Of course if it was father's day that was imminent, that would count

mathsmummy27 · 17/03/2009 20:26

my toaster is a grotty old slutbag, who will 'ave yours no trouble. so there

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:26

Springy - instead of a spa maybe get like a pamper basket full of lovely spa type stuff then your dh could pamper you at home?? you could then progress to nice oiled up incubatorsMothers day nookie

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 20:27

Springy I think you should get a little extra pampering for mother's day. Even if it's just an extra long soak in the bath followed by a massage from DH.

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 20:28
  • great minds Nutty.
PuzzleRocks · 17/03/2009 20:28

BB - of your milkshakes and chocolate array.

Kaz - Sounds like you have a pair of smart little ones there.

Nutty - I can't wait until DD can make me a card. She pulled my top up this morning and said I love you Mummy. Fatty fatty belly.

Ju - You snitch!

My toaster is just beautiful. I love her. She is a gorgeous 4 slicer, but with totally independent controls for each half. She's phwoar-worthy.

& Nutty, I wouldn't trust him to choose anything sensible with that. A nice bunch of flowers or something would do. Just some sort of indication of appreciation

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:28

Springy - put a huge red circle round mothers day!!!

lol at toaster wars loving the fact that your toaster is a grotty old slutbag Mathsmummy lol

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 20:30

Oh Puzzle your DD has made me all weepy.
