Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

Hi all

busy day in the office today! I cannot WAIT to leave, I am so over the grrrrr.

Boffin, your hair is lovely. It is gorgeous and flowing and is making me reconsider the severe little cut I was thinking of having. (My hair is having one of those rare days when it behaves so I might let it stay on my head for now.)

Springy, sorry to hear about your friend. Remember you are just a counsellor and have no resonsibility in decision making, even if she is not thinking clearly. I am sure you know all this.

My baby is such a rumbunctious little puppy today. It feels so solid and strong, I hope this means it is healthy and robust.

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 17:31

You shouldn't have to spend your pocket money! Your surgery, the internet or possibly NHS direct may be able to provide a list of NHS dentists in your area.

And obviously you can have some painkillers in pregnancy. I didn't have my crown without the aid of some drugs but they are careful what they use and keep ti to small doses / short periods of time. There are also issues with the position you lie in. My dentist was rather paranoid about the position of the chair. Also first time round he made the crown out of something which shouldn't hurt the baby. It stained yellow when I had a curry so I went back and asked for one made out of proper non-staining stuff!

It did DD no harm at all.

Bleuravin · 19/03/2009 17:39

having a little trouble with finding proper confirmation.. I'll just make some calls tomorrow and see what I find out. Thanks!

Bleuravin · 19/03/2009 17:41

as in my online search was not coming up with confirmed NHS dentist results...

Bleuravin · 19/03/2009 17:45

Right new question to occupy people with... I'm cooking up a whole chicken tonight and half is going for sandwich meat and half for supper tonight probably... But what,if anything, besides soup (I already have 2 different types of chicken soup in freezer) can I do with the bits that are always leftover? And why has someone not come up with a website which can tell you just this sort of thing? ...oooh possible new website for me to design...hmmm..

AuldAlliance · 19/03/2009 17:46

Stovies?

AuldAlliance · 19/03/2009 17:49

There are wbesites about everything apparently!

Another one

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 17:51

cook up some veggies (mushrooms, leeks etc... make a white sauce. Put veggies and sauce and chicken in dish with layer of shortcrust over the top. Chicken pie

bronze · 19/03/2009 17:52

dh makes a horribly gunky and extremely unhealthy dish with lashings of mayo, chicken spring onions and ready salted crisps

My latest is ds2 has now got the d&v bug. I want to cry. this morning after mil offering the cleaner I actually felt like I could slow down and maybe think about having this baby now its a feeling of dread again.

tristaleejac · 19/03/2009 17:58

bronze sorry you're feeling down, how old is ds2? Is he able to get to loo himself or are you having to help him? Hopefully it'll be the 24 hour bug and will be over before you know it

bronze · 19/03/2009 17:59

hes 4 so only semi reliable

tristaleejac · 19/03/2009 18:01

What a shame for the pair of you. You have my sympathies totally!
Hope you don't get it too

Bleuravin · 19/03/2009 18:03

oh gosh you guys are good...but I forgot to mention Dh won't eat mayo or dressing type stuffs... but I may be able to make the pie...

tristaleejac · 19/03/2009 18:05

Just had to go to shop for chicken flavour crisps cos I REALLY wanted them. But as my tea was cooking I left them for after tea. Now I've had my tea I don't bloody well want them. How annoying.

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 18:06

Ooooh Bronze - sympathies. That is grim. DH, DD and I kept taking it in turns going down with a lurgy like that through Dec / Jan this winter. Aside from the actual process of caring for people there is all the extra laundry it generates.

Hope it passes quickly and no-one else gets it. I went a bit loopy steralising everything in sight in an effort to sop it getting passed on (didn't help much).

Bleuravin · 19/03/2009 18:07

Oh poor you and LO, bronze hopefully it passes quickly. Can you make a bed up (on a pastic blow up mattress) closer to the bathroom for this evening? It may make it a little more 'fun' for LO -and get him faster to the toilet when necessary -even though it's terribly trying.

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 18:09

Bleu if you have enough ingredients make two pies - one for now, one for the freezer. If I ever faff about with pastry I make sure I do extra for the freezer.

If Ju were around she might be able to suggest some sort of pasty type item (probably similar to the pie, but folding pastry circle in half rather than over a dish?)

Claireykitten · 19/03/2009 18:14

Well we have just got back from the hospital and it is official , I have an awkward little breech baby! We were given the choice of ECV or elective c-section and so far have opted for ECV which is booked in for next Thursday. I am now feeling really teary and scared regarding the risks etc and just to top that off due to the fact that we werent given that much info about the procedure apart from that it is successful in 50% of cases I have read a couple of bits about the procedure on the tinterweb and all of them have stated that there is a much higher chance of it failing if baby has its legs straight up in front of it and guess how my baby is lying!! I am now starting to wonder if I have made the right decision and could do with some reassurance and advice.

I also seem to have fixated on the mention of it possibly resulting in an emergency section and am freaking out about that as well.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/03/2009 18:18

Springy - lol you will be coming with me!! sod visiting lol at starfish

BB - i hope your mil is right xx

Lulu - hooray for finishing touches going in!! how exciting!!

bronze - sorry about your ds

bronze · 19/03/2009 18:20

I've stuck him in a nappy and given him a big bucket to aim for. Hes gone to sleep which is a sure sign with mylot that they feel terrible bless him. On a brighter note ds1 has perked up and wanted dinner so he'll be back at school on monday. I have my cons appointment tuesday so I really need everyone to be well so I can go to that.
Thanks people its nice to have somewhere to have a little winge

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/03/2009 18:23

Clairey - ((hugs)) xx fingers crossed that your bambino decides to turn within the next few days, there is still a possibility?

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 19/03/2009 18:24

Claireykitten I know it's scary but try not to worry - we had an ECV with DS and it was totally straightforward. Sometimes they're a bit more complicated, but you can tell them to stop whenever you like. Also, if the baby becomes distressed then yes they will have to do a section, but that's a REALLY small risk, they'll stop if there's any chance the baby is upset and it's only if it continues to be distressed that you'd have to have an emergency section.

I can tell you the procedure if you like, just say the word. But honestly, try not to worry!
