Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

Aww, I'm almost teary with pride for DS. Nursery were so nice when I asked for help getting him to nursery (I can't do the walk anymore, too sore) and they very quickly bypassed the referral system and organised a lift for him. He's just been picked up for the first time. I had warned him about it a couple of days ago and he was quite excited about it. However although he was fine with things just now, smiling and waving from the car, I could see he was nervous about it. So proud of him for being strong while he's a wee bit unsure of things. He'll be fine I know he will.

Schulte · 19/03/2009 13:08

Ohhhh Trista bless your DS how sweet!

Right, good news of the day is that my MW phoned to say she'd finally sourced a HiP form for me so am off now to pick that up before it has a chance to get lost! See you later.

tristaleejac · 19/03/2009 13:09

Hi springy - that must have been hard, trying to be supportive when you're in the total opposite situation. Hope you're feeling ok x

tristaleejac · 19/03/2009 13:10

Go schulte! Grab that form! Shoooowwww meeee the moneeeeeyy!!!

surprisenumber3 · 19/03/2009 13:21

Thanks everyone, I will just have to look after myself if he doesn't get it. Tonight I will cook dinner for me and the DS's and then he will realise that you do actually have to go to the shops to get food and the fairies don't just bring it!

Trist, that's brilliant about your DS, what a little star

I sent my HiP form off about 4 weeks ago but they're not paying it til April are they?

tristaleejac · 19/03/2009 13:24

No as they're only just starting it, 1st payments not til April. Mum's after that will get paid a bit quicker as scheme will be up and running.

bronze · 19/03/2009 13:25

which is mad because its health IN pregnancy not after. Not that I'm saying I don't want it.

Hello

The weather here is gorgeous. DD is now napping peacefully after wearing herself out visting the ducks and larking in the garden. My house is clean and tidy, all errands have been run and there is a cottage pie in the fridge for later.
I have everything I need from my homebirth checklist. I even managed to source the correct screwdriver head needed for a bit of car maintenance, thanks to Dadsnet.

Glaskham - Wonderful to hear little Ruby is home and doing well. She is gorgeous. Your other two look like poppets as well.

Only Nutty would have a consultant called Dr Ballbag, sorry Scrottum.

Schulte - hooray for hip form xx

Trista - awwww your ds is a cutie

Springy - oooohhhh ((big hugs)) what a tricky situation xxx you ok?

Puzzle - i know!!

PuzzleRocks · 19/03/2009 13:36

Bronze - Bless your MIL.

Kali - Great news about your pelvis.

Surprise - You are doing way too much. Time for serious chat with DH, he needs to understand how tough it is for you.
I don't mean to sound horrible but your friends who are having every whim catered for will find it terribly difficult when they are home alone with a newborn. You at least know what it's like to cope with a tough workload so it will be water off a ducks back.
Sending you hugs.
