Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

I don't have any proper cravings like that. I think I'm glad.

& yeah, you make a fair point. Petrol station flowers aren't going to please anyone. I'd accept the Dairy Milk, though. Or Creme Eggs. Oh God, Creme Eggs... Mmmmm. We should get fancy breakfasts in bed, I reckon. With pain au chocolats & pancakes

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 20:45

They don't half bully me, LuLu Night night xx

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:45

PuzzleRocks · 17/03/2009 20:46

I think I had better give DH some attention. Laters foxy ladies.

Thanks Juw

ah i would be happy with anything but dh likes to have a nudge in the right direction so i leave lists lying around

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 20:51

At least he takes the hint

& I think we know what kind of 'attention' Puzzle means. Or at least we should, but nobody seems to realise that she's FILTH. FILTH, PEOPLE. SHE'S TOTAL FILTH!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:51

@.....@....@@@.....@@@@.....@...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:52

well the clue was in Puzzles post i just thought i would leave it there

conkertree · 17/03/2009 20:53

hmm need to look at that lakeland site - have a voucher from christmas that i havent used yet - not sure an egg slicer will be used here either though, although with 3 chickens, we have lots of eggs.

congratulations babypringle - great news. so pleased that you were able to keep it as non interventiony as possible.

at mw today - second finding of glucose in urine (had it two weeks ago as well) so getting blood tests for glucose. made the mistake of googling gestational diabetes and am now quite depressed about it all. have to wait at least a week if not two to get results as well so has put a bit of a dampner on the whole last few weeks of being pg.

anyway - great news as well about shows and engaging for others.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:55

YAY CONKER!!! you came back we though we scared you off with all the smutt yesterday (sorry about that)

((hugs)) for the glucose xx hopefully it will be fine though i cant say i know much about it xx

conkertree · 17/03/2009 20:57

no not scared off at all (although I am a dull squeaky clean type ) - just had a rubbish day what with the midwife and ds being frankly a pain in the backside and so cant get online for long enough to chat really unless he's in bed and dh is at work.

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 20:57

Conker - I had an oral glucose tolerance test and the results for that were available same day. Bloods will be processed same day, so you should be able to contact the antenatal unit for them much sooner than 1-2 weeks.

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 20:59

Also, Kaz developed gestational diabetes, but she was able to do just diet control.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 20:59

lol Conker thats what all the naughty girls say

sorry for your rubbish MW, its a bit pants that they cant get the results back sooner, how many weeks are you now?

conkertree · 17/03/2009 21:07

i think the results will be back sooner its just the midwife isnt back at work till Tuesday and will phone me if the hospital has sent the results back by then, but if not, she will chase them up before my appointment the next week - the midwives I see are ones based at a different hospital from the one I'll be going to, and so she said the ones at the hopsital might phone me instead if they get the results - its all a bit of a mess here for who you see when because most people here go to Glasgow, and only a few go to Stirling.

I think I will only have the full glucose tolerance test if the blood tests come back positive but she said the amount in urine was pretty high so wouldnt be surprised if also in the blood. But she also said cause I'm 34 weeks now, any effect on the baby would probably already have happened, so it would mostly just be to keep an eye on it once it is born, and during the birth.

Just wonder how much time there will be once results get back to make diet changes (dont think i have that bad a diet anyway) etc before the baby is actually due.

sorry long post. will have a look on other threads for specific discussions.

Schulte · 17/03/2009 21:10

What's a nappy cake please?

Schulte · 17/03/2009 21:14

Oh okay, I just looked them up. Really, the ideas people come up with.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 21:26

Conker this site may help??

conkertree · 17/03/2009 21:32

thanks smutty - guess i will just try to avoid eating anything that would make blood sugar jump around for the next couple of weeks and hope that helps - will read up on low GI foods etc.

dh is home tomorrow so hopefully will get a bit of a rest from ds (feel bad saying that but he really was annoying today)

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 21:49

Conker - dont feel bad we all have days where our kids do our heads in however lovely they usually are hope you do manage to get some rest xx

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 21:54

Good evening.

I so love DH. He came in from work at 9.15 having left the house at 7.10 this morning, and was instructed to pump up the birthing pool immediately. This thing is possibly larger than our car, so it takes devotion.

He was about to do this via foot pump, but then cleverly assembled a Heath Robinson solution comprising a 12v airbed filling device you plug in your car's cigarette lighter, which we had in the back of the garage somewhere, which he then niftily connected to a car battery charger (also 12v). He then managed to get it to pump itself up electrically in 15 minutes instead of 2-3 hours of slog.

That man is brilliant (Physics A Level possibly helped a bit though).

He then did something whizzy with the new hose and adaptor so tomorrow we will be able to fill it up in half the time it normally takes, before the engineer removes the old boiler. Then I am ready for a slightly early birth.

We can still have a little bit of an evening, talking to each other over the top of the birthing pool.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 21:55

Boffin - fabulous!! clever dh you got there
