Sorry clicked the wrong button...

to finish my sentence, i feel all lightheaded and have to sit down after about 5 mins standing on the spot. Anyway, my googling showed that some pg women have BP of 80/40 and the like, so my 90/60 isn't that low.

Belgianchocolates · 09/03/2009 20:51

pula I struggled with the mid pregnancy dizziness with my 1st pregnancy. I often had to sit down while walking somewhere and put my head between my knees to get the blood to flow back to my head! It tends to go once you hit the end of your pregnancy due to the physiology of it all. (Wont go into it, too complicated this late at night!)

I had a student MW in my appoinment the other day, and she was lovely. Much better than the qualified one... because she was asking the qual MW questions, I was learning loads.

I also get lots of student nurses on placements with me - aaaah bless, they have to learn sometime - although I can understand if they are rubbish!

I feel like a right fat pig this evening

Belgianchocolates · 09/03/2009 21:23

sausagen so do I. I've eaten too much rubbish tonight

Dandy that's good that your bp went down, like it's supposed to. Just don't be surprised it'll go back up again later Hopefully for you it wont go up too much.

Right, I think I'll move myself to the sofa now to watch a bit of TV, so I wont be back here tonight

Goodnight everyone, especially those of you with dcs who aren't sleeping well lately

Jennster · 09/03/2009 21:26

polony 'twas my birthday yesterday, and I had a glass of champagne on Saturday night. I wish it had been a Caipirinha though.

Am absolutely goosed atm. Not sure I'm going to last another 5 weeks at work. Yoga was good today though.

God, am watching that programme about surrogacy on channel 4. Am quite shocked and currently crying my eyes out at the american woman with the twins

Jennster · 09/03/2009 21:45

Oh and I found my hospital bag from last time still half packed In fairness I didn't go in to hospital, but still...

frazzledoldbag · 09/03/2009 21:52

sorry jennster Happy Birthday, hope it was a good one.
Am exhausted also, full of cold and now feeling quite sick. Not sure what's going on. Also traumatised by the surrogacy programme. Will watch the last ten mins of it then head to bed I think. Hope you all sleep well. x

pulapula · 09/03/2009 22:14

I am feeling really tired too today- think i overdid it by arranging 2 playdates today- although its nice to go to friend's houses and get cups of tea made for me, it's very tiring dealing with the fights over toys, high noise levels and general giddiness these get-togethers cause.

I also have to get to work early tomorrow as i am interviewing 4 people which i always find stressful too. Not looking forward to it . I should go to bed. Night night all.

Momino · 09/03/2009 22:54

Jennster, happy birthday. champagne sounds good to me!

about trainee MW: a few have sat in on my MW appointments and they are lovely. I guess the one that was present at dd2's birth just got on my nerves because I was having a tough labour but all I remember her doing was standing around, thoughtlessly making exclamations - 'fantastic!' and not trying to help. like i was a sideshow.

Momino · 09/03/2009 22:56

i'm off to bed too. girls are back (hurrah!) so won't have a lie in tomorrow (no hurrah). but look forward to cuddles when they wake up - much better than a lie in! good night, all.

SpangleMaker · 09/03/2009 23:05

Having a quick cup of lemon & ginger tea then off to bed. I was going to watch the surrogacy programme but was at the AN class instead, having a go at changing a nappy on a doll. I'm thinking that the real thing is going to be rather traumatic for me, DH and baby!

Jennster happy belated birthday!

pulapula good luck with the interviewing. I find it stressful, and tiring too. I did some interviews a few weeks back for our grad scheme & was really achey & stiff afterwards from sitting still so long.

night everyone x

llareggub · 10/03/2009 05:48

DS wide awake at 3.30am. Tried and failed to get him back off to sleep, now sitting downstairs with bleary eyes and coffee. Am not looking forward to throwing a newborn into this hell...

Blottedcopybook · 10/03/2009 07:38

Oh no, you poor sausage

I was so tired last night I fell asleep while DH was in his bath (so, maybe 8.30pm? 9 at a push?) He gave me a snuggle and a kiss when he got into bed which woke me up briefly and then I slept through until 6.45am. I never sleep like that but I'm still bloody tired!

Are any of you planning a homebirth? Sorry if this has been done to death already ;)

FiKelly · 10/03/2009 08:05

llareggub poor you! those nights are awful. when ds wakes up at that time it's usually a bad dream.. did you manage to get back to bed?

ds slept better last night.. slept through dh getting ready for work.. and woke at 6.30am. although i'm happy to get up then i thought it best to pop him back into bed just in case it's 5am tomorrow. he stayed in bed for 15mins then got up.. didn't ask to come out this time.. just wedged his door open, turned on his light and started playing in his room! i went and got him at 7.. so def an improvement.

blotted there are quite a few planning home births.. chocolatebunnies and belgian i remember but know there are more i can't remember..

Polony · 10/03/2009 08:42

Fi that sounds much more civilised of ds. Hope it keeps up and you get the sleep you need. Good luck with flat.

Happy birthday Jennster!

I really can't keep up at the moment, so hello everyone. Oh - Belgian - you ried an osteopath or is that really not a good idea even if you feel like you need a tweak? Maybe some very gentle manipulation would help? I hope you can get some relief ASAP.

FiKelly · 10/03/2009 09:37

I meant to say my blood pressure was low at my 25/6wk app but back to more normal at 28wks..

Hello girls - sorry not been on for a bit, all ok just mad busy (mostly on line shopping.... )

Can't possibly catch up with everyone but welcome to newbies, happy birthdays and anniversaries and congrats to choc on wedding - wow!!

belgian - thanks so much for that link - very good prices. Are you pleased with the doors? I'm, just not sure about their interiors and unsure if other interiors would fit - gosh its all a nightmare!! I used to work for a company that had a factory in ALdrige and I'm only about an hour from there - you should meet up with spangle and me for coffee, one day soon!! I may go and have a look in the shop this week anyway - thanks for your help

Spangle hello! Went to my friends for the cds but she'd left them at her mothers, grrr. She's promised to send them to me in next few days so you should have them soon - the birth one is from 32 weeks so still in time to get chilled

Frazz hello chicken - you have a good break? Seems like ages since we spoke on here! I'm with you on the nesting - just done our downstairs loo and seeking wardrobes for nursery to make best use of ltd space as both sprogs will be in there to start with - well after 4 months or so. I've ordered my i candy but thanks for the chariots info anyway. I too watched the surrogacy programme and blubbed for ages - no idea how they do that - its all very honorable but i don't think i could do it? Also the 2 kind of adoptive mothers (not right word but don't know what is..) were AWFUL!!? That russian woman was horrendous - what a cow

Got few days off this week and next to do some serious house and baby shopping before I get too big and tired to bother. Pip continues to get wedged high under ribs at night and it really HURTS and makes dealing with Lotti all but impossible. I get a ripping feeling when i try to pick her up when he is stuck in that position.

Re blood pressure - mine has gone low - think it was 100/40 at check last week - had to lie down yesterday as felt was going to pass out - yuks

Oh has any any experience of funpods? I want to get one for LOtti but our kitchen is small and I don't think they fold up for storage. However, I think it would resolve the constant up up up up up when I'm in the kitchen!!

Spangle just remembered about your comment re DH and wardrobes but unfortunately I'm not at that top end - more at the Ikea end
Had a quote from one company for £3k lol DP had a blue fit as I said it was reasonable

Sorry long post - not been on for ages
Got to work now - maybe catch you guys later

Belgianchocolates · 10/03/2009 09:45

Morning everyone. My bladder and baby are working together to train me for the broken nights I think. I was up every 2h for 1 or the other last night. Throw in the cat meowing at my door at 6am and by May I should be used to it all!

Blotted I'm planning a homebirth. I'm looking forward to it. I think with the SPD and all it will be better, because I wont have to walk to the car, hospital etc...

Polony Thanks for the advise regarding the osteopath. I'm never quite sure what's the difference between an osteopath and a chiropractor, I know they both manipulate the body somehow, but that's about it. Which one do you think would be better?

fi I'm happy for you that your ds let you sleep a bit better tonight. I suppose that once he's used to being 'ignored' until 7, he'll go back to sleeping to 7.

llareggub Hopefully you'll get some nap time in today and hopefully it was a 1 off as well. You must be feeling so tired.

Belgianchocolates · 10/03/2009 09:49

detsy no probs for the link. We are very happy with the doors. They look really good and are a perfect fit. We fitted them ourselves and that was quite easy. It's just finding insides for them now, I have a feeling we'll have to look for made to measure too or a DIY job by dh consisting of metal tubing and boards . Where are you from then Detsy?

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 09:49

Morning ladies [rubs sleepy eyes]
llare - sounds like your DS and my DD were in cahoots last night. She was up screaming with a bad dream at 3am and didn't get her back to sleep till well after 5am. Ended up with DH bringing her downstairs for a bottle after which she eventually went back in her cot. As a result we are all (including poor bleary-eyed DD1 who also got woken by her) exhausted today. I even resorted to bringing her into our bed in the hope of snuggling her back to sleep - no luck she just wriggled and talked and kicked for about an hour and refused to fall asleep. Nightmare.
blotted I'm hoping for a homebirth too - but at my 28wks appointment my midwife said my baby was transverse (although still time to move obviously - although for some reason the m/w gave the impression she didn't think it would) and also made a fuss about my blood loss after DD2 (even though the consultant said he'd clear me for a HB). So I got the definite feeling she was trying to 'wriggle' out of saying I could have one. I'd still like one though, guess will wait and see what they say at my next apptmt in 4 wks time.
belgian don't know if you saw it but I posted a wee while ago about my friend who had really bad SPD then went swimming and whilst doing the back stroke got an awful pain in her pelvic area, got out and a few hours later her SPD was much better and improved (but didn't completely go away) for the rest of her pregnancy. No idea what she did or why it worked but maybe a spot of backstroke might be worth a try?

FiKelly · 10/03/2009 09:53

belgian ikwym with the baby/bladder... so frustrating at night times... I'm really hoping that DS not coming out of his room till 7 thing is going to work

Belgianchocolates · 10/03/2009 10:01

frazzled I saw your post about your friend. I've got aquanatal tomorrow, so I was thinking about giving backstroke a go
