detsy hiya [waves frantically] so nice to hear from you. It's been aaaaaaages.
Need to get some work done today but all I can think about is the list of things I want to get done in this house! Blinds, creating a playroom, storage, beanbags, mirrors, organising stuff...........oh dear I sort of feel exhausted just thinking about it and haven't been in my office yet this morning to tackle the mail. Currently watching a quick bit of The Wright Stuff whilst inhaling crumpets with butter and marmalade and a strong coffee (bad mother) to try and revive me.
Catch up later anyway. BTW still traumatised by that surrogacy prog - was dreaming about it last night. Felt so sorry for the lovely girl with the long hair and the 3 kids who had to give that GORGEOUS baby Edward away to that dreadfully rude Russian and her freaky DH.
I have to say that seeing those baby boys really made me extremely broody. So so so lovely . Roll on May!
Right, better get on. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

detsy · 10/03/2009 10:08

belgian metal tubing and boards... If you go custom made then you'll prob lose all the savigs you made on the doors tho!!! I like the b n q ones but twice the price

I'm south cheshire - Junc 17 M6 - Sandbach - we could meet half way, Stafford say? Not the services tho and don't know the area at all! Trentham Gardens maybe?

To all strugglling with LOs sleeping - yup I'm in that club too! I'm sure they do it to put us in training tho!!

detsy · 10/03/2009 10:13

frazz sorry crossed post. Youfreak me out sometimes (in the nicest possible way )- crumpets and butter here too but with rooboos tea and erm galaxy!!! I need a mirror for the loo and am making a blind (well I've got the bits..)

Creating a playroom at the frazz mansions (again!!)

Completely agree about Edward and the couple!

llareggub · 10/03/2009 10:21

I'm so, so tired....just got up after DH took DS over to the inlaws so we could get some rest this morning. We are currently discussing strategies to get him to sleep again. It is so, so frustrating, particularly with the impending arrival of the newborn. I'm trying to remain upbeat about it now, but last night (this morning?) it seemed like the end of the world and I seriously doubted my ability to cope with the late nights. To top things off, my unthinking DH left a bottle of milk on the bed, which leaked onto our duvet so now I have to get the thing washed at a laundrette as I doubt it is small enough for our machine.

It is those annoying, silly things that push me over the edge really. He has a perfectly serviceable and useful bedside table so need for leaving it on the bed. There were loads of small, petty things like that yesterday that made me feel like I was turning into a real nag, but it is hard enough as it is to get this house straight and ordered for the baby's arrival without doing extra! DH runs a business and 15 boxes were cluttering up our conservatory, and looking very tempting as climbing material for DS. I've been asking him for days to move the things but it took me exploding last night with the petty frustration of it all.

Grrrrr

and breathe......

sorry to rant.

I feel better now!

ooh detsy we'll have our own little baby Edwards soon - can't wait
The mirror I need is for my downstairs loo too!
I'm not up to making blinds though - am not very good at that sort of thing Will have to buy some.
By the way Mothercare have a pretty good sale on maternity clothes just now - bought some pj's and a nightie for after the birth yesterday in the sale plus some jeans and a couple of tops which were all quite reduced. If you need anything like that there are bargains to be had. The pj's in particular are nice (black lace trim bottoms, cream top and a black and cream wrap-over sort of cardi thing to go over the top). Comfy. Wearing my new jeans (which keep falling down, but don't they all?), pink stripy top and grey jersey cardi top thing (all mothercare sale) today which has cheered me up a bit. I get so sick of wearing the same old stuff every day. [looks longingly in direction of my lovely (small) pre-preg clothes.........] - will I ever fit in them again I wonder.
Must stop procrastinating and get on.
x

Belgianchocolates · 10/03/2009 10:31

dandy When my dd came along ds was just 2 and he kept his normal sleeping pattern. I did make sure I kept his normal bedtime routine going without interruption of dd (she was usually kept quiet by my boobs!)

Re the mothercare sale: I got myself a mat bra for £7 from there last week. I know they're not the best ones, but it's a pretty pink one and it's only got to last a couple of months until I can move on to a nursing one.

Anyway. Time for my appointment now. Hope she'll sort me out!

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 10:34

Having another crumpet (yum) and refusing to worry about the size of my arse!
dandy my DD1 was 5 when DD2 arrived and was only disturbed a few times in the night despite DD2 being a really horrific screamer/non-sleeper. DD2 certainly didn't seem to see it as a bonus to be up in the middle of the night and used to put her pillow on her head so she could go back to sleep. I did used to say to her (whilst tucking her up at night) that if she heard us up with the baby she was to ignore it and stay asleep as it was just me up feeding and no need to worry.

Morning all! Thanks for your replies to my question on the moses basket. I will have to think hard about that one and weigh the pros and cons. I am inclined not to get one actually.

I am happy to say that our preparations are coming along nicely. We assembled a chest of drawers last night, and this morning I've placed all DS' stuff in them. We've done the pram, the car seat and base are sorted, and i am expecting the cot and mattress to arrive today. Smaller items will be delivered too and we are ordering more this week. I figure we should be quite ready by early April.

Oh, I should go to Mothercare and have a look at the sale!

detsy · 10/03/2009 10:48

llare n dandy I have exactly the same worries - DD is being a little night time monster at the mo and I was just where you are a few weeks ago (including the milk on the bed due to DP, but I've not washed duvet ) I think its just worrying cos we are so tired and frustrated at the mo and the thought of another little to add to the mix can be very scary at times! For me its got better in last few days, I think its the age old trial and tribulation till you get something that works (cc for us )and they fall back into routine. Lotti will def be up if she thinks she is missing out!! She was up at 4am this morning demanding up baba and bok (bottle). I'm afraid I took the tough mom stance and did controlled crying - only had to sit out the first 5 mins and she gave up (till 6 then I gave up and we all got up )

Frazz downstairs loo mirror - OMG!! You'll need at least another 4 crumpets to make up for my med/large bar of galaxy. Off to see the mcare sales in next few days - agree its bloody depressing wearing same old same old. A lot of my stuff has also gone knackered and bobbly even tho it was new for this pregnancy - now there's a good idea - good quality, decent price maternity wear that's long enough and comfortable for the last few months. I'm currently braless with stained t shirt and yoga pants - mmm soo delightful

Right can you all stop posting now i've got to work!!!!! No self (bladder..)control at all

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 10:52

Mmmmm Galaxy yum. There's a Cadburys cream egg in the cupboard - I wonder how long it will stay there.....? [whispers: not long]
Right better go, just had phone call from accountants asking for paperwork and need to go sort it out.
Have a good day all. x

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 10:55

And detsy bra-less, really? Is that safe?

andrina · 10/03/2009 10:55

Dandy, your DD sounds lovely

divedaisy · 10/03/2009 10:56

Good morning all!

According to the info above this message box there should be 10 pages for me to read, but I can't forward onto page 10 - comes up blank! So 9 pages will have to do. You lot can really talk! So many pages to read through and try to keep up with - totally impossible to remember all that has been said... baby brain!!

bekkaboo- my ds aged 6 absolutely loves lego. He's been building 'big boy lego' since he was 5 and I am totally amazed at his building abilities. One thing though is that he's not old enough to properly look after all the wee small bits, but he's learing and I've bought him plastic shest of drawers and DIY accessory drawer sets too (you know the type for sorting out the screws, nails etc into drawers with dividers!) He's mad for Indiana Jones, Rock Monster and Star Wars Lego - of course he's wanting the Death Star set at a cost of £270!!!

Jennster - happy birthday for Sunday! Mine is on Thursday - the big 4-0!! DH has bought me a bottle of bubbly, so maybe I'll pop it!

Belgian - OHHHH!! Your M&P Skate - how are you getting on with it?? I haven't received the phone call yet to say it's in store, but DH probably wont want it at home until baby is born OK. THough I'd love to have a play with it again! What colour did you get? I've ordered the lime green - can't wait to get it!! Though I think mine is arriving beginning of April.

Andrina - about your moses basket. I got one for ds (from a charity shop & replaced the matress). I used it during the day when ds slept in the living room rather than in his crib. I also had a lie flat pram that was used when out and about/visiting for the day etc. I only used the travel cot if we were going to stay away over night somewhere.

Detsy - your 100/40 BP seems very low to me! It's the '40' that is low. The '100' is healthy enough. The top number is generally 100+your age - ie if your 0 your top BP should be around 130/?? and the lower level should be usually between 60-80. So mine was 110/70 which is good (cos I'm 39 and 363 days!!!)but has been up at 135/93.

I didn't sleep well at all last night, even though I was totally shattered. DS went to Ju-Jitsu and he was in bed and asleep for 9pm. I went to bed aroung 9.30, dh came up at 10.30 then around 11.00 he exclaimed 'PLEASE!!!!' - apparently I was snoring, but I didn't even think I was asleep! I felt awake...??? Then Baby Bump wsa on the move and I was up and down to the loo.... oh so annoying... So this morning I nearly threw the alarm out of the window at 7am!! ANd I need to start sorting out this house! It is such a mess... And then MN gives me about 6 pages to catch up with!!!

I wonder if I can get onto page 10 now....

Sorry about long post...

divedaisy · 10/03/2009 11:03

Ilareggub - I know how you feel re boxes everywhere. We run our own business too, and the house is the delivery address for the shops stock - boxes everywhere does get annoying. ANd my garage is loaded with bikes! I can not get the lawn mower out (for DH to use!!) and that;s his edxcuse I think for not getting it done.

Well Ive been sitting down enough this morning - need to get something done!!!

detsy · 10/03/2009 11:19

Daisy - I don't understand BP - never have but mine has always been low. My top figure is never more than 110 (I'm 41 so guess it should be 140?) and my lower figure is normally around 60 - 65. Would this make me breathless (irritable and a hormonal nagging cow from hell...) as well then? Should I just wait for it to get higher or do something - my MW said it would just increase by itself.

llareggub · 10/03/2009 11:26

detsy I don't understand BP either, although I should because mine is always high in pregnancy.

I've just had a text from the inlaws to say that DS is fast asleep. I'm going to make sure we run him into the ground this afternoon as I can't cope with another night like that. DH and I have even discussed the stairgate on the door solution, but I'm sure he'd just find a way to climb over it. We'd try CC, but he doesn't cry at night, he just runs up and down or jumps on the bed!

I've finished sorting through the baby clothes and they are mostly ironed and put away now. Some of them are so teeny, I can't believe they'll fit or that they ever did fit the incredible non sleeping boy. I hope this new baby is a sleeper.

Jael · 10/03/2009 11:32

I didn't sleep well either last night, at all. I layed awake from 4am till 6am. Baby was kicking tons and doing somersaults, it really felt like he was completely moving positions. Am going to pop down and seee MW tomorrow, as he's been breech all this time, maybe he's changed, well hopefully.

I had two crumpets for brekkie with butter and marmite, and was still hungry afterwards me and DD made flapjack yesterday, so I'm looking forward to that later with a cup of tea, yum X

divedaisy · 10/03/2009 11:33

If you have lived with a low bp detsy then a lower one you may tolerate it, although you may feel a bit dizzy when you get up too quickly. If the mw was worried she'd have not let you go I'm sure! Mine has been varied too throughout this preg. And it changes all the time!

A low BP just means that the blood may take a wee while to reach your brain - that's why you can feel dizzy if you stand up/get out of bed too fast!! I've seen times when I've lept out of bed to go to ds aid, and I'm in his room before I can actually see where I am - everything's dark and I'm dizzy!! Good job I know my way into his room!!!!

chocolatebunnies · 10/03/2009 11:46

Hi Ladies,

How are we all today???

Im soooo stressed out with this wedding planning! Me and DP really wanted a simple affair (so much so we nearly decided to get married without telling anyone!) but now everyone is taking over, quite literally! My family seem to want to go the traditional route, we're nothing like traditional and my IL's arent really fussed as lon as they're involved! They dont seem to understand that at 2 weeks before bump is due, I am NOT going to be up for a massive thing! I fully intend to go home and sleep in the afternoon!

My dress has arrived, if anyone wants to look, its the wedding dress from Seraphine.

Will put some pics up of Madi in her bidesmaid dress (her princess dress as she calls it)

Bump seems to have popped out now, and I keep getting pains on one side, really uncomfortable, could be braxton hicks?? I didnt have them with Madi so god knows!

I am getting incredibly broody now, just want baby out! We put the cot together yesterday, awwwwww!

I can't believe Im nearly 30 weeks gone, although is anyone else wondering where the hell the second trimester went?? I dont remember blooming??! I just feel exactly the same!

Ooooo if anyone remebers, I was trying to sell my car, I actually sold it at the weekend! Soooo relieved!

If anyone needs a new craving, Strawberrys and Milky Bar Yoghurt! Try it! Heaven! Also if you crush a Crunchie and sprinkle it on top its yummy!

detsy · 10/03/2009 11:57

llare poor you!! It sounds bloody obvious but does he do lots in the day - can't remember ifhe goes to nursery/preschool or not? Lotti has started to walk and I've discovered the obv that its much more tiring for her than crawling - this weekend we developed the same strategy - busy busy busy with as much walking, swimming, adventure playground, fresh air as possible and she has been sooo much better at sleeping through. I think the constant stimulation and exercise has worked wonders. But yesterday she only did a rhythm time class and spent a while in the garden and she was up more than at the weekend. Nursery today so she will be shattered hopefully!!

llareggub · 10/03/2009 12:14

*detsy he does go to pre-school twice a week. In fact, he was there yesterday! Our strategy has always been to tire him out with lots of outdoor play, painting etc. Trouble is, he has been given a full-size keyboard and all he wants to do is play on it! I couldn't get him out of the house yesterday afternoon because he was tinkling away. When he gets back from the inlaws I'm going to take him swimming. The keyboard has been stashed away for a few days. To be honest he probably doesn't get as much activity as he is used to, but what with him not sleeping, me getting bigger etc, it is a vicious circle!

I actually feel better after a sleep and doing my Davina workout.

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 12:25

Oops the cream egg is no longer in the cupboard. Bet nobody can guess where it is now
congrats on selling your car chocolatebunnies that's fab news. And the wedding dress from Seraphine is divine, you lucky thing - you'll be stunning. Although i do think you're brave organising a wedding at the mo. Low key is probably the best option - it's just getting everyone else to stick to that which is the prob I guess. Best of luck with keeping the family in check!!!x

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 12:27

although chocbunnies if you're anything like me when pg you'll be Mrs Assertive! I seem to be able to speak my mind like never before and am finding it impossible to put up with cr*p from anyone (normally I'm much more polite and tactful). Must be the pg hormones making me such a stroppy cow!
Might come in useful tho....
