BelgianChoc- I had SPD last time and also lower back pain and scatica I went to an osteopath and it made it all much better so the news that SPD is to do with your pelvis out of line makes sense to me.

I'm too scared to put the grumpy grandad on AIBU!!! I didn't see him at Beavers at pick up time!! Woof Woof!!!

Just watching Jade on Living channel - so sad...

And I'm having my 'last-day-in-my-thirties' Magners so 'Cheers ladies!!!' - mind you I'd really prefer a Mojito!!! Ching-ching!!

Cheers Divedaisy - [pulapula takes a swig from her caffeine-free diet coke can] and many happy returns for tomorrow.

Sausage Aveeno is fabulous, but if you ever fancy a bath, then get a pop sock or old pair of tights, and put a couple of handfuls of porridge oats in. Tie up the end tightly (or you end up bathing in porrige) and put in the water under the running tap. You can use Oilatum (liquid paraffin) or Balneum (soya) bath oils too if you like.

Belgianchocolates · 11/03/2009 21:34

Divedaisy Enjoy your last day in your thirties Magners!

Jael revealing her age as 22 shows what a diverse bunch of women we are!

Jael I don't think that your age has anything to do with your ability to knit. I couldn't knit a baby sock if my life depended on it and I'm 31.

I usually ask my dcs to heal when they're ill. But I'd never shout heel! But hey, who knows what had happened before. Maybe they were playing dogs.

flippineck · 11/03/2009 21:55

Evening all!

There's always so much to catch up on with you lot - do we get a prize for being so talkative?! apologies for not acknowledging every strand of the conversation!

Divedaisy - enjoy your cider and have a lovely day tomorow.

Well, after my whinge last week because of DH being overseas this week, I've discovered an upside to his absence - I'm sleeping better! The last few nights I've only woken once to go to the toilet, managed to get back to sleep quickly and not been so achy. I guess its because I've got more space in bed to get comfortable.

My big sympathies though to those with LOs and regressing sleep - DD is also going through a bad patch, and has gone back to waking before 6 every day again, and every bed time has been a battle. I think some of it is because of DH being away, but the early waking thing - who knows? We really thought she/we had turned a corner when she started sleeping until 0630 a few months ago, but it's all gone completely backwards again.

I wore my new H&M jeans today for the first time - they're great! They're comfortable and don't fall down, and don't look dreadful either, just what I want. I've just got some jersey slobbing around loungewear trousers from M&S, they're very soft and very comfortable. The reviews on th website said that some people wore them for work, not sure I'd do that though as they are slightly pyjama-ish.

divedaisy · 11/03/2009 22:04

Just watched Jade on living... I don't like feeling like I'm being a nosey person, but she has put herself out there for all to see. Dying of cancer is not nice - we watched FIL die of it last year. Anyhow, Jade looks so elegant in her wedding dress.. still very very sad for someone so young.

DS started too to regress with his sleep/bedtime routine. I put up his sticker chart again and praised him every time he did it 'without a fuss and a fight' for practicing to be a big brother and reinforced how helpful he is being for me. Tonight I had him in bed within 10 minutes and was able to walk away for him to go to sleep... my baby is growing up...

Oh I need to pee - baby bump is springboarding on my bladder!!!

llareggub · 11/03/2009 22:04

flippineck you must have the same M&S jersey trews as me! Are they the roll top jersey maternity ones? I left a very negative review about them as they are so thin, but they are actually so comfy I feel quite guilty!

divedaisy have a lovely day tomorrow, and enjoy your Magners.

I had terrible cramp this morning. I jumped out of bed around 4am, with cramp in both calves, what felt like both ankles, feet and toes. I just tried stretching in all directions but the only thing that worked in the end was the lovely, cold floor in our ensuite! Watching QI and then off to bed. Night all.

flippineck · 11/03/2009 22:09

llaregub - guess they must be the same trousers, the £15 ones? Really don't think I'd wear them out in public but they are actually more comfortable than anything else I own atm.

The cramp sounds horrible, I've been getting that pre-crampy feeling quite often in the nught, but luckily it hasn't turned into the full thing. I have to be really careful about how I move and stretch my legs.

Belgian - I don't have full on SPD, but do have some kind of PGP and see a chiropractor every two weeks. I can really feel the difference after I've been, and can tell when I need to go again.

Belgianchocolates · 11/03/2009 22:19

I get leg cramp in bed too. I've found it's worse when I haven't had enough to drink during the day. I know what you mean with that pre-crampy feeling flippineck when I feel that I can't really move my leg very much either. Oh and I'm always looking forward to my dh going back to work just for the nights! I sleep so much better when he's not at home. I do miss him during the day though

All my pain is in my sacro-illiac joints at the back of my pelvis now. It used to be at my symphysis pubis but it's moved. So I haven't really got SPD either, but PGP. I keep wondering what's better, a chiropractor or osteopath. I've tried to find out what's the difference, but the description of what they do is the same for both in my PGP booklet thing

Anyway. Bedtime for me now.

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 11/03/2009 22:26

ive just written a whole great big post commenting on everything i could and was really happy with myself for catching up and keeping involved and now i've just lost it so im not happy as too tired to try again

a few small things i remember from it are-

jael snap! im 22 too (and dont know how to knit a thing either lol)

divedaisy hope your enjoying your last thirties magners good for you! and OMG at the grumpy grandad im glad mine arent like that! and happy birthday for 2moro hope you have a lovely day.

re 2nd grandchildren this lo is the 2nd on both sides and i do think there is a little less interests and no-body had really brought anything yet as we've already got it all! my mum had brought me a crib as i didnt have one for ds last time and really wanted one this time. but im sure when this lo is here they will be treated the same.

sweetbroody thanx very much for you post. im feeling not too bad at the mo, had a chat to midwife and she just said to keep and eye on it and if i feel its getting worse and im not having any good moments then to go to gp but so far i think im coping ok with it myself.

im not watching jade as i dont think the emotions could cope with it and too tired also.

right thats about as much as i can manage after loosing it all! take care all mummy's to be

divedaisy · 11/03/2009 22:28

My SPD pains move about too. Depends on what way baby is lying on I think. Sometimes pain in my back, can be down one or both legs, in my buttocks, and through my fanjo too!!

Also been getting unsettled tingly legs at night esp if the bed is too warm. Woke up last night and my right leg was totally numb what ever way I was lying on it.

Going to open Magners bottle #2... is that OK??? Feel a bit guilty.... should be OK!!??

llareggub · 11/03/2009 22:30

divedaisy go for it, you only leave your 30s once!

Momino · 11/03/2009 22:33

divedaisy, hope that magners tasted lovely. but I couldn't watch a program on Jade. Her story is so sad.

about 2nd children - we had so many photos of dd1's 1st and 2nd year and have taken maybe 1/3 as many of dd2. it did make me sad when I realised this but am trying to make up for it now. I'm also worried about dd2's attentions since, when DC3 arrives, s/he will get lots of attention being the youngest. poor dd2! I'm going to try not to have her disappear in the middle.

my lovely mom - when I told her of the pregnancy of her 25 or 26th grandchild (not sure which now), she said she's just as excited about this one as she was for the 1st. now, she may be lying but it's so nice that she said it! but i suppose having had 12 of us, she must really love children .

flippineck · 11/03/2009 22:34

TBH, I've no idea which is better, a chiropractor or an osteopath, but I see the chiro because he was recommended to me when I was looking for one for DD when she was a few weeks old (breech and unbelievably curled up). Because I'd struggled a bit in late pregnancy with her, as soon as I found out I was PG this time I started seeing him myself.

Momino · 11/03/2009 22:34

Jael, am 39 and don't know how to knit!

flippineck · 11/03/2009 22:40

Momino - one of 12? Wow! That's some family.

MIL is just as enthusastic about knitting/purchasing stuff this time as she was with DD. Cynically though, I think some of this is overcompensating though for falling out with DH's brother and not seeing her other GD.

flippineck · 11/03/2009 22:41

Meant to say about knitting too - I'm mind 30s and can knit very very basic stuff only. My Sindy had a fine collection of scarves!

Belgianchocolates · 11/03/2009 22:42

The osteopath and chiropractor thing is confusing me so much I've started a separate thread on it. I'll see what people's experiences are.

momino what a brave mum you've got: 12 children and 25 (26?) grand children! Your family reunions must be very lively.

For some reason I've got baby more pictures of dd than ds (dd came 2nd). Maybe because she was a girl? Maybe because my ds wanted to be carried around all the time and so was impossible to photograph? On the other hand there's lots of video footage of ds as a baby, but hardly any of dd. When we watch it now it's soooooo boring. Half an hour of filming for 1 baby smile lasting a few seconds!

Anyway. I really am going to bed now. Honestly.

sausagenmash · 11/03/2009 22:46

Jael and Matthewandbumpsmummy - am 36 and am rubbish at clever art-y things. I knitted a baby hat for a friend 3 years ago (well, I did some stitches, and my Mum did the corners and awkward bits) - friend's dh said it looked a bit like the end of a condom. Hmf. Am going to try and knit some squares for a baby blanket in a few weeks which my Mum assures me is dead easy, but I won't hold my breath...!

I can play the piano though! Can that count?

Divedaisy - you go for it with the magners! Woohoo!

sausagenmash · 11/03/2009 22:49

.... and I'm off to bed now as well, even though I'm going to be woken up by boozy dp in about 2 hours....

... and I only ironed one shirt! Ha! Watched 'The Lake House' on BBC3 - just got over crying my eyes out. Mind you, Keanu Reeves is still v lush!

Ahem. Nnight!

Momino · 11/03/2009 22:52

night all. i'm still working (supposedly) but need to focus so I can finish and go to sleep. yawn.

pulapula · 11/03/2009 22:53

I felt bad about not having so many baby photos of DS (there just isn't that 1-2-1 time i had with DD where i would just snap away) so i took DS for some professional photos and paid for an album. We have a video camera but dont seem to use it much and when we want to it always seems to need charging up!

To any first-timers out there- i've noticed i'm just starting to get "pointy belly" when i pull myself up and i know it freaked me out in my 1st pg so just wondered if anyone else had got this yet?!

Am also phoning to investigate 4D scans tomorrow- exciting! They also check on growth, sex and advise you if they think there are any physical issues which need investigating so i am telling myself its good value for money!

Time for bed methinks.

sausagenmash · 11/03/2009 22:55

I get pointy belly!!! Its like having a witches hat stuck under my skin! Thank God I'm not abnormal - thanks pulapula!

RIGHT I'M OFF!
