detsy, I'm bra less too! i've been too lazy to buy a bra that fits or one of the extenders. my maternity size 34 ones are hurting my ribs/upper bump. i've expanded a lot more this pregnancy so should really get a better bra... did someone say Mothercare for £6? anyway, my boobs aren't too huge that it's uncomfortable to not wear a bra.

chocbunnies, great news on the car and exciting about the wedding dress. I can't wait to see pics.

detsy · 10/03/2009 12:52

llare - IKWYM - we go swimming every week on Friday morning to a waterbabies class which is great BUT the chang facilities are AWFUL. So once Lotti is dressed she crawls/wanders off on a filthy soaking floor whilst i get dressed/stressed. I can't get dressed first because she's cold and will just wander off naked anyway. Had a rant with DP and said can't possibly go on my own anymore as its way too hard. Seeing as he pays for the courses it kinda hit a nerve and I got some help last week - blissful

Anyway hope you enjoy your swimming this afternoon - think its a good plan to hide the keyboard!! Good luck for this evening - hope its a better one for you

Oh my mama mio stuff has just arrived, mmm mmm and little Boden cardigan for madame rascal too - woo hoo

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 12:57

oooh mama mio - what did you get detsy? have you had their shower gel (pink bottle)? It's yum.

detsy · 10/03/2009 12:59

momi
I have the right size but its more comfy without - also not giganticus so am ok (and safe Frazz!) No risk of toppling!!

Have done some work but lots more to do and Waitrose is now calling me....(will get properly attired before leaving the house

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 13:00

detsy couldn't you take your buggy into the changing room then once lottie is dressed strap her in the buggy with a snack/drink or a book while you fling your clothes on (at high speed obviously!) Mind you, getting changed with little ones, too hot changing rooms and pg bump is one reason why we hardly ever go swimming. I hate being all sweaty and damp and trying to wrestle clothes onto children whilst not flashing my unattractive bits at other people! (not a pretty sight).

detsy · 10/03/2009 13:01

Yes, I got shower cream, tummy rub oil and a free boob tube (god that stuff is wonderful!!)

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 13:03

yes, best strap those norks in before venturing forth - think upmarket shops like Waitrose have a 'bra' policy to maintain decency. Or maybe you could just be a lazy cow like me and do your shopping online (oh how I love Mr Tesco and his 11pm visits!) Then you could do it in the most slovenly fashion and nobody would ever know......

detsy · 10/03/2009 13:06

Unfortunately not - couldn't swing a small cat in there and then the next class start tromping in and trying to get undressed at same time, grrr grrr. I used to use her car seat, then her Bumbo but obv neither are options now. I find its much better when we go alone to the public baths as they have individual rooms, dry, clean floors etc etc but all that stress at the classes is a nightmare

Hows the accounts going??! You seem to be on here a lot Madam!

detsy · 10/03/2009 13:07

As am I....
Like I said no self control at all

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 13:13

i am on here far too much and I know it! Am far too easily distracted when I have boring chores to get through and actually so tired today that concentrating on anything other than idle gossip is far too taxing.
Must try harder.
Anyway detsy I blame you for talking to me.......it's all your fault!

chocolatebunnies · 10/03/2009 13:17

frazzled I know what you mean about being more assertive, I generally have what is known by family as "pregnant lady rages!" I have no time for messing about and make sure people are aware of this!

I know Im mad taking on planning a wedding but I did think, if I've got this going on then I'm less likely to sit an dwell on the pending arrival and so then time will go quicker (she hopes!)

Good old credit card came in handy for getting the dress, although, god knows what Im going to do with it aftr the wedding! Its unlikely to get any more use!

All you bra-less ladies, have you not got leaky nipples yet?! I do and its bloody annoying, can't tell if its nipple dribble or Madi dribble down my front half the time!lol!

I wish I was brave enough to take Madi swimming but it just aint going to happen!

I bought a boob pump yesterday, not got anything else to get now I dont think, although I think I want a different pram system, I bought it so long ago that I want something different! but Im not allowed I know its irrational but I just want something different! May try and swap it with someone on here!

detsy · 10/03/2009 13:30

thought it must be my fault it usually is

I feeling quite cocky as done some of the tasks I've been putting off for weeks but still so far behind

Choc sometimes wonder about boob leakage as notice a wetness usually at night when in my other fave outfit - scabby old dressing gown... but like you it may be Lotti snot, dribble etc etc!!

detsy · 10/03/2009 13:33

Just read backwards a bit - its hte changing rooms you couldn't swing a cat in - not Waitrose... thats quite a big nice shop...

Yes they have a bra policy

Can't do on line as need a few wacky things that they don't sell on line - yogurt coated raisins and sake, fresh fish and a whole chicken

frazzledoldbag · 10/03/2009 13:37

oooh check you detsy with your posh shopping list.
Right, work beckons. Must do something with my hair also (disastrous hair day and parent/teacher meeting at school at 4pm). Two hours of phone calls/emails and that should do it. Enjoy your shopping. Pick me up some cream eggs and vodka on your way would you? Ta x

detsy · 10/03/2009 13:40

No worries - how about a vodka/sake mixer (may be quite good for labour actually...)
Catch you later

Blottedcopybook · 10/03/2009 14:05

Belgian Same! I'm just worried that if I have to transfer for any reason, DH will have to stay home with the other children. That's my only concern about it all, that and my mw won't put me on the on-call rota until I'm 39 weeks but DD was born at 37w3d. I'm not too keen on an unassisted homebirth!

frazzled Your MW is being overcautious, don't fret. My DS2 was breech until 36 weeks and turned cephalic of his own volition. This one has been transverse since before my 24w appointment but is now classic breech. It would be nice if ONE OF MY CHILDREN would present properly!

llaruggeb I so know how you feel. My DH is practically perfect in every way, like Mary Poppins with a set of swingers, except for his complete inability to think. I ended up in such a rage at him on Saturday that I nearly exploded a bottle of champagne (long and embarrassing temper story) because he had been so unbelievably thoughtless. It is stressful and frustrating having to constantly take into consideration someone else's daftness. Chin up my lovely x

Dandy I'm one of those Mothers with children that sleep like little angels (I know, I can feel the hate!) but my DS2 didn't bat an eyelid when DD was born and there's only 14 months between them. My kids really like their own beds though - they all coslept until they chose to leave the bed, and all of them had done so by 9 months except my eldest who stayed in bed at night with me until he was 3, but it was just the two of us then.

detsy When I take my three swimming, eldest dresses himself, DS2 gets dressed by Daddy and DD gets her cossie stripped off, her nappy put on and the biggest towel I own wrapped around her until I am dressed. That way I can usually stop her running off for long enough to get knickers and trousers on ;) plus she's not going to go cold in that time. I also cheat and take her to the comfy seats in the cafe to get her dressed but I'm lazy.

For those of you who are needing maternity bras, if you have a branch near you can I enthusiastically encourage you to get measured at Bravissimo? Even if you end up buying your bras from Mothercare, Bravissimo are out of this world in terms of bra measuring - it's a revolution! Mothercare fitted me into a 38C nursing bra and I wondered why my bazongas felt like they lived in my armpits - Bravissimo measured me into a 36G (!!!) and I have cleavage I could rest my chin in! I actually feel supported and my back isn't killing me anymore.

Momino · 10/03/2009 15:34

thank goodness no nipple leakage yet. also still in the 3 jumper layer stage (our house is always cold) so no one could ever tell I'm not wearing a bra. i'm not looking forward to breast pads but....

oh, and this talk of mamma mio, I must, must get some shower gel. when is that grant coming through? or shall I just splurge at pay day (couple of weeks to go).

have to get dd2 up now so we can go to the park. haven't been out all day . also, dd1 sat in front of tv for an hour double . but, I have done some work so it's ok, right?

FiKelly · 10/03/2009 16:26

haven't caught up with todays chat yet.. ds had a play date this morning and had to take our dog to vet this afternooon as he's been having bowel trouble. ds enjoyed day and is worn out.. dog has enlarged prostate due prob to his age and has had a hormone injection to settle it all down so should be on mend v soon.

just had text from dh of pal who's waters went yesterday.. if she hadn't started on her own by 10am this am she was booked in to be induced. she has had a baby girl 9lbs 9oz mum and baby both well and healthy. this is 2nd baby and had a 2hr labour!

OP posts:
chocolatebunnies · 10/03/2009 18:12

2hr second labour! Sounds good to me!!!Big congrats to them!

Polony · 10/03/2009 18:27

Fi thats brilliant about your friend - its so nice to hear such stories. Poor Douglas though.

Belgian I don't know very much about osteopathic or chiropractic treatment - its not something I've had myself, but I know that they are both good at manips. My DP used to have chiropractic treatment for migraines and he said it was very effective. I did notice at a class last week a flyer for osteopathic treatment during pg which caught my attention because I wasn't sure if you could do that stuff while pg (evidently you can). I keep hearing people recommend osteopathy, and if you could find someone who has experience with pgp or pregnancy it could be just the thing. In my experience, bodies are pretty good at telling you what they need, so if you feel like you need a tweak, and from what others have said about peolpe recieving some form of tweak and then their pain receding, it could well be worth a shot. It sounds like you're in a lot of pain. I hope you get some relief soon one way or another.

Choc stand your ground - I'm impressed at the fact you're taking it on at all so glad to hear you're not up for taking any crap. Looking forward to some pics!

Belgianchocolates · 10/03/2009 18:41

divedaisy I've got the skate in 'fudge' I managed to find the matching car seat online at M&P, but for some reason the shops only stock the black one. It's really really nice and so smooth to push around the house, I don't even have to have the handle height up to maximum, which is a novelty for me!
Oh and about BP's in pregnancy: they are normally a bit lower than a normal average adult.

News about my PGP: the physio has given me some crutches and they've really helped today. They're only for the worst days, but I've already felt relief. So I'm a happy bunny

divedaisy · 10/03/2009 18:46

Oh Chocolatebunnies - it's horrid when family takes over your wedding plans. I'm married 13 years and wanted an immediate family and friends affair. Then mum siad oh but aunty so-and-so and long family frond blah-blah would so miss it... in the end it ended up with about 100 people there - and my mum paid for the reception too!!!

re nipples - I have some leakage (but only when I squeeze them to see if anything's happening!!) but they are more... er... alert, and itchy (esp the right one!!) I'm still fitting my nursing bras from last time. But I hate getting measured for bras - M&S aren't that good either - they measure your back very loose. Because of the way baby is lying i sometimes feel as though my bra is too tight.

llareggub · 10/03/2009 19:12

No leakage here!

Anyone else a bit rashy? I have a rash on my hands, arms and tummy, lovely!

V.v tired so took DS swimming. It was freezing!

FiKelly · 10/03/2009 19:13

divedaisy I'm the same with leakage more so from one side than the other..

my friends 2hr labour sounds both good and bad to me.. hard to say without speaking to her but I have visions of it being at bit full on! it was quite a while between her waters going and contractions starting I think..

OP posts:
Belgianchocolates · 10/03/2009 19:39

Aargh, I just somehow managed to lose my post I don't know how, I opened another tab to have a look at Chocbunnies wedding dress and somehow I managed to close MN before I finised to write my post!!!! It's a lovely dress btw

Anyway, what I said was that:

I've got no leakage, but always wear a bra because my boobs would otherwise be by my knees

I don't think a 2h labour is very nice. During one of my last shifts I was with someone begging me for help, because her labour suddenly started and she went from 3-9cm in about 20mins. I felt so sorry for her, there wasn't all that much I could do to help her. My last labour was 5h, fast, but slow enough to build up gradually, so I've got another one of those on order

When I used to take ds swimming when I was pregnant with dd I used to get him dressed first and then give him a snack while I got dressed. Ds LOVES his food, so that usually kept him quiet long enough for me to get dressed.

Chocbunnies I got married last year and meant to have a small do. We had our wedding in Belgium and 95% of the people we invited came! My mum was a real pain too, because she wanted to invite all these people that I didn't know as well, so we ended up with some of her colleagues and friends at the "reception" (i.e. drinks and nibbles before the meal, a Belgian wedding runs in a different order than an English one, wont go into detail) Luckily she paid for her guests. Still we had 200 people there, so far for our small wedding, hey
