Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 17:31

I think I'm going to hide under the covers and hope the baby crawls out of my like a little Joey crawls out of a mommy kanga...

LuLuBai · 03/03/2009 17:33

minush - do they have doulas in France?

I wanted DH there but he did annoy me at times. There were long stretches of time where he was tired and bored and trying to find ways to amuse himself. When I started making up little dances to Doris Day show tunes I lost my rag!

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 17:34

My antenatal class is not until the 14th- it's intensive (one day all day) and the only one they had available until after my birth and that one was only available because someone had cancelled (which is why the MW was supposed to talk to me last week)

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 17:34

I have a text from Nutty:

"Doc thinks poss pre-eclampsia. Got high BP. Blood, protein & white cells in wee again today. She's given me antibiotics for wee infection to rule that out. Got to go back for bloods in morning & reassessment. Am to go to hospital if I get worse tonight. Going to go to bed now."

Bless her.

frostyfrekkles · 03/03/2009 17:35

liking your style bleu, i'm totally with you on the complete denial front. even if it does feels like i have a bowling ball in my knickers , i still don't think i actually believe that this is all going to happen..

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 17:35

LOL at your DH and Doris Day dances Lulu! I'm sure that would distract me from the pain for a moment. Perhaps you could send him round the other labour rooms!

If anyone wants my birth plan you're more than welcome, but it's half completely made up, half stolen borrowed from others.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 03/03/2009 17:36

oooh poor Nutty... Hope it's not pre-eclampsia! Rest well... We're thinking of you darlin'!

frostyfrekkles · 03/03/2009 17:36

give her my love when you text her back springy poor lass xx

minush · 03/03/2009 17:37

Yep, I'm reassuring DH that there'll be no need to see the business end of things

Balls, if he walks out on me in the labour ward, I'll have a LIFETIME of ammunition . Hah, I'm just imagining all the things it could justify!
If he foists the MIL on me though, LO will grow up in a one parent family!

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 17:37

Oh Nutty is poorly again?!? Poor Nutty. I did wonder where she was.

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 17:38

Oh poor nutty. Sending out BP lowering vibes (though not sure what direction to point) .

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/03/2009 17:40

oh god, nutty's not due until the very end! poor thing. i hope she's ok.

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 17:40

Can't imagine anything worse than MIL as birth partner. Own MIL lovely, and very sadly departed, but were she still here, can't imagine her being the person I wanted to be there. Although preferable to own mother discovering what a foul mouth I can have!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/03/2009 17:41

right i'm off to lie down. my head is pounding again and it's starting to make me feel sick.

night!
xx

LuLuBai · 03/03/2009 17:42

Oh poor Nutty. Well at least they will have to keep a very close eye on her now. Lets hope she finds some sympathetic people to look after her. Fingers crossed.

minush · 03/03/2009 17:42

LuLu, funny though the Doris Day related behaviour sounds now, I can imaine it grating somewhat at the time!

I'm actually looking in to changing hospitals to one which has a more 'touchy feely' approach to labour, will enquire about birthplans, doulas etc when I go see them

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 17:43

I know - she's really not been lucky at all. She & her LO will be fine, though I'm sure - Nutty's hardly the type to wimp out of anything & I can't imagine that she's capable of producing children who aren't feisty little things. Whatever happens it'll work out okay for them, it's just a shame that it's all so difficult!

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 17:46

What are people having for supper? I need some ideas..though I'm thinking of just ordering a pizza or something because it's so blasted cold downstairs in the kitchen...Though is it mean to make pizza people to come out in such horrible weather?

minush · 03/03/2009 17:47

Poor Nutty, it sounds like she's been in the wars with this pregnancy

My MIL is alright too, but really!! at the birth, ughhhhhhh! My mum has offered to come if DH freaks out, think she's got a fouler mouth than anyone, so no danger of shocking her.

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 17:50

Bleu, I think you are being a bit hormonal if you're worried about pizza delivery people in bad weather

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 17:51

maybe maternal not hormonal

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 03/03/2009 17:52

tee hee Bleu - go for the pizza!!

DH is cooking tonight and he's bringing home trout, mash, salad and non-alc beer. yum yum!

minush · 03/03/2009 17:54

Bleu MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Supper
Fall into happy fantasy for while
Lovely, spicy, kebab?????????
I'm dining alone tonight, so I can indulge whatever pregnancy cravings take me. I have a ball of Buffalo Mozzarella in fridge which I think wants me to eat it slathered with olive oil and garlic. Mmmmmmmmmmm
Might have that for starter, then kebab for main (luckily have a great kebab place pretty much next door)
What I'd really like is a good curry, delivered, of course, something creamy and lush with loads of pappadoums and a side of really really garlicky lentils, no decent curry houses round here though

minush · 03/03/2009 17:56

And then, of course, there's . . . . . PUDDING

LuLuBai · 03/03/2009 17:56

I'm just making supper for myself and DD. It's very much toddler fair I'm afraid - sausages, new potatoes and brocolli followed by yoghurt.

Pizza sounds divine.

They are fully kitted out with waterproofs Bleu. Wouldn't worry. I think with the way things are at the moment they are probably glad to be working (sorry just listening to depressing tales on Radio 4 of ex-Woolworths employees and their searches for work)
