Hi PT,

Well done on the birth & huge hugs to you and Aaron.
Sorry to hear he is Scbu, but its great to know that he will be home with you at the weekend.

Congratulations xx

rosieposey · 12/02/2009 15:00

Oh PT am so sorry to hear that about little aaron. This happened with my DD3 and she was in SCBU for a week so i know how hard it is to leave them behind. Be good to yourself over the next few days and try and recover as best you can - will keep my fingers crossed that he will be home with his mum and dad by the weekend and in the meantime you will be there to give him lots of cuddles and feeds. Thinking of you xx

rosieposey · 12/02/2009 15:00

Oh and congratulations - lovely name!

laidbackinengland · 12/02/2009 15:22

PT - big hugs and hopefully Aaron will be home with you soon.

KT1983 · 12/02/2009 15:37

Just wanted to ask for some advice...

Since about 1.30pm, ive been having regular tightenings in my tummy - It seems to start at the top & get tighter & it lasts for about 1min. They started at 12min apart.
I sat & bounced on my ball for a while & did the stairs a fw times & now its about 6mins apart. Uncomfortable, but not painful.

Im not sure if these are just BH? Or if they are the start of contractions, should I call DP & aski him to get on the train back from London? As im not finding them painful im not sure what to do.
He finishes work at 5pm & would be home by 7pm anyway?

Shall I just wait & see? Do you think they are just BH?

MrsY · 12/02/2009 15:41

Hi -

very quick post - I am home with my baby!

Details and pic on facebook... Am going to bed and will update my mamoth birth story asap!

spottyshoes · 12/02/2009 15:45

Congratulations PT! Hope Aaron recovers quickly and you are all home together soon. x

I promised myself that I wouldn't come on here anymore and moan about the cx that have plagued me for the past 4 days! As I am boring myself so goodness knows how you lot feel. However, I saw the MW this morning who gave me my 2nd sweep (bloody thorough too the ruthless woman!) and they are picking up again. Baby's head is fully engaged and pressing right down and I'm 2cm dilated (only took 4 days ) It has started snowing here quite badly so we have made the decision to send Harry to my mums overnight as a bit paranoid she might not be able to make it over if needed. I still dont think this is 'it' and think I could be another week but DH says I will still be saying that in transistion Who knows! Anyway, i'm off to lie in the bath all night again.

TTFN!

Welcome home MrsY & Meredith. Photos are lovely, very cute - Congratulations again xxx

LittleMissNorty · 12/02/2009 16:08

Congratulations MrsY and PT.

PT...hope Aaron is home with you soon....must be very hard .

KT.....have your waters gone? If not, the hospital won't want to see you until 3-5 mins apart and you can't talk through contractions. Ring delivery suite for advice if you're unsure - they may want to monitor and examine you and send you home. Like others, I had three days of very painful BH / contractions 10 minutes apart which probably meant pre-labour, but I could talk through them (just). Paracetamol, bath and as much rest as possible because it sounds like it won't be too much longer.

KT1983 · 12/02/2009 16:20

No, Waters have not gone & can talk through them fine - So guessing just regular BH
I hope it is the start of something

Thanks LMN

chilledmama · 12/02/2009 16:26

PT-Congratulations on arrival of Aaron but sorry he's not home with you yet

KT-if the pains are high up then probably BH...usually (but not always)true labour pains are quite low down like when you have period cramps. Regardless of BH or not, if they are regular then they are preparing your body for labour so while it might not be immanent, it shouldn't be too long

dinkystinky · 12/02/2009 16:34

Pinktulips - congratulations on the arrival of little Aaron (another lovely name). Am glad you made it to hospital on time but so sorry to hear he ended up in SCBU; DS1 ended up in SCBU so I know how terrifying it is... really feeling for you and your family right now... but the people who work in SCBU are amazing people who are so kind and loving towards their little charges and am sure he really is in the very best hands to get him better. I hope he's home soon with you, DP and your DD and DS.

MrsY - congratulations on the birth of Meredith too. Glad to hear she's finally out and about.

KT - it sounds like you're in early labour to me. It could go on a while (with DS1 it went on like that for me for a couple of days) or could ramp up quite quickly - there's no way of really knowing how long it will take. Go and have a nap or chill out on the sofa watching tv/dvds and have a snack (as if you dont eat, you create adrenaline which can inhibit the oxytocin which releases contractions etc) and try and ignore them as much as possible. You'll know when it turns into something more as you'll start needing to move around more to get comfortable. Good luck.

Spotty - ooh, fingers crossed this is it for you hon; your body certainly has been preparing for the little one to come. Hope Harry has fun at his grandma's (and that the snow isnt too bad) and has a little brother or sister to greet soon.

lardybump · 12/02/2009 16:34

PT congratulations. So sorry Aaron is still in hospital sending you all my love.

Spotty i have a feeling that you will go into labour tonight... Good luck...

KT if they are not painful then I would say they are BH

catstar · 12/02/2009 16:37

Ooh - love the name MrsY - welcome home with your gorgeous girl!

PT - many congrats on the arrival of Aaron
(another great name) but sorry to hear he's in SCBU. Hope you are able to have him back with you for the weekend. Take care of yourself.

Herbgarden - lovely to have a friend bring lunch for you! Much more useful than a bunch of flowers!! Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.

Off to finish the housework now. I really want to go into labour tomorrow so want everything ready .

catstar · 12/02/2009 16:41

MrsY - just seen your photos on Facebook and got caught at a weak moment, so wiping a little tear from my eye. She's lovely xxx

dinkystinky · 12/02/2009 16:51

P.s Herb - sorry you're so shattered; sounds like a really hard night. Hope you have a much better night tonight.

Astarte · 12/02/2009 17:49

Congratulations Mrs Y and PT. I hope he comes out of scbu soon

KT they sound like BH to me, but that's still probably doing something to prepare for labour

Spottyshoes you n me both with the 2nd sweep, fully engaged and 2cm dilated .
Still nothing here though.
Absolutely no 'show' today, which is the first day for a week, bit weird.

Lots of snow though too, perhaps my body is confused?! I'm debating whether to ring my mum and ask if she'll have my 3 overnight. I'm convinced I won't labour whilst they're in the house.

MarkStretch · 12/02/2009 18:24

Congrats MrsY and PT!

lardybump · 12/02/2009 18:44

Astarte pack them off to nanny's house...

Astarte · 12/02/2009 18:56

pmsl there LB, I thought you were advising me to send them to the Nanny!

God I'd love a Nanny, settle for a cleaner, won't be getting either though.

We've just agreed on the final name for our baby girl, I'm thrilled and so is Dh, no compromise needed

lardybump · 12/02/2009 19:10

No there nanny not a nanny..... Are we aloud to know the name??

lardybump · 12/02/2009 19:12

dinkystinky · 12/02/2009 19:29

herbgarden · 12/02/2009 19:30

Congrats Mrsy and PT and sorry PT that Aaron is in the SCBU - must be worrying for you but as Dinky says, he's in very good hands and hopefully all will be well to let him come home by the weekend.

Off to bed.........Nunight and see you in the morning.

Ladies with babies, hope your lo's sleep well tonight and Ladies without babies yet, hope you get a comfortable night sleep if you can !

Astarte · 12/02/2009 19:41
