I know, isn't it lovely? I'm still not sure about the white, though. Mostly because I'd convinced myself that maternity wedding dresses wouldn't even come in white, so had ruled it out - now I'm looking & it seems that they do (& Nutty looked fab, for example) - what's the general opinion amongst you all? White, or do I look for another colour?

BabyBolat · 04/02/2009 11:45

Puzzle it was a pink rabbit from Anne Summers) and the process of elimination worked out it wasn't any of ours!!

i love that Springy is as evil as me as I giggled a little too but am too scared of Boff and Nutty now to admit my evilness!! They will get you Springy with their wheelchairs and crutches!!!

As for glamour, I have talc in my hair and my jeans don't to up - wow that is glowing pregnancy for you!! You could always go for you pants / duvet look for the big day Springy (hee hee)

PuzzleRocks · 04/02/2009 11:49

Ooh - i like the second one. The firt one s a bit hard to see in that pic.

Re the swingers, even if that was "our bag" he was most definitely not my type, too short and thin and hairless. He did however have a MASSIVE one.

PuzzleRocks · 04/02/2009 11:52

Talc in the hair has been my saviour on a few occasions recently.

LuLuBai · 04/02/2009 11:53

White? Hmmm - tricky. I wore white simply because it isn't a colour I would wear much, so it made the dress different from anything I would wear for any other occassion(apart from being white and made of silk my dress was a very simple column which I plan to dye and wear as a cocktail dress).

Buuuut I did think my pregnant friend in her 60s Pucci print empire line looked utterly fabulous. Also white can be hard to carry off in winter when your skin is pale, so it might be nice to make the most of the time of year and wear a rich winterry colour. You would probably look great in red for example (which is a traditional wedding colour in lots of countries in the far east)

SpringySunshine · 04/02/2009 11:53

Puzzle, I think you need to define 'massive'. Are we talking a proper fleshy cucumber?

BB, a rabbit? I was imagining a sort of bullet vibe thing!

& I know - I'm going to be mown down & beaten with crutches - imagine explaining the bruises visible on my wedding photos in the future!

& ooh, I could. It'd be representative, at least. & would solve the 'will it fit?' concern

SpringySunshine · 04/02/2009 11:54

I imagine that was also a concern for your housemate, BB

LuLuBai · 04/02/2009 11:57

A rabbit? For a boy???

My mind is boggling. Aren't they specifically designed for the female anatomy (like the beer slogan 'reaches the parts others can't reach...')

I was picturing something a bit more masculine - eg. a silver torpedo or a black mamba

PuzzleRocks · 04/02/2009 11:58

Springy - Porn ready, exocet missile. In fact you would probably need to be a seasoned porn star to accommodate it.

frostyfrekkles · 04/02/2009 11:58

i'm embaressed at my terrible linking skillls.......yeah the one on ebay is hard to see but it looked a similar style to the others to me and it says it's knee length and a bargain. but then tis a risk i guess buying a wedding dress on ebay cause you cannae try it on. I agree the second one is lovely

I don't see why you shouldn't wear white if you want to springy. why would it matter? It's not as if anyone who gets married these days is a virgin or pretending to be one.

i got invited to a swingers club last year. i nearly went too, and then found out i was pregnant.. kinda of appeals to me in a filthy way, but maybe not now i'm stretchmarky and white haired.

PuzzleRocks · 04/02/2009 12:00

Lulu - maybe he borrowed/stole it and was just using it to erm tickle himself. Maybe he was a hermaphrodite? Why am I considering these things at lunchtime.

frostyfrekkles · 04/02/2009 12:01

and springy, i lost my virginity the year you were born! tee hee!

frostyfrekkles · 04/02/2009 12:02

my mind is boggling thinking of a hermaphrodite using a rabbit!!! How much pleasure could one human being stand? gosh

PuzzleRocks · 04/02/2009 12:04

Someone on another thread a while back mentioned they attended swingers parties but was a bit horrified at one to see a very heavily pregnant women involved with several men.

frostyfrekkles · 04/02/2009 12:07

cripes. that must have been one extremely confident woman!! I'm not sure I'm actually have the confidence to go to one if it came down to it, but i'd like to have because it'd be an experience and a half once in my life. I definately wouldn't have the confidence whilst pregnant.

LuLuBai · 04/02/2009 12:08

My school friend was a virgin when she got married. She's a very good girl.

Poor thing did look rather terrified all day though!

conkertree · 04/02/2009 12:08

lulu - have been looking at slings too as had a didymos last time and loved it - could wear it for far longer than the babybjorn. but he was an august baby, and it was a little warm probably for summer.

This time I am looking at the stretchy fabric ones since it will be small in summer - maybe a calinbleu, hugabub, karrime or mobybaby - but I am going to a sling meet in Feb to have a look and try some one. www.slingmeet.com or .co.uk cant remember which will tell you if there is a meet near you and then you can try before you buy.

lol at all the stories of vibrators being left - mine is very tame but did realise one day that the rabbit was sitting on the bed and the window cleaner had been that day. not highly embarrassing, but in a small village, any gossip will make it round the pub before he'd got off his ladder.

sorry if tmi but one benefit of being too big to lie on your back (my favoured position usually) is the re-discovery of other positions and the increased from having the rabbit involved more easily from a sideways position. mmm...

anyway - meant to be at work and i told myself i wouldnt get caught up chatting today cause i can see me finishing up in a mad rush and people wondering what on earth i have been doing with my time, rather than clearing out files.

LuLuBai · 04/02/2009 12:10

Another school friend used to go to Submission, which is I gather an S&M swingers club. She invited me along but I declined on the grounds of having nothing suitable to wear. Another friend went and was made to take of most clothes before being allowed entry.

PuzzleRocks · 04/02/2009 12:13

Lulu - How does it work, I mean how do people in there know what is acceptable or not? Can people just grope you? I think it would be quite an experience to go and be voyeuristic but the idea of any random bloke pawing at me is horrifying.

LuLuBai · 04/02/2009 12:16

Conker I had a coorie sling at first for DD (they are Scottish) but she was very long and I felt she was too scrunched up, although they are supposed to last until toddlerhood apparently.

Will have a look at sling meets. They have always scared me a bit.

Bleuravin · 04/02/2009 12:17

I'm just stopping in for now as I have to unpack groceries and take a nap before I fall asleep on my feet.

First off- Sex talk so early in the morning without Dh around... oy you ladies are mean!

Second- Happy Birthday Swaliswan!

Third- BB sorry, we're going through a similiar thing with my maternal Grandfather... not fun.

Fourth-Oh those dresses are lovely. I like the first

Fifth-DC like handbags intersting proposition

Sixth- Making my own sling like these...weaving the fabic and sewing it up and have the rings to secure it... they're quite easy to make, see here

Seventh- went to Waitrose, which is an easy walk from my house, and had a good look around and they have tons of eco-friendly baby stuff. BUT Springy, I saw some beautiful candles there, white with flowers embossed on them which I though might make nice table center pieces if you were into such things..also they had some darling little cakes at the bakery...dunno if you have one by you but here's the link to the weeding section at waitross

Bleuravin · 04/02/2009 12:21

not weeding...wedding.. really! [self exasperated emoticon]

LuLuBai · 04/02/2009 12:26

Puzzle - as far as I can understand anything goes. She did used to occasionally tell me about stuff she had seen. I think it is OK to be voyeuristic and just watch too. But you do have to be dressed appropriately. She had a leather dog collar with six inch nails sticking out of it and an assortment of rubberised dresses, cat suits etc with access zips.

LuLuBai · 04/02/2009 12:28

Bleu - impressed. Weaving your own fabric too. I do have a loom but it's only big enough to make placemats

SpringySunshine · 04/02/2009 12:29

Some of these are so pretty...
