Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 09:06

Thanx everyone. I don't think anything's happening, there's more leakage but I'm convinced I'm joining MS and just losing pee-pee. pleasant!!

chilledmama · 21/01/2009 09:08

best way to check is to put in a pad for a while then smell it. If it smells like wee then its wee!

littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 09:09

Ok chilled. That's what worries me, only having half an hour or so before he arrives. It would be awful to see him on a drip because of what my body could potentially do to him.
Just being stupid and over dramatic again. Sorry.

littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 09:10

chilled how disgusting!!!!! lol

Pempe · 21/01/2009 09:22

sorry people this is a bit graphic - but I think I have a hindwater leak, it's definitely not wee, it's been going on for a few days and this morning it's pink-streaked.
What should I do??????

LittleMissNorty · 21/01/2009 09:23

your waters have a very sweet smell - very different to wee....so put a pad in....and if you are worried its your waters, keep that pad as the MW will want a sniff as well

LittleMissNorty · 21/01/2009 09:23

ring your MW Pempe....and put a pad on! Although AFAIK, hindwaters can re-seal. But you should speak to someone.

littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 09:26

Pempe I agree, would definately get anything checked if there was a colour to it/strange odour.
Give mw a call

rosieposey · 21/01/2009 09:27

Aw did you? I really really miss Guildford I try and go back as all my friends are there or in the London vicinity. Dont really know anyone at all in Wiltshire except DH's friends so its sort of by proxy really. I have my place still open at Surrey for this coming September but think i am going to have to transfer to Bath because the commute ( DH and I did it for over a year, twice during the week and weekends as we couldnt bear to be apart but i needed to finish my year ) is going to be too much with an 8 month old. Surrey is a fab uni though and after my divorce it was just what i needed in terms of a new start and self confidence.

I dont know about doing the CPE straight after my degree either as its pretty hard work by all accounts i am just glad that i can do it if and when i want to plus DH is very supportive of my studying (he was just finishing his CIMA qualifications for accountancy when we met) so i know i will get plenty of help with little one.

Can totally sympathise with you about your DD as my 11 year old is probably older than her years because of having older sisters and she drives me bloody nuts, i seriously dont ever take her to hospital appts because am absolutely convinced that i would be admitted due to my BP being sky high - she really is an arguementative pain in the arse too and like you i sometimes feel really sorry for DH who is her stepdad as he has the patience of a saint but even he is tested to the limit sometimes. My other two have their moments but i think on the whole i am darn lucky - my eldest gets on really well with DD3 ( there is a photo of them on my profile together - the terrible two!) but DD2 and DD3 fight like bloody cat and dog sometimes it literally drives me to tears. Dont worry it is a phase, just wish i could tell you how long it lasts thats all as its hard work sometimes!

Thats a really good idea about the work experience thing as it will give him some realistic expectations in terms of how boring it can sometimes be and also how interesting of course There are some great opportunities out there. Lol dont worry about boasting about his acheivements, i would too! DD1 is clever enough she just wasnt very focussed for her maths GCSE and she has always struggled with maths ( as have i - i needed to do mine to get into uni ) but she is on track for a C this year which is great as it will restore her self confidence and this time there wont be anymore six in the morning commutes for two hours for 40 min exams! We were in uni accomidation when DH and i met and we only had till the end of my year not hers to move out of the house as they wanted it for students so we had to move in with DH here in Wiltshire a couple of months before she finished her exams and i feel bad about that for her as i think it was hard on her.

MrsY · 21/01/2009 09:36

From what I've heard, hind waters don't re-seal, but they do replenish themselves, so baby doesn't dry out. I would definitely call the mw Pempe and keep hold of the pad. They like to smell it and also check colour to make sure there's no trace of meconium...

Pempe · 21/01/2009 09:44

No MW out here, it's just my gyno 5 hours away in Athens....any emergencies or things happening before I get to Athens on Sunday would involve me going to the local hospital....which seems a bit drastic, doesn't it? I really don't know, this is my first and I am panicking, just a tad. Not panicking, excited, but you know what I mean.

rosieposey · 21/01/2009 09:49

Pempe, i would definately go to the hospital as they will have someone there who can check you over and confirm that all is well with you and your lo. If this is your first then i really would get over to the hospital asap, im sure everything is fine but get it checked out ok. Good luck!

dinkystinky · 21/01/2009 09:51

Pempe - you're meant to be having a C-sec arent you? If so, you should definitely go to the local hospital to get it checked out as they may need to move the C-sec date forward.

LittleMissNorty · 21/01/2009 09:53

Pempe - at the very least, put a pad on and take note of the colour and smell and ring the hospital for advice

chilledmama · 21/01/2009 09:54

Pempe-how do you feel?

Why don't you do the pad thing for an hour or 2 then give your Gyno a call. Let her/him direct your next course of action.

If its been going n for a couple of days then unlikey another hour or so will cause any problems...good chance its just wee but the pad test is pretty full proof

Hind waters can re-seal but v unusual. I saw a horizon/panorama style programme based in US where they were doing a stufy about it.
Waters continually replenish...its the babies wee!!

Pempe · 21/01/2009 09:59

Ok, I'm padded up (have been since yesterday) my DH will be back from work any time now and I will discuss it with him. Although, I know he will panic and want me to go to hospital, I may call the gyno like you suggested chilled and see what he says (which will probably be 'go to hospital'. I can see where this is heading)
No CS date yet but baby tangled in cord so was getting date on monday

america · 21/01/2009 10:18

How exciting, a lot has happened since Monday!

Congrats OOGS and Luke! And already the first signs of the others arriving too!

KazzaL, I think you are doing great and have huge respect for you for working until the very last moment. I'm using my annual leave to delay starting my ML (a week before the EDD)too as we are a bit stretched financially at the moment and will not be able to use my holiday entitlement in the end of the year.

Hope that your scan goes well Pluto, cannot remember if you were planning for a CS in any case?

The baby's head was 3/5 engaged yesterday and he's putting a lot of pressure on my bladder so I join the wee-club. Two more days in the office and then I'm off for 9 months!

MarkStretch · 21/01/2009 10:45

Morning all, hope everyone is well.

Pempe, I'm glad I'm not the only one in damp pants although yours sounds far more exciting!

MOS- well done that boy!

I got a text this morning to say one of the lovely ladies I had lunch with last Monday had a baby girl at 7am this morning called Isabella.

I WANT MINE NOW!

Was feeling really fed up this morning and went to the post office to collect 2 packages that they had tried to deliver yesterday. Had no idea what they were but they turned out to be Christmas and Birthday presents, and a lot of chocolate, from my friend in Bristol

Today I am going to clean the oven. I am. Really I am.

MrsY · 21/01/2009 10:50

MarkStretch · 21/01/2009 11:04
MrsY · 21/01/2009 11:13

KT1983 · 21/01/2009 11:13

Morning ladies, not had a chance to read up yet, but hope everyone is well?

AnteNatal yesterday was actually ok...Although I did have nightmares last night about labour - They had a plastic pelvis & a doll....of my god, it suddenly hit me that I have to get this thing out of me!!
Ive never really thought about that bit untill yesterday.
Now im shitting myself

ooohhh...Chocolates?? Ive got a cadburys cream egg in the fridge - Breakfast time I think

MarkStretch · 21/01/2009 11:13

scoff scoff scoff

littleboyblue · 21/01/2009 12:01

Pempe hope you ok.

I'm really pissed off. Ds has been screaming all morning and it's driving me mad!! He says "tar" when he wants you to take something from him, so he's emptied his toy box and brought me lots of little bits and pieces screaming tar in my face as he holds object out, so I take it from him and he screams for it back, so I give it back and he throws it at me! So now I've ended up taking all his toys 1 by 1 and telling him he can't have them if he's going to throw them at me and they are now behind the sofa
Also just got the water bill £105, and a letter from my bank telling me they are reducing my overdraft from £450 to £300. I only have CTC and CB going in there and haven't been in credit for 18 months, so don't know how I'm going to get to new balance. Dp has told me I have to pay the standing order on the gas and I think the electric bill. I can't do it over rthe phone because it's his debit card and they'll want to talk to him and I really don't want to go out again to the post office, I have a head ache and want to scream!!!!!!!!

dinkystinky · 21/01/2009 12:11

Breathe LBB! And try and get out of the house (if only for a walk around the block) - the fresh air and change of scene might calm your DS down (sounds like he's just stuck in toddler strop land to me - we've all had to deal with it).

If I were you, I'd also (once I've got some fresh air and had some chocolate) get on the phone to the bank to enquire why they are reducing your overdraft and challenge it - it may be you can get them to keep it at its current limit.
