Ahhh that's lovely Dinkymum...congratulations to you all.....are you on our FB group? What are your initials?

spottyshoes · 26/01/2009 15:34

Awww lovely photo's Herb - she's scrummy!

And great birth story Dinkymum!

Everyones having babies, everyones having babies la la la! Soooo exciting.

I still dont feel prepared yet but have spent the day shopping for wood, new gate and power tools (hubby was never fixing our back gate on his own! It's been broken for nearly a year). Gate is fixed! Mini Greenhouse is assembled, lots of lovely salad and veggie seeds are planted and tucked away nice and warm. Utility room gutted, downstairs completely mopped and swept and labour bag now 3/4 packed! Am just sitting down with a cuppa whilst DS finishes his nap. I now feel the urge to make some lists for some reason............

Hope everyone is well. IDBI should have had her baby by now

Pempe · 26/01/2009 15:41

I know I shouldn't complain about waiting - and I'm sorry if I've made people feel bad, if they are expecting to go to 42 weeks

Was just in a self-sorry mood. Not helped by the fact that DH can not wait in Athens with me for what could potentially be another 2 weeks, and understandably has to get back to work, so is leaving the day after tomorrow. Will miss him.

Right, snap out of it now, girl.

KT1983 · 26/01/2009 17:08

Dinkymum Sounds like it all went pretty well for you - Glad everybody is home, happy & healthy

Ive just attempted baking some Scones for some odd reason!
Ive never done them before in my life - They actually turned out ok, will wait & see what Dp's reaction of them is when he has a sample.

No more babies yet then? any more signs of any coming?
None from this neck of the woods thats for sure

catstar · 26/01/2009 17:18

Hi there Ladies! Congratulations new mums ! It's all starting to become very real. My TENS machine arrived today so feeling a little more prepared.

Can i just have a little moan . DD not been well at all with this infection thing and we've been house bound for since Thursday. Virgin connection been down too so no internet or CBeebies . Then DH decided it would be nice of him to desert us for the weekend while he gets his "last" mountain bike trip in before the new arrival. Have felt very lonely and isolated . Not much sleep either!! Only good thing was a Grey's Anatomy box set to plough through.

Still, more positive this morning. DD on the mend (although skin still a mess), sun shining, I insisted on having the car for the day and went to Wisley for a wander round and piece of cake, internet connection back on and some lovely news here about the new babies! Herbgarden, that's a stunner you have there!

I haven't caught up with the whole thread - don't think I ever will now!! Hang in there everyone!

MrsY · 26/01/2009 17:28

Hey all

herby - she's beautiful - brought a tear to my eye!

Dinkymum - we wanna see some pics! sounds like you had a pretty good time.

Pempe - get yourself a birthing/exercise ball to boune on and bring the head down...

catstar - sorry to hear about your weekend - boooo to DH - glad DD is on the mend.

Went into DAU today and BP is back to normal, but they're still getting protein in the urine, so I'm back in on Wednesday for a growth scan and consultant appointment during which I may get a date for an induction - crumbs!!!!

Pempe · 26/01/2009 18:04

MrsY - I have a ball at home which I've been using and loving - couldn't bring it with us, unfortunately, but the girls do have a space hopper which they have offered me the use of.....surely the same thing?!?!

nkweto · 26/01/2009 18:19

Herbgarden.. Amy is lovely.. what a great photo !

Dinkymum.. lovely to hear your birthstory, feel all teary now...

onwardandupward · 26/01/2009 18:20

dinkymum worried about boring us??? boring us??? Don't you realise we are all avidly reading your birth story thinking "awwww" with hearts melting?

OP posts:
thehouseofmirth · 26/01/2009 18:21

Absolutely Pempe. Get on there!

Herbie your baby is beautiful!

Catstar sorry to hear abou your crappy weekend. We love Wisley so if you ever fancy some company let me know!

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 18:21

Pempe What a bugger!!! You must be so frustrated! What an anti-climax. I'm sure you haven't made anyone feel bad, wse'll all know exactly how you're feeling when we get to DD and nothing happens as you naturally build up to that date don't you? I did last time and when nothing happened I was so

dinkymum lovely

catstar glad dd is improving. Very of your Grey's boxset.

Went to see consultnt today, he was very blase about everything and agreed to induce!! Yay!!!
He said (quote) "As you're 38 weeks tomorrow, there's no problem inducing at this stage at all, you're at a good stage so shouldn't be a problem. Lets do an internal if that's ok and see how your cervix is doing"
So he pokes around and says "Right, you're cervix is nice and soft, it'sd ready and I could actually break your waters right now but think it's a bit early so how about next week?"
We are going in tuesday morning, they'll hook me up to AB's and ideally want me to have 3-4 doses but will give 1st dose and then break waters, he said it could take until weds morning for baby to arrive.
I feel so relieved! Just to know that it'll be nice and calm and planned for someone to get here for ds and also will be controlled at the hospital so am less in a panic about the whole thing.
However, not sure if dr has dislodged/upset something as now have killer back pains and not too sure about the crampings in the bump. So after spending the past 6 weeks praying something would start sooner rather than later, I now really want to hold out till next week.
I've also just snapped dp's bank card in half (in tescos which resulted in me crying) so have no money whatsoever.

thehouseofmirth · 26/01/2009 18:24

I have lost my appetite. Do you think this is significant or just a sign I couldn't sustain eating my own body weight in pancakes indefinitely?

thehouseofmirth · 26/01/2009 18:30

LBB good news about induction (unless the internal today has already kick started things...)Pain about bank card but the bank ought to be able to send a new one very quickly and can your DP get into a branch to get some cash out in meantime?

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 18:36

Hi thom dp has called them and they will send one out due to arrive in 3-4 days. They also gave him a code to use on a NATWEST machine. He has 3 hours to get to a machine, type in this magic code without using a card and it will give him the ammount he told the call centre peron he needed so he's just gone to do that.

Still getting back pains and cramps even though have spent past hour laying on sofa doing nothing, told dp I wasn't moving for the rest of the evening. But as you all know I am the most paranoid worrier on the planet and am really quite concerned. I did think at the time when he asked to do an internal to just say no.....

at the pancakes.....I lost my appetite the day I went into labour with ds, had cooked pizza for my lunch but only managed half. Yes half.

MrsY · 26/01/2009 18:40

lbb he should be able to get money from a branch. great news about induction, but maybe something will happen in the meantime - don't worry if it does, there will still be time to have a few doses of the anti-b's. Just call them asap...

thom is Wisley the one between the A3 and the M25? I think my sister and I use it as a meeting place when I look after my neices, as she's in Portsmouth, but we've only ever stopped in the car park and maybe had a quick cup of tea - is there much to do? If so, maybe a good venue for a meet up in the spring/summer?

Oh dear - just saw a thread about how many shoes people have, and I counted mine, and now feel a little Imelda Marcos. I have about 90; but I do wear them all and I love them so! Even madam has about 15 pairs that we've either bought or been given!!!

MrsY · 26/01/2009 18:41

lbb - x posts! that's a bit fancy in't it? Am pleased that you have once less thing to worry about - just have a nice restful evening with your feet up!

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 18:43

MrsY Yeah, he'd be able to get some from branch but he at work all day and I need the money as don't have a penny!!!!! Also, if something does happen tonight re: labour, we need cash to pay for a cab for my dad to get her to look after ds so I don't have to grab the little monkey out of bed.
Is Wisley the little village by Woking way or is that Bisley?

MrsY · 26/01/2009 18:50

Think Wisley is near Woking (it's just past Leatherhead on the M25, I think), but it's not a village. It's RHS gardens, I think the one with the greenhouse - that right, thom?

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 18:53

Village, garden, all the same
Maybe Bisley is the village. We lived in Woking for years and always drove through _isley(?) to get back to Putney

thehouseofmirth · 26/01/2009 19:08

Wisley would be a good meet up place when weather is nice though if you're not a member it's quite expensive to get in. Wisley also does have a village though think you may mean Bisley as Wisley is a bit off the beaten track so I'm not sure you'd go through it (thogh I could be wrong).

Another nice garden down A3 is Painshill Park.

MamaGoose · 26/01/2009 19:55

Wisley Gardens is the RHS place off the A3. Bisley isn't far but is somewhere different. Clearly ran out of ideas locally also given proximity of closely named Chobham and Cobham. It's all the local area where I grew up!

Can I make a plea for the summer meet up in July!? We are supposed to be in the UK for the whole month!

Cocodrillo · 26/01/2009 20:53

Just caught up a bit with thread.

I've forgotten nearly everything I wanted to say though .

What a beautiful baby, Herbgarden! So chuffed for you!

Glad to hear that Sian's back home, too, TBM.

It sounds like it's about to happen for lots of you, so will try to keep up better.

Pempe I can't believe what you've been through - a motorcade to Athens . Or did I read that wrong

I've still got 3 or 4 weeks to go. I should get my elective date this Friday, when I'll be 36 weeks, but have been told that the hospital won't do electives before 39 weeks because of the risk of breathing difficulties.

DD2 was in ICBU/SCBU for 3 weeks so I'm desperate never to go near that place again.

I'm really scared about the CS, as have never had surgery before. A well-meaning friend told me to take in a piece of rope to tie onto the bed, to use as a pulley after the op as I'll have no abdominal muscles intact. It just brought home to me that this is a major op, rather than necessarily the 'easy' option.

Cocodrillo · 26/01/2009 20:58

And Lardy I'm so sorry about your traumatic experience - I hope you and DD are starting to feel better. It's so easy to fall at the moment, when our centre of gravity is way off, especially those of us who are lugging toddlers around. Thank goodness neither of you was more badly hurt.

It's funny, when I was pg with DD1, I remember being reluctant to pick up a friend's 8 month old, in case it "hurt the baby". Now I'm forever lugging my 2-yr-old in and out of her car seat etc., and think nothing of picking up my 4.5 yr old to put her in the bath - when she weighs 18 kg!

dinkymum · 26/01/2009 21:06

Sorry it was a little rushed! lol I'm still working out how to do pictures on here. I am on face book my initials are SJ. there are pictures on there.

What I forgot to add was for a bout 2 or more weeks now i've just felt like he would be early went on a frenzy buyinh spree as well as just my body and recognising things from last time etc. but ppl kept saying I was paranoid and things lol so listen to your instincts ladies!

Cocodrillo · 26/01/2009 21:21

Fab birth story DinkyMum. How old is DD? I hope she's settled back into nursery ok. I remember DD1 (who was 2.6) shooting little hurt looks at DD2, but they love each other so much now. When DD1 was at school today (she's recently started) DD2 kept suddenly stopping playing and saying "DD1 ... gone" and looking all sad.
