Dandy glad the baby is doing well but sorry you're having a worrying time. I suppose the best thing to do is to hang on to the positives, like the fact that you are both doing well just now, plus I'm sure the medical staff have seen this problem many times before and know how to handle it appropriately. Keeping my fingers crossed for you things carry on going well x

Dandy sorry to hear you are having worrying time but as spangle says, sounds like the hospital are taking good care of you. Look after yourself.

Divedaisy Thanks for the list I can't even remember how many weeks I am let alone contemplating working out everyone elses atm

I just had a very decadent mid morning nap and me n DH who is also stuck at home are going to go for a walk in the snow! On Monday there were some fantastic snowmen and an igloo in the local park, makes a pleasant change from the giant snow willy someone built last year!!

dandy sorry to hear that the artery prob is still there but v glad they're keeping such a close eye on everything and that you're both well despite this.

lol runningmonkey at last years snow creation!

runningmonkey · 05/02/2009 12:52

It was pretty impressive - I didn't see this but apparently it made an appearance on the local evening news in the background of one of their outside broadcasts

pulapula · 05/02/2009 13:01

sausagenmash, I'm also interested in your job too. didn't know such injections existed, but am aware that puberty seems to be coming earlier for girls than was i was younger, and the thought of DD going through this at a young age is very worrying. How early do they consider "early" nowadays and whats the norm?

Belgianchocolates · 05/02/2009 13:11

Spangle Your worries about the arteries makes my own SPD problem pale into insignificance. It might be uncomfortable, but at least it doesn't affect my baby in any way. I presume they're just going to scan you regularly to keep an eye on baby's growth and when it looks like your baby is struggling they'll probably intervene. It must be a worrying time for you.

I think I've seen a picture of that snow willy last year you know. Amazing what some people can make, even if it is a bit

It's snowing again here too. It snowed overnight. Stopped for a bit and now it's carrying on. Surprisingly the dc's school didn't close though.

My chickens aren't enjoying the snow. The seem to be at a loss about where to scratch around and do their normal chicken thing, so they are spending most of their time underneath the garden table. Our white chicken now looks off-white in the snow, but I don't think she'd appreciate having a dunk in the bath! The cat isn't enjoying the snow either, she's spending her days sleeping on various beds.

flippineck · 05/02/2009 13:14

Dandy - glad things are ok at the moment, and it's good you're being monitored so well. Hope thingss continue to go smoothly.

Re nappies again(!) - nothing more to add to the reusable bit for now (think I've said enough! but happy to answer more questions if anyone has any. Anyway, if you're interested in 'eco' disposablem there are a number of brands you can try. Most aren't widely stocked in physical shops (althoug some health food shops stock them), but you can buy them in online. The Nature Baby have already been mentioned by pp, Mothercare also stock them. Other brands to look out for are Bambo, Moltex and Tushies, among others. I think that Moltex get better reviews than others, but not 100% sure. So Organic do a trial pack of the eco disposables so that you can try them without having to buy a boxful here. I've ordered from So Organic before, pretty good service.

I was quite shocked to see the updated list too! 26+6. Flippineck indeed.

pulapula · 05/02/2009 13:26

Dandylioness- sorry to hear your worries, but at least you are being closely monitored.

I'm excited as i have just purchased a nice changing bag in the sale- see www.jellybeangroup.co.uk/display_category.php?cat_id=7&results=all. It's a ju ju be bag - a reasonably big one but not the giant one i was thinking about. Its still £49 incl. delivery but considering the same bag in different fabrics is anything up to £82 and its the fabric i wanted (brown/blue) then i'm really happy! There are some good sales on the other designs too (have to resist buying more!).

Belgianchocolates · 05/02/2009 13:29

Hmmm I said spangle before, didn't I. I meant dandylioness really. Anyway. Just to mention it again. It's good to know that the problem has been picked up and is being monitored. They'll be able to intervene if necessary. All the best.

llareggub · 05/02/2009 13:37

dandy I took baby aspirin for the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy on the advice of my GP. I did google it and was pleased to discover that it is used to manage/prevent pre-eclampsia, so sounds like with the increased monitoring etc you'll be fine. I have more scans, frequent consultant appointments and I'm trying to look on it as positive. Better to know and deal with things than not know and have an emergency, right?

DS was so cute earlier. He curled up on my lap and fell asleep, and was snoring ever so gently. We've had lots of fun this morning with paint, although he insisted on painting in the nude and ended up with a very blue willy! So then I had to convince him to have a bath instead....

Polony · 05/02/2009 13:41

Thanks for the tip on usednappies.co - oops I can't remember if it was Dive or Sausage who posted that - but I checked it out and it looks a goer. I didn't find the choose a nappy quiz that helpful either - too many neutrals and I realised when I did it that there were now four other nappies I had to look into (ha ha pardon the pun).

Polony · 05/02/2009 13:44

What exactly was he painting WITH Llareggub?

llareggub · 05/02/2009 13:45

He's a fiddler....won't leave it alone!

pulapula · 05/02/2009 13:50

Llareggub, your posts made me laugh (blue willy and fiddler ). My DS is nearly 20 mo and hasn't really discovered his willy yet- have i got all this to come, or do you think he's just not interested if he hasn't discovered it by now?

llareggub · 05/02/2009 13:52

I think you have all this to come! I just try to ignore it when he pulls it so hard and tells me "look mummy, it's big!" Honestly, all boys are the same!

llareggub · 05/02/2009 13:52

Or at least, that's what DH says...

Jael · 05/02/2009 15:11

Just popping in to say hello briefly. Haven't been round alot, been to busy trying to pack. Get keys to the new house tomorrow, so doubt i'll be around again for a couple of weeks, until were all sorted. Hope everyones ok.

Jael X

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 05/02/2009 16:08

DD2 fiddles with her 'front bum' all the bloomin' time. She's either got her hands down the front of her pants, or she's heaving a 'reggie' (wedgie - her older sister teaches her such lovely expressions) out of her bum.

Oh, that's when she's not picking her nose and eating the results.

I keep thinking about sending her to charm school, the horrible little goblin

runningmonkey · 05/02/2009 16:11

Back from walk and lots more snowmen to report and guess what... one 6ft tall with a giant willy!! It was being built by some teenage lads who all stood back giggling like beavis and butthead to let us admire it on our way past. Seems boys are all the same!

Good luck with yourt house move Jael

Do we need a new thread soon? Will have a think about titles.

By the way, anyone got a really hairy belly? Its gross, altho after DH and I had a conversation about how I keep misjudging gaps I can fit through suggested they might be 'bump whiskers' I think he thinks this pregnancy malarky is just an excuse to make jokes about my various bodily changes!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 05/02/2009 16:31

runningmonkey

lol @ 'bump whiskers'!

Belgianchocolates · 05/02/2009 16:33

My ds used to play with his willy when he was little. He used to wrap it around his finger in a sort of non thinking telly watching way It made me cringe looking at it, so I used to tell him to stop doing it. Now he's 7 he's grown out of it though. I'm sure he'll rediscover it when he gets to his teens.

I've now got an outy by the way. In the end it will stretch completely flat, that's what happened with the other 2.

I've also noticed I'm gaining about a pound a week. I remember with the other 2 that picked up a bit at 32 weeks (probably by a pound a day, cause I ended up gaining 4st twice )

I had some rainbow bamboozles arriving today that I had won on eBay. Brand new and £6.50 each in size 1. They feel and look so much better than my old kushies and seem like they'll last better too. They've got poppers, but seem to be very adjustable. Can't wait to try them out. There are 2 yellow ones in there as well in perfect breastfed baby yellow. Perfect for stains I thought . I need about 5 more nappies and then I think I'm there + a few wraps too. Has anyone used the fleece wraps in the past? I'm thinking about them for summer, because they must allow for a better airflow, but I'm a bit worried they might not be as waterproof as the plastic kind.
