I've taken it upon myself to open this thread as there seem to be quite a few SW19 mums-to-be.
My ante-natal thread on here (March) is huge and I just can't keep up!

Anyone wanna join me?

Hello everyone! Hall we sort out Ante natal list into date order when everyone's added their details?

Ante-natal
Fruity - EDD 22nd March(Boy), DS aged 3.5, Merton Abbey
Thehouseofmirth - DS2 EDD 11th February, West Wimbledon/Raynes Park (D1 3.5 yrs)
WobblyPig -
Hadeda - EDD 29 June, DD aged 1, Raynes Park
Wheelybug - 13 March, DD aged 4 (on sat !), NM
Bozette - EDD ? July, DS aged 16 months, New Malden
BellaHarry - EDD 6th Aug (baby no.1)

TTC and post-natal
Turtle - DS 9 months,
kmp - DS 6 weeks,

FWIW I conceived whilst still breastfeeding. At that point DS1 was almost 3 and was still feeding a minimum of 3-4 times during the day and crucially was NOT night weaned. There are quite a few of us on my Ante Natal thread who will be tandem feeding so don't feel like you must give up if you don't want to.

kmp1 · 19/01/2009 23:20

hey fruity i use to stay just off fulham palace rd too!

turtle23 · 20/01/2009 07:59

I used to live in Fulham too...Bishop's Rd by Parson's Green tube. Fruity-how did we not meet before? We worked and lived in all the same places...

FruitynNutty · 20/01/2009 09:09

Maybe we've passed each other without even realising
Such a small world, what with meeting houseofmirth on the St.G's tour as well!

Definitely sort the list out once we've all added our details. It's a bit confusing as it is

No problem, I'm a bit new at all this!
It's suddenly hitting me how soon it is until life turns upside down again. Finish work at the end of next week and then count down the days.

katieblirdsnest · 20/01/2009 19:41

Assuming most on this thread will be giving birth at St George's (if not at home)...I had DD1 there and the labour went well the only problems I had was the labour ward was so full I had to wait for an hour in the waiting room and then was put in a delivery room for about another hour before a midwife was assigned to me. From then on it was all fine and the MW was lovely, I spent a lot of the time in the big bath they had as there was no space in the Rainbow suite as was.

This time I'm hoping to go into the Carmen Suit and especially hoping to use a birthing pool. Am actually quite panicky about not being able to be in water as it worked so well last time. I visited Carmen when I was in the hospital for another appointment, there was no-one at all in that day so I'm really hoping it will be easy to get in.

Does anyone have any experience of the suite?

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 20/01/2009 20:12

Hi. Can I join too please. Fruity and BellaHarry can vouch for my good character and all round niceness!

Am 15+4 with DC3. DD1 is 7 and DD2 is 3. Live in SW19. Due 10th July.

DD1 was supposed to be in New York, but 9/11 got the in way . She was born the day after in Greenwhich, Conneticut USA. DD2 born at Kingston Hospital in the Midwife led Malvern Suite. Booked in for more of the same with DC3 at Kingston.

Wobblypig Just gotta fill in your details and it's all done

Katie No experience of the Carmen Suite but desperately hoping I can get in too. Those labour rooms on the labour wards are tiny! I was originally hoping to bring in a birthing pool just in case I don't get into Carmen but you can't even swing a cat in there
If it's any consolation, we were told people normally assume it's full up in Carmen so don't even bother to ask which means there is normally at least one room free. Also I reckon the lack of pain relief in there might put people off - I hope you get in there!

Just popping in to say Hello !!

OOh 3rd on the list - that's a respectable place, not too soon that I should start panicking that i haven't done anything but not too far away either.

Did I say I was going to have dc2 at Kingston ?? Probably am just repeating myself. Sadly unlikely the Malden MW suite but hopefully not theatre either .

turtle23 · 21/01/2009 16:54

Nooooo Wheely...you will be having the Malden Suite.

kmp1 · 21/01/2009 18:02

HI all - I feel kind of out of place without having one on the way!! My 6 week old is keeping me busy though, and not putting me off trying for another as soon as I shed the ds weight!
Houseofmirth whre are you in West Wimbledon? I am too!

thehouseofmirth · 21/01/2009 19:33

kmp1 I'm in Cambridge Road. Where are you?

Hadeda · 21/01/2009 19:57

Katie - I had DD at St George's, we missed the opening of the Carmen Suite by 2 days! One of my NHS group had the first baby there. I think 3 of us in total used it and everyone had good things to say about it. 1 had a water birth there, other 2 started there and moved down (one for an epidural, other for emergency c-section as baby had somehow managed to tie a knot in the umbilical cord!). They all thought it was good.

When we were doing the tour, they told us you could move down to the usual delivery suite if you wanted an epidural etc so you can start in the Carmen Suite and move if you want/need to. I think some people seem to have been told otherwise, but that was the position then.

Busy day today - I'm at work Wed to Fri so the end of the week is always manic. Hope everyone else has had a good day!

kmp1 · 21/01/2009 20:39
