swampster · 19/01/2009 09:42

I will be wearing an over shoulder boulder holder big bra and a cloth nappy...

lardybump · 19/01/2009 09:44

I am hoping the belt will be ready really soon..... thanks MrsY and LMN that is really appreciated and I will keep you both in mind...

Hope you have a lovely day ladies...

dinkystinky · 19/01/2009 09:46

Lardy - sorry you're suffering so much Is there anyone who can come round and help out with DD (family, friends?) by taking her out for a run round in the park every so often so you dont have to struggle so much. Am sure she's loving spending so much time with you, just you girls, so while you're feeling guilty for not doing lots of fun things with her, she's actually enjoying having lots of mummy time.

Best of luck getting a date today McDreamy. And good luck to Calico too with her referral.

I agree with Swampster - London Aquarium is great for little people, my DS loved it when we went there earlier this year.

MrsY · 19/01/2009 09:50

What time will people be leaving the meet, today? My train ticket costs about £20 so want to make sure that it'll be well spent! Don't think I can get there till 12:30, so would be gutted if everyone leaves after half an hour/an hour...

thehouseofmirth · 19/01/2009 09:50

LLB there's a M & S SimplyFood at Waterloo staion. I think from memory food at RFH cafe is largely bread and cake based...

I have no idea what I will be wearing but I am 5' 3", have shoulder length blonde-ish hair and DS is 3.5 with shoulder length but much blonder hair.

lardybump · 19/01/2009 09:56

Ladies when DD was little we had a baby bjorn carrier, but I really wanted a sling this time can anyone recommend a good one that is easy to use from birth??? If I cant go out I am going to do some online retail therapy today

littleboyblue · 19/01/2009 09:56

Right, I'll pop in there and get a pre-prepared pasta lunch or something. Not sure how he'd be on cake, on the times |I've given him some, he's just killed it! hahaha.
MrsY I'm in major hurry to get anywhere after so I can hang around if everyone else leaves early. If I don't get a move on, I won't be there before 12:30 either

littleboyblue · 19/01/2009 09:58

Is there high chairs? Ds won't sit on a big chair and will scream bloody murder in pushchair......

MrsY · 19/01/2009 10:01

i'll leave now-ish and might be able to get in a bit quicker...

littleboyblue · 19/01/2009 10:16

Leaving now. See you all in a bit

thehouseofmirth · 19/01/2009 10:17

think there are high chairs

laidbackinengland · 19/01/2009 10:36

Lardy are you sleeping with a pillow in between your knees - I find it helps loads with SPD pain - but it needs to be quite a thick pillow (depending on the width of your hips !).You will get through this .

dinkystinky · 19/01/2009 10:40

Lardy - I've got a baby bjorn but have gone for a Close sling too this time (from thatcuteage.com - really quick delivery and cheaper than elsewhere) as looks like a good beginners sling (as part set up already and instructional dvd to watch with it). Have only tried it out with teddies to date.

Think if you try slingmama.co.uk it has lots of guides to different types of slings. McDreamy bought a really pretty one the other week (cant remember where from) and Spotty has recently done a thread elsewhere on slings where kari-mes, mei-tais and storchenwiegges (god only knows if I spelt that one right!) came in for review/praise. Try doing a search for slings in thread topics and am sure tonnes will come up.

Enjoy your retail therapy.

MarkStretch · 19/01/2009 11:05

I AM MISSING YOU ALL ALREADY! I WANT CAKE! I HAD TO MAKE DO WITH AN APPLE AND SOME NUTS AND IT IS NOT THE SAME!

dinkystinky · 19/01/2009 11:19

Markstretch - want me to post you some?

Calico1 · 19/01/2009 11:34

Hope you have a good London meet up - I won't be there either as DS is poorly today- croup I think, he woke several time in the night with a barking cough and now has no voice.....

Eat some cake for me! x

MarkStretch · 19/01/2009 11:48

Yes please Dinky. Am going to make some mackerel pate to console myself.

lardybump · 19/01/2009 12:16

Thanks for the help with the slings dinky I am going to look that up now.... I have been craving pate and smoked salmon today but cake sounds good too but like MS I dont have any and am not going out at all today..... We could start a new business of a bakery that delivers how good would that be.....

chilledmama · 19/01/2009 12:24

lardy-sorry you're feeling down. We're almost there now though.
The Moby wrap has a brilliant write up for use from birth (even for preemies) and is availabloe from loads of websites. I've never read a bad report!...that's why I bought one for this time around!

OP posts:
lardybump · 19/01/2009 12:25

Is the moby wrap easy to assemble and use....

mumoverseas · 19/01/2009 12:52

I'm so jealous of the cake/meet-up.
MS, that has decided it for me, I will move to Nofolk when I get back from Saudi and we can have our very own cake fest. I'd be really grateful for any info you can provide about the area, rightmove only tells you so much!

Lardy, sorry you are still suffering. SPD is a bitch isn't it. I'm getting so pissed off with people commenting on the way I'm walking/hobbling as its so hard to even take a few steps now. Seeing consultant tomorrow and might see if I can take anything other than paracetamol for pain. Also wondering about crutches. Are they helping you at all?
I think a lot of us are getting fed up now with all the aches and pains/sleepless nights etc. I felt bad this morning for being snappy with DD (2.3) but its such hard work trying to keep up with her when feeling so crap. I'm sure it doesn't make us bad mums but I feel guilty about it too. Never mind, not long now.

MarkStretch · 19/01/2009 12:59

Yay MOS! What's your email? Or shall I facebook you?

mumoverseas · 19/01/2009 13:03

god I'm sooooo dumb at the moment, good job I'm not working my brain has turned to mush.
Just realised I forgot to give you my email address. It is [email protected]
just googled schools in Diss for a mooch
(trying to keep my mind off everyone else scoffing cake!)

MamaGoose · 19/01/2009 13:28

Hello all

Am trying to keep up! Am v jealous of London meet up.

My friend was due two days before me and she had her baby on Saturday. I am so so jealous !!

Thought it was all go for me on Saturday for a bit - the braxtons went mental, I felt really tearful and very niggly but it all went away... bet this little monkey will end up being late now. And there I was worried about having another premmie!

Missed a conversation a few days ago about nursing tops and whether you buy those special ones from Mothercare. Definitely not. I just wear loose-ish normal tops that I can yank up a bit and sling a cloth over my shoulder. Baby hides your belly anyway and it looks like you're cuddling. I'm a discreet feeder rather than a loud and proud one - I'm too embarrassed - but I like being back in my own clothes again!

MamaImpatientGoose xx

chilledmama · 19/01/2009 13:32

Lardy- Its a basic stretchy wrap...obviously not as easy to put on as something like BabyBjorn but it only took me 2 practices with 'Big Bear' to feel confident about wearing it. Beauty is that once you have it on you just pull it open at front and stuff baby in or pull out...no need to continually take on and off like the wilkinet (that I had last time). It is apperently really good for breast feeding as you can do loads of different positions with it but I think that will depend on how good your LO is at BF...DS was absolutley rubbish grip wise and had to be held on with 2 hands until he was about 7 months!!!
