If i call them ill have to go in i know what they are like and they will give it the better safe than sorry speil plus the risk of high bp and all that with the diabetes. My shoes are tight and my rings really needed to come off but i think thats pretty normal from what your all saying. Think i will take a leaf out of LLB and MrsY's books and see if i can get some quality sleep tonight then if im not too knackered will get the 9.47 tomorrow I have no dodgy symptoms to speak of and apart from feeling tired and having fat legs and ankles like most of us on here all is well ill see how i feel tired wise in the morning and probably make my way Lundin-bound Will remember my insulin and i WILL have some cake - oh yes!

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 18/01/2009 19:57

I keep meaning to catch up with this thread, I was offline for a couple of days then kept waiting till I had time to catch up properly. I think I'll leave off catching up and just slot back in.

MrsY · 18/01/2009 20:07

Hey TBM - we've had a few visits to DAU etc., but all babies seem to be staying put for now! How are Tink, Fifi and the rest of the family doing? Fifi still feeding well?

herbgarden · 18/01/2009 20:12

Hi again Rosie- I had lots of swelling with DS from about 7/8 weeks before he was born (he was 2.5 weeks early in the end) so think it's really normal but second what Dinky says re them already keeping an eye on you etc - mine was mainly ankles but they were really fat - amazed me how quickly they went down after ds was born though.

MrsY - I haven't experienced the lip swelling but a good friend of mine had it in her last pregnancy late on... together with lots of other swelling.

ALso, just remembered something (given my hideous nights sleep last night due to snoring from still pregnant and overdue and being monitored ward mates last night) which I was going to pass on. Last time I had my emergency CS-I managed to get a room off the ward which we had to pay for BUT as we have health insurance and as it was an emergency and not elected the health insurance people paid for it - something to bear in mind if any of you end up with an emergency CS and have insurance. I always thought anything childbirth related was exempt but seems not.....

MrsY · 18/01/2009 20:26

herby - it's weird, though, because I don't have any other swelling. Not hands or feet or anything...

OMG - is anyone watching this Half Ton Son thing? Jeez... Talk about killing with kindness. Makes you think how easy it is mess up your kids! I keep thinking of that Philip Larkin poem that every teenager reads and identifies with so much!

oooggs · 18/01/2009 20:30

I can't keep up with you lot

laidback.......... no baby here but dreadful backache and may have to meet up with you around Easter time as very of the meetup tomorrow

catstar · 18/01/2009 20:35

Hello - just a quick skim read to check you are all still chatting!!!

See that there should be a few of us tomorrow - I'm certainly planning to be there at the RFH, probably about 11.30ish so that I can survey the cake lunch choices for DD!!! I'll be the tired, pale one .

Better be off - been a busy weekend, house a tip and there are piles of laundry everywhere.

Hope everyone has an uneventful night .

thehouseofmirth · 18/01/2009 20:41

Half Ton Son thing very sad and scary. MrsY have you read the Adrian Mitchell riposte to the Larkin poem:

They tuck you up, your Mum and Dad
They read you Peter Rabbit, too.
They give you all the treats they had
And add some extra, just for you.

They were tucked up when they were small,
(Pink perfume, blue tobacco-smoke),
By those whose kiss healed any fall,
Whose laughter doubled any joke.

Man hands on happiness to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
So love your parents all you can
And have some cheerful kids yourself

dinkystinky · 18/01/2009 20:42

THOM - will text you my no now (almost called you by accident a few minutes ago anyway so you'll probably have my no as a mystery no on your phone!)

Herb - top tip on the insurance/private room - emergency c-sec thing.

MrsY - never had the swollen lips thing but when was pregnant with DS had swollen pretty much everything else towards the end, so doesnt surprise me that lips swell too. Think you may need to relax the whole no liquids thing though if its causing your lip to split - ouch... Would be lovely to see you tomorrow if you manage to sleep tonight. Same with you Rosie. And LBB. And everyone else umming and ahhing about it...

TBM - nice to see you back on the thread. Dont worry about catching up, just slot on back in. Hope the night out and funeral went well, Tink is recovering and Sian is still being an angel baby

MrsY · 18/01/2009 21:03

THOM That's so lovely, both John and I had a little sniffle at that...

dinky I've tried to drink more during the day, so we'll see if that helps. I feel a bit less blocked up now, so might be able to breath through my nose better tonight, which will help, I hope.

rosieposey · 18/01/2009 21:07

Right then so just to make sure - i need to get to Waterloo as thats the nearest tube yeah? Will see you tomorrow unless i have a really crappy night or im a huge marshmallow in the morning ok

TBM hope alls going well with Sian and Tink is on the mend - wb

littleboyblue · 18/01/2009 21:09

If I do come, I'm coming in at Waterloo.

dinkystinky · 18/01/2009 21:13

Yep, waterloo is nearest station/tube to Royal Festival Hall.

rosieposey · 18/01/2009 21:15

Cant get on facebook either - its the royal festival hall cafe isnt it? God my brain is utter crap for memory retention

littleboyblue · 18/01/2009 21:17

I can't get onto FB either. Was trying to get on as think someone has posted directions on the group page. Sure it'll be up and running by morning, or I'll just ask someone at station.

rosieposey · 18/01/2009 21:19

Ohhh btw i had a pregnancy moment yesterday lol and dyed all of my hair from blonde to reddy brown - itll be blonde again in a few weeks, i do this about once a year and always go back to blonde ... you cant miss me though with my mahoosive bump Ill just look for a table of pregnant ladies

Questionkid · 18/01/2009 21:25

Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to make it tomorrow. I've had a pretty bad weekend in terms of feeling rubbish, I guess that's being v nearly 38 weeks for you. In short I think I've got SPD plus I'm really quite puffed up, which is so uncomfortable. (As of Thursday last week my BP was fairly normal so I think the puffiness is just a late PG thing). The self-diagnosed SPD is another thing altogether though, I'm SO uncomfortable. I've had the symptoms for a good few weeks now (generally very sore and achy in the groin area, especially when getting up, climbing stairs, opening legs to get out of bed etc) but hadn't thought too much about it, I just presumed it was a PG thing too. But it's got much worse and I'm starting to wish I'd mentioned it to my MW earlier as I'm now worried that with potentially only a couple of weeks to go that it'll be too late to do anything about it.

Anyway, enough rambling. Basically I got about 3 hours sleep last night because of feeling so uncomfortable (plus my own snoring) and today I'm still not feeling good. I also don't know that I could manage the journey - stairs are a problem, actually just generally walking is a problem and my back seizes up if I'm upright for more than about 5 minutes at a time.

If I wake up feeling full of the joys of spring tomorrow then I'll be there, but at the moment it's not looking likely.

thehouseofmirth · 18/01/2009 21:26

It's Royal Festival Hall cafe which is in the foyer.

How to Get there

LittleMissNorty · 18/01/2009 21:34

Evening ladies

I'm feeling the same as most of you...very puffed up, can't stand/sit or lie comfortably for more than 5 minutes and am snoring so badly, am dreading being in hospital in case anyone complains about me....fingers crossed a private room will be available.

2 weeks tomorrow I will have my baby.....I can't wait!

Oedema only a problem to ring up about if face swells significantly accompanied by headaches and visual disturbances AFAIK....that's what my MWs have always told me.....I'm walking around in a pair of sandals with no socks on atm....people must think I'm bloody mad!

Hope you all make it to the meet-up OK....I'll come to one in the summer.

pinkspottywellies · 18/01/2009 21:49

Yeah!! Spotty, come to Norwich We're going to La Tasca.

chilledmama · 18/01/2009 22:25

OK...weekend officially over...DH on his way back to work!
He decided that this weekend would be a good time to take bathrrom door down, sand it and all other wood work, and repaint! Didn't occur to him to bloody cover anything in the kitchen (or anywhere else for that matter) and as a result I've spent all afternoon washing the kitchen utensils and every other bllody flat surface...he had the nerve to accuse me me of nesting. He wont make that mistake again!!!

OP posts:
MrsY · 18/01/2009 23:08

yum, I love La Tasca.

FB is back up for me...

Pempe · 19/01/2009 06:09

Morning Question - sorry to hear you're feeling uncomfortable, and hope you got a better night's sleep. I can relate I think - I didn't know about SPD at all, but have just had a quick google because your symptoms match mine and think I have it. Should I be telling anyone, is there anything I can do?

mumoverseas · 19/01/2009 06:44

morning all, very jealous of your meet up today, wish I could go but I guess travelling 3,000 plus miles is pushing it a bit.

Calico, hope your appointment goes well today and that your OH is going with you for moral support/beating the crap out of doctor if you don't get the right answers. Fingers crossed for you.

Herb, sorry you had a bad few days but glad all ok now. I did wonder when I didn't see you on here for a few days.

Dinky, homemade fish fingers and marshmallow tea? Are you some sort of domestic godess? AND, you haven't even started your maternity leave yet!!!

Have just made a pink cake with DD which is in the oven. Thought I'd make the most of being able to do stuff with her now as I don't think I'll be able to do anything much in the next few weeks/months. SPD is getting worse and am seeing consultant tomorrow for last check up before CS and am tempted to ask/beg for an earlier date

KT1983 · 19/01/2009 06:45

Morning all,

Not had a proper catch up - But Im guessing we dont have any more babies yet?
I had a moment yesterday when I was questioning what was happening in my tummy...
I was getting very sore lower back pain & alot of sharp pains down below. Feelings ive never had before? It took my breath away - went on for about an hour or so & I was beginning to think 'this is it!'

I thnk perhaps maybe I just overdid the swimming & Davina exercise DVD...When will I ever learn

Im 37 weeks today, starting to think more & more about when & where its all going to kick off. DP is very excited about it all, of course I am too, but nerves are beginning to get the better of me.

eejaykay Im Katie Le Feuvre on facebook, if you can find me?
