Congratulations Spink!

I hope the news of babies is motivating some bump action down here!

Stripey..I too am tucking into another mug of raspberry leaf tea, I have become strangely fond of it now ...hope it actually ends up working, as opposed to just making me need to pee every 20 mins due to the vast quantities I am consuming.

EachPeachPearMum · 07/01/2009 16:04

Congratulations Spink!

stripeywoollenhat · 07/01/2009 16:05

hkz - i think it's absolutely disgusting, but worth it if it helps....

lambskinmmm · 07/01/2009 16:07

dog - go have a bath that should slow it ... or think about hospitals that may do it.

doyou have a bith centre for plan b or is it hospital? either way... if baby's coming, baby's coming just enjoy. I did lots of thinkingduring week 37 about the prospect of hospital.. i know it's not the same, but you can still make it YOUR experience if you have to go in. be strong.

good luck, let us know how you progress.

Periwink · 07/01/2009 16:10

Moose - I know .... my baby is also quiet today, baby is moving but not with the usual kicks - but moving around slowly and gently anyway.

I really should be necking the raspberry leaf tea but really cannot stomach it, makes we want to throw up!

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 16:11

Congratulations Spink. Bloody marvellous!

A baby!!

How you doing dog?

hkz · 07/01/2009 16:11

GTDAHB- are the braxton hicks still coming on strong? Can you have a bath or shower to try and take the edge off them and relax?
Hope you get through to DP... lots of soothing calmness and positive thinking vibes being sent your way

LenniEd · 07/01/2009 16:28

Hi all, just a quick one. In labour!! Back home for now... just as got to hosp the shoulder dystocia alarms went off in unit and lots of screaming and running about and my labour just completely ground to a halt. Cried a lot. They did exam anyway and was 2-3cm despite all the trauma so things definitely happening but decided to come home to get the adrenaline out of my system and some lovely hormones going again. Cx now very painful again so think will go back in soon once had a snack. Feel a lot calmer again. And DH managed to find postie and got TENS on the go.

Had 3 cx in time taken to type that and am having to moan a lot now so hopefully next time I'm on will have a baby!

CONGRATULATIONS Spink

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 16:31

Go LennieEd!!!

Brilliant. Great you scuttled out too, very sensible of you! Get your lovely snack and maybe have a last fold of those baby grows to get the hormones flowing.

Brilliant. Very here!!

Ahhh what a busy day!!!

congrats Spink

Go Go Go LenniEd

Any news on tink? Hope your tightenings have amounted to something!!!

Went to my post NCT class coffee morning this morning. lovely, and seeing the two babies has made me want my bubba right now!!!!!

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 16:52

Well done for making the meeting mmray - I know you had a bad night so great you got there and enjoyed.

Think will have to go to bed, having the achey bones and wobbly chest getting a cold feeling which would suck big style.

Lovely lovely dh took himself off to a maths class as he wants to up his GCSE grade today. Bless him. I organised it for him to 'keep his chin up' during the redundancy. It went fine so hope he enjoys it.
Brought myself to speak to Jobcentreplus about maternity allowance too, they have all my paperwork and it has been awarded thank lord. [Took 20 mins and 3 numbers to get to right people though ]
Have been turned down for sure start grant - bit gutted we need the money. DH on contributions based job seekers as he had a job, not means tested for those who didn't....so we don't get the grant. Fair?
Off to check how the mortgage insurance claim is going...then cuppa and paracetamol and bessie mate Tens in bed for nerves, aches and random tightnings!!

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 16:58

congrats Spink - thats fantastic! see you on the other side .

Go Lenni, Go!

Yoohoo Tink, where are you???

GTAB - take it easy and try and rest until you get to active labour... you'll want all that lovely energy then. Good luck!

Oooh, am so excited. Full moon at 3am on Sun, maybe its started its work already!

lambskinmmm · 07/01/2009 17:11

dog - just a point.. i don't know what your plan is or relationship with MW.. BUT If you call them and tell them you're at hole and staying there, they have to come out to you. Just in case you didn't know that.

largeginandtonic · 07/01/2009 17:20

CONGRATULATIONS SPINK!!!! What fabulous news

Come on Lenni!!!! You are very sensible to come home and let it all happen naturally. Sure you will be tucked up with your LO before midnight

Oh lovely babies everywhere all of a sudden!

DOG have a bath and relax, hope dh becomes reachable soon!

Tink what did the midwife say?

I saw mine this afternoon, she recommended lots of sex a curry and a pineapple. DH is making curry as we speak and i have a bit of slap and tickle on the menu for later too. Sweep booked for end of next week if i am still here.

moosemama · 07/01/2009 17:22

Good luck LenniEd hope its swift and sweet from here on in!

gtdahb glad to hear you got hold of DP. How are things now? I had really strong BH type contractions for 3 days with DS2 then a really easy labour so maybe you'll make it to Friday after all and have the easiest birth ever.

Tree the whole benefits thing is so complicated and never seems to benefit the right people when they really need it. Have been in contact with my niece today and she's having terrible problems, no money to buy formula or to get herself to the interview she had lined up for this afternoon and no way they could/would help her. So frustrating. Didn't help that Mum sent her a cheque and accidentally put 2008 on instead of 2009 so she couldn't cash it or put it in the bank.

Have just been doing homework with DS1 and he has been in tears over a Biff and Chip book about evacuated children and the blitz in World War II. We had to have a really long talk about how it was really sad and horrible and its important that we remember them etc etc. He flatly refused to read the rest of the book as was in floods of tears so I had to read it to him instead. Has now gone off to play computer games to cheer himself up.

tinkwantsherbaby · 07/01/2009 17:36

seeing midwife tomorrow

MsSparkle · 07/01/2009 17:49

Congrats Spink! Feeling abit

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 17:50

me too! what with Lenni and Spink on their way, I'm almost tempted to go and smell the clary sage again. Anyone else given it a go? Don't want another night like last night without a nice vbac baby out of it!

OP posts:
treedelivery · 07/01/2009 18:10

I could just fancy a pineapple actually. D'you think the juice works as well, or the pre packed. Prob not as its enzymes etc isn't it that are meant to do the trick, and they probabley degrade once the fruit is exposed or even picked.

My dd has been a manic unsettled stressed litle thing today. Currently sobbing over some minor thing. She'll have an ulcer by 5 will my little worry wart. Really feel for her, but also feel would like to run out of house screaming....

Need this baby out. 38 week hormones incompatable with mothering role.

largeginandtonic · 07/01/2009 18:26

I think it is supposed to be unripened pineapple Tree, i have been drinking the juice with my spatone every day and nadda!

Will be getting pineapple tomorrow and will be using clary sage too, she IS coming out.

I looked at my labour pattern as someone started a thread about it today. It goes like this

Twins were born at 8.41 and 8.43PM SATURDAY
DD born 8.30PM THURSDAY
DS3 born 1.40AM SATURDAY
DS4 born 8.20PM THURSDAY
DS5 born 4.40AM SATURDAY

So Thursday or Saturday then?! How very bizzare.

Moose your poor wee ds, what a sensitive soul he is One of mine is like that, he stews over things and asks lots of questions. Bless him.

So anymore babies then? Rray where are you?

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 18:35

Well G&T looks like a Thursday then! This one or next?? What do you fancy?

Your ds sounds like me and my dd too, Moose. It worries me - my hope [secret as any child will of course be a gift] for dd2 is she's a mad bonkers whirling dervish of giggles and fun. DD1 is sensitivity personified. Have even bought a book on sensitive children but had to stop as pregnancy hormones made me overreact to everything!
