Massive congrats Spink, and hope it's going well, LenniEd - how exciting, I can't believe it's all really happening for us at last....

Nothing happening here but did just buy the cutest pair of sheepskin boots for the baby from the just sheepskin website. I think OH is hoping the baby rocks up soon just so I will stop buying stuff!

Tree I have a book about handling sensitive children too (title eludes me at the moment).

DS1 is very sensitive and can really be empathic over certain things but still manages to have issues with understanding how 'his' behaviour affects other people and reading how other people are feeling based on their facial expressions and body language. That said, I will never forget him crying pitifully in his pushchair when he was about two because the music a busker was playing on a violin was so sad! However he also has a wicked sense of humour and can be a real clown that has us all in stitches.

DS2 has always been a big bundle of hugs, cuddles and smiles, nothing seems to phase him much which is why the hospital trauma thing was so hard to cope with. That said, after two days back at school he seems to have bounced right back and is a really happy little bundle again!

MissHairspray · 07/01/2009 18:46

Congrats Spink that is fab news, hope you get her out of SCBU soon.

Go Lennied, hope yours turn in to something Tink. we have to have more babies soon

Rather than quietening down my LO went mad last night, spent a good hour or so thrashing around. Still in the same position though so no idea what that was about.

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 18:54

I'd say it looks like a thursday for you too LG&T!

I'm dreading going to bed tonight!

Dog My ribs were a little bit sore yesterday. Has your bubba dropped down/engaged? as since bubba engaged my ribs have hurt less, i think there is less pressure on them. Still a bit Achy though!!

Tree i REALLY didn't feel like going to coffee this morning.. Was shattrered after my sleepless night, but nice to see ladies & bubbas.

Largegin&Tonic Afraid i'm still here..... would like to do a labour vanishing act soon though.

FLF not tried any Clary Sage yet, but going to pick some up when go into town on friday.

Friday, am having pre- labour prep (So i'm hoping that sods law will kick in and thurs night i'll go into labour) legs, downstairs wax and pedicure, so i'll be all ready to display all! Although i'll happily display all if she would be so kind as to come Thurs night!!

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 19:44

wow - house sounds amazing! all that moving will be great for bub positioning, not for you esp. if the ribs are hurting. I got sore ribs from the baby kicking them, but not from the opening out! Sounds horrid

rrrayray · 07/01/2009 19:53

Dog House sounds fantastic!!!! You MUST makesure you get ALL the help you can with the moving, moving is stressful enough without being about to drop!!!

Qumps ...Did we Cross post, or are my Posts not working.....??

LOVE to be missing in labour action... Afraid not so!

rrrayray · 07/01/2009 19:57

Actually... wanted to ask tree or anyone rather more knowledgable than myself....

have noticed tummy this evening getting REALLY ROCK SOLID from time to time. Not painful, but have been having sore back all day, and slight periody Cramps at times. Thought tightenings must be Braxton Hicks (Hurrah, something Works) but... i'm sure my midwife said BH should cease if walking around... mine don't seem to? Am i LOOKING for good signs, or is this actually a good sign???...Or maybe i'm just Full of Dinner

EachPeachPearMum · 07/01/2009 19:58

dog- could you really move before the 30th?
My due date with DD was 30th jan... but we moved christmas eve, so we had a month to get straight (and she didn't arrive until feb 4th anyway )

I had forgotten curry was supposed to help- made an enormous chicken and veg curry today- mostly for freezing, but had a huge portion for dinner - eek!

I'm not quite ready to have him yet....

m/w tomorrow for me, 38 weeks.

I haven't bothered with the raspberry leaf tea this time either - isn't it for contractions? Well- I've been having plenty of BH so theres no problem there!

Hope all goes well tonight Lenni!

rray - those tummy tightenings are what I assumed were BH contractions - mine only go away if I lean over a table or something; and periody-type cramps sound promising! I've had those for the past 2 weeks on and off. Keep us updated! Probably just making appt for the labour preparation has brought it on. I was just thinking I should do the same. I can't even see down there these days!

missjackson · 07/01/2009 20:09

and meant to say Dog I think go for it if the house is right - you can just order everyone around, and all the activity will surely help things along!

Ach- 4 bedrooms for barely any more money sounds fabulous.... but I cannot even contemplate moving atm!

How many DC do you have already?

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 20:13

rrrayray - some people find bh and indeed any pain eases when they walk around. There are no rules though as I can cause them by walking around! My uterus is what we call irratable [like it's owner] and just begging for an excuse to get tightning.

They sound very braxton hicks like to me but only because the 'real deal' leave you in no doubt at all as to what they are. I found and find in mums that 'period pain' and 'back ache' and all those words and descriptions just get chucked out and replaced by moo's and groans and various face pulings!

I don't know where the line between bh and 'tightnings' is drawn in terms of sensation and pain [except that bh don't affectthe cervix] , but I guess it's probably fluid and different for everyone as per ususal. It's all so so vauge mother nature - how about some rules!?

Well, there is a rule. Contractions generally get longer stronger and closer together. Student Midwives mantra!

It's all a good sign though, but then not having them isn't a bad sign, if that makes sense!?

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 20:14

ray, sounds like braxton hicks. its all pre-labour really. mine don't stop whatever I do and can be every 3 mins, last for a minute and carry on like that for bloomin hours.

Tree i'm in no doubt theses aren't the real deal.... I'm far too comfortable. No, i'll rephrase that, as i havent been comfortable for weeks... but they aren't at all painful... no Moo-ing here!

Dog house sounds like an offer too good to pass up. I can see why your considering it, even if moving 9 months preggers does seem crackers!! Raspberry leaf, from what i am told/ read, doesn't induce labour... but tones the uterine muscles, for a speeder, more efficent Second stage of labour. As you may have noticed, some people think its gross, me, as a non tea/coffee/hot drink drinker at all- i'm finding it OK. They also do raspberry leaf in tablet form too though, but i've run out, so on the tea until i can get to health store!

Missjackson I know, i can't see "downthere" either. I remmeber people telling me i wouldn't be able to, but its so funny not being able to. I can easily still see my feet... but lady garden LONG gone. Thank goodness the girl who does my waxings is a absolute Gem. Am going to be telling her to get as much off as she can!! Hey... i wonder if waxing could send you into labour? Heres to hoping!

FLF Your pre labour sounds like its getting more and more labour like! Sending good labour vibes!!!

Am thinking of having a bath and hitting bed already, after my sleepless night last night, i'm shattered!!!

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 20:30

tree, sounds like sex is the only option then as that will help the cervix ripen.

EachPeachPearMum · 07/01/2009 20:32

dog- I 'm with you on the parking- it's a nightmare where we are too- made many times worse with trying to herd little ones to the car I'm sure! ( I just have DD atm)

Yes- rental prices are dropping here too, which is good news I think for many people, as rents were pretty high -especially when you look at the quality of housing available. (and 'Yah boo sucks' to any buy-to-letters :P It's extortion, and money for old rope in most cases)

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 20:38

rrrayray - no mooing here either. But enough to keep me thinking about them. Oh really don't want weeks of pre labour.....

SO flf!! You feeling game? Urgh I can barely manage to rally self to reach my cuppa!

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 20:40

House sounds exciting. May as well grab it if it seems ideal, moving now not easy but who is to say it will be easier in 6 months witha bubba, or in a year when pregnant again...
