hello, just posted on other thread then noticed you are all over here!! I am a bit excited (and a teeny bit scared!) cos my waters just broke in bed!! DH is just changing sheets and then we;re going to try to get more sleep as no contractions as such yet, just periody painy pains.
Get the flags and pompopms out girls, hope it is a straightforward one so we get to stay home!!

ah the leaky joy of broken waters ha ha

FLF - good on you for starting the new thread. And I can tell you IT BLOODY IS!!! woohoo
Dog - bummer about the swing
tree - I would've been straight in there of course with the sex but now I 'm not allowed, sorry
Moose- hope you're sleeping well this very moment!

rrrayray · 07/01/2009 04:23

Good luck Spink - hope baby Spinklet is here already

Think we are on the go here too. DH just taking DD to PIL now. Had contractions since 11pm last night, getting more painful and longer now. Hoping to hold out until my TENS machine arrives in the post and then go in. Early labour feels soooo different with your waters intact. Much less painful. Here'e hoping that after 12hours, 2 baths and a fair few paracetomol this can't be the first false alarm of this thread.

MsSparkle · 07/01/2009 10:57

Morning all,

7 days over, no baby

Exciting about spink! I wonder how she is getting on?

MM they said 40+12 for a possible induction, they haven't booked me in yet but i will be 40+12 on Monday so this time next week the baby will here. I really don't want to be induced, i still go all funny remembering the feeling of my waters being broken.

When i saw the midwife last Wednesday, she said someone would be contacting me to arrange a midwife to come round and do a sweep. I haven't heard anything yet though. My normal midwife was off to have her hand operated on and said she wouldn't be back until after new year. So i am wondering if i have been forgotten about?

lambskinmmm · 07/01/2009 11:02

TREE - well done you AND LUCKY HUBBY. I've promised mine for next week as I approach due date.

Sparkle - (my friend had a baby last week and called her sparkle by the way)... what's the story on a sweep. I was told I'd have one if i get to 41 weeks.. It's quite an intervention isn't it? what do you know about it?

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 11:05

Goooo Spink! Had actually logged on to look for Tinklet. Spinklet must be nearly here by now though... how exciting!

Lenni, you go girl! I've had contractions all night since 8 too, but they come and go. grr.

Sparkle - give them a call, does sound like you could do with reminding them!

I had so little sleep that I burst into tears when DP tried to go to work today. Too emotionally and physically exhausted after a night of contractions to cope with DD on no sleep. Went back to bed and he was still here when I got up at 10. What a star.

Hi all - very exciting about waters breaking!

I'm all for bedroom activity...

MsSparkle · 07/01/2009 11:14

lambskinmmm, when i had a sweep last time the midwife just came to the house, i had to lie down and she inserted her fingers and swept them against my cervix. It's unpleasant but not painful. Didn't work though.

I found the 3 doses of prostaglandin they inserted in me when i went in for my induction were much more painful!

lambskinmmm · 07/01/2009 11:29

so is it right that Sparkle... 4 little feet AND Tree are all in labour right now??

stripeywoollenhat · 07/01/2009 11:38

lenni - hope it's going well. (is it like buses? you wait for ages and then two labours come along at once?)

just back from midwives' clinic and my normal midwife was back after christmas and was not impressed that we had been freaked out by her colleague last week, so feeling much better about things. she said that the main thing was to believe that i am able to do it, as tension is really unhelpful - of course, until last week's clinic i was fully confident that i could. working on positive attitude chez stripey for the rest of the week... (she also thinks it'll be at least my due date when the small one joins us)

flf, sorry about the unproductive contractions, hopefully they will calm down and you can take it fairly easy today

fourlittlefeet · 07/01/2009 11:41

I'm in pre-labour. It can last for years, y'know . I need a grrr emoticon, do you think I should ask them to create one?

MissHairspray · 07/01/2009 11:51

Morning all, just had MIl on phone telling DH I should be cleaning, running up and down the stairs and having sex. Eeew, We did actually do it this morning but having your MIL tell you too is just plain yuk. It didn't do much for me and doesn't seem to have done anything to shift babs yet anyway but I am kind of pathetically cheered and grateful that DH doesn't find me totally repulsive. Sad I know, my feminist principals seem to have reduced in proportion to the size of my stretchmarks.

Good luck spink and Lennied, at least one of us has to have their baby now. Can't wait to hear about the new arrival.

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 12:44

Hello all, bugger all happening here and even slept!
DD is mardy and tired and the place a mad house. Hormonal frazzles!!

SOOOOOOOOOoo excited about Spink and Lenni. OOOO wonder what is happening.

How you Tink?

LenniEd · 07/01/2009 12:46

We're going in soon - contractions 3.5 mins apart now and lasting about 50 seconds. Getting to point where can't manage the pain very easily. Sent DH out to look for postie and hence TENS machine before we go!

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 12:50

Yay LennieEd!! Keep cool girl.

Hope fecking postie turns up soon!!

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 12:52

If not ring hospital they might have one for you ready to go....or maybe you will just have your baby and no tens required!!

LenniEd · 07/01/2009 12:53

I'm trying Tree! Wish they'd get longer instead of closer together though, don't want same thing happening as last time. God I'm having to type bloody quick!

12 minutes til Post officially late! Special Delivery meant to be here before 1pm. Bloody hell! Ow, ow, ow... going now. Wish me luck

stripeywoollenhat · 07/01/2009 12:54

fantastic lenni - hope you get the tens and if not, that the small one doesn't loiter about (after you get to the hospital, of course)

EachPeachPearMum · 07/01/2009 13:01

Oh- I was just going to say no one is due today!
GL Lenni!
And Spink of course....

No signs here- like dog- went over by a week with DD, and sex kick-started labour. Don't think I'll be doing that this time round- hurts too much now!
