BlueSapphire77 · 07/01/2009 13:17

Morning!
Due today so send baby vibes my way been as two of the ladies on here have started without me lol! This thread obviously doing the trick IMO

Had a minor water leakage last week and been having useless contractions since but only on and off.. last night they were raging period type pains and lower back, kept thinking, is this it? Then woke up at 6 this morning and no it wasn't they'd flippin stopped

Don't want baby tomorrow cos its my evil ex's birthday yuk don't want to be reminded of that evil frog

Does anyone know how the girls are getting on that have gone in already?

treedelivery · 07/01/2009 13:20

Yay Tink!!

Blimey anyone would think there were people around here trying to have babies.....

lambskinmmm · 07/01/2009 13:25

has anyone tried acupressure.. my friend swears by it.

fymandbean · 07/01/2009 13:27

lenneid - has your tens arrived>???

moosemama · 07/01/2009 13:35

Gooooo LenniEd and Spink!

Sorry for everyone who didn't sleep last night. Bizarrely I slept really well, better than I have in months then got up at 7.00, did 3 packed lunches, fed, washed and dressed 2 kids, checked schoolbags, did up hats, scarves, coats etc waved goodbye and went back to bed at 9.00 where I slept again until 11.30 when the Kleeneeze lady came to collect her catalogue. Then back to bed and slept till 1.00 when DH came home for lunch!

I cannot believe I have actually had some sleep! I even look better (bags under eyes still there but much smaller and less puffy).

Am thinking maybe its my body's way of conserving energy ready for going into labour - well I live in hope anyway!

Only other thing to report is that I have come down with yet another cold - but I don't care because I slept!

40+4 today and baby very quiet, moving around but in a lazy sort of way rather than lots of wriggles and big kicks - calm before the storm?

hkz · 07/01/2009 13:47

Good luck LenniEd and Spink, how exciting, babies on their way!

I just seem to get endless braxton hicks and period type pains and the heartburn is back after disappearing for a few weeks. (Heartburn probably due to vast amounts of food I have been consuming for the past three days...)

Oh well, one week to go...

Hope thinks get a move on for all of you who are overdue and waiting...lots of positive labour vibes being sent out

elkiedee · 07/01/2009 13:53

Hoping we can look forward to at least two of our January babies turning up very soon, LenniEd and Spink.

I had some good intentions for my first day of maternity leave, but went back to bed for a couple of hours first - I tripped over, luckily in just the right place to fall on the bed (!) and haven't done a lot since.

missjackson · 07/01/2009 13:56

Oooh how exciting, finally got a chance to log on, and see that Lenni and Spink are underway!

Here in sunny but freeeeezing Wales, I am feeling like a mammoth whale, but no signs yet - officially 11 days to go, but the baby isn't engaged yet - am envious at your 2/5ths engaged rray, that's got to be a good thing in the right direction?!

Going to the health store today to buy clary sage and that tea - haven't tried it yet. Am also going to do lots of bouncing on the ball which I finally got OH to blow up today, better late than never! Have been making out like rabbits throughout, so I don't think that's going to make any difference. Have no idea how OH can find me remotely attractive any more though - but maybe he is thinking of something else!

In between wishing the baby would come, I am trying to appreciate the last few days of freedom, and am trying to sleep etc - but with a new house to furnish and settle into, there is soooo much to do. Have such a manic urge to SHOP.

Broadband is rumoured to be arriving in the valley on the 12th, so I'll be able to keep up with the rush that is no doubt due upon us.....

xxxx

GTDAHB and FLF... I'll have some of what you're having please!

Instead of having spontaneous orgasms in my sleep I dreamt about re-grouting the shower and packing boxes...highly exciting.

EachPeachPearMum · 07/01/2009 15:03

Is anyone who isn't a first timer thinking how much quieter babies are when they're still inside?
missjackson your post made me think of first time with DD- we moved house at 36 weeks, christmas eve...

You can get soooo much more done without the baby around

Spink · 07/01/2009 15:11

yay! we have a baby girl, born at 11.27am. not the hb planned cos of meconium in the waters and nearly inducedas nno ctx til 9am. but then it all happened in 2 1/2 hrs and 3 pushes! can@t believe it. dd (dd!!) in scbu - breathing probs but looking better all the time and hope i can hold her soon.

lenni - go girl! and hope everyone else is good x

Congratulations Spink

Periwink · 07/01/2009 15:36

Ahhh Spink - congratulations, hopefully you will get the ball rolling for the rest of us.

Moose - when are our babies going to arrive?

Today 40 weeks + 4 days. Had my midwife appointment today she offered me a sweep but I decided to hold off so am now booked in for a sweep on Saturday and then if nothing another one on Monday. Also booked in for monitoring and a scan to check amniotic fluid levels and placenta tomorrow afternoon. Midwife also gave me some homepathic medication to take to try and get labour started. Am booked in for induction on the 15th Jan - dear god please please let my baby arrive before then - I am petrified of induction!!!! 8 is my lucky number so maybe baby will arrive tomorrow - wishful thinking ..... going for for a nap and then a bounce on my birthing ball!

fymandbean · 07/01/2009 15:44

congratulations spink!

stripeywoollenhat · 07/01/2009 15:45

congratulations spink! hurrah! first january baby!

am having a "delicious" cup of raspberry leaf tea, and feeling jealous

lambskinmmm · 07/01/2009 15:54

well done spink... i didn't share the journey with you so far but still thrilled for you... and very green ith envy, like others i'm sure.

i'd be interested to hear how the transfer from hb to hosp went just when/if you get a minute.

Congratulations Spink!

Am having a weird day here, baby still pretty quiet but moving, had tonnes of sleep and then felt really energetic when went to the school to fetch boys. Feeling a bit more tired now though.

Periwink it's got to be our turn soon, surely! We are both booked for induction on the same day, lets hope neither of us get that far!

stripeywoollenhat · 07/01/2009 16:03

dog, don't know what to advise (useless first timer) but don't panic. is there anyone else you can call if it doesn't settle down?
