LenniEd - terrifying!

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 29/12/2008 20:38

very jealous of those with tigger husbands... mine hasn't been like that for ooohh, 15 years?

Lenni, very excited about labour cont... keep us updated. I'm having to sit down as the running has made everything feel very unstable and a bit painful, can't tell if its labour or my pelvic floor giving up the ghost!

I know what you mean about the choking; I stop breathing when DD does it. Very glad she was ok. Mine also says 'no like it'; wonder if they are all using the same dictionary!

LenniEd · 29/12/2008 20:39

Yep it was tree - she was tipped up getting very firmly patted on the back before she knew it though. She used to semi-choke quite a bit when she first started on solids, prob due to her reflux so I've had a few scares, but today was frightening. Just glad it wasn't anything worse than tomato.

hey - 36 weeks here at last....

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 20:40

Only been married 18 months - it won't last. So will get him floged and get all major DIY projects out of way before he builds himself a shed.

Rest up four, maybe a support belt if you have one?

Oh yes and....Tens!!

moosemama · 29/12/2008 20:41

flf, warm bath and feet up time methinks.

LenniEd, if you think I can talk on here, its a good job you've never actually met me! Family failing I'm afraid, visitors to family do's etc are constantly amazed and outpaced by us (too many girls in one family you see).

Poor DD and poor you, its horrible when that happens, can remember having to do the whole dangling DS2 upside down thing when he choked once, was a really scary experience for both of us. Its no wonder you are having contractions!

Tree, DH hasn't actually been back on his board since that accident. But then again if he will try and skate down an extremely steep hill without bothering to notice the articulated lorry parked half on the pavement halfway down, really what did he expect!

LenniEd · 29/12/2008 20:41

Not sure if mine was ever like that FLF, in fact I wasn't aware tigger husbands existed until today.

It is like learning another language having a toddler around. I am constantly translating for her

I don't have a tens. Heard so many mixed reviews as to whether it was good or annoying. Gave the one my mum lent me back and didn't bother this time. Maybe I'll reconsider!

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 29/12/2008 20:42

Am finding glass of red wine quite helpful though .

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 20:43

Lenni - shudder for you. Happened when I was child minding at 14 the little boy got a meat ball stuck. He stopped coughing which I've since heard is bad, and went blue, which I knew at the time was bad! Picked him up by his feet I remember, and wolloped him so hard the metaball hit the floor and bounced!

Have a lie down and reboot your adrenaline stores.

moosemama · 29/12/2008 20:44

18 months? Ah still in the honeymoon period then.

We've been together for 22 years in February and married for 16 (I was a child bride of course).

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 29/12/2008 20:46

congrats moose! thats amazing going. whats your secret

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 20:48

22 YEARS!!!! We've been together 5 and that's by far the longest I've managed to not be irritated to death by a man.

Respect moosemama!

moosemama · 29/12/2008 20:50

Secret? Make sure he knows who's boss!

Nah! Not really. I think we've been very lucky. We've spent long periods of time working and commuting together during that time as well and very rarely get sick of each other's company.

Mind you, it definitely helps that I'm bossy and he's quite passive and laid back.

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 20:52

22 years!! Shouldn't you be buying a 2nd home in Spain and thinking of spending the winters somewhere warm? And shouldn't your children be bank rolling your appartment in Barbados [thats why I'm having children and I assume why everyone else is too]

Sadly I now realise that in 22 years I will stil have 8 to go on the mortgage and all the kids will be at home asking for £50 for a night out and a packed lunch for work in the morning. And my mad old mum will be in the spare room hoarding things. Sigh.

moosemama · 29/12/2008 20:56

I guess that's what we get for not having kids until we had been married for 10 years. We weren't having kids just lots of dogs actually - can you tell?!

Not wanting to appear a total old fogie, I should perhaps point out that we started going out when we were 16.

moosemama · 29/12/2008 20:58

Crib pieces are out of the box! Am in shock!

Think I shamed him into it by telling him I'd reported him to you lot!

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 21:01

I sometimes feel very young, and very daunted, and very much like I am leading some other grown up's life when really I'd rather be buying silly high heels.

Bit bloody late now at 33 years of age and 37 weeks! Weren't we all 18 and fitting in smaller bra's about 3 years ago?

moosemama · 29/12/2008 21:08

Hmm. Silly high heels never really were my thing. More of a Dr Marten boots girl meself I'm afraid. Good thing is I can still wear them at the grand old age of 38, although not when pregnant as they are so heavy they wreak havoc with hip and pelvic pain.

I don't think we ever really feel like grown ups, in fact looking at my parents generation I think we hit a certain age and then start to regress.

Definitely have plenty of panicked omg who left me in charge of these children moments though!

Smaller bras! Unfortunately not, have always been cursed with huge boobs. (Although not always as huge as they are at the moment obviously - 34J and counting!)

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 21:13

Exactly moose, doesn't matter if you start an A cup or an E cup- they just get bigger and bigger. Mine thinking of moving into new alphabet as ours can't accomodate them. Perhaps Russian.

Although witch oout of hell [perfectly nice lady in Debs] told me I'm a 40 [40!!!] E. Bugger that! Prised self into 36G and staggered out.

moosemama · 29/12/2008 21:16

Right am off to help DH with crib. The man is truly hopeless with flat packs, good job its not Ikea, their stuff stumps him every time!

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 29/12/2008 21:49

oh my. these braxton hicks have started feeling very very not like hicks. eeek.

rrrayray · 29/12/2008 21:51

Tree You are crackers agreeing to the entertaining all those people! If you can't get out of it (which is sounds like, besides being in labour you can't) Then you should DEFINATELY be asking people to BRING bits. if everyone brings somehing to drink and nibble, you'll have plenty! think that is OH's job to call everyone & explain that! You are rather heavily preggy after all!!

moosemama Totally with you on the sleeping thing, it seems to take me ages to get to sleep, and then when i do i wake every 20 mins or so, and then have a bout of insomnina about 3-4 am where i usually end up doing something silly like hoovering to make myself Super tired again. The blocked ear thing isn't helping either, as i can hear a pulse and slight ringing in my ear. Dear me.

Which of you was it that said they had taken something that made them sleepy? Sounds GOOD. i've been so, well...Anal... about not taking things. I've always avoided taking pills and such, but i think the not taking anything (i havent even had paracetamol) is prob doing my more harm than good.

oh & tree... i've always found debenhams measurements WAY off for bras!!!!!!

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 21:51

I KNEW someone would go tonight!

OooooooOOOOoooooOOOOOo you have all my positive vibes!!

LenniEd · 29/12/2008 21:52

eeek indeed FLF - good luck! I only popped back on to see if there was news of Spink, now I've two of you to check on in the morning! Night all

And 22 years MM - wow! We've been together going on 9, married for 5. DH says that feels like a life sentence cheeky little beggar.
