my contraband box would be empty

Sainsburys have bottles of pink Moet on special offer, so I might be tempted to get a couple given it's a girl an' all.

I know Louth, we got lost there!!!

When we lived in Norfolk and we came up here for a few days on the way home we stopped there and couldn't find our way out again.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/12/2008 18:12

i'm frickin freezing!!!! i dont wanna put the heating on till DC's bedtime... the timer dial has bust on the boiler, so we have to turn it on and off manually, so we're turnign it on at bedtime and turning it off in the morning- just that is costing roughly £4 a day!!!!! in total this last 4 weeks we have used £120 of gas!!!! Makes me wanna cry!!

Cosmogirl · 03/12/2008 18:19

It's really cold isn't it? Supposed to snow in loads of places tonight as well....What I wouldn't give for a real, roaring fireplace!

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 18:22

Me to Cosmo. My mum has a real fire and it is so nice in this weather.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/12/2008 19:43

Hi!

GYo - I'll be there to support you in the wierdness stakes!

Busy day but ok. Tiredness definitely seems better.

NJ - hope you and DS are ok.

Only managed one mars bar today but I still have my secret stash well hidden!

lardybump · 03/12/2008 20:03

pink moet yum sorky.... Can you drink straight after the birth? What about feeding??? I am so jelous of you HB girls I really dont want to go in to hospital.... I might get a sneaky bottle of bubbly for when I get home though and say sorky told me it was ok....

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 20:38

It is okay LB What are the reasons you can't hb? I'm sure you'll have told me...but I've grown a baby in the meantime

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/12/2008 20:38

cool thanks Ses...

ooh LB pink moet sounds fab....

off to bed despite it being only 8.45...

catch you all tomorrow...

lardybump · 03/12/2008 20:56

I just typed a huge message and then lost it...

In a nut shell sorky i failed to progress to second stage labour with dd even though i had been 9cm dilated for 36 hours, dd was stuck for this time and had to be (rather barbarically (sp?)) yanked out... Her heartrate had dropped so low and didn't come back up... There was no time for a c section at this point. Because they couldn't determine if the failure to progress was due to me or the babys possition (she was back to back) the midwife advised against it as i live so far from the hospital... DP was at the appointment so he has ruled hb out now.

lardybump · 03/12/2008 20:58

How many bloody spelling mistakes can I make in one sentance sorry girls I will try harder....

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 21:04

Its ok LB, pregnancy brain and all that. We're bound to make spelling mistakes.

Why do things have to happen at awkward times?
We've been looking for a puppy for a good 6 months now. We wanted to have it for a few months before DS2 was born. We haven't really found one we both like or really decided on a particular breed. Now 9 days away from DS2 being due, we think we have found the perfect puppy!!!

Argh!!!!!!

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 21:04

Oh dear! It never ceases to amaze me that we decide to go through it again when you hear of birth trauma like that.

I will have a drink after the birth but prolly only one glass. I'm not a big drinker really, 2 glasses of wine is my normal limit, but I'm actually less likely to drink when bf'ing than when pg. Don't know why.

My preferred tipple is champagne though . Maybe I'll have 2 glasses

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 21:05

ooh what kind of dog Kay?

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 21:07

This one Sorky. He is gorgeous!!

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 21:09

He's sooooo cute! You have to get him Kay

You know what they say buy a dog whilst TTC, get pg!

Maybe he'll send you into labour

Have you contacted the owner, is he still available?

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 21:12

No I haven't contacted them. Its also the getting to pick him up. Its quite far away and we don't drive.

I might ask mum if she could go get him.

lardybump · 03/12/2008 21:17

He is lovely kay... I would love a dog but our house is too small..

Sorky I know what you mean. It was so traumatic but I am really looking forward to doing it all again (although hopefuly not going through all that, everytime I think of going into labour I get excited and i still have 12 weeks to go!!!!

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 21:21

I think the first birth is very hard because you feel a bit lost and helpless. There is no experience you can draw on to help you through it, is there?

The second was much easier for me, but I made sure I wasn't anywhere near hospital, which was where my 1st labour problems began.

I'm looking forward to giving birth as well, but not until 37 weeks I have to have my pool ready!

Also, I'd quite like to have a bit of my life back really. I'm not taking incapacitation very well it has to be said.

OP posts:
SesHashadafab12weekscan · 03/12/2008 21:23

Aw Kay, I agree. He looks v cute. Hope you manage to get him. Will you phone in the morning?

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 21:26

I'm going to see if mum will go pick him for us before I ring them.

Her DP's mum lives in Huddlesfield which is nearby so they could visit her and then pick him up.

Plus if he is already toilet trained it saves us having to do it while looking after a newborn too. And having to walk him means I have to go out for a walk so it'll help in the losing the baby weight.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 03/12/2008 21:32

Soubds good
Fingers crossed no one beats you to him!
My mum asked me the other day how I'd cope walking with a buggy and two dogs. I'm sure I will!!

lardybump · 03/12/2008 21:33

I am so sorry about your incapacitation sorky it must be so hard for you and all those around you...

Right I am off now so I will try and catch up with you all tomorrow evening after midwifes...

Night...

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 21:40

Night LB.

I am hoping no one else has phoned them.

I am so tired but I know I won't get to sleep until DH gets home at 11.
