chocciedooby - I'm okay with Christmas shopping, got a few books off Amazon and also got these great picture frames from John Lewis.Frame

Well I think they are great! Anyway, I got one each for all my bridesmaids and will put a couple of wedding photos of them in and bits. Then they can change it if they like, but I thought they were very sweet.

Mainly now need to get dd and dh.

I know what I'm getting dd, not so sure for dh!

Tee2072 · 14/11/2008 12:39

lionstar so sorry to hear that. Make sure you take time to heal, yeah?

Tee2072 · 14/11/2008 12:40

chocciedooby I haven't even started yet! And most of my gifts are done online to be shipping to the US!

I really need to get cracking!

So sorry Lionheart.
Hope to see you on here again soon.
Take care of yourself.

llynnnn · 14/11/2008 20:30

sorry to hear your sad news Lionheart, hope you are ok and i wish you all the very best for the future

llynnnn · 14/11/2008 20:33

we arent doing too bad with xmas pressies, seem to have quite a few bits already and normally i dont even think about it until december!! think i'm nesting and getting organised already!!

its just the normal 'older' relatives that i always struggle to buy for, the ones who always end up with smellies and a picture of dd!!

well, i seem to be feeling sicker and sicker as this pg goes on! i'm 12 weeks on monday and desparetly waiting for the 2nd trimester to start and for me to start 'bloomin' and looking radiant!?! (is this just an old wives tale!!) i agree with all of you tho that these 12 weeks are going on and on and on!!

MrsMcJnr · 14/11/2008 21:21

Lionheart I am so sorry hon, it's an awful experience and one that I think changes you forever. Be very kind to yourself and your body and I hope you have a new pregnancy to help you heal as soon as you can face it xx

MrsMcJnr · 14/11/2008 21:22

Hey ladies a neighbour actually asked me today if I was pregnant, I?m quite shocked that I look it at 11 weeks! last time I hid it until 16 weeks!

Poor you Tee, that must have been horrible take good care now x

I spent ages last night on the internet researching the nuchal fold scan?s combined result with the blood test to try and decide whether or not to fork out an extra 200 euros for the blood tests on top of the 160 euros on the scan. I came to the conclusion that if the scan looks ok then 75% accuracy as opposed to 85% is good enough for me. I also noted that the ideal time for the blood test is 10 weeks and I?ll be exactly 12 weeks on scan day? think I?ll have to call it on the day! anyone want to throw anything else into my thinking pot on that?

Swottybetty ? all the best for the scan. Exciting to get a green light for a home birth Hope you feel less tired soon.

Flynn ? maybe you?ve had your lot on the MS front I think I read that the placenta takes over at 10 weeks and so the hormones can be less disruptive after that!

Littlesarah ? hope your theory is right! did you get married recently?

Choccie ? hope you feel better soon too I?m doing ok on the pressie front though nothing for 3 sisters/sister in law or for Dad or DH yet

Hey llynnn

Tee2072 · 15/11/2008 07:23

Good morning all!

Well, I finally gained a whole pound! There are some advantages to this controlled diet I am on! I thought I might have gained a bit because I had to move to more pairs of trousers to the 'wear after the baby is born' pile on Thursday!

Am I the only one who has almost no symptoms? It is kinda worrying actually. Makes me wonder if everything really is okay! At least I'm weepy (man is that annoying) and my breasts ache a bit!

chocciedooby · 15/11/2008 11:57

Morning!
I've a lovely sleep in this morning whilst dh has taken kids off to playcentre. Have to rev myself up as I will be spending the afternoon and evening alone whilst dh goes off to the rugby.
I have lost all inclination to cook at the moment.Feeling very lazy but feeling physically drained the last few days.
I'm getting my bloods done this week MrsMcJnr. Its part and parcel of the screening process here. Will be nervous at the scan in a few weeks time. It feels so different this time around because I am those few years older.
Hi Tee. Try not to worry too much about the symptoms as they can come and go quite a bit. I am waiting for the day that I don't feel sick so that I can get back to my normal energetic self. I currently have to spend a lot of the late afternoon horizontal which is not easy when you have 2dcs needing your attention.
Need to go and fill my tummy with something now.

Tee2072 · 16/11/2008 09:13

Wow, everyone must have been really busy yesterday! Hope everyone had a nice day!

I think today will be another lazy one for me, with the exception of going to hospital with DH as he is having a colonoscopy today. Poor boy, having to take the prep stuff and run to the loo all night.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 16/11/2008 18:29

Hello all. Had a weekend at my folks and I'm glad to be home for a rest!

My best friend has given me all her maternity clothes and some of them look ENORMOUS! We're the same size (ish) normally and I think I'd just forgotten just how vast you get by the end of the pregnancy!! Nice to have lots of clothes to wear tho.

I may officially be in maternity jeans tomorrow. I'm fed up with walking round with my jeans undone and I'm just going to bite the bullet and put them on. I'm definite I was in maternity trousers by 12 weeks last time tho, so I'm probably about the same size I was.

Just the sore boobs now, all the other symptoms seem to have gone. Can't wait for the scan to put my mind at ease and so I can tell everyone..

My sister announced that she is also pregnant, tho her little girl is only 8 months old so it'll be a tiny gap. Her bloke's a chippy and is not getting any work so she's in dire straights for money as it is. I felt a bit sorry for her really as her BFP came as a real shock (on pill and got pregnant) and not the joyous news it was for my parents when they heard about my bean. I'm sure they'll be fine, I just hope they can get some work....

MrsMcJnr · 16/11/2008 20:08

Hey ladies had to go to bed at 8pm last night I had such a horrible headache that said, I didn?t feel the benefit of it this morning. Like you Choccie, I feel shattered and can?t be bothered to do much either which is not like me. Wore mat trousers today for the first time they were so comfy, that said, I grew out of those ones at 18 weeks last time!

Tee ? some of the things in my ?after the baby? pile will have to stay in it until after this one too glad you are feeling good, enjoy it that was me last time round! Sorry to hear about DH, mine had to have one about this time last year too. Hope all is well with him.

Ineed ? yup, I?m with you, why squeeze that poor bump when you don?t need to! Congrats to your sis though it must be a worrying time for them I can see that, there never really is a good time to have a baby though is there and she must have most things she?ll need from her DD? (that?s my theory anyway, my DS is 9 months old)

Good luck to all having scans this week, I hate the worry of will it all be ok don?t you?

Tee2072 · 16/11/2008 21:07

DH came through no problems. They didn't find anything. Thank goodness.

I'm totally exhausted. Thank god we both took tomorrow off, just in case there was a problem today.

loooouise · 16/11/2008 21:29

Hello everybody, I'd like to join your club if that's ok. I'm due 14 June, so just pasted my name in there, is that right? I'm 10 weeks today, saw my little bean at 7+5 and have next scan at 12+ 2. Looking forward to sharing news with you all!

Good morning all.

EEK Lyn! Don't forget to tell us how it goes! I'm so excited for you!

I had a horrible night, so glad I already took today off in case DH needed me. Had really weird dreams about my diabetes and about the TV show the West Wing, which is really odd! Then up from about 2:30 - 4:00. YUCK!

Definitely going to take it easy today.

I hope everyone has a good day!

flynn1984 · 17/11/2008 09:00

Morning all

Hope everyone is well!
Loooouise welcome to the mad house good to have you on board!

Looking forward to wednesday morning for my next early scan I'll be nearly 10 weeks so kinda excited...got to admit my hospital has been good seeing me every 2 weeks since my scare with the first scan
MS is back but not been sick yet so fingers crossed.

Good luck to all with scans today!

Nemowith3and1tobe · 17/11/2008 09:30

Hello all
lovely new[ish] thread
hope everyone is doing ok. I have been really ill last week and only just getting over it. However I have my scan next tues when I will be either 11 or 12wks..who knows..however I did find baby with the doppler last nightAm a doppler addict due to prior mcs so am relieved can go to scan and enjoy it.

flynn1984 · 17/11/2008 09:37

nemo where do you buy dopplers? Kinda interested in getting one

Nemowith3and1tobe · 17/11/2008 09:43

flynn I got mine second hand on ebay for £35. Just make sure you get one with a LCD screen so you can tell what is babys heartbeat and what is your own. I have used one with both my girls due to the mmc after ds. I also love the fact that the other dc can listen to the baby makes it feel a bit more real for them.
