Well after my bad morning of not keeping anything down I think (touch wood) that the sick feeling is leaving me just now...hopefully not to return today...just wish I could have forseen this and stayed in bed rather than going to work.
Sorry to hear that there are others out there with bad MS hopefully this will die down in the second trimester.

RE weight, I've put on around 5lbs already, not weighed myself since coming down with bad MS so hopefully I've lost a couple of lbs

CoteDAzur, the doc must have meant that your hair was glossy, your skin gorgeous and your nails in tip-top condition. Prenatal vits don't make you put weight on do they? Mind you, French obs and gynae have lots of strange ideas and are rubbish about breastfeeding, so what do I know?

daisy5 · 12/11/2008 13:14

My cousin lives in France and after her second child she told the doctor she didn't feel so good about herself and he recommended she diet!!!!!

LittleSarah · 12/11/2008 13:19

I don't think I got weighed in pregnancy last time... they just measured the bump.

BobsWendy · 12/11/2008 13:19

heyflynn glad you're a bit better

My God Cote and daisy, I'd box him! I have no time for insinuations like that!

Some people!!

amsterdambaby · 12/11/2008 13:31

hello first time to actually write something! Can I add myself to the list? I have a DD of 17 June.. number 2 (likely to be another csection). Got an awful cold and am sure am more tired than last time!

Tee2072 · 12/11/2008 13:47

Hi amsterdambaby! welcome!

Absolutely add yourself to the list! Glad to have you!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 12/11/2008 14:04

Hello amsterdambaby! Just copy and paste the list and add your name to it in the right place. How old's your little one? Mine's two (in a few weeks) and having a toddler running around certainly makes me more knackered this time round!

My daughter is 1 and a bit... not much of a gap! Not quite sure how exhausted I shall be!

DreamyDorrie · 12/11/2008 14:30

Hello all, sorry I've not really posted since introducing myself. Life is hectic here!

I'm 10+3 and am off for my scan tomorrow morning, unsurprisingly I'm nervous and excited. There's no reason for it being 'early' they just do things differently here so the 12 weeks scan is planned somewhere between 10 and 12 weeks.

amsterdambaby - it sounds like we're in a pretty similar position to one another! My DD is one next week and I'm due on the 7th. Are you in Amsterdam or was the baby just made there?

amsterdambaby · 12/11/2008 14:40

Sadly no longer in Amsterdam - used to live there - which was great! Glad to hear someone has the same timing gap as me!

hope the scan goes well mine isnt til 5 December... am still fairly nervous about it all though!

DreamyDorrie · 12/11/2008 14:58

That's a shame, it would have been nice to think someone else on here was in the Netherlands. I've not lived in Amsterdam, but DP used to and really loved it

It must be hard waiting for your scan, I had my booking appointment with the midwife last week so I've only known the date since then. I'd be a nervous wreck by now if I'd known earlier!

LittleSarah · 12/11/2008 16:14

Hi Amsterdambaby.

It'd be great to live in Amsterdam, I'd love to cycle around with one of those little cart like seats at the back for the kids.

I think I am getting a wee bump, tummy is definitely bigger and firmer.

mamaolivia · 12/11/2008 18:29

Evening all, feeling quite perky today and not too pukey.
just going to add myself to the list - having lurked a lot on mnet and only ever made the odd comment - is nice to be a proper part of it at last! Going to docs for first time next Tues - hard to beleive its real till then, but everything crossed things fine.

Oh strawberrysam - that's just what you didn't need! I'm sure you've heard all the stories about people who bleed during their pregnancy and the baby was just fine, but it's so stressful and upsetting to deal with at the time. Big hugs to you.

cote - interesting what you say about the smoking - I gave up six months before conceiving and couldn't stop eating, and then fell pregnant and really couldn't stop eating. I think I went from around 71kg to 100kg in just over a year. This time I don't have quite the same appetite and am wondering if it was the quitting smoking that did it. I managed to finally get back to 71kg in March - 2 years on - what an effort that was.

hi amsterdambaby - welcome

hi ya mrsmcjunior - I am so jealous of you having that lovely doctor in Spain. The local NHS hospital is just not quite the same.

MrsMcJnr · 12/11/2008 20:59

Welcome Dreamydorrie and Amsterdambaby I have a little DS too, he?s 9 ½ months

Poor you Strawberrysam I had a bleed the day after a scan with DS so after being elated from the good scan I then started worrying again but all was fine and you will be too

llynnnn · 12/11/2008 22:00

Hi all
Love the new thread title!! Thats definitely me!!

Sorry I havent posted properly for a little while, not sure where the time is going!

Strawberrysam - so pleased you had such a good scan yesterday, try not to worry (i know its easier said than done) if all was well with your little one yesterday sure you will be fine.

welcome dreamydorrie and amsterdambaby! congratulations!!

flynn and ermintrude - sorry to hear you are both suffering badly with ms, must be awful. my friend had it really bad and said that those travel bands you wear around your wrists really helped her. havent tried them myself though. hope it passes really soon for you

i was weighed at my very first app with the midwife but darent weigh myself again!!! i keep eating and eating, and not particularly good things either
i'm sure in my last pg tho i was only weighed at the v start and v end (just before my c-section) so am trying not to think about it!! Hopefully (all being well) this will probably be my last pg so I plan on enjoying it!!

has anyone else had any pain in their boobs? over the last couple of days i've had quite a sharp shooting pain which feels like its going straight through my nipple! it goes as quick as it comes, but its not very nice!! not sure if its pg related or something totally diff!!

I have my scan next monday, very nervous about it already! just need to know everything is ok!! are there a few of us with scans next week?

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 13/11/2008 07:05

Morning all! Hope everyone is starting to feel a little better. Still got a permanent headache, but it's not as bad as yesterday so I hope it's finally going. Trouble is, I was in a car crash a couple of months ago and don't know if it's due to the whip lash, or the pregnancy.

Hope all goes well for you Strawberrysam. I'm sure you'll be fine, but I know that doesn't stop the worrying.

Don't know when my scan is, tho the midwife told me that the Royal Surrey are trying to get the scans as close to 12+2 as poss, which probably means mine will be the week after next....

Have a good day xx

Tee2072 · 13/11/2008 07:41

Good Morning!

I feel slightly guilty that y'all are suffering with MS and I've only had little bits here and there! I swear, if I didn't have the scan pic and BFPs I would have no idea I'm pregnant!

I guess I should count my blessings!

Have a good day!

LittleSarah · 13/11/2008 09:14

Well my sickness is back, but definitely lessened. The most reassuring thing for is the size of my tummy. Not that it is huge (yet!) but a bit bigger and more rounded, guess it is true that after your first baby it starts earlier!

StrawberrySam - Try not to worry too much about the bleeding, although I know it's hard!

Myneaux · 13/11/2008 11:31

morning all

just got back from my dating scan....it was amazing !....for the first time I feel genuinely pregnant...little bean was wriggling around and you could see it really clearly. They confirmed the DD is right so looks like I will be popping on 1st June as predicted.

To all of you who havent had your scan yet I would give you one piece of advice....go easy on the water!...I was worried that it wouldnt pass through my system in time for a 9am appointment so drank about 2 1/2 pints to make sure...big mistake. After spending the journey shouting at DP for not avoiding speed bumps I had to sit in agony feeling very sressed and sweaty and couldnt think of anything apart from having a pee. By the time they shouted my name I couldnt wait any longer and had to dash to the loo....tried to save some for the scan and then still managed the longest pee in history straight afterwards !

Tee2072 · 13/11/2008 11:44

How exciting myneaux!! And LOL on the water!

flynn1984 · 13/11/2008 11:52

morning all!

myneaux congrats on a wonderful scan...will keep in mind the water advice for mine...which should be in 3 weeks time!

MS has disappeared for today, which is a strange but wonderful feeling! I'm in a lose lose situation I hate MS but when I dont have it all I sit and do is worry as having MS reinforces the fact that my 'cashew nut' is still there...keep clutching my early scan photo from last week.
Roll on 2 weeks time when I will be in Dublin getting some well earned rest

Hope everyone else is ok!
