Myneaux - congratulations on such a great scan!! Cant wait for mine on monday. had to laugh at the water tho, when i was pg with dd i drank soooooo much and was dying for the loo waiting to be called through. then when we finally got in the lady doing the scan aksd if i could go empty my bladder a bit as it was too full and she couldnt get a good view!!!! grrrrr!!

i feel really sick today, keep munching my melba toasts. think its mostly to do with being so tired tho, i couldnt sleep last night!

LittleSarah · 13/11/2008 13:44

llynnn - That happened with me at my seven week scan this time! I think a litre should do just fine for the next one, at the most!

Myneaux - glad to hear you had such a good scan. Must be nice to be so close to 2nd trimester! Although I am only 5 days behind you...

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 13/11/2008 14:00

Lol at the water incident, tho so pleased you had a good scan Myneaux!

My hospital have told me not to bother with drinking vast amounts of water and just come, as normal (tho I should imagine I'll need a wee anyway as I'm going every 20 mins...). I didn't need to last time either and the scan was really clear.

Just got back from the GPs as DS decided to ram his hand into a lamp and burn the back of his hand. He didn't even cry just came into the bedroom and said 'hand hurt, bit hot' I then saw the lamp and his burnt hand and freaked a bit!! He was fine and only cried because I was pinning him down so I could put an ice pack on his little hand. It all looked fine, but the redness was spreading all over the back. I rang the surgery (who were and always are, brilliant) and I walked straight in to see a GP and then a nurse came in and dressed it. He was good as gold and now doesn't even seem to notice it (his bandages are no longer the pristine white they were earlier after tomato soup and chocolate pudding for lunch ). Poor little thing .

Not quite sure how I'll cope with incidents like that when I've got two to deal with!

Ineed it's surprising how it just comes together, no.2 just slots in it's all sooooo different from the first time round!

jools I realise this is a little belated but my heart goes out to you I feel i've come to "know" you a little over the past few weeks as a board buddy and will miss you, look after yourself and keep the communication going with your dh... it won't be easy but time will help ( it won't feel like it at the moment)! v un mnet

flynn1984 · 13/11/2008 14:34

Doris - thank you for the advice on morning sickness, it has died down today but if it starts to get to the point I can't keep anything down I'm going to my GP cos I dont think I can handle another day like I've had over the past few days!

Is it just me or does it feel like this trimester is dragging in...feel like I've been 8+5 forever...maybe cos my midwife got my dates wrong and according to her I should be 12 weeks now

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 13/11/2008 15:06

Oh, and after my trauma of the morning, I went to the physio (who's treating me because of the car accident) and she asked 'have you been getting headaches? It turns out the muscles in my neck were in spasm and she clicked it about and did deep tissue massage (ouch) and it already feels loads better!! Hurrah!!

So now it's just tiredness and the groin pain (which I guess I'm stuck with if it's anything like last pregnancy). The good thing is that the midwife has already referred me to see a physio for that so I'm not bed-bound again...

Tee2072 · 13/11/2008 15:53

GRRR I am annoyed, ladies.

All week here at my office it has seemed like Pick on Tee day. No matter what I say, someone points out how wrong or difficult or whatever I'm being. So today a co-worker said I was being 'sensitive'.

I'm sorry, but if someone was picking out your flaws every two seconds you'd be sensitive also. And, so what if I am? I'm fing pregnant for gods sake, let me be sensitive but stop telling me I'm being sensitive because now you're just really really pissing me off.

Which is what I told her. Basically to shut the f up and leave me alone. She and I are friends, but if she keeps this up? Not for much longer.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 13/11/2008 17:05

Poor old you Tee. I'd have told her to shut the f up too..... I don't miss that environment as I'm supply teaching now one day a week and don't have time to sit in the office and be bitchy like back in the old days.

Can't believe she's a friend!

OP posts:
daisy5 · 13/11/2008 19:15

Oh tee - shall I forward some masking tape? That might keep her quiet for a wee while I hope you are home now with a nice cup of cocoa. That's really not a very cool thing of your 'friend' to do.

chocolate - glad to hear you got some unexpected pain relief

llynnn you reminded me that I forgot about the water for the last scan and quickly downed 500ml just before leaving home. The LO showed up just fine. It made me chuckle the way he said after the scan was finished 'you can go to the loo now'. All the woman must be hanging out for a pee with this pained expression on their faces

All fine enough with me. I saw another pregnant woman having lunch at the cafe with her children today and we both looked equally knackered and half asleep while our children chattered away.

MrsMcJnr · 13/11/2008 20:43

Llynnnn ? I got those shooting nipple pains last time round and in that pg they only weighed me at the beginning and then never again All the best for the scan., mine?s next Thursday.

Tee ? that was me last time perfect pregnancy, great birth, angel baby this time is not looking quite so good already! Sorry to hear about your bad day, does your friend know you are pg? she might cut you some slack if she knew.

Ineedmorechoc ? sorry to hear about the car crash! Your poor DS! Hope it heals soon.

Littlesarah ? hi

Myneaux ? ah congrats I know what you mean about the full bladder, agony isn?t it? My scan will be internal so I don?t have to worry about that at least.

Flynn ? ah cashew nut! I know what you mean about the 1st trimester dragging.

Doris ? hope you are not feeling too bad this time round.

Anyone seen this pg t-shirt? Love it! www.rosienieper.co.uk/product_387-1-82_Superpower-Classic-t-shirt.htm

Tee2072 · 13/11/2008 20:51

MrsMcJnr that's her whole point. I'm 'sensitive' because I'm pregnant.

Honestly, I just think she's a) jealous because she's never had an easy pregnancy and so far mines a breeze (even with the diabetes) and b) I won't take every little piece of advice she has. She thinks she knows everything and gets annoyed when I don't bow down to her 'superior' knowledge.

MrsMcJnr · 13/11/2008 21:02

Oh dear Tee, one of those! deep breaths hon!

insywinsyspider · 13/11/2008 21:13

hello everyone - I have dipped in before and said hi and then got scared off by how quicky the conversation was moving on - completely lost!
from what I can gather some of you had scans and glad to see a lot of positive stuff - mine is next week and I'm now starting to worry, on positive side I haven't had any bleeding yet this pg so I hope its ok

flynn - I def think this trimester is dragging, we've decided not to tell too many people we're pg again and I'm itching to spread the news, its so hard when you bump into someone and they ask how things are going! plus being sick with 2 lo's around is hard work, be nice to get some more help...

MrsMcJnr - I LOVE that t-shirt - does it come in maternity sizes?!?

ermintrude13 · 13/11/2008 21:29

flynn and insy - you bet this trimester is dragging! i think feeling crap, not telling anyone and not having had the scan all add to a feeling that it's a looooong way to go. i haven't even told my family yet because my little niece is very poorly and so it doesn't seem a good time to jump in with a Guess what! I'm pregnant! Isn't that fab? type of thing.

tee sorry you've had a bad work day. what you need is a gregg's sausage roll to cheer you up in all its greasy glory (obscure reference to another thread; she knows what i mean...)

MrsMcJnr · 13/11/2008 21:37

Hi Insy, yup the t shirt is for pg women, its classic fit. If it had long sleeves I'd be getting one

Tee2072 · 14/11/2008 06:04

LOL ermintrude. If only they had them here!

MrsMcJnr I'd be getting one also, if they had long sleeves! They are great.

Good morning everyone. Last night had my first hypo, i.e. low blood sugar. Felt horrible, bad headache, faint, like I was going to hurl. Ate some carbs, felt better. What has me concerned is that my Blood Glucose level was within the range they wanted it to be, so definitely need to speak to them today about that!

Still not feeling great and contemplating calling in sick to work. See how I feel in an hour!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 14/11/2008 06:21

Poor you Tee Take the day off and look after yourself xx

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 14/11/2008 07:03

I'm definitely going to do that Ineed. Thanks for the sympathy!

swottybetty · 14/11/2008 08:56

hello! i'm just checking in to new thread. sorry i never keep up here, its so busy . Not felt sick for a week ... hoping thats me done. but exhausted to my very bones. in bed by 9pm every night. had first MW check up and they're cool with home birth. dating scan on monday.

flynn1984 · 14/11/2008 08:58

Tee Shame your not feeling well, I would take the day off if I were you! My Dad has diabetes and I've witnessed him taking hypo's...not a good thing at at!

I can't wait till next wednesday, my Early PG Unit is keeping a close eye on me scanning me every 2 weeks, I'll be nearly 10 weeks and can't wait to that scan.
Something is strange, again for second day in a row I have no MS symptoms Quite enjoying the no sick feeling, but starting to worry now lol

Hope everyone else is well...and thank god it's Friday!!!!

LittleSarah · 14/11/2008 09:49

flynn - I had no MS for a couple of days, but it is very much back. I'm hoping this it getting better, a few days on, a couple off and then BANG 12 weeks and GONE. Well, we shall see.

I've told quite a lot of people now, more than I meant too. Actually it wasn't all my fault (DH), however now very much looking forward to week 12/13 where I can hopefully be pleased it wasn't a mistake! I'm 10+6 today so we're getting there...

chocciedooby · 14/11/2008 10:31

Hi Ladies. I too feel that this 1st trimester is taking a long time.I am 9+1 today and don't get my scan for nearly another 3 weeks.I will be so happy to be able to relax after that.
We have told family and closest friends.I am the world's worst at hiding things from people so it just had to come out!I just pray that everything is going to be ok.
I'm still nausous the whole day long but luckily no sick as yet.Came pretty close to it when ds2 trod dog poo all over my car seats. I couldn't face cleaning his shoes for days and poor dh had to do the honours.
Not sleeping very well.Waking 2 or 3 times every night which is a nuisance.
Cannot face doing any Christmas shopping. How is everyone else getting on with that?

Lionstar · 14/11/2008 10:34

Haven't posted for ages, wanted to wait until 12 week scan to get an accurate date. Sadly seems I have suffered a missed miscarriage. Scan showed sac and embryo of no more than 6 weeks and no heartbeat . Was pretty cut up at the time, couldn't stop crying and the scan clinic let me out the back way so wouldn't have to face all those bumps on the way out. Have to go for another scan on Tuesday just to confirm, then have to decide if need medical management or if it will happen naturally.

Will we probably TTC straight away, as in my head the whole of next year was already laid out, and I can't imagine loosing all of it.

Please can someone remove my name from the list?

Also wanted to pass my condolences to Jools, though might meet up with her on the TTC threads.

flynn1984 · 14/11/2008 10:42

Lionstar I'm sorry to hear about your mmc I hope you are ok and take time to heal sending hugs and love your way

ermintrude13 · 14/11/2008 10:53

So sorry to hear it, Lionstar, it's an awful thing to happen and a lot to come to terms with, especially if you then need to go to hosp to have it sorted out. I cried for days and I really think it did me good, so go easy on yourself. xx
