I am at times help. Especially if I stay in jeans or trousers too long. I like to put on PJs as soon as I know I am not leaving the house for the rest of the day!

Do you think my boss would object if I showed up for work in my giraffe PJs that say 'Hi There!' on the shirt?

insywinsyspider · 30/12/2008 20:14

ttcnumber3 - glad to hear everything went well and interesting to hear your symptoms for number 3 but I am wondering if I look awful, feel dreadful and so tired because I have a 2.5 yr old and 1 yr old this time not necessarily due to baby's gender

MrsMc ? I got your email and I?m hoping by now you have the book? I did post it with the rest of our xmas stuff so it might be delayed? off to check the website out, I love Oscar but dh not so keen (not sure why some lame thing about already having an Oliver so will be two children with same initial) and apparently went to school with Alex he hated why do men have such strong opinions to names but never suggest any??

As soon as I found out I was pg I bought lo a teddy from mothercare that matches my ds?s as they love theirs (and its machine washable!) and just ordered a swaddling blanket on line as fed up with using blankets when had ds?s (I ran out of patience doing them up after night feeds and nappy changes)

Ineedmorechocolate ? ds1 is 2.5 yrs and although we have a phil and teds double (he was 19 months when ds2 was born) we now mostly use a buggy board on quinny or maclaren (got the lascal one and you can get extra straps so you can switch it between buggys easily), got it a month ago and he loves it, wants to walk more and I get less whinging, ds1 will just be 3 (and ds2 18 months) when dc3 arrives so I?m hoping he?ll walk as I can?t see anyway of getting a board on the P&T?s!

I?m not feeling any movements, having been ill I now weight less than when I feel pg and still sleeping on my stomach (16 wks) I just don?t feel pg its starting to make me worried, mw app on Monday so I?m hoping that she finds a heartbeat fine

Hello everyone hope you don't mind me joining this thread. Have only just discovered the joys of mumnet. Am due on 23rd June and this is my first baby. Had my dating scan before xmas and I couldnt believe how emotional I found it. Waiting to hear when my 20 week scan will be. Can't wait!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 31/12/2008 10:31

Hi there Chesh76! Nice to see you on here. We're a friendly bunch. Add yourself to the list by copying and pasting the list from the first post on the thread.

Got my 20 week scan on the 28th Jan when I'll be 21+5. So excited about seeing the bean again, finding out all is well and then hopefully finding out whether it's a boy or a girl.

Thanks for the advice insywinsy. We've managed to find a double buggy (Mamas and Papas Aria) on Ebay for £50 and we're picking it up tomorrow. I figure, even if I only use it til next Christmas, £50's not bad and we can always use it if we go for number 3. I'll got a buggy board too, for those little trips up the park and the local shops. It's those long days out I'm worried about. Luckily, DS is quite small for his age and still has a long nap in the day so I think we will get a bit of use from it.

Anyway, happy New Year to you all. I hope 2009 brings lots of joy to you all xx

Happy New Year, all!

chocciedooby · 31/12/2008 23:27

As I munch my way through a classic magnum icecream (instead of champagne) I wish you all a very happy and fun new year!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 01/01/2009 08:04

Happy New Year everyone! And hello Kitteh!

Had half a glass of champagne last night at midnight and it was lovely! Went round a friend's house for the eve and had a lovely meal. Put DS down to sleep in their room and then scooped him up at 2.30 to come back here(only 5 mins down the road in the car). Sounds great in theory, but don't think I'll be doing it again for a while. He screamed for an hour when we got back, he was so overtired so I've only had four hours sleep and feel rotten! Oh well. DH will be up in an hour and then I a going back to bed!

I hope you all had a great time last night. And how bloody exciting to be able to say... 'it's due in June this year' woo hoo! What a great year 2009 will be!

Ineed I was just thinking the same thing! 6 months to go!!

CoteDAzur · 01/01/2009 08:17

Happy new year, everyone!

Yesterday, I gave away DD's pink & girly clothes and it felt so... final. Also felt like I was jinxing it, for some reason, although I know deep down that is just pregnancy paranoia

Kitteh · 01/01/2009 12:12

Ooh Choccie, i think i'd rather have a magnum than a glass of champagne.. especially the caramel ones.. yum.
Happy new year..

flynn1984 · 01/01/2009 18:36

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
What a year 2009 will be for us all

Welcome to all the newbies hope scans and appointments have went well for everyone!
Meeting midwife next friday for 17 week check up (should be 16 week check up but surgery closed this week) can't wait as I'll hear the heartbeat! Quick question, do you need to take a urine sample with you to midwife appointment can't remember what midwife said last time I saw her. Going to ask for iron levels to be checked as I am tired all the time and told this shouldn't be the case so early on.

Choccie hope you enjoyed your magnum ice cream lol
Ineed wish I was allowed a glass of champagne DH being very protective and wont let me drink anything...I had a nice glass of alcohol free wine tho
Kitteh welcome and like you this is my first...how exciting
chesh welcome too glad your scan went well, it is pretty emotional isn't it

Well roll on everyone's 20 week scan can't wait to see photo's if you are able to post them...going to need to update my profile with my photos

insywinsyspider · 01/01/2009 19:54

happy new year everyone!

flynn - whats your due date? think we're bout the same, I've got my 17 wk app on mon, excited and bit scared bout mw finding heart beat - can't remember but don't think I was getting my urine checked this early last couple of times...

ineed - what a bargin and your right having a double for the long days out is good, we ended up using double today to go to park as ds shattered after last night (went to neighbours and he didn't go to sleep till 9pm then up at 4am for about an hour, think we messed him up but at least he could just chill in buggy)

flynn1984 · 01/01/2009 20:01

insywinsyspider my due date is 20th June and can't wait...if baby is born on that day I'm stealing the limelight of BIL's 21st birthday which i feel bad about but making him godfather so here's hoping he's fine with it

What does midwife check at 17week appointment?

ermintrude13 · 01/01/2009 20:32

HNY All!

flynn, I've just had my 16wk appt and was asked to take a urine sample along. same as for booking. Basically, they always want to test your wee for preg hormones, sugars and proteins, so my policy is that every time I go near a midwife or doctor I will wave a tube of MSU at her/him! . (your GP reception should be able to give you a bottle if you need one). At this last appt the MW took bloods for Spina Bifida test and you can have the Downs blood test too if you want it/if your NT scan suggested a highish risk (but both are optional). She did urine, blood pressure, weight, felt my fundus (the top of the uterus) to check it was in line with dates and did a doppler for heartbeat but I had to request that. All quite calming, really!

And listen, if you fancy a wee drop of bubbly tell your DH, ever so gently, to butt out! One glass of fizz doth not foetal alcohol syndrome make, and in later pregnancy an occasional half pint of guinness or once/twice weekly glass of red does you a power of good, if you feel like it. We've enough dietary limitations without taking away such tiny harmless pleasures...

6 months to go - less for most of us. Blimey

June2009 · 01/01/2009 20:55

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to newcomers!
20 days to go until my 20 weeks scan :D I'll probably get my irns levels checked too as I am tired all the time.
New Year's eve went well, recovering today.

Yup, we're having the baby this year :D
My friend who went travelling for ages bought us our first baby clothes from abroad!

Best wishes to everyone for 2009!

insywinsyspider · 01/01/2009 20:57

flynn - I worked out I was due 21st June from my ov date but scan says 18th June - not much in it but I'm expecting to be 'over' their prediction as I'd worked out diff dates for both my ds's and been considered 'early' both times but spot on with my calculation. I'm sure BIL will be ok with dates just a shame you can't make the party if it happens on that day

think ermintrude covered everything in 16/17 wk app! although I've not had urine done at all yet and not expecting to, last time when I forgot to take in sample mw wasn't too concerned but was no 2 and I had no history of any complications so I think for no 1 you should take some in just in case

Tee2072 · 01/01/2009 21:07

There is a a sign at my antenatal clinic requesting a sample for every OB appointment. They also have tons of sample jars in every loo, so easy enough to do when you are there!

Tee2072 · 02/01/2009 17:55

Been awfully quite around here...everyone okay?

Kitteh · 02/01/2009 19:11

Ooh june, its my scan in 20 days too..!! im so excited.. lol.. getting sick of morning sickness now though.. having to position myself to the nearest toilet.. or trying to leg it outside into a carpark.. lol.. but it will all be worth it im sure.. hehe

Is anyone else still suffering from "morning" sickness..?

LittleSarah · 02/01/2009 19:17

Hello people, and welcome chesh and kitteh.

Feeling fairly good at the moment, wee bump and flutters, plus pretty easy to find heartbeat with doppler now.

One thing - bra size already gone up two sizes and sorry if TMI, nipple/areola area grown and darkened! I know this happens (one of my books says so anyway) but totally don't remember it from last time so finding it quite strange.

Think I'll go and see midwife in a couple of weeks as I've just moved practices so don't know any yet and they don't know about me!

Have bought our buggy! Yeah! Dh's gramps gave us £250 for Christmas so thought we'd get it now, won't be spending too much on anything else.

silkcushion · 02/01/2009 19:19

hello all .
Did post once I think (can't remember with mushy pg brain - might just have had a sneaky peek at posts). I'm due on 19th Jube. Think I'm 16 weeks today but maybe I've got it wrong as Spider and Flynn seem to be further along than me.

Iirc then every time I saw a health professional they demanded my wee.
