Hi all! Happy Christmas eve eve to you all!

Littlesarah - I also feel really nauseous and wretch first thing in the morning until I manage to eat breakfast then I'm fine for the rest of the day. Its not fun!

Love all your names! We are really undecided, I really like Lauren for a girl and Keiron for a boy, but not 100% sure yet! probably will end up being niether of these!!

June - such a shame about your dad and bro being ill for xmas. Can you have an extra christmas in jan and have the dinner/pressies etc again then when they can make it?

Bigcar - wish my dh thought xmas dinner was a mans job! he wont be seen at all in the kitchen on christmas day!!

Strawberrysam - I cant imagine how hard all the bleeding must be. really hope it stops for you and you can get on with enjoying and relaxing into your pg

Cote - hope you are feeling better now, dont push yourself too much to cater for everyone else, surely they must be able to help out

Hi to evertone else and I hope you and all your families and bumps have a fab christmas!!
x

June2009 · 23/12/2008 18:25

llynnnn Yeah they should be able to come for a weekend in January/February, just trying to work it out now.
I've had a good sulk all day, feeling sorry for myself and all that but I'm getting over it now.
Fil just brought the turkey over and we just showed him the video of the baby which he found amazing - he didn't have that 30 years ago - and I'm determined to have a lovely xmas with ILS. Gonna wrap the presents up tomorrow and prepare the dining room table with nice plates to put me in the mood.

Have a good xmas break everyone :D

ttcnumber3maybe · 23/12/2008 20:41

Hi all! Sorry it's a while since I posted and last time had news that had a 1:88 chance of chromosomal probs. Had the CVS next day which went fine and got confirmation that all ok - hoorah! Over the moon and we are having a little girl after two boys (4.5 and almost 3) so feel very blessed and can now relax into xmas (as far as we can given we're hosting 15!!!!! plus we do xmas eve AND boxing day for 12!)
but really looking forward to it now... boys so excited about xmas
Really wish everyone a super happy and hopefully nausea-free festive season

strawberrysam - really hope your bleeding settles for you as must be awful. I bled a little with DS1 due to low lying placenta which then moved at around 36 wks

chocciedooby - and everyone else who is concerned about weight - I've put on 9kilos already and am almost 13 weeks - thinking that must be some kind of record. I put on alot with DS1 & 2 but managed to lose it after 6 months of hard work! Worse thing is that I've not even been indulging and have been sick almost every morning and evening (tho getting better now). Decided this morning by way of celebration wth the cvs result to indulge my craving for tooty frutty's (!) and had 3 packets in quick succession!

finally ... to all those playing the guessing game re sex, we were able to find out cos we had the CVS .... I had quite strong symptoms:
huge craving for satsumas and oranges
baby's heartbeat 160bpm
i look awful!
felt dreadful and SO tired - much more so that with boys
left breast bigger than right (by a cup size!)
chinese predicter calendars also predicted a girl...
hope that helps!!!!!!!!!!
lol x

jellysmum · 23/12/2008 21:16

Hello ladies, hope you don't mind the intrusion but it was quite reassuring reading your thread. I am due on 3rd June and Like you strawberry have had quite a hideous time of it over the last 2 weeks, when my bleeding started. I was expecting the worst when I went to the EPU and they found a bouncy little one after the GP could find no heartbeat, and then totally freaked last Wednesday qhen I started passing clots and again was convinced nothing could make it and again a heartbeat was found. The bleeding has still continued and the uncertainty is great fun!!! Helps to see I'm not the only one

CoteDAzur · 23/12/2008 21:21

ttc - that is such wonderful news Girls are so cute and such joy.

Does anyone know if having the worst cold (flu?) in the world can harm the baby? Fever is gone, but cough has descended to my chest and now I heave with each cough. At which point would I be given antibiotics? I'm just trying to decide if it's worth trying to find a doctor on Christmas Eve.

snowwombat · 24/12/2008 11:37

cote hope you are feeling better? antibiotics will only help you if you have an infection not a virus- best way to tell is if you are coughing up lots of green/yellow stuff (sorry everyone if TMI ).Try and keep your temp down with paracetamol.

Just had a lovely christmas eve- madwife appt this morning and heard wombatbaby's heartbeat. lovely! . Lovely evening with friends and now off to wrap the last of the pressies. (and it's still warm!! Sorry ) Merry Christmas and happy healthy 2009!

CoteDAzur · 24/12/2008 21:53

I'm better - as in, no longer bed-ridden. I still cough, but no green/yellow phleghm yet (thankfully).

Merry Christmas everyone

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 25/12/2008 12:24

Merry Christmas everybody!!

June2009 · 25/12/2008 14:26

Ineedmorechocolatenow Merry christmas to you too :D
Off to eat lovely the turkey that has been cooking for hours...

June2009 · 25/12/2008 14:28

talking about the turkey, we went to bed really late last night and when the alarm clock went at 8am to put the turkey in the oven I thought :"this is what it's going to be like isn't it, having to get up when you really haven't had enough sleep, to feed our lovely little baby :D"

Tee2072 · 25/12/2008 16:32

Merry Christmas everyone!

Sorry I've not been around, up at the in-laws since Tuesday and only one machine for 4 people (we have 2 for 2 people at home!!).

Hope everyone had a lovely day. Personally I've gotten bad constipation (TMI!!) for XMas, but it seems to be clearing!

I'll try to catch up with everyone over the next few days, but we don't go home until Saturday, so who knows?

ermintrude13 · 26/12/2008 09:24

Hope everyone's big day went well. I ate far too much but enjoyed doing so!

June - alarm at 8am?! Can't remember when I had a lie-in that long since having kids, and my oldest is 10. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Tee well done for fighting a path to the pc; hope you continue enjoying your visit. Know what you mean about the constipation - me too, despite having eaten prune compote with fig ice-cream for pudding yesterday! It worked through everyone else's system at great speed, but not mine.

Bowels and in-laws aside, all well here, hope everyone is having a peaceful and happy time.

June2009 · 26/12/2008 20:42

Hehe ermintrude, so I've been told, we went to bed at 4:30am which I doubt we will do much once the lo is here ;) I usually get up earlier than that too!

I bought my first maternity clothes online today, I'd rather go to a shop but the regular ones round here don't seem to be doing maternity range. I'll have to research it a bit more.

Does anyone know a website where we can check out some bumps? For some reason I feel a little bit shy about showing it and prefer to hide underneath a large jumper and jeans.

MrsMcClaus · 26/12/2008 21:23

Hey ladies here to catch up and to say sorry for not wishing you all a very merry Christmas I meant to but things got hectic and I never got on here hope you all had a wonderful time!

helpivegottogivebirth · 26/12/2008 21:40

happy christmas
i have literally ballooned over the last couple of days - not just the turkey either. i now properly look pregnant- yippee!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 26/12/2008 21:58

Hello everyone!

Oh my goodness.... how much have I eaten over the last two days? It was all BAD stuff too.... aaaagh! I'm going to have to cut back over the next few weeks to make up for it! Oh well!!

Hope everyone had a great time and that santa brought you everything you wanted and more!!

Tee ? hope you had a lovely time at your folks-in-law

Snowwombat ? enjoy your road trip in the sun! We have had lovely sunshine here too though it is chilly at night. Wow that will be a big move back to the UK for you with such a young baby!

Cote ? glad you are feeling better

Ineedmore ? hope you are having a lovely festive time!

Hello help!

At the risk of sounding VERY ungrateful (which I probably am ) I got some hideous Christmas presents from my in laws I am furious because I sent them a wish list in October of small light things to help them and they also ignored my expressed wish NOT to receive any clothes. I got two pairs of skimpy winceyette pyjamas two sizes bigger than I am. Totally unsuitable and as I am abroad I can?t take them back. I tried to make suitably grateful noises but was seething. Then my MIL told me not to be offended on my birthday (Monday) as she has bought me ?some larger sizes? as she hadn?t expected me to lose weight WTF bigger than 2 sizes too big??!! and not mat clothes either. Grrrrrrr!! eBay here I come.

CoteDAzur · 27/12/2008 09:04

Hi everyone. I hope mums and bumps are all happy

I now have my voice back (well, sort of) but DD is now ill. When we cough at the same time, DH looks genuinely scared.

Meanwhile, my appetite is back, and I tried my hardest to make up during Christmas dinner & boxing day, I am still 3 pounds under what I weighed ten days ago. That should impress my French doctor at our next appointment in a week

dreamydowler · 27/12/2008 12:27

Hi everyone hope you all had a great christmas I was sick christmas morning but otherwise have had a great time.off to a cocktail party tonight with dp who will no doubt end up very drunk eating better now though so at least I can enjoy the buffet

Tee2072 · 27/12/2008 17:42

Hi all

Back from the in-laws! Was a good visit and then out of the blue my MIL says 'do you want the rocking chair?' It is this lovely antique, very comfortable. She's had it since she was pregnant with my DH! I said, 'are you sure?!?!' 'Yup. We never use it!'

So when they come down in January, I have my first piece of baby furniture!

Also I am positive I felt the baby move this past week! Like little flutters in my tummy!

June2009 · 27/12/2008 22:14

helpivegottogivebirth How exciting! How far along are you? I can't wait to look proper pregnant...

tee very , we saw a rocking chair in mothercare that was waaaay out of budget, I want one too :D

Tee2072 · 28/12/2008 06:43

That's one reason I was so chuffed, June! All the ones I'm seeing are like £400!! Um, no, can't afford that!

helpivegottogivebirth · 28/12/2008 10:45

June - lol -it sort of comes and goes! In the evening i def look preggers, but by morning it's gone down a bit
on boxing day my belly buttn was beginning to disappear - truly revolting!
i'm 17 weeks now - can't beleive it. only 3 more weeks and we're halfway through. yikes!

MrsMcClaus · 28/12/2008 11:28

Hey ladies extremely wet and windy day here today (yes, we have them too ) luckily DH, DS and I had planned that we?d have a lazy day looking at pressies etc. DH made some noise about having to go out for my birthday present (it?s tomorrow) and then I reminded him that shops don?t open here on a Sunday so it?s looks like I won?t get a pressie for the 3rd year running! You lot must think I am so materialistic, I?m not, but it is the thought that counts not a last minute attempt the day before when he?s had a year to get me something ?..and breathe!!!

What are you all doing for New Year?s Eve??

Cote ? Glad to hear that you have your voice back but sorry to hear about DD hope she feels much better soon. Funny how these continental Drs are so hung up on weight isn?t it? Mine asked me if I was on a diet last appointment because I?d lost weight again.

Dreamy ? Poor you! I was sick on Christmas Eve but luckily it stayed away for Christmas day (probably because we had chocolate at 8am ) How was the cocktail party?

Tee ? welcome back glad you had a good visit and how lovely about the rocking chair! it?s fun to start feeling movements isn?t it? I feel somersaults and rolly pollys every now and then!

All those interested in a feeding chair, my SIL bought us this one, it?s all in all good and sturdy and a fraction of the cost of the other chairs out there www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_856+341_10751_-1_18101_16199_10001_18101 it is really useful. DH feeds DS his bottle in it every night and we often read to him in it. Problem was though that I found it very hard to breast feed in because of the arms.

June ? your bump may just suddenly appear, don?t worry, it won?t be long!

Hello Help

Definitely have a bump here, coming up for 18 weeks!

llynnnn · 28/12/2008 18:52

hi all

Hope you all had a great christmas! we had a lovely time and I was spoilt! dd was so so so so excited which made it even better!!

mrsmcclaus - i can recommend that chair too! we bought one before dd was born and we still use it now every day to have bedtime milk and story in, it was great for nighttime feeds/naps too when she was tiny, much more comfy than sitting on a bed!

helpive - i cant believe we are nearly half way there!! its flying by isnt it! has everyone got dates for their 20 week scans? mine is 16th jan

tee - great news about your chair!! thats lovely of them!!

dreamy - hope you enjoyed the party. dh got very drunk at our work xmas do, and i was sober (of course!) very annoying!!

cote - glad to hear you are feeling better now, hope your dd is better very soon too
