Due in December 05

OK, it's way too early to test yet, and I'm probably tempting fate here, but I've got classic morning sickness, the dates are just about right, and I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant. And I've always wanted to start one of these due in threads .

And if the blue line winks at me in 10 days time, then I'll come clean and post under my real nickname.

Any one else?

ohhh exciting

golds · 20/04/2005 15:38

Can anyone shed a light on this result

Ive just phoned the hospital and got the result of my blood test.

Monday HCG level was 391
Today level is 696

She was not happy and not prepared to draw any conclusions until I have another blood test of Friday. Oh bugger, I'm not the wiser

What do you think ????????

NotTellingYet · 20/04/2005 15:48

Found this:

  • At 14 DPO, the average HCG level is 48 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-119 mIU/ml.
  • At 15 DPO, the average HCG level is 59 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-147 mIU/ml.
  • At 16 DPO, the average HCG level is 95 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 33-223 mIU/ml.
  • At 17 DPO, the average HCG level is 132 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-429 mIU/ml.
  • At 18 DPO, the average HCG level is 292 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 70-758 mIU/ml.
  • At 19 DPO, the average HCG level is 303 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 111-514 mIU/ml.
  • At 20 DPO, the average HCG level is 522 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 135-1690 mIU/ml.
  • At 21 DPO, the average HCG level is 1061 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 324-4130 mIU/ml.
  • At 22 DPO, the average HCG level is 1287 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 185-3279 mIU/ml.
  • At 23 DPO, the average HCG level is 2034 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 506-4660 mIU/ml.
  • At 24 DPO, the average HCG level is 2637 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 540-10,000 mIU/ml.

I'd say that it's good news, but perhaps that your dates were a little out.

Spacecadet · 20/04/2005 15:53

golds its the same as happened to me, so dont worry, as i said before, hcg levels dont always double ever 48 hours but sometimes evry 3 days, are you booked for another scan?

sweetheart · 20/04/2005 15:58

golds, it sounds positive to me - your original date would make you what - about 30 dpo. But if you dates are out by a week or so that would bring you roughly in line with NotTellingYet's chart.

When you spoke to her did you ask if they would be doing an internal scan?!?!?!

keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

golds · 20/04/2005 16:01

no not yet booked in for another scan.

The nurse just kept saying we don't know anything yet and she would have liked to see it double. Another test now on Friday at 11.30 so will have to wait again until 4ish Friday afternoon for result.

I wish I'd never gone and got checked out on Saturday, should have just rested and put my feet up and not gone through all this hassle.

Ds birthday party starting in 1 hour so better go and get organised.

Thanks for being here

goldenoldie · 20/04/2005 16:07

Golds - mine was 96 at 13 days post ovulation, not that high, but doctor thought that it was enough not to need another one a day or two later, and I'm expecting twins! So yours looks completely fine to me - why won't they explain anything to you?

dramaqueen72 · 20/04/2005 16:35

Saw my dr and got my revised due date of 25th dec! and have an early viability scan on may 6th. not so far away. absolutely bloody terrifed. yet wishing it here...ugh.
golds, sorry the numbers are keeping you worried, or rather your dr worried. HCG levels are always a worry and concern, which is why drs are usually reluctant to rely on them. i hope it all comes good for you. and good luck with the party!
anyone else got/having a 6/7wks scan?
how you doing today nemo? I've just had another nap!

ChaCha · 20/04/2005 16:41

Hi dramaqueen,
I had a scan at 5weeks +3 and another one on Monday at 8 weeks. What bout you?

slappawappa · 20/04/2005 18:06

Hi guys - sorry for the long gap in posting - but congrats to all you future Mums as well..

I went to the doctor over 2 weeks ago and have not been contacted about next appointment with madwife or doc yet... is this normal?? Also, can you ask for a scan or just think - ooh what's going on in there!

How much longer until my nipples stop hurting??????

dramaqueen72 · 20/04/2005 19:10

chacha, will be 6wks and abit wheni have scan, so everyones hoping for heartbeat, i have had 2 missed m/c hence early scan for me.
so what did you see at 5wks? just a sac I would guess?
slappawappa, about eight more months til your nipples stop hurting!
and if youre fit and well with no past history of anything wrong during pg you wont be seen until approx 12wks. call them and ask for an actual date if youre concerned.

ChaCha · 20/04/2005 19:50

Hopefully everything will be fine Dramaqueen, I've read that they sometimes don't detect the heartbeat until later in the pregnancy, maybe 7-9 weeks.
I saw the heartbeat at 5+3, my obstetrician is private so i got an early scan. Long awaited baby .. hope all is well.
Love xxx

Nemo1977 · 20/04/2005 20:14

DQ your dr was good to organise scan while you were there. I am still no more enlightened as to whether im getting an early scan as she just said i will send letter to the hospital but that could just be for normal??????? If i have hear nothing in a couple of weeks may call the EPU myself

dramaqueen72 · 20/04/2005 21:20

gosh how lovely to see such a an early heartbeat! that must of been fabulous we saw our dd2 at 6wk+2 so i'm hoping that we will be seeing good news this time too.
nemo, absolutely ring the EPU yourself, i was going to but my (new) dr said she would. they can be abit fierce at our EPU and quite hard to get early scans so i was glad she asked actually. tho, and i dont know if its a good thing or a sad thing, the EPU remembered me and welcomed me in for a scan as soon as past six weeks. we have top equipment and award winning staff so know if theres anything to be found they can find it! Chacha -can i ask you how much a private scan was? i am determined to have a second 'early' scan at 12wks.....after this official early one i will nto be offered one til 20wks, unless, god forbid, anything feels wrong beforehand. and 12wks is important to me, as any bay after 12wks with me has always survived. any i lost was before that.

my sense of smell has kicked into pg overdrive and EVERYTHING smells awful! i could smell the chewy sweets ds was eating from across a big room and dhs pizza nearly made me heave.......
and eeeugh, my hairspray smells terrible too!LOL

Nemo1977 · 20/04/2005 21:38

lol DQ my dh had pizza for tea to and the smell is stinging my nostrils...yuk

Do u not get another scan at 12wks in ur area?

We get 12wk and 20 and hopefully want one at about 7-8 wks

dramaqueen72 · 21/04/2005 09:32

no nemo, they are incrediable mean with scans around here, one scan at 20wks thats it.
my early scan is a bonus, and as i said, my dr had to be very firm to get that. awful isnt it? suppose its all down to NHS money again.......
hows your sense of smell this morning? its like a whole new world for me! dp reeeeeeks of aftershave and coffee, but dd smells quite sweetly of toast and face cream.....LOL
the supermarket last night had me wrinkling my nose all the way round.....

chocolatefudge · 21/04/2005 10:43

Does anyone know when the midwife will contact me for my scan which is in 4 weeks time? -i will be 12 weeks by then.Saw the doctor Monday just gone and he said he'll pass my details onto the hospital.

I have a tickly cough it started a few days ago it's so annoying not being able to take anything.
Where abouts do you all live by the way?

I'm in Bexleyheath Kent.

george32 · 21/04/2005 11:31

Hi everyone, is it OK if I sneak in here?
I've finally done enough tests to convince myself that I really am pregnant. My due date is 31st Dec so I really am just squeezing onto the end of the thread!

This is my 2nd p/g following a missed m/c in Jan so I'll be having all the early scans and chewing my fingernails off too.

I'm going to be 4 wks on Saturday so really early days for me!! Have arranged to do the "official" test on Monday with DP so can't wait to tell everyone after that.

No real symptoms so far apart from a "urgh" moment when eating toast & butter (butter went out the window last time too).

Looking forwards to spending the next 8 months with you guys. Wishing us all happy, healthy pregnancies.
xx

expatinscotland · 21/04/2005 11:38

Congrats, George!

Saw GP yesterday. Am due 18 December.

We only get one scan here, too, at 12-14 weeks. Don't have the money to pay for a private one.

scully · 21/04/2005 11:51

Congrats George!
I'm in Farnham, Surrey, Chocolatefudge

dramaqueen72 · 21/04/2005 12:21

wohooo welcome george! heres hoping your eight months fly by with ease! we can do it this time!
my Mums b-day is dec 31st!
chocfudge, I'm in southampton, right down here on the south coast.
and your midwife may or may not call, i guess you'll prob get a letter with the time and date on. call her ans ask if you want to know, you'll have to get used to calling your midwife, you just dont see them often at the beginning! everytime you think of something you really wanted to ask you can bet youre weeks away from an appointment. i cannot WAIT till i get by that magic 12wks mark.

babygibbon · 21/04/2005 12:46

I'm in Salisbury, Wilts, so not far from you Dramaqueen. I don't have any symptoms at all apart from a bit of lactation at the very beginning, and a fat tummy due to my inadequate tummy muscles. Last time I had huge, sore breasts, sense of smell, nausea when I didn't eat on time etc. What other symptoms are going on?

Also, when is everyone letting the cat out of the bag, as such?

Nemo1977 · 21/04/2005 13:45

yayyyyyyyyyyyy george....hugs to u hun u prob wont be alone on 31st as even tho im 16th DS went 15 days over

Babygibbon..my symptoms r nausea, cramps, restless sleep, a bit of lactation[which happened early on with pip we lost aswell] must be due to bf ds for a little while..and terrible back pains. O and of course crying at the drop of a hat...lol

We arent telling anyone in real life until we have a scan to say all is well....its killing me to kepe quiet but thats ok..cant believe i will be 6 wks tommorow...where has the time gone??????

dramaqueen72 · 21/04/2005 14:24

nemo six weeks already huh? seems like only yesterday you were telling us! good for you.
babygibbon, (v interesting name there!) not too far from me no, how nice! i thought everyone was in london or way up north!
my syptoms are
feeling abit woooooozy, lol, i feel abit sick and yet hungry but dont fancy anything in the fridge... and feel dizzy from feeling hot too. nice! my sense of smell is in overdrive, and i am bloated/fat/showing already/whatever too. doing the old cliche of hair bobble thro jeans button today. i'm very sleepy and tireness just hits me and i sleep instantly.
m/s doesnt really kick in til week six of me anyhow, and tho i know its horrible, i almost want it here to help reassure me its going to plan!

dramaqueen72 · 21/04/2005 14:26

forgot to add, we may tell nearest and dearest after a good scan, 6 wks? 8wks? after then ish.
no-one beforehand, aside from entire mumsnet of course!
