Jael I have been craving sherry too. How bizarre - I've never drunk the stuff!

Just ordered a pile of maternity clothes from Jojomamanbebe - have a 20% off plus free P&P code if anyone's interested? They do really good short jeans for any of you under 5'2"!

frazzledoldbag34 · 16/11/2008 22:57

oooh I quite fancy some sherry now.
Not going to have some though. Roll on Christmas!

FiKelly · 16/11/2008 23:04

I've bought DH myself the hot milk black sexy chemise for xmas. Should give DH an eyeful even if nothing else is on the menu! Have to stop spending but I know this will make me feel good even when I'm having an old & haggard day!

Momino · 16/11/2008 23:12

hi all.
thank you so, so much for your support and advice. it's good to know I'm not alone (though i'd rather you didn't have the same prob!).
fiKelly, i knowingly nod when you mentioned giving a helping hand (ahem), as that is what happened in the end.
i'll try to explain to him and help him understand that it isn't him at all. i hope this celibate mood blows over soon but am afraid it won't.

Momino · 16/11/2008 23:15

maternity jeans advice again! There is a pair of Dorothy Perkins and Next jeans in my size on ebay. Does anyone know if these two brands run big?

Or, maybe i should just buy them (they're only about £4 with postage if I win).

FiKelly · 16/11/2008 23:17

I gotta go to bed and switch off the computer... DS will be up early as usual and if i'm not in bed soon i'll really regret it in the am! Right, deep breath... I can do it... here I go. Night night x

detsy · 16/11/2008 23:41

momi i have both DP and next maternity jeans and they are both big so think you should be ok - good luck with the bidding!
Off to bed now

detsy · 16/11/2008 23:42

Emmalina - let me know how you get on with your jojo order...

Jennster · 17/11/2008 09:09

Ha so not up for sex or so I thought. I had a really horny dream last night, but then ds is up at 5.30 every morning, and I'm asleep on the sofa at about 9pm, so no chance for us I'm afraid.

DD has a temperature and feeling really rotten.

Maternity pillows (long sausage body ones) are cheap in Dunhelm Mill. Much cheaper than mothercare and shops like that.

MsG · 17/11/2008 11:50

Hi everyone, hope you're doing ok today. I'm going to check out the Cobra non-alc beer - I've been drinking the Becks ones which I like, but be nice to have a change. I've also been drinking Elsberg non-alc wine, but it's more just like a fruity drink really.

Momino I got my first maternity clothes yesterday! Some jeans from Next and comfy black trousers from Mothercare. I thought Mothercare might sell those belt things but they didn't have any! I was chuffed because both the trousers were just in my normal size (18) and if anything the jeans are slightly big. I got "over the bump" ones. I don't have much of a bump yet but I can fold the stretchy material over if I want. I tried some lower jeans and and I don't think I'm going to get on with those "under the bump" ones. I don't like the feeling of them being so low.

I think I'm definitely going to want one of those support bands as my bump grows! I'm starting to find it hard to get comfortable in bed so might get one of those pillows soon. xx

Jael · 17/11/2008 12:02

Spangle noticed in your profile your in Staffordshire, what hospital are you using? Just wondering.

Am really tired today, didn't sleep very well, again. And I'm starving all the time! I'm sure it can't just be me. On the weekend DP cooked a full english both Saturday and Sunday, I then ate a big dinner at lunch and a big huge tea too lol I'm gonna end up a whale at the end of this one I think lol

Jael XX

MsG · 17/11/2008 12:11

Jael, I'm starving all the time too. I think about food most of the time. I don't care about putting weight on, cos eating stops me from feeling sick. x

Momino · 17/11/2008 12:22

thanks for review on next, DP, etc. still have a couple of days on the ebay jeans. they're cheap at the moment, I hope they stay that way!

my appetite is defn back from last week's tummy bug. tucking into jacket pot, cheese and beans with LOs right now!

Jael · 17/11/2008 12:35

Glad it's not just me. I'm thinking about food all the time lol I thought my sickness had stopped until yesterday, when DP had to pull the car over at the side of the road for me lol I'm 15w5d, don't think my sickness lasted this long last time.

Hi all.
My MIL is currently upstairs painting the nursery for us......how organised are we?!!!! Have just eaten a massive brown roll filled with egg mayo (my current obsession). Yum. Then fancied something sweet but don't have anything worth eating in the cupboards so I raided my baking ingredients drawer and ate a pile of chocolate chips (meant for cooking with). Oh dear, I am desperate!
Have so much work to do this pm before school pickup at 3.10 - and no brain power at all. This is not good..........all I want to do is surf the internet and look at Christmas stuff.

There are now 5 bids on my Amby hammock on ebay - it ends tomorrow. Really hope I get it .... it will look lovely in my new duck egg blue nursery! (and No, we don't know if it's a boy but my other two kids bedrooms are dark pink (2yr old) and purple and white (7 yrs old) and am sick of painting rooms girlie colours. My plan is to wait and see what it is when its born then get MIL back to paper one wall with either boy-friendly or girl-friendly paper. Pale pink and duck egg blue will look fine with the cream carpet I reckon if it's a girl.
Oooh wonder what it is????? Bet it's another girl. Craved eggs last time too (and she was a girl). Wonder if that is relevant???
Waffle waffle waffle.
Right off to work now.

mumof3bs1more · 17/11/2008 14:03

Hi all i'm new on here i'm due on the 1st of MAY not sure what i'm having yet but have a scan later and going to find out i have 3 boys already!

pulapula · 17/11/2008 14:03

Frazzled- that IS very organised. We are struggling to know what to do re. nursery.

We have a 5-bed house lol, but we like the current set-up (our room with DS/DD sharing next door, then study, playroom and guestroom up in attic). So we think we will just have LO in with us as usual at the start and then we might put LO in the study.

Then once LO sleeps through, we might put them all in together as there is enough room in DS/DDs room. The long term plan (once they are old enough) is to put them all up in the attic, and have the guest room on the 1st floor next to us.

LoobyLou36 · 17/11/2008 15:06

On the subject of nurseries.

I'm 16+1 ws and don't know if this is too soon to be thinking about such things.
We're not finding out the sex at 20wks and I've been looking on ebay for ideas on bedding etc. Have spotted a lovely set in yellow and white gingham with colourful circus theme, all the bedding is included as well as curtains.
Do you think this would be suitable for both boy & girl?
Do you think its too early to be buying? Don't want to miss out on a bargain but its a really cute set. I know my DH will probably think its too early to be buying.

alapala · 17/11/2008 16:20

SHit shit shit. Just went to pick up my blood test results and the results when combined with Nuchal measure (0.6mm) and age (32) look really bad to me. 1/223 for Downs. Seems massively high. Am sure I had something like 1/3000 last time. Found my doctor and he recommended a specialist scan to decide on amnio (this is all in Spanish, even more confusing). It's a crap result isn't it? What did you all have??

nauseous · 17/11/2008 17:04

Alapala you sound like you're panicking, I hope you're okay. Dont get my results till tomorrow I don't think so not the best person for advice... sorry I can't be more help. I don't suppose it helps to know that my friend had similiar results or maybe less good than yours - and her baby is fine. Hopefully some old hands will be along soon to reassure you a bit..

MsG · 17/11/2008 17:21

Hi there. I'm not having the tests because we wouldn't terminate and I just would find it hard knowing the statistic, I think. Remember the results get worse the older you are.

If you knew you had a 1 in 223 chance of getting a job, you probably wouldn't feel at all confident, would you? I think it sounds worse than it really is, especially compared to your last score. Percentage-wise, it's minimal, isn't it? Less than 0.5% - unless my maths is worse even than I think.

Sorry if that's no help. xx

pulapula · 17/11/2008 17:44

Alapala,

I am not an expert but my consultant said that the nuchal measurement was the most accurate test (better than the blood test) and a measurement was 0.6mm sounds very good to me. My nuchal fold measurement was 1.7mm and my consultant said that it was "average" and it brought my risk factor down significantly. A quick search on the web shows that at age 12 weeks then 2.18mm is average so 0.6mm is very low? Guess it depends how many weeks you are. So maybe the blood test showed something strange up- is it worth you trying to get your blood tested again?

A risk of 1 in 223 is only just into the high risk category which is 1 in 250, and like MsG said, its very low (under 0.5%) so out of 223 women given the same score as you, only 1 on average would have a baby with DS and 222 won't. I would have only considered an amnio if my score was 1 in 100 or worse, so whilst I would have preferred a lower risk, I would have thought chances were i was in the 222. So try not to panic.

runningmonkey · 17/11/2008 17:44

Alapala, try not to panic - as MsG says its still less than a 0.5% chance.

Can someone please tell me that I'll stop feeling tired soon, I just feel so rubbish - I'm doing such a bad job in work, am no help at home (we're trying to get house ready to sell). Its really frustrating as I'm normally a 'do-er' but I just can't summon any energy or enthusiasm to do anything at all.

runningmonkey · 17/11/2008 17:46

have just read back a few messages lol at the hubby buying 'pudding' and coming back with yoghurt. Sounds like the kind of well-intentioned thing my dh does... he went out on fri night to buy snacks and came back with peanuts, the one major thing I am avoiding

alapala · 17/11/2008 18:00

Pulapula thanks that is reassuring. I just hadn't even thought about it, thinking I was quite young . I'll go for that other scan though.
