smiley that is such wonderful news, i'm really happy for you! Now you can tell everyone with joy and relax a bit!

spats i didn't feel really sick until about 8 weeks then i felt yuk for only 2 weeks or so (sorry) now nothing (except heartburn - nice) and am feeling movement now which is wonderful, little flutters which is soooo nice.

I live in Hampshire and know of a wonderful clinic in Fareham near Portsmouth which offer dating scans for £50, they were so nice and gave us a video and tons of pics. Might be worth the trip depending on where you live? they are called First view imaging and can be found on google - not sure of website off hand.

xx

smileycat · 27/01/2009 11:19

Heeby small world when we moved back to UK at the end of July we will hopfully move back into our house if the tenants have moved out by then & we are in Portchester close to the Port Solent end

Joolsiam · 27/01/2009 11:32

Oooh lovely news Smileycat It is heart-warming to hear good news like that, and all the little details I spend so much time on the MC or conception boards where it is (mostly) bad news, that is like a breath of fresh air

Nothing to report here - CD9 or 10, so expecting to gear up for a week of frenzied activity very soon. I was in a hotel on business last night, so hopefully absence made the heart grow fonder and we can start on operation Valentines BFP tonight

I was last in the office I'm working from today on the day when my nausea packed up and left, and I'd had briefly strong cramps in the morning, so with hindsight I think my baby died when I was here in October - at almost 8 weeks This is also the office I was in when I felt some pg symptoms and saw an implantation bleed - am I stupid to admit I've been avoiding the loos on that floor - too many memories

Heebychick · 27/01/2009 12:29

smiley i love port solent and we don't get to go there enough to eat etc, we're in Southampton so not too far away.

jools it's not stupid at all, it is natural to feel like that and it's such a shame that you have to return at all, i guess over time and with your Valentines BFP you will begin to feel stronger but take your time - it was a huge loss and something that will take a long time to get over i'm sure xx

spats · 27/01/2009 12:52

Just found out that a girl from work had a baby on boxing day and it had Downs syndrome.Think it was a surprise. She is 38 so thought she would have had tests. Apparentley she is giving it up for adoption. Now me and another girl who is pg are panicking that something will be wrong with ours. Natural i guess. I suppose whatever nature gives you you get. Oh by the way i am a born worrier. Glass half empty not full kinda girl. You will be fed up with me by 40+ anything bad is going to happen it will be to my baby!!!
Jools i do feel for you. Not been through m/c but must be hard.
SMiley your statistics are good to hear i am 7 weeks today so maybe will stop knicker checking soon (well maybe!!!)

Heebychick · 27/01/2009 14:41

spats that is sad about your friend, what a difficult decision to have to make about a much longed for baby. I would hate to be in her shoes.

I think you to think along the lines of 'if something is wrong then you will cope, no matter what path you take you will find an answer' i know that sounds a bit soppy but it's true, have what tests you feel you would like to have done, be prepared for any answers and if you get a different result to what you were hoping for then take it onbaord and go from there. After all what use is worrying about it now going to do? nothing, it won't change anything by worrying about it, all it will do is make you feel rubbish whilst you should be trying to relax.

Cross each bridge when it comes not before!

SparkyMalarky · 27/01/2009 16:18

Lovely news Smiley - I heard the same stats (I had an early scan at 8 weeks) so will keep everything crossed for you

Spats that's so sad...as Heeby says, what a difficult decision to make. PG is an incredibly worrying time - and I'm finding it much harder second time round too (especially as I had a mc in the summer) - Heebs is right though, if you can take a day at a time - and be comfortable with the choices you make about testing etc - then you're as prepared as you can be for whatever gets thrown at you!

Jools hon - that all sounds entirely understandable. It's so funny how we can look back and suddenly realise what was happening to our bodies. Remember it's not been that long since it happened, and it was a grim time ....so acknowledge those feelings and recognise them for the grief that they are.....and then get on and sh*g like crazy for a Valentine's BFP!! It won't make it go away, but it will get easier.... (hope that doesn't sound flippant - it's certainly not meant to as I understand completely what it's like for you)

All fine with me - had my 24 week check today and bump is doing fine - she kicked me about all over last night - considering I didn't feel anything until almost 21 weeks, she's making up for it now Seems like I've been PG for ages now....and I still have 15 weeks to go!

smileycat · 28/01/2009 07:00

24 wks wow that seems like forever away, but I know it will come around before I know it.
Spats I second what the girls say I too am worried about having the tests done & what I will do if I get a high risk, but I'm not going to think about that now I'm just going to enjoy the fact that I know my bean is in there & is growing as it should be & when it comes to test day I'll start to worry then.

Talking about that as I live abroad at the mo (until August) I have to go back to UK for the tests as they don't do them here, so they are sending me for a proper dating scan tomorrow at a clinic so that they can get a def date to send me to London, that will be 3 before 9wks (it has its perks). I'm pretty sure of my dates so I don't think they will change them much, but thats booked for tomorrow at 5pm so at least I can then start to plan when I have a true EDD date.

The big thing I have to worry about is getting moved back to UK before the baby arrives, I have to wait here till DS finishes school at the end of July & until my DH can get time off to return from UK (he'll be on a course) to help me move out & drive back....so I might be cutting it fine as ds was exactly 4wks early!!!!!

nelix2000 · 28/01/2009 14:46

Hello everyone!!! sorry been so busy! SO glad this thread has picked up!!!! its nice to have poeple graduating over!!
I am 24 weeks on sundaysparky its flown by!
I am still being sick, she is a little mosnter and heartburn from hell! see the midwife on 6th feb, since this is my 2nd you get seen less often which is good, I don't miss going every 2 weeks lol!
Though I have been to the doctors as I have grown a cyst since getting pregnant and I also need to go back as I have developed a squeak in my right ear very odd, but think it can be related to blood pressure. It started when i changed my gym program so wonder if its related?!?

Glad everyone is doing well

C1NDY · 29/01/2009 09:07

Hi all. Do you mind if I join you all?

Heebychick · 29/01/2009 09:07

Hi ladies, Hope all is well with you, nelix that is strange, could it be an ear infection? or to do with blocked sinuses? i have terrible sinus trouble in pregnancy and have had lots of infections - nice.

Yes good that you don't see MW as much, although i quite like hearing the little ones heartbeat. We are struggling with names, thank goodness we have a while to go yet but have no idea on boys names - in a way i wish we were going to find out what flavour we are having to we could concentrate on that name!

Have you ladies thought of names you'd like to share??

xx

smileycat · 29/01/2009 10:36

At the moment we quite like Katie for a girl, have done for the last 10 years when we had ds but if Will's marries his Katie I think it will become too popular so might have to rethink, DH wont entertain a boys name at the mo as he desperatly wants a little girl so when we find out what it is if its a boy will start thinking of names then

C1NDY · 29/01/2009 11:17

Cindy waves at everyone... is it okay for me to join? I am four weeks and a day pg!

Joolsiam · 29/01/2009 11:24

C1ndy - I'm still here and not even PG yet of course you can come in

I was thinking this morning - I actually quite like the taste of GFJ now !!

C1NDY · 29/01/2009 12:47

Oh wonderful.

Well, here I am.. I have arrived again at this stage before... roll on week 12.

Not sure whether I should have an early scan. I suppose I can have one at week 6 or is that week 9... or perhaps better to wait till week 12 (if I get that far).

I feel lot happier and feel positive about this bean.

Joined the FF for the Pg website tracking and its wonderful. Have started to update it and it has loads of wonderful tips.

My favourite boys name is Byron.. but always worried that people would shorten the name to 'By' hummmm

C1NDY · 29/01/2009 13:35

I also love the name Kaya for a girl but it doesn't go with my surname Conway, so will have give that one a miss.

Heebychick · 29/01/2009 13:50

Hi C1ndy lovely news well done honey!!! come on in, the water's lovely!

I love the name Kaya .... and Bryon, boys names are so difficult. Last time we chose Archie was then we had a she so we didn't use it, but not sure i like it so much this time around.

Argh!

WanabeMum · 29/01/2009 19:56

hey everyone,

i know i know, not 12 weeks yet (still only 6+1 today) but i have a question that only you lovely ladies can answer.
When did your symptoms kick in? I only had sore breasts since 2WW and BFP. Then today the feeling of utter exhaustion started and my eyes are sore like i've been up for days. Also, i've felt very weepy today, haven't actually cried but have welled up ssssoooo many times it's embarrassing!

I've got my first appointment with the gp tomorrow andi'm a little nervous. Feel like i'm going to say it out loud and it'll stop being true. Very silly i know but i want this so bad that i'm terrified something will go wrong! Grrrr the neuroticism has just moved over to something else

Help ladies! your fountains of knowledge may calm my nerves xx

smileycat · 29/01/2009 21:18

Hi Ladies
Just had my dating scan & they put me back 5 days. I was pretty sure of my dates but I guess I have to go with what they say. I'm now offically 8wks + 1day & my due date is 09/09/09 great birthday if I go on time

C1ndy I have had sore boobs since OV, but alot worse now, feel bloated all day long & a little sicky in the evening for the last wk, although haven't been too bad today & cried my eyes out at something stupidly silly on the telly this afternoon, good job I was on my own

smileycat · 30/01/2009 08:38

They have just sent through my scan pics from yesterday if you want to take a look I have put them on my profile page

C1NDY · 30/01/2009 10:41

Heeby Allo! its so nice to have finally got a BFP that I still can't believe it but as you know its very early days. Hoping that everything will go well for me.

I have loads of boys names but can't tell in case someone uses the name I am considering - sad eh!! its not like I am famous or anything but I want a name that is different and I have such a wonderful one for a Boy... so will let you know if I don't get a boy on my ... is it the 20 week scan? hehehe!!

C1NDY · 30/01/2009 10:43

Smiley Well I am amazed.. you have a site up and running... I just don't know how to upload anything to my web area!! YOur scanned pictures were wonderful to look at - it must make you more relaxed eh?

smileycat · 30/01/2009 15:36

Thanks for the nice messages on my scan pics I can't get over how much you can actually see at 8wks & only just over 2cm long.

I got told that my nuchal scan will be on 23rd Feb at King's in London so fingers crossed that all goes well & we don't get a high risk & then we can relax & enjoy the pg & start buying in the bucket loads of stuff we will need before the arrival

C1ndy how are you today, has it sunk in yet if you go to 'my profile' in the membership bit below & fill in a page that will be made public ie anyone can see it that clicks on your name, from there you can upload some photos

Joolsiam · 30/01/2009 16:27

I am currently driving myself loopy and getting ridiculously excited about the fact I am certain I will OV within hours, have big plans for seduction of DP tonight and I could be PG again and legitimately on an antenatal forum in 2 weeks time !!!

Will someone please throw a bucket of cold water over me and make me calm down / stop obsessing

When I conceived before, we BD'ed CD9, 11 and 15 (not a particularly rampant household )

I felt ov pains CD15, BD'ed that evening, more OV pains CD16 so I thought the BD closest to OV was the key one - am beginning to wonder now though - maybe I should have been a bit more demanding a couple of days ago ? This is so frustrating !!!!

Fingers crossed DP will co-operate tonight. Last time, with hindsight, I knew at one DPO that sperm had met egg - as my nose started suddenly running like a tap - out of the blue for about 5 minutes
