Great News Heeby

How do I see your page??

nelix2000 · 05/03/2009 08:54

hey all!!! heeby no tips lol...we had started toilet training but with moving at the end of the month then being due a few weeks later I dont think its the ebst time to start with him. I am finding that pregnancy roll and waddle technique now too. Can barely get my shoes on without needing a wee not good!!! Its getting very hard if he decides to fight me. He is a 95cm 2 year old so VERY tall and I am only 5ft 3, so if he decides to paddy mid nappy change its exhausting!!! I try and exhasut him so he sleeps in the afternoon as I have a mass of essays for uni to do before this baby is born!

spats thats brill news about the scan!!! Kinda whish i had one now lol!!!

28 week check tomorrow hoorah!but they are taking bloods and I am squeamish yuck! Glad everyone is ok....I am off to study my socks off!!!

heeyb cant see your page hon!

OP posts:
Heebychick · 05/03/2009 09:08

There that should work now, i forgot to make the page 'public'! I think if you click on my name it should take you there?

nelix good luck with your studying today hun, yes we are too potty training but i'm scared about starting properly! might go cold turkey on saturday and see what happens - eek!

I am dreading the 'fat' stage, my SIL is 36 weeks pg and has a 1 year old and she is really struggling, she's HUGE and having to carry a young baby around as well is taking it's toll - at least ours can walk eh!

nelix2000 · 06/03/2009 10:58

hey everybody!...aw heeby I love scan pics!!! My DS was not interested in toilet training at all so after 2 days I thought "sod it" with moving etc seemed the wrong time. SInce then he has been telling me when he needs a poo and a wee! in his nappy!...but still its a start and if he does it himself all the better he is that kinda kid, seems to just get things and pick it up in a matter of days.

I had my 28 week check today, although I was convinced i was only 27 weeks, no....turns out I was way off base and am 28+3! and my baby is measuring 30 weeks...so another tall one I feel! Feels odd I won't see them until 34 weeks now. AND i need to see the physio as turns out I most likely have SPD. So am not allowed to go the the gym until I see them in 3 weeks

Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Hello everyone

Heeby loved your scan pic

I hope you are all doing well. Its been quiet on here for the past few days.

I?ve nothing much to report apart from I?m feeling less tired and less nauseous. Even my spots look like they?re starting to clear up ? so I?m starting to believe I?ve hit the 2nd trimester ? phew!

I?ve even started to eye up prams/buggies/travel systems. Does anyone have any advice on what to get? I really like the idea of having a travel system but as this is my first and I have now experience of what works or is practical it would be helpful to hear from people who have already had children.

spats · 07/03/2009 10:09

Hey everyon. Well had my London scan on Thurs and my statistics of DS are now 1:8000!! Feeling lot better about it all now. Also for 1st time in ages i have not had to chew gum all day to stop nausea. Still feel sick but levels low enough to get on. Horray!!! Tired though, waiting for that burst of energy they always promise in 2nd trimester but never comes!!

Scan didn't change due date so is still 15th Sept. Have let everyone know now except work, gonna see how long can leave it so they don't get someone in who has to be trained to replae me and i get slowley shoved out!! I reackon if i wear the right type of clothes can leave another month (maybe).

Nelix what are you studying? I had a trainee who was doing her PGc in biomedical science when she found out she was due and she did so well, she had exams 2 weeks before due date, i was so impressed she managed to pull it all off, suppose she wanted to do it so badly which helped.

Pezz there is so much out there now. My only advice would be with the travel system see how heavy the buggies are. I got a muma and papa travel system and when the buggy fold its wasn'y one that folded in an umbrella way and was really hard to pick up and get in boot. I got backache from lifting all the time. Used it for 2nd one but will get a new one this time. Not sure what kind yet as still bit early and as i woun't have anymore don't want a hughley expensive system.I guess you have to just look around and see whats right, but i would say an umbrella folding one is easier.
xx

Pezzina · 07/03/2009 11:20

Spats thanks for the advice re buggys and travel systems, sweetie - there is so much choice it gets confusing. And congratulations on your scan results - that is excellent news

spats · 07/03/2009 13:57

My friend has just brought round all her maternity clothes. She has so many i can't believe it, I have a whole new wardrobe. Can't wait to start wearing some.I resent paying out tons of money on mat clothes as only wear them for few months so this is fab. I have just had a fashion parade. Was just about to hang them up with pride of place in my wardrobe and then thought no, wait a few more week until need them in case you jinx yourself. Is that silly? I am 12.5 weeks now, but you still can't be sure can you?? x

Heebychick · 07/03/2009 14:40

Hi ladies,

Thanks re comment on scan pic, i'm so glad i am finally feeling better and more energetic, and my spots have cleared up (almost) so even better!

pezz I fell in love with a Quinny Buzz travel system and bought a green and pink one (magpie i think) from germany on ebay, it has a carrycot, a car seat and a normal pushchair .. plus points: easy peasy to open (hydralic auto open system) easy to pushone handed and looks great, also maxi cosi car seat can go straight onto it (a must that a car seat transfers to the pushchair base if you ask me - sleeping babies in all that) but negative points are it's heavy, very and a bit wider in doorways as it has 2 big wheels at the back, so lovely in some aspects but not in others. I am noy going to change it when this bub comes as it was pricey but as soon as it's able to sit up i'll transfer to my mothercare basic sit up pushchair.

nelix yes we have done the same thing with DD, she does ask sometimes to go but i'm not going to push her, she'll indicate a bit more when she's ready so will see how it goes. i'm sure we'll be done by the summer when baby comes. Ouch to spd, poor you, that must be painful???

spats my friend did the same this time around, it felt like i'd been on a huge shop - hang them up and wear them girl! don't think any more negative thoughts - that's an order!

nelix2000 · 07/03/2009 15:48

Hello all!!

spats I am doing a degree in english lit, can be trying at times, but well worth it. I love studying! and since I am in no rush to work, I can do it at my leasuire. Although I have been studying full time(summer and christmas included) since DS was born 2 years ago so am looking forward to a summer off this year! I finish in may and will start again in august. Not much of a break but a break nonetheless!

pezz I had a stokke xplory that I loved! again tho its bulky. PLus we love walks in the country and it wasnt practical so this baby has a mountain buggy. But my DS was never in a buggy until he was 7 months as he wa in a sling which I find so much easier and this one will be too for the first few months! unless we are going far and DS needs to go on the buggy board!

heeby very painful. I feel like i did with DS at 39 weeks when you are ready to pop and making a cup of tea exhausts you. Not good but at least I am seeing the physio in 2 and a half weeks! hopefully they can help

Have a fab weekend all!!!

Horray i ate some salad at the harvester for lunch. can't tell you how good it felt to have food going down quite happily without thinking i am going to be sick. Didn't really fancy main course i choose so had to really think about eating it just to fill me up. I really could do with some more of that salad. It had the red sauce on it and was delicious!! Don't think they do takeaway salad otherwise would be there everyday.

Feel in bad mood today, don't know why, tired i guess. If i wasn't pg i would say its PMT. Was awake at 3am having been woken up at 12am with DS#2 climbing into my bed. Just want to get through today and then back to work and then try and get through another week.

I was thinking about Jade Goodey also and think that is depressing me. I have 2 DS the same age and can't help feel for what she is going through, its so horrid. I know other people has terminal cancer and are going throught the same thing but she is so in the public eye it makes you take notice of the situation. Maybe coz i watched her documentry last night it has brought me down, i don't know, maybe its the 12th week hormones!!! CHEER UP SPATS!!! DH is getting annoyed with miserable face Feel like sleeping on settee but i think if i sleep in day if i wake in night it stops me gettin gback to sleep, so guess try and get through next few hours. I am rambling i know, so tired don't know what i am doing. Have good sun everyone . xx

Heebychick · 10/03/2009 11:28

spats honey i'm sending you over an iceberg to cheer you up. I'm glad that you are managing to keep some food down, and if it helps i too went through the 'down' phase, but i am totally over it now and feel great! I'm sure it is a lot of hormones mixing with tiredness and sickness - it's bound to take it's toll.

My DH was asked to write an article for a dad's publication on parenting, he was asked 'what would he have done differently during my pregnancy?' he talked this over with me and thinks he totally misunderstood the tiredness i went through and how it affected me.

It is hard to explain isn't it but it will pass. I has to try extra hard to be cheerful during this time and took simple pleasures at face value - like having a naughty dessert or buying a nice pair of shoes - i also like baking so i made my DH some of his fav cookies etc - just to show i was still a nice person! Hang in there chick, it'll pass soon

xx

Heebychick · 10/03/2009 13:43

Phew ... i just started a debate on another thread about people parking in parent and toddler bays when they don't have children - it took them minutes to fill 3 pages worth of ranting from everyone .... oh dear! tee hee

x

Heebychick · 10/03/2009 13:46

ps - after a lot of thinking over the weekend and chatting to close friend, DH etc i have decided to aim for a VBAC. whilst it is a big change of heart for me, I think i have no reason really why not to and unlike cindy my experience was manageable and not as frightening as yours, although horrid, i do think i can go for it, so watch this space (that's not to say it might change nearer the time!!)

nelix how are you hun? Can i ask what your symptoms of SPD started off like? i have been having some twinges in my pelvic area and hope its just ligaments etc

nelix2000 · 10/03/2009 15:24

Hey heeby hehe yes I hate people parking in parent and toddler lol! at tesco the other day they were all full so I just waited in car with DS while DP went in and I saw not 1 but 3 cars parking there, not one had a child but 2 of them had stickers saying child on board! obviosly left the child elsewhere but parents should no better! rant over.

As for SPD well at about 34 weeks with DS i could barely walk 3 feet without wanting to cry or need a rest, so figured it would come back this time! was undiagnosed last time as midwife jsut put it down to normal pregnancy ligament pulling. Thankfully the one I got this time was lovelly and i never took no for an answer. To answer your question tho, started off with back pain at about 20 weeks, twinges in my lumber region, pain getting up and down etc, since it has progressed to my groin joints making it hard to walk to far. Around a shop is often to much, which is annoying as I am only 29 weeks and its going to get worse before it gets better!..but its life and gives me and DS an excuse to veg around when its bad

OP posts:
Heebychick · 10/03/2009 15:41

Ha ha - great to have an excuse hey! but shame that it is so awful for you, thankfully mine is just a few twinges so hopefully it'll be no worse than that.

Yes parking issues are awful, i try not to get wound up but yesterday i had to waddle in with DD on my hip across the busy car park whilst a guy sat in the parent bay waiting for his girlfriend to get some money out, he had his window open so i took a deep breathe, stuck my bump out and said 'you do realise this is a parent bay ie for parents??!' and his reply was 'sorry love (grrr) i'm just waiting for my girlfriend at the cashpoint, it is raining'

I then stabbed my hair pin into his front tyre.

No i didn't but i don't think that would of been an over reaction ... tee hee

x

nelix2000 · 10/03/2009 17:01

LOL haha bet you wanted to stab him in the eye never mind the tyre!

I really hope you are not getting SPD tho!....my DP said if a person presented at a&e with SPD symptoms they would be given a pelvis xray as they would expect your pelvis to be broken!!! or badly damaged(or something similar lol it was two days ago i cant be expected to remember everything)but its horrendous! mine seems to have settled a bit today, and I don't plan on doing much this week. Really missing the gym tho as feel like more of a whale! Fingers crossed she will come at 39 weeks and only have to deal with 10 weeks and moving house!

OP posts:
spats · 10/03/2009 17:19

what is spd?

people parking in toddler space. Don't get me started, they are so ignorant. I once left a note on the windscreen of one person telling them off. Sometimes to scared to tell eople off face to face, you never know if they are dodgy, but my blood boils when they do it. good for you heeby for confronting him though - i am impressed.

Feelin gless depressed now. THink it was just a weekend thing. Once i am into the routine of the week i seem to be OK. Eating a bit more food but feel a bit yucky tonight. Have been running around like a blue ar**ed fly today so am knackered. Meant to go to my ballet class but feel like just veging - not sure how you spell that actually!!! x

smileycat · 11/03/2009 17:13

Just popped in to read up on how the ladies are doing on the GFJ TTCing site & there are another 4 BFP's so looks like we may have some more company on here very soon.

I had a great weekend we decided to go skiing on Sunday & Monday as it was a bank holiday this Monday for us & the Ski slopes are only 3 hrs away. I took it easy but it was great to have a final ski before I get too big & I can't see myself going again for another couple of years until baby is old enough so it was a great last blow out.

I also bought a angel doppler on on ebay & it arrived yesterday, I spent about 20 minutes looking for a heartbeat & was soooo happy when I got it, tried again today after work & found it in about 2 mins so getting quicker. It really is peace of mind especially at the mo as I'm comming up on 15wks & can't feel any movement yet, although starting to get the odd popping sensation so don't think it will be long.

Bump is getting huge already, I didn't show till 5 months with DS but I think I'll be looking like 8 months at that stage if this one keeps growing at the same speed it is now

Spats I'm feeling sooo less tired now & people are starting to comment on how good I'm looking (as in pg good not good looking)I guess the 2nd trimester is kicking in

Heebychick · 12/03/2009 08:58

That's great news smiley about the BFP's, who do they belong to? any original girls? I do hope so.

I'm huge already too, i feel about 6-7 months but still have ages to go! i guess our tummies are somewhat used to growing with our first babies and sort of know what to do? that's my excuse and not all the extra food i'm eating!!!

Good news about the doppler too, i borrowed one from a friend last pg and couldn't get on with it so gave it back quickly as was driving myself mad, still now i get constant kicks it's very reassuring ... hope your pops turn into rumbles then stretches soon for you xx

Heebychick · 12/03/2009 08:58

...stretches asin baby stretching arms and legs not stretch marks!!!!

Heebychick · 12/03/2009 11:40

I'm sure we mentioned it before but did you all know about the new pregnancy grant offered to mums? it's £190 from the government and you claim it once you reach 25 weeks.

Here is a link www.campaigns.direct.gov.uk/money4mum2be/

smileycat · 12/03/2009 14:58

Heeby
The BFP's are iggypiggy, Queenie, Broodzilla & Kyte
Can't remember if they were around when you got your BFP, but I'll drop them a line to tell them about our site to see if they want to come over

iggypiggy · 12/03/2009 14:59

Hello all

Feel it may be a little early to come over here - but I thought I would say hi now that I have my BFP - and I have everything crossed that the bean sticks and that I can join you all properly over here!

xx
