Luckily I have a red wool coat I bought in H&M last year which has 3 buttons at the top and then is sort of flowy down to the knee.

I am hoping it will do me for a while. I am reluctant to spend money on a coat I'll probably only wear for 2 months. I have lots of big scarves I can wear when it no longer meets in the middle.

By the way- I am taking my lovely new boots back tomorrow! The zip pull came off and it's hard enough trying to bend in the middle and do your boots up, without a zip it's a nightmare!

I'm gutted! Just hope they will replace them.

MarkStretch · 24/10/2008 16:23

Mrsy I am going to make your soup now

chilledmama · 24/10/2008 17:25

coco- chinese gender calendar

lardybump · 24/10/2008 17:30

evening everyone. Hope you are all well.

Lovely dress Coco. I am so big this time that I am not going to get a dress (not that I will be having a xmas do now I am redundant)for christmas but some smart trousers. I have put weight on everywhere even my bottom looks pregnant.....

onwardandoutward · 24/10/2008 17:40

I found a coat in the CLIC - Sargent cancer shop for a tenner! It's black with 3 buttons at the top and sort of empire line, but maybe they'd call it "baby doll". Anyway, not "maternity". Funny thing is how 1980s it feels - and looking around, there are so many students dressed just like fashion-conscious people were dressed in the mid 80s (pixie boots, black leggings, tunic-y dress thing, black beret, and even once recently I've seen one of those little waisted jackets with black and blue checks on, where the blue has a sort of black diagonal stripe through it - remember? eek!). But at £10 it's a bargain for a wool coat. Oh, and it still had the shop label on it, so there's someone with more money than sense as we enter the recession

MarkStretch · 24/10/2008 18:06

MRSY YOUR SOUP IS BLARDY GORGEOUS!

mrsy · 24/10/2008 18:18

I KNOW! And I invented it all by myself!!

Am now feeling less elephant like, as I have spent the last 90 minutes having a manicure and perdicure - yum. We're now off to Bluewater - heaven - and will get some KFC for dinner he he he! Happy Pregnant Lady? That's me!!!!!!!!!

lardybump · 24/10/2008 18:45

I missed the recipe for the soup is it on the last thread?

lardybump · 24/10/2008 18:45

I missed the recipe for the soup is it on the last thread?

thehouseofmirth · 24/10/2008 19:01

Ooh I have to say I'm afraid KFC is one of my guiltiest pleasures! Yum!

MS the coat I tried was actually waist length but I think its voluminosity (is that a word?!) didn't really help. Being a bit of a skinny bird I normally wear quite tailored things otherwise I get swamped and I guess having a beach ball up my top doesn't really help the situation. I was really hoping to get a stylish baby wearing coat that I could start wearing now but apparently that's an oxymoron and frankly pregnancy and motherhood are full of indignity enough without looking like thisor this. What I really want is one of these but they've been blardy discontinued and I can't get hold of one.

thehouseofmirth · 24/10/2008 19:05

Does anyone here speak German?

onwardandoutward · 24/10/2008 19:45

Oh my god, that pointy hat in the second link is the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

Yeah, I speak some German.

Cocodrillo · 24/10/2008 19:45

my DH does

LittleMissNorty · 24/10/2008 19:49

Hello everyone

Just bookmarking thread....will catch up later

Cocodrillo · 24/10/2008 19:50

chinese gender chart confirms DC3 is a girl. that + the mayan thing = foolproof surely?

They asked us THREE times today if we wanted to know the sex, and each time we said no. But I so so so want to know. Gah.

Cocodrillo · 24/10/2008 19:50

i mean

rosieposey · 24/10/2008 19:52

Evening all DP is out on stag night tonight ... so im on my lonesome ownsome although am feeling benevolent so will be on taxi duty at about 3 am ( if i dont sleep through the phonecall )

Am just popping out to get a curry (chicken madras, bombay alloo and mushroom rice - slurp!)then will have some popcorn too

Anyone else up to anything interesting tonight? Its gonna be a long one here! Im going to have a go at making that soup mrsy tomorrow, will be good hangover food for DP tomorrow methinks

herbgarden · 24/10/2008 19:53

Yes, swampster thankfully I had DS with me otherwise I would have been watching last nights Greys Anatomy

Someone was asking re coats - I'm only short 5"1 and usually a 10ish and don't like to wear too big clothes otherwise I just look ridiculous. I bought a short coat which is A-line with a funnel sort of neck in a creamy neutral colour. I've already had lots of nice comments about it - but the a-line thing seems to work well with pg. I got it from Zara where they have lots of this style. I don't have a medium sized bump (!)....

Loving the dress cocodrillo...the colour is gorgeous too.

Will see what I can do with CAT settings if I ever find them ?!

herbgarden · 24/10/2008 19:53

I of course mean that I have a medium sized bump....

TinkerBellesMum · 24/10/2008 22:13

Right answering the last thread and marking my place.

dinkystinky love the last bit of the title! If we make another 20 day thread it will be fantastic if I can get past that point as I will be 28/29 weeks which's getting into a really good age and close to when Tink was born (yikes!)

mumoverseas my parents are about 6 miles away and both work close to me so getting here (I'm at their's) isn't a problem. Tink's doing a lot better, she's still very clingy we had a bath together today which she loved and she's gone over to my brother's today as his kids are going to a birthday party (apparantly she smiled at the birthday boy and got an invite, she has a very magnetic personality!) tomorrow so she's going with them. I think the arrangements we've got are the best we can get really, we're trying to arrange it so that I have her on Wednesday when I'm at the mum's group from church in the morning and every other week I'm at the hospital and she goes in the hospital creche, then on the other week TBD will work from home. I still want to get onto Sure Start and try to arrange something with them, Mum called them this week so I'm going to call them too on Monday and see what we can do.

winemakesmummyclever I think I will be here at least when TBD is away from home, I've not been back to the flat since I've been out of hospital.

swampster · 24/10/2008 22:34

Fingers crossed for another 20 days!

Not envious about anything right now...I just think the green face with the hat looks brilliant...Lions, Tigers and Bears Oh My

mumoverseas · 25/10/2008 04:55

morning all (yes I know its early but its our 'monday' and office hours are from 7am and as DH tiptoes around like an elephant I'm always up early!) DD snorning next to me. Feel bad but since our accident I've had her in with us as having trouble sleeping and like to cuddle her!
About another 20 days and I'll be back in civilisation (if you can call Crawley civilised!) So jealous of you MrsY going to Bluewater my favourite place in the world! so looking forward to shopping without all the bloody shops shutting for prayer time which they do here around 4 times a day. Sometimes you can only get an hour and a half in between prayer times which is stupid!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and hope Tinks enjoys the party TBM. Bless her, she sounds like a real sweetie. My DD who is just a few months younger loves older kids and at party on Friday DH said that a little boy aged around 6 went up to him and asked him to stop her staring at him and following him!

MarkStretch · 25/10/2008 08:12

Morning all here too.

DH came in from his nightshift and so I get kicked out of the bed after a swift cuddle.

Ahhhh it's half term.

A whole week without the usual mad morning rush. DD and I just stood in the kitchen and marvelled at the fact it was 8am and we were both still in our pyjamas. Bliss.

Today I am having a leisurely morning, and then taking my beloved boots back

I think scrambled eggs on toast are needed.

Rosie- what shape was your DP in by 3am?!

spottyshoes · 25/10/2008 08:13

2 things of utmost importance: 1) I am now a devotee of thai Butternut squash soup - as is my mum and most people at work - Thankyou! Had some for breakfast
2) I think I have a crush on Sporticus this week!

Those aside, everyone is being wankerish over the flavour of my unborn and i'm getting the most unbelievable baby rage! What is really doing my head in is people thinking they have a right to asume what we 'want'. I.e "bet you're hoping this one is a girl". Or even worse - "bet you'll be disappointed if this one's another boy eh?" Or my mum's "I REALLY hope this one's a girl - everyone NEEDS one of each" Farkin numpties. I actually want a boy which apparently makes me a bit odd seeing as I already have one I love my little boy and want lots MORE boys and dont feel the need/longing for a girl! People actually have the nerve to give me sympathetic and 'condolences' look when I say this.

Will everyone but me be disappointed if this one is boy? Will they love him less always wishing he was a girl? You see I'm waffling and ranting now - sorry but I'm already feeling my defensive protective mummy thing kicking in with a vengence without even knowing the sex!
