Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Tinkerisdead · 27/10/2008 15:48

im not allowed the mercy shag as i could introduce infection which then prompts the "you must be induced" shit again.
ive been swallowing the EPO, next weeks its going up me fanjo with that sweep!!!!

midwife has given me the go ahead for plenty of orgasms though to release oxytocin...

Tinkerisdead · 27/10/2008 15:52

hana i blame maury povich, rickie lake, trisha etc. they always have these "i didnt know i was pregnant until a baby slipped out in my bed" stories. Its not fair to give people false hope

sparkletoes · 27/10/2008 15:58

Aaah best not then (lucky you really it is not exactly comfortable/orgasm inducing!).

Tinkerisdead · 27/10/2008 16:06

sparkle tried it last week and it was quite stingy, like the tissues were really thin in there and it burned a bit... oh no thanks..glad im on a ban!

Dh said hmmm thats it for 2008 then? i said might be able to muster it on our anniversary 27th dec, but dont hold your breath! ha ha poor sod!! he thought he'd get loads of practise putting it in, 6 weeks of trying and bang. then he thought he'd get loads of time getting it out..nope sex ban!

Pinkali37 · 27/10/2008 16:10

OMG Pinkali is blushing NOT...

Right I have been on the raspberry tablets, have today bought EPO (so what am i doing with it, quite extreme not knowing which end to place the tablet!) have also had fresh pineapple on porridge every morning, and even had the 'mercy shag' as on Saturday night. Think I may leave the latter out as I realise you have to do it a lot and it was awful... well DH bless him realised i was doing it for one reason and one reason only. Probably doesn't help when i'm saying "ooh no don't pull my bump", "yikes that hurt"... Have also picked up leaflet this morning for reflexology and have pregnancy massage booked for Saturday. Head is 2/5 engaged (Which i think my MW is saying only that much is down, rather than that much is how she can feel up iykwim).

Dr's Wife to be fair, you are a step a head anyway just by any part of your waters breaking, if that was what it was!!! Could just be very dodgy pelvic floor muscle.

Pinkali37 · 27/10/2008 16:12

Nipple tweaking too! However it takes about 3 x 1 hr a day to get it right.

Tinkerisdead · 27/10/2008 16:16

hmm yes i may get the breast pump out. Def not pelvic floor probs, im 1000% certain it was waters, smalls sweet bit like sperm smells, was pinky tinge yellow colour. i caught it in tissue and let it dry and doesnt smell of wee at all. i actually made dh smell it so i knew i wasnt imagining it. he did as well, god he must love me! imagine if it had been wee!

prob is as im not leaking now, there is nothing to test etc.

Afternoon all - I am loving the labour inducing methods chat! I am due on Saturday and so I thought I would start trying a few methods. Had my first cup of RLT today, its not so bad and I think I'll have another in a bit.

Also did some bouncing on my birth ball just after lunch on the advice of MonkeyM and I have just returned from my local gym where they were doing a charity treadmill event in aid of breast cancer so I did a 20 min (slow!) walk on it.

DH might even get lucky tonight!!

PS - I am not a fan of the word "fanjo" and minnie is too close to mouse for me, I call mine my flower - trying to keep some of my innocence alive!!

I heard from Obs by text yesterday, she didn't sound too happy so really pleased to hear the expressing is working - I'm sending lots of PMA over to Kings!

ruthosaurus · 27/10/2008 16:53

Just woke up after mammoth nap that I had to have because the bloody BH contractions wouldn't stop! I must say, you lot are getting v competetive - I have visions of you all sat around furiously drinking RLT and eyeing up the EPO speculatively...

There's only one way to find out how to apply the EPO, you know [wibnk]

ruthosaurus · 27/10/2008 16:56

Or , even. Told you I was sleepy.

LolaBella · 27/10/2008 16:57

Hi Guys
Can't believe we are nearly into Nov, there was a time when i thought we might never make it.
Well i'm due on Wed and just been to see mw this afternoon. Same outcome as Heartmum sweep next mon and then induction 5 days later if no developments. Getting so tired of being pregnant now though i do wish my little man would get a shuffle on.
Fingers crossed to all those due this week

ChocOrange05 · 27/10/2008 17:08

BTW - what is EPO?!?!?

MonkeyMargot · 27/10/2008 17:17

Choc It's Evening Primrose Oil

ruthosaurus · 27/10/2008 17:18

And you thought it was something really rude...

MonkeyMargot · 27/10/2008 17:32

Hello all! It's taken me all day to catch up. I can't remember everything now!
I got the pic of Obs baby boy too - what a cutie! Hope the feeding is going better for them.
Lacks glad your appt went well today. You sound really sorted.
Choc hope the bouncing and activity at the gym starts things moving for you!!
Vbabs - you ok now? You sounded really down after your disappointing Sat. night. I never leave stuff to chance - I don't "hint" anymore!! Blokes are rubbish at second guessing us. And generally hopeless at the romance bit.
First day of MAT leave today, and I've been so busy I haven't had chance to post til now! Baked some scones, chatted to lots of friends and have cooked a HUGE quantity of beef bourgignonne to freeze in portions. Feeling v.domesticated!!
Just watching Philip Glenister (aka Gene Hunt/Life on Mars) on TV - he's so gorgeous...

MummyNic · 27/10/2008 17:45

Loving the chat about bringing on labour. I'm under strict insturctions not to go into labour until Thurs (day of the sweep) at the earliest - due to DH's assistant being on leave this week (half term).

I need a moan now:

We live on a busy road and over the road is a great place to walk dogs / a great childrens play area. Today I took my dog out for a quick walk, half way round I had really bad pains in my tummy. So when I came back I was standing at the side of the road, dog lead in 1 hand and my other hand clutching my tummy - I was clearly in pain and, being almost 39 weeks, I look huge. But the ignorant people in their cars just drove past, at times I was doubled over in pain but they just acrried on - God I am angry. Why are people so bloody ignorant? I have written to the local paper, the council and the MP today - there needs to be a crossing installed badly.

Rant over.

ChocOrange05 · 27/10/2008 18:02

So what are we supposed to do with this EPO?? Sorry if I have missed this already!

LackaDAISYcal · 27/10/2008 18:12

so who wants to hear about my super twanging clanging pelvis?

OP posts:
ChocOrange05 · 27/10/2008 18:33

MummyNic people are bloody ignorant, and competely rubbish sometimes - we don't have a proper pavement on our road and so the cars park right next to the house and lately stupid idiots have been parking right in front of our pathway to the house which means I have to climb over a little wall to get to my house - and if I had a baby with a pram I wouldn't be able to get in or out of the house!!!! Just wanted to share that rant!

LackaDAISYcal · 27/10/2008 18:45

mummynic, can't believe that no-one stopped to see if you were OK let alone stopped to let you cross the road

choco, can you not get a no parking line painted?...or put up a nice sign? Failing that, broken glass and nails might be effective.

MummyNic · 27/10/2008 19:23

Daisy I know I would have probably stopped. I saw a lady fall over as she put her bin out a few years ago, I was stuck in traffic and about 6 cars just drove passed her. I stopped as she was lying on the pavement by the time I got to her - even a man on a cycle (so easy to stop without holding up traffic) just rode pass the scene. She'd taken a lot of skin off her fingers so I put her in my car and took her to A&E (she lived alone). Turned out she needed skin grafts. If I hadn't stopped I have no idea what would have happened as she was clearly in shock and thought a plaster would suffice TMI ALERT: I could see the bones in the 2 fingers so knew it was very serious.

People's ignorance makes me so angry.

Choc I would write a few little notes and put them on their windows or, as Daisy suggested, contact the council and have a line painted - or buy some paint and get DH to do it!!

I'm better I've ranted now - DH has had the brunt of it too and, to top it all, I burnt the potatoes!!!!

Mars Bar required!!!!

ceebee74 · 27/10/2008 20:01

Evening all

Mummynic wow, some people are just so ignorant or oblivious to what is going on aren't they?? No wonder you are furious about it. How are you feeling now? Have the pains stopped?

Daisy super clanging pelvis?? Go on, spill the beans then....

Loving the talk of how to bring on labour - I did it all last time round but am waiting to see the outcome of my consultant's appointment tomorrow before embarking on the RLT, nipple tweaking etc

I also had a membrane sweep booked last time round but fortunately DS decided to make an appearance the day before it was due to happen as I believe it is not very pleasant.

Sparks I also love the transformation of DS when he has had a haircut - I have his done every 4 months so by the time it comes around, his hair has grown quite long and curly and he looks just yummy (if a little girly) so when he has it cut and looks like a little boy, it is quite a shock (but a pleasant one of course)

Saurus I would go for the haircut now even if you don't think it really needs doing. Once the baby arrives, it really is the last thing you want to do as you either have to take the baby with you or can't bear to leave it so definitely do it now. I am going tomorrow to have mine done although some stupid person thought it would be a good idea to make the appointment for 9am even though I knew I would be on mat leave

misdee · 27/10/2008 20:07

evening!

HSM3 was ok. the girls loved it. i didnt like it as much as the other two films. i did get dh to buy me ben and jerrys ice cream though lol.

midwife appointment on weds, whooo hoooo.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/10/2008 20:18

I was carrying DD earlier and I went to sit on the sofa to change her, and as I sat down (with legs splayed...nice!!) I felt my pubis symphisis joint actually twanging, like it was pulled apart and then it clunked back in again (like knuckles being cracked). I was , but although I could feel that something had happened, it wasn't actually sore as such. Anyway, DH came and helped me up and...hey presto SPD pain has GONE

so, we went to the park and had a good long walk, and I took DD for a wee spin on DSs scooter , and although I feel like I've overdone things, the SPD is still gone. But, I think virgil's head has gone even deeper in my pelvis as the backache and period pains are horrible this evening.

swings and roundabouts I suppose. I'm now sitting here thinking, is this the start of something, as I'm getting pretty regular tightenings, but am erring on the side of it being down to overdoing things in the usual stop/start fashion of this pregnancy.

although if it is starting; I highly recommend scootering as a natural induction method
