also is anyone else having lower abdominal ache?? i keep having a panic in case im miscarring (i know im paranoid)as im only 4weeks, not constant pain just comes and goes????advice please

Diddle · 17/03/2005 11:32

twinkle 1, i was told at my booking in that getting twinges and slight aches was normal as your muscles adjust, if you start getting period type cramps then maybe it is worth taking it a bit easier and fi it gets worse, contact the doctor or midwife.

Diddle · 17/03/2005 11:34

peepee keep your fett up and get plenty of rest. It sounds like it might just be normal discharge that happens around this stage. stay positive and enjoy the sun.

HellKat · 17/03/2005 11:35

Morning all.
Peepee- I understand EXACTLY what you're going through hun. I literally only just stopped bleeding Tuesday morning after a whole week of it. After a couple of mc's, we thought the worst. But it stopped and I feel more pg than ever! Have a chat to your hospitals early pg unit or your mw. They were all fab with me and have booked me in on Monday for an early scan to put my mind at rest. Try not to stress too much and try to relax. Talking to them will help.
Welcome Tania2 and Busyalexsmummy!
Hope everyone's well today. I'm great apart from tired (not sleeping well then waking up at 4am), and trying sooooo hard to resist choc but not working!!!! (will balloon out of my jeans forever!).
Take care all. Rest up and have fun.
xxxxxx

Twinkle1 - I am due on the 11th Nov, so I will be starting my 7th week tmrw. I think I can feel my uterues, is that normal at this time? It feels very hard when i press lightly and seems to be protruding a little above my pelvis!

Peepee - the fact that the discharge is brown sound positive as I have read that can be quite normal in early pg - just enjoy the lovely day and stay positive!!!Hope the book is good!

Twinkle1 - I have had abdominal pain since I knew i was pg, just like my period was about to start. It comes and goes and seems worse in the evening and at night. It is also accompanied by a lot o gas(lovely)! I have read it can be your utereus stretching - I told the dr and he didn't seem worried at all!

tex111 · 17/03/2005 11:47

Peepee, I'm so glad you checked in and the brownish discharge sounds very normal. Good idea to put your feet up and relax. Glad you're feeling positive about it.

Twinkle, I might have a planned section this time. I had an emergency section with DS which went really well and I recovered quite quickly. Tempted by the elective section because (sorry if TMI) I had terrible piles with DS and I worry about doing myself serious injury if I try to push a baby out . It would also be nice to be able to pick a date to have the baby and make arrangements for DS rather than a middle of the night dash. Still undecided though.

CP3 I had leaky boobs with DS but it was later in the pregnancy. I would guess it's just because it hasn't been that long since you gave up breast feeding and probably totally normal.

I've been having some crampy pain when I cough (which is often at the moment). I have to pull my legs up if I'm laying down at the time. I do remember having this with DS though. I think those muscles are just stretching and a bit sore. I think I've felt my uterus too Enthusia! I laid on my stomach the other night and felt a kind of firmness in my lower abdomen.

Diddle · 17/03/2005 12:29

Enthusia, as you know i'm due the same day, but i worked it out that i am at the end of the 7th week on sunday, is this because we may just have different length cycles?
vey odd. first day of last period was 30th jan.

Enthusia · 17/03/2005 12:35

Hi Diddle

The first day of my last cycle was the 4th Feb and my cycle usually lasts between 28 and 32 days! I don't quite know how it is all worked out but a website said the 11th as did my Dr!

Sounds as if they should be different doesn't it?

Diddle · 17/03/2005 12:39

yes, my cycle is always 35 days long, well i'm sure neither of us will pop on the actual day anyway. Feeling more preggers this week. more tired and achy and rushing to the loo more often which i am veet pleased with. I will be happy as long as i feel pregnant. plus my DH keeps telling me ow big i'm looking which i actually like for the first time ever. i've always looked forward to being pregnant.
hope you're feeling alright today not too tired i hope.

Diddle · 17/03/2005 12:50

checked on a website and they say my due date is the 6th but the midwife said ti was the 11th how strange, its hard to work out because my last bleed was a miscarriage so not really a period. i think they must add a week on because of this.
will find out more at my scan in April

Enthusia · 17/03/2005 13:23

I am not feeling too bad just very sick in the morning and evening (not being sick just feeling sick), windy(!), bit crampy in the evening, completely off eating aything green and starting to be able to feel my utereus which is exciting! Oh, and also my breasts are SSOOOOOO painful, going to buy a support bra tonight. How are you?

Diddle · 17/03/2005 13:33

i'm feeling very achy, my back is killing me. i'm going to put my feet up in a minute and try and keep the little ones quite for a bit.
Feeling sick a lot but i haven't been sick either. Knackered all the time, like i've been awake for a week.
Breasts are sore too, got my maternity bra on which i bought for the first pregnancy and its tight already. feel like a beached whale, have tried to feel my uterus but its not big enough yet, probably too much chocolate in the way. My midwife tried to feel it and said that at about 8 weeks she might be able to feel it. maybe you're having twins

Enthusia · 17/03/2005 13:36

Bit worried about the twins thing actually, as when I did my pg test I thought i was a day late but I actually was only just b4 my period but the test was extremely postive and I have read this can be sign of twins aggghhhhh!

Diddle · 17/03/2005 13:51

oh wow, i was only joking, but its always possible. does it run in the family? not that it needs to i suppose, it has to start with someone. how lovely. oh you'll have to ask the midwife to check when you see her, when have you got to go? ahve you been booked in?

twinkle1 · 17/03/2005 14:32

enthusia, what u can feel above your pubic bone at seven weeks would be your bladder! you shold not be able to palpate (feel) your uterus until about 10 weeks plus when it rises into your adominal cavity. as a student midwife i never managed to palpate a uterus until 11 weeeks

twinkle1 · 17/03/2005 14:43

i have to add enthusia, that is in a single pg!!! if u r expecting more than 1 you may be able to feel it earlier (not to worry u

Enthusia · 17/03/2005 16:18

Anyone else out there feeling much angrier than normal? I feel so angry I think I am going to burst and it is not about anything particularly huge!

twinkle1 · 17/03/2005 16:26

prob just your hormones mind u i feel quite angry but them im trying to make the kids do there homework!!

Diddle · 17/03/2005 16:54

i feel angry too. my hubbie has just come in and asked me to make him a bacon sarnie and make him a hair appointment. i'm still working, looking after 3 kids and feeling very rough today. achy and lifeless. so i very sarcastically said that i would do it. think he got the message, as i if i don't have enough to do.

Enthusia · 17/03/2005 16:58

As for my utereus - not sure whether it is that or my bladder. It feels very tight and bumpy - dh compared it to a tight elastic band!

rodeo1 · 17/03/2005 20:56

Evening everybody,

just signing in for the evening, hope everyone is well, good to hear from you diddle. Welcome and best wishes to the new ladies!

busyalexsmummy · 17/03/2005 22:39

got my scan tommorrow, to see if there is a heartbeat and how many weeks i am

Diddle · 18/03/2005 08:04

Good Luck Busyalexmummy, hope you're scan goes well.
I can't believe how late some of you are on here at night. I was tucked up in bed at 8.30pm, was knackered and feel like i haven't been to sleep now i;m up again.
Thank god its Friday, hope you all have a good day.
We've got friends coming for the weekend and i don't think i am going to be able to keep our good news from them, apart from the fact i look like i pregnant, and i won't be drinking my usual bottle of wine. Think they might guess.

twinkle1 · 18/03/2005 08:16

goood morning everyone hpe u r all feeling well!!good luck to busyalexsmummy, hope all is well.

cp3 · 18/03/2005 08:33

Diddle we are in a similar situation. I think my due date is 18th of Nov. The Doc reckons the 6th of November. Will have to wait for scan for definate date. What a pain im so impatient.

Twinkle this will be my third section. I actually recovered quicker after the second as i know my limitations and what to expect. Im not worried at all about another. I have displaced pelvic bones so cannot give birth naturally as we discovered with my first.

I dont feel pregnant at all today or yesterday. I may have to test again.

Thanks Tex, i wasnt worried about my boobs, just curious really. The doc said its just cos because i have such young children which i breastfed and now my hormones are all up the creek again with getting pregant again.

Peepee how are you? Been thinking of you
