Ok have decided that this weekend is now going to be a special one.
Diddle,Cp3,Lexy- This is for you. This weekend you are under strict orders to do whatever you want. If you have children, try and get a babysitter (even for a couple of hours) and make this a weekend just for you. Pamper yourselves, go for a walk in the country, a pub lunch whatever. As long as it makes you all feel fabulous.
As for the rest of us, let's do the same. Let's make this weekend one to remember. Before we get too big to waddle anywhere .
Diddle,Cp3 and Lexy- Use it to grieve, celebrate your health or just whatever will help you to ease some of that pain.
(Shame I have'nt got a fairy godmother cossie ).
Be very interesting to see what we all do over the weekend.
If it's a crappy idea tell me lol. (I just like excuses to do what I want for a change at w/ends instead of what ds1 and dp want).

BEKsmum · 13/04/2005 09:29

Oh Cp3, I'm so sorry I've only just logged on after last night and I'm absolutely gutted for you, you must be so worried. I hope the scan can give you both a definite answer as to be left in limbo like Diddle was must be worse than knowing either way. If it really is bad news I hope you can take solace in your three children and your dh, you sound like you have a very strong & supportive family around you and you've also made good friends on here if we can be of any help, if you want to chat to me my e-mail is [email protected] and I'm normally around for most of the day. Sending you {{{{{hugs}}}}}, look after yourself today.

I've just cried my eyes out reading this thread this morning 'cos like Hellkat said I feel closest to CP3, Diddle, Rodeo, Hellkat, Tex & Twinkle and can't believe that two of you have had such a rough time. Makes you wonder why we put ourselves through it sometimes.

Peepee good luck with your scan too i'm keeping everything crossed for both you and CP3. I hope both of you will stay around to chat as to lose you would be horrible, we're all glad that Diddle has stuck around to chat even though it must be difficult.

I've probably gone on for far too long here but am keeping everything crossed for you guys today and will check in later if you need to chat.

HellKat · 13/04/2005 09:36

Totally agree Beks.
I'm normally pretty unemotional but when I'm pg oh god hormone overload. I was in tears too.
Everything's crossed for Cp3 and Peepee. Best of luck for today girls.

BEKsmum · 13/04/2005 09:37

Hellkat, I agree, motion carried we are all to have a nice weekend, we all deserve it no matter what our situation. I make Saturday mornings my own while dh & ds go swimming, I lay in bed, then have a long relaxing bath then meet them in town for lunch, lovely!

Ds is a daddy's boy so is quite happy to ignore me for most of the weekend anyway and always starts every weekday morning with hello mum, where's dad?, nothing like making you feel special and that's nothing like it lol.

Chocolatequeen, thanks for the image you're not far off, thing is ds is 3 and nearly 3.5ft tall so you can imagine what we look like carrying a potty around when he looks more like a 4/5 year old!!!

I dreaded potty training, which is why I left it so long but the best advice I can give is to do it when you can stay in for a whole week, without too many distractions. Then include lots of bribes and rewards, a sticker chart with the promise of a big present at the end of the week worked for us. You can add distractions later in the week like having a frend over to play, just to see how you are really getting on but expect lots of accidents for the first day or so and then if he is ready it should improve quite quickly after that. Hope that helps

HellKat · 13/04/2005 09:43

Sounds good Beks.
Lol at you description of your son. (smiling remembering mine walking around potty lol). I did it with him when we had loads of uninterupted time together. Funny remembering taking him out (before pull ups came along) wearing a teeny pair of pants under his jeans with a sanitary towel in them. Yep a pad. Came in handy if he had an accident (which was rare). He was easy to do and dry all day before 2 but nightime was a nightmare. He was'nt dry until nearly 4.

rodeo1 · 13/04/2005 09:47

rodeo1 · 13/04/2005 10:16

Sorry if you all think I'm being a nosy cow but has anyone else seen the 'please help' messages on the birth announcement and childbirth boards that have been deleted? I wonder what she must have put? Hope I don't get thrown off MN? Maybe I should shut up!

HellKat · 13/04/2005 10:27

Which one Rodeo? Have'nt seen them yet

HellKat · 13/04/2005 10:30

Oh see what you mean. Hmm makes you wonder what she must've put to be deemed as dangerous?

BEKsmum · 13/04/2005 10:44

Twinkle, nice timing with the post I was about to ask what had happened to you. Hope you have a fun holiday.

Rodeo, Hellkat, I just looked at those messages too, poor girl sounds like she's having a bad time of it, she must have put too much personal info about how to contact her in the message I suppose.

Girls please help a dozy mother, I did hand and feet painting with ds yesterday afternoon with Crayola blue & green paint pens but now after repeated scrubbing with soap and a nailbrush last night and time to play in the bath this morning it still won't come off completely, and he has pre-school this afternoon, any suggestions?!!!!

tex111 · 13/04/2005 10:47

Peepee, Lexy and CP3, just read your news and I'm so sorry. I wish I could just give you all a big hug. It's so devastating to lose a baby. It helped us to have a small ceremony of our own to pay our respects and say goodbye. Another lady on one of the boards planted a rose bush for the baby she lost. I think doing something like that can help. It's probably a bit early thinking about these things now, but just know that you should do whatever helps you cope.

My Mom said something after my second miscarriage that has stuck with me. Now, you have to imagine this with a thick Texan accent , 'Well, baby, they weren't here long but they sure were loved while they were here.' Another thing that helped me was something Nigella Lawson said about grief. She said that you never get over losing someone, but you do learn to deal with the pain.

I'm thinking of you guys and I'm so sorry that you're going through this.

HellKat · 13/04/2005 10:52

The only thing I know of that gets rid of most stains are trusty babywipes. They get rid of tough spag bol stains on carpet.

HellKat · 13/04/2005 10:53

Aww Tex. That's so sweet what your mum said. What a fab idea about planting a rosebush or tree.

BEKsmum · 13/04/2005 10:55

Tex that's really nice what your mum said, it reminded me of what a friend says when explaining the loss to a young child. She always says that the baby was really loved & wanted but couldn't come and live with the family so have gone off to be a star that will watch over their brothers and sisters everynight.

BEKsmum · 13/04/2005 11:00

Thanks Hellkat, I've just checked on him and it looks like the colour has finally come off, he just looks like a wrinkled prune!!!

HellKat · 13/04/2005 11:00

Aww Beks!
That's adorable

HellKat · 13/04/2005 11:01

Lol. poor thing

BEKsmum · 13/04/2005 11:06

Ladies found out what the Please Help message was there's a brief run down on the Only Joking file, under please help me.

HellKat · 13/04/2005 11:10

About the rabbit?

chocolatequeen · 13/04/2005 11:48

Really feeling for all of you who have been having such a tough few weeks. Really hope that MN has been a support to you. Please let us know how you got on at your scan cp3. Words can't really express very much at times like this, but please remember that these times will pass, and there are brighter, beautiful things up ahead for all of you that have been dealing with this sadness. Try to focus on the future, and be kind to yourselves.

Beks - thanks so much for advice - just want to get on and do it now. Had a shocker when staying at my parents house - Mum really keen to start training, so bought some tiny pants (sooo cute, never thought i'd say that about y-fronts), and put them on him. Even when he was outside, doing REALLY interesting and absorbing things with my dad. Well you can imagine. The most enormous poo you have ever seen, an elephant would have been proud of it. Inside pants, inside trousers, inside outdoor all in one suit. Obviously, not really bothering ds, he wanted to stay outside with grandad. Wish you could have seen the scene in the bathroom - there was poo all over shower, bath mat, ds's hands, hair, face, mummy's clothes, hands. Total shocker. Actually ended up crying in frustration, which upset ds who just kept saying sorry mummy sorry mummy, which made me feel even worse. So now been put off, but will perservere. Just keep focusing on fact that there aren't many 18 year olds still in nappies, so we will have to get there in the end......

Have also been intrigued by PLEASE HELP messages - am going to go and look now!

Read awful thread last night in bereavement section - mother of 3.5 ds, who is dying of a tumour. Horrific. Cried and cried and cried. Keeps everything in perspective.

xxx

HellKat · 13/04/2005 11:56

Oh god Chocolate! I just read it and had to leave a message.
How shitty is that?
Damn. Makes you think just how lucky and blessed we all are.

Diddle · 13/04/2005 13:06

CP3 - are you ok, is everything alright? what happened. we're all thinking of you.

yingers74 · 13/04/2005 13:30

cp3 and lexy - I am so sorry to hear your news. Please try and get some rest and if you get the chance pls try some of the other threads, it was a real comfort to me to be around others experiencing the same thing.

peepee - good luck with your scan, my fingers are crossed, I too am with queen charlottes.
