Hi girls sorry i havent been about but my pc is playing up big time may have a virus but virus check wont pick it up.Arggghhh so frustrating.

Just quickly read through and noticed that alot of you are having ms. Yuck i still havent got that but iam only 5 weeks. Iam actually quite worried that i dont have many symptoms. I do have sore boobs and Yeah they have grown! but to be honest not really much else some days i feel really tired and some days i have heaps of energy. I really cant remember what i was like at 5 weeks with ds as i didnt find out i was pg till 7.5

I know this may sound silly but i think my tummy is kinda expanding i do have a tummy still from ds but it has kinda filled out a little missing that crease between my belly button and lower tummy. does anyone know what i am talking about?? i know that your meant to show earlier with the 2nd but surely not this early??? Is anyone only 5 weeks too and not really having symptoms. I am lucky though i do get to have a scan at 6 weeks because i have done the ivf thing.

Hope you all feel better today and i have heard that vit b is also good for ms and ginger. I had it really bad with ds the whole day i would just have to eat crackers all day or ginger biscuits.

Diddle · 23/03/2005 12:31

Tania2 - yes my tummy has expanded loads, you know when you're really full and you can't suck it back in, well mines like it all the time. It was from about 5 weeks, i am now 7 1/2 weeks. Its normal don't worry. I'm sure people will be able to tell i'm pregnant just because of this and its my first child.

busyalexsmummy · 23/03/2005 13:37

hmm yes, this is baby no 2/6th pregnancy and i feel very bloated, already had a tiny bit of "baby belly" left from having ds feb 04 but it doesnt help with the bloatedness!
We want to try and keep it to ourselves as long as we can, we have told about 2 people, but are holding off telling in-laws as we know theyre not going to be happy(not that its any of their buissness)!although with summer coming and judging how big i was with ds, not sure how long we'll be able to keep it a secret, by 6 months with ds I looked huge!!

Has anyone on here suffered from spd in pg before? i had it with ds but not till past 30 weeks, i was in the kitchen earlier and felt a pain in my groin and thought omg thats the pain i had with spd, surely it cant be here this quick???

cp3 · 23/03/2005 14:39

7 weeks now and still no sickness, really strange for me. Think i must be ahead of mysef by a week or something. Now my colds getting better i actually feel really healthy

HellKat · 23/03/2005 17:00

Busy- I had really bad Spd from 20 weeks onwards. Apparently (according to articles on it) it can occur earlier with consequetive pg's.
I was up at stupid o' clock this am (like most mornings). I wake around 4 then can't sleep (need loo etc) then to awake to sleep. Ds normally wakes anywhere between 6 and 7 so not much point in going back to bed. Did grab a nap this afternoon though

tex111 · 23/03/2005 17:45

Just popping on to say that I'm using the seabands and they seem to take the edge off the morning sickness a bit. I'm also using Preggie Pops which are great if you have to get in a car, train, etc. I bought them from www.mothersbliss.co.uk.

Hope you're all not suffering too badly. It's been pretty tough here today but all for a good cause!

Enthusia · 23/03/2005 18:05

Don't want to jinx myself but am feeling a little better at the mo and have been able to eat a little today. Was so glad I was sent home from work - really felt it has helped me recover better and get myself back on my feet.

Don't know whether it is the Dr's medicine that is helping, the seabands, the ginger or the grazing every 2 hours but I am hoping I am on the up! Hope the rest of you are doing ok!

Tex111, how are the preggie pops different from lollies and what do they taste like?

rodeo1 · 23/03/2005 20:20

Hello Girls,

Good to hear you're felling a bit better enthusia!

Wow! Twinkle you've told the children! I daren't yet - they'll blab to everybody!

Just watching you are what you eat and Dr Gillian is examining the woman's poo!! Gross! Just finishing off dd's easter bonnet for her parade at school tomorrow. I'm sure there's a few of you doing the same - and if you're not you will be doing in 4-5 years time!

Diddle · 24/03/2005 08:12

Well i'm having a good day, i feel rough but happy. I am now further along in my pregnancy than when i had the m/c, so feeling much more positive.
Enthusia - glad to hear you're feeling better.

I was wondering if anyone had any solutions for avoiding stretch marks. Why do some people get them and others don't? Perhaps avoiding is the wrong word, reducing might be better.

I hope you all have a good day

busyalexsmummy · 24/03/2005 08:23

Well unfortunately its genetic, if your mum had stretch marks chances are you will too, as for reducing them there are many creams etc on the market that claim to lessen them but the evidence of that is rather small, the best thing is just to keep hydrated (sp) and eat as healthly as you can

cp3 · 24/03/2005 08:38

Didddle put cream on your belly twice a day. You could try that cocoa butter one especially for stretch marks and doesnt cost a bomb either. Three children on and ive been really lucky and not one stretch mark, so as the others say i think it must be genetic.

Still no sickness for me.....

juicychops · 24/03/2005 08:45

Morning. Ive just had a baby and i only got one stretch mark (right where my belly is pierced). I used that Palmers Cocoa butter formula from Boots once a day or twice if i remembered. I had stretch marks on my bum and thighs already and it actually made them ones fade right down and firm my skin up. Id recommend that... its great! only bout £3 a bottle

cp3 · 24/03/2005 08:59

Thats the one Juicy palmers.Smells gorg too.

HereDiddle

twinkle1 · 24/03/2005 09:33

busy is right its geneticly determined, you get them because tissue under lying skin does not stretch but kind of tears (although there is no pain) the more collagen you natuaraly have in your tissues the less likely you are to get stretch marks!! no good reasearch to say any creams work but feels nice and aything is worth a try!!! hope you are all feeling well twinkle

Diddle · 24/03/2005 10:31

Thanks everyone will stock up on cream, i'm glad you said it was genetic because my mom has not stretch marks from me or my sister, will ask her if she had any when she was pregnant. its looking good for me though. fingers crossed. I like the sound of pampering my belly twice a day.

busyalexsmummy · 24/03/2005 10:37

Right i have a dilemma, we have a matrix jane 360 powertrack, now ds is now in the seat bit and the matrix bit is in the attic, i would like to use for baby no2 as it cost me £500+ with all the accessories etc so was thinking of buying a buggy board/seat to go as jane dont do toddler seats to fit their prams, ds will be 21 months when chicken is due so do you think he'll be old enough for buggy board? - i was thinking that i could use matrix system with chicken on long days out with dp then use small buggy for ds so he could sleep, or use a marco twin stroller but i would say the second seat is suitable from 6 months(i wouldnt put a baby in from 3 months as it doesnt recline very far) any thoughts please??

Diddle · 24/03/2005 11:30

busyalexsmummy - i have a buggy board for my childminded children and the youngest i have on there at the moment is a 26 month old, he is more than stable on there. He holds the handles and i put my hands over his. They're brilliant. If he can stand well then you will be fine.

tex111 · 24/03/2005 12:51

Enthusia, the Preggie Pops are herbal and come in a bunch of different flavours like ginger, lavender, sour fruits, etc. My faves are the sour fruits but when I was pregnant with DS I bought a variety bag so I could try them all. They do them in boiled sweets now too which is great because I did feel a bit conspicuous with the lolly stick poking out of my mouth all the time. I was very sceptical about the Pops and Seabands but they do seem to make a difference.

As for stretchmarks, I used Body Shop Body Butter with DS and didn't get a single stretchmark on my belly but got loads on my thighs. This time around I'm going to use it all over my body! DH bought me a Miriam Stoppard massage oil from Blooming Marvellous that I've been using and it's reduced the appearance of my old stretchmarks which really surprised me. I've also heard that Clarins Tonic Oil is very good too.

DH and I were having the double-stroller debate this week. DS will be over three when the new baby arrives but there are times when he gets tired and his stroller is a godsend. I think we're going to buy a new single stroller with a kiddy board and a lightweight double for occasional use. I know there are times when I'll really want one.
