Morning all, hope everyones feeling ok today.

CP3 we do sound alike, although I found out the truth in the saying that morning sickness doesn't just happen in the morning last night, as I was talking to mother nature on the big white telephone from midnight till 4am!!! I think I jinxed myself with my last post.

Feel better this morning although ds is being a little monster and I'm knackered from two nights of no sleep so patience is extremely thin on the ground here and I've just banished him to his bedroom for kicking the cat - strangely enough just what I feel like doing but know better!!!

I think to be honest, I'm as worried as you about not feeling pregnant but I think now we have other kids we don't have the luxury of worrying about the symptoms like we did first time round and it is easy to put them down to other things. We'll both be reassured when we see a scan of our new little ones.

Diddle did you sleep on your right side last night? This may have caused the stitch as you are suposed to try to avoid lying on your right side if at all possible, sorry can't remember why, the others will be able to tell you but I know it's a bind for me as it's the side I normally sleep on.

Watched some of the programme about the woman with 11 kids and the only thought it inspired in me was - why would you?. then turned over and watched the twins being separated and like you cp3 I blubbed through most of it.

Better go as ds has just come out an apologised to me and the cat, so better go and read some stories with him.

Take care all.

Twiga · 22/03/2005 12:56

Hi Tex, just nipping in to say I'm really glad everything was well at your scan - great news . Hope the sickness isn't too bad but glad to see you've got plenty symptoms!!!

busyalexsmummy · 22/03/2005 13:33

Diddle · 22/03/2005 13:40

brilliant busyalexmummy, glad its all positive news. wish my scan was so soon. i can't wait

HellKat · 22/03/2005 17:21

Congrats on the scan Tex! Fab news.
Busy- I had very bad SPD too last pg! Hopefully should be being in soon with a physio. What about you? Did you get to see one last time? Mine started from around 5 months but read that with every pg you have it can crop up earlier and earlier.
Have a good evening girls.

busyalexsmummy · 22/03/2005 19:19

Didnt get to see physio as m/w said that by the time i hit top of waiting list i would of had him, consultant was crap too, kept trying to get him to induce me cos of the pain but he wouldnt and ended up 16 days overdue :-(

busyalexsmummy · 22/03/2005 19:21

Ps just had to share my news, ds (13months old today) just walked across the room, i was so shocked i nearly fell over!! (nothings safe now as he also learnt how to climd onto the sofa today!!)

twinkle1 · 22/03/2005 19:25

I have just bought a new fetal doppler since i stopped working as a student midwife i had to give my old one back so i thought i would treat myself. Im looking forwrd to listening in and letting my 83yr old nan here the heart beat, she has never heard a fetal heart beat before!!!

BEKsmum · 22/03/2005 19:35

Great news BusyAlex, how fantastic, enjoy chasing him round the house! Hope you've got the video recorder to hand

twinkle1 · 22/03/2005 19:39

hi beksmum how is the cough????

BEKsmum · 22/03/2005 21:28

Hi twinkle, thanks for asking, still driving me crazy, but my throat isn't as sore thankfully.

Another test for you, any suggestions for morning sickness late in the evening and in the middle of the night? Won't be on here long as I know I've gonna need to rush to the bathroom in a minute.

Hope you've had a good day, off to talk to god on the big white telephone, see you all tomorrow.

busyalexsmummy · 22/03/2005 21:40

vit b6 on its own, take as directed on the bottle for pregnancy sickness, i'll try find a link to show you studies that found it worked to beat sickness

yingers74 · 22/03/2005 23:08

Hello all,

sympathise with all those having morning sickness, have been feeling awful on and off all week, although things are not nearly as bad as when i had dd, with her ended up in hospital with a drip and could not eat properly pretty much throughtout the 9 months! Fingers crossed this time it will level off after 3 months!

I have not got a booking appointment yet but hoping for something soon.

HellKat · 23/03/2005 05:34

Congrats Busy! That's fab news.
I'm dreading it when ds starts. He's bad enough with cruising and climbing!
Still feel great here apart from having a bad headache, does'nt feel like a pg headache, more like the one's you get before a cold (hope not).
Hope the ms eases up for you all today.
Take care.

HellKat · 23/03/2005 06:12

Forgot to mention. Watched an amazing film last night and would thoroughly recomend everyone to see it. That new one that came out yesterday to rent. "The Forgotten". Wow! A really good emotional thriller. It freaked out dp and I (not to mention made us jump and only rated 12!). Can't say alot about it but it's about a woman who thinks she's going mad after being told her son never existed. Very, very good.

busyalexsmummy · 23/03/2005 07:44

cor, you were up early this morning hellcat! alex had me up at 6.30 but i nipped him back to bed for anougher 1/2hr! lol
sounds like a good film :-)
i had head pains yesterday, not a headache, just felt like someone was stabbing me in the head every so often!?!

question-when is everyone going to tell everyone their news? we are going to wait until I start showing

Diddle · 23/03/2005 08:13

We are waiting as long as we can, at least until 8 weeks was what we agreed originally, but thats next week and ist quite nice keeping it to ourselves. So we might try and make it to 12 weeks before we tell most people, although i will need a day off for my scan and i'm a childminder so i need to give the parents of the children i look after 4 wks notice of a day off so they may have to know soon.
My mom says i look like i'm showing already. so i'm surprised nobody has guessed, i've tried to not stand side ways to anyone though. so i just look normal from the front.

twinkle1 · 23/03/2005 08:18

morning everyone, busy we have had to tell quite a few people as i have a booking app 1 april and need someone to look after the kids while i go!!!. I also didnt want people thinking i was dying cos i keep running off to throw up. Beksmum have you tried wearing sea sickness bands on your wrists mant people swear by them. I would err on the side of caution when taking vit's not saying anyone is wrong(Hope i dont upset anyone) but royal college of midiwves recommends only thing to be taking like that is folic acid.but its entirely up to you

busyalexsmummy · 23/03/2005 08:30

It was my midwife that recommended taking vit B6 along with taking folic acid as normal. look it up on google

Enthusia · 23/03/2005 08:43

Hi everyone

feeling a tiny bit better today - have been to the docs who had to give me something for the sickness as I couldn't keep anything down and was starting to dehydrate.

Tried to go to school today as parents' evening tonight but after bursting into tears as I entered the classroom and then turning a very attractive shade of green (apparently), I have been sent home again. Most staff think it is the bug that is going around but a few know the truth, although I am thinking I may have a bit of a bug- feeling very hot etc.

Hope the rest of you are ok and not suffering too much.

Need to go to the bathroom again

bye

Diddle · 23/03/2005 09:31

Hi Enthusia, sorry to hear you're not much better, maybe when what the doctor gave you starts to kick in you will feel better. I wish i was feeling rough, i'm getting a little nervous as i'm feeling quite well today. Worrying that the baby has gone like the first time. Think i'm paranoid but i can't get it out of my head, this pregnancy lark is no fun at all at the moment.

twinkle1 · 23/03/2005 09:48

sorry to hear you are feeling so unwell still enthusia hope whatever the dr gave you kicks in and you begin to feel better. Put your feet up and take it easy

BEKsmum · 23/03/2005 10:00

Morning all, thanks for the advice, I think I'll try to get some of the bands today as I'm already taking pregnacare so don't want to over do it on the vitamins side of things, and I can wear them in bed so it should stop the sickness waking me up!

It is a bit of a bonus that I'm being so sick at night though as it means ds doesn't see it and so therefore isn't worried by it.

It's strange how unsettling this first twelve weeks is this time around, first time I was so happy nothing could worry me, everything was going to be fine etc, this time I'm a bag of nerves and constantly worried that something is going to happen to the baby. I'm not sure if it's because my mum lost her 2nd baby or whether it's because one of my closest friends from our postnatal group has just lost hers, I just can't seem to be so positive this time around.

Feeling better this morning, busy day for me today as we're going to a 4 year olds party this afternoon, then I've got to sort out the eggs for a hunt on Friday, 10 kids, two gardens, we must be mad!

Got to be honest the world and his wife knows I'm pregnant I couldn't keep a secret if my life depended on it, my dh despairs of me as he wanted to keep it quiet for a while ha ha. Have told ds now as well as he was getting all upset all the time as he couldn't understand why he was being excluded from conversations - he seems happy about the idea at the moment as I've told him it's tiny and every day at some point he asks if that baby has got bigger & bigger yet!

twinkle1 · 23/03/2005 10:06

know what you mean beksmum,my 4 yr old DD keeps lifting up my top patting my tummy and saying "dont worry baby you will be out for christmas"

BEKsmum · 23/03/2005 10:10

Ahh, Twinkle how sweetis that, little does she know it means she'll be sharing everthing from then on, including pressies from Father Christmas.

I'm quite glad that Christmas won't be that far off after the birth as it will take ds's mind off the subject of having a sibling as I think he will be quite jealous as he already throws a wobbly whenever I hold my friends babies, we suddenly develop tummy ache etc!!!

The suns shining here, hope it is where you all are, have a great day.
