Hi Enthusia,
really sorry that you're feeling so bad, but i'm sure you're pleased you're feeling so Pregnant.
I will investigate the going up 3 cups sizes issue, see if anyone else anywhere has suffered from it. I've gone up 1, but can't imagine 3.
The sickness i'm afraid is normal.

cads · 21/03/2005 14:13

Hi Enthusia

Sorry you feel so terrible. I went a 2 cup sizes in the 1 trimester with ds. The sickness and tiredness will go eventually and you will most probably feel great in the next trimester. I know last time I craved ginger alot which i think definitely helped me not to feel sick. My mom brought me a juice machine last time so i drunk alot of fruit juices with ginger in them. Jucies and smoothies are a good way of getting nutrition if you can't face food. My favourite was carrot, apple, berries, celery and ginger, drank lots throught my entire pregnancy. Have loads of ginger in the fridge now, just incase. Have also seen other mom's mention ginger helped with their sickness too, ginger biscuts etc.

Diddle · 21/03/2005 16:14

Yes, i;m eating lots of ginger nuts at the moment, seems to help with the nauseous feeling. But if you don't like the biscuits you could try ginger cake

HellKat · 21/03/2005 16:27

Poor you Enthusia.
God I feel really bad now not getting sickness but believe me, I do count myself as lucky (especially with looking after ds2).
Another good tip if you can handle it (mw's wondered fi that's why I never got it) is to constantly (every hour or so) graze. Eat tiny snacks between meals (fruit, rice cakes, anything) then light meals. Seems to work. I only ever seem to get the odd bout of nausea which goes quickly.
Hope you feel better soon.
Oh regarding boob sizes. Last pg I went from 34c-36d (not a massive jump I know but felt it! ) Mind you did end up (when milk came in) a gigantic 38d!.

twinkle1 · 21/03/2005 17:01

hi enthusia sorry you are feeling so ill.Have you tried sea bands (the things that go round your wrists and press on pressure points)boots sell them and they seem to work for lots of people. The good thing is you dont have to eat anyhting or take tablets, it may be worth giving them a try.I am feeling so hormonal at the min, had big fight with DH yesterday then all i could do was cry for the rest of the day feel a bit better today though,DH worried that im turning into psychotic mummy though
well hope you are all well twinkle1

busyalexsmummy · 21/03/2005 19:00

in connection with morning sickness have you tried vits? just take folic acid as normal and get vit B6 and take that as directed, its a less well known cure, i used it with many of my friends who've had bad m/s and they found it worked wonders

BEKsmum · 21/03/2005 19:00

Hi all, sorry to here your feeling so poorly Enthusia, no suggestions from me I'm afraid the others have given you all the best advice Hope the sickness starts to ease off soon, are you sure it's pregnancy related? it's just that there is a nasty virus going around at the moment involving lots of being sick, virtually all my friends have had it in one form or another in the last week or so.

Congrats Hellkat, how wonderful to see your little one on the scan, I bet you can't stop looking at the pictures.

Has anyone got any suggestions for a sore throat that feels like you're swallowing glass and a way to stop a really irritating cough as I'm going completely nuts, it kept me awake until 3:30am last night and I really couldn't take another night of this

I was reading all the threads about about how you are all feeling and it really is strange how each pregnancy is different. I don't feel particularly pregnant this time, my boobs don't really hurt, and I only get the odd wave of sickness & retching, mainly caused by this bl**dy cough and I don't feel overly tired even though I haven't had a proper night sleep since I found out. Although being the mum of a three year old I think tired just comes with the job so I wouldn't notice any difference any more

Like you cp3 I did another test the other day as I felt so ok, but as my dr said when I went in to tell him I was pregnant "are you feeling ok", when I said yes he said "make the most of it, it won't last" so probably by this time next week we'll feel as rough as anything, especially when we all do far too much over the easter weekend.

Has anyone got any plans? I've got my dh's family staying from Friday to Tuesday and they want to go to Madame Tussaurds & Legoland - so just a quiet one for me - not!!!

busyalexsmummy · 21/03/2005 19:03

pmsl concerning boobies, after my milk came in i ended up a wopping 38G (i was 36e before getting pregnant mind you!) they feel like they've swollen some more now, i keep getting double boob syndrome-where you turn sideways and it loks like you got 2 sets of boobs cos theyre hanging over your bra!! oh dear!

twinkle1 · 21/03/2005 19:05

hi beksmum for a cough i would suggest chocolate as i was reading some research paper that said it contained a substance that is better than pholcodeine (In lots of cough mixtures) for suppressing coughs !!!!probably tastes much nicer as well. Hope this helps twinkle1

busyalexsmummy · 21/03/2005 19:09

The hospital rang just now and said the results were as expected from the bloods, so they will ring again tommorrow and confirm wether or not the levels have raised from todays bloods, they hope theyve gone from about 600 to 1000 or over, so just have to wait and see.....

BEKsmum · 21/03/2005 19:25

Twinkle you are my hero, what a great suggestion, will take myself off to bed in a minute with one of ds's many easter eggs!!!

Busyalexmum pmsl, I'm with you there I started out as a 38D and went up to a 40G last time around, my boobs used to come round corners before me. Hope the blood test come back as you want them, sorry, forgive me I'm a bit lost is this to see if you are having more than one baby?

twinkle1 · 21/03/2005 19:34

beksmum glad to help !!hope it works if not the chocolate will taste good you could also try wet towels on radiators to moisten the air. Take it easy twinkle1

BEKsmum · 21/03/2005 19:39

Another good idea, thanks twinkle, will try both of these now as off to bed. Hope you all have a goodnights sleep and another great day tomorrow.

cp3 · 21/03/2005 22:09

Beks mum we sound very similar. I start retching with this stupid cough and then dont know wether to put it down to being pregnant or not. As for the tiredness, its getting overwhelming but then again when isnt it with a 2 year old demon and a one year old beast to look after whilst fitting in 32 hours a week work from home. Moan Moan Moan . Just watched the lady on tv with 11 kids, wow and i thought i had it tough with 3.

HellKat · 22/03/2005 06:12

I feel really small boobed now! (only joking).
No plans here for the easter weekend. Just a quiet one. I think Dp's mum's coming down so we shall give her the great news.
I heard about that too (choc working for coughs and sore throats) wonderful or what? Also honey and lemon work well but taste foul in comparison.
Take care all.

Diddle · 22/03/2005 08:03

woke up this morning feeling really big and with stitch in my side, its really sharp pain and i'm not sureif i should be worried or not. has anyone else suffered from anything similar.

cp3 · 22/03/2005 08:58

Woke up feeling knackered and queasy but fine once up and dressed. Crappy easter weekend for me. Dp is working so ill be all alone

Diddle i had shooting pains last time early on, as long as no bleeding youll be fine. Its all the comotion and ligament stretching going on. Gibe your doc a ring and he will reasure you. I wenton the treadmill last night and got a terrible stitch, so stopped but i would usually run through it

HellKat · 22/03/2005 09:38

I've had stitches too Diddle. As Cp3 said, everything's making room.
Poor you Cp3! Think that's a call for you to munch a huge easter egg

Diddle · 22/03/2005 09:49

oh good, what a relief, glad i'm not the only one. I'm not over worried as the stitch is on my left side higher than my belly button, not in my abdomen luckily, its wearing off now. I'm putting my feet up and watching baby week on discovery health

rodeo1 · 22/03/2005 09:53

Hello all!

dp went off early to work this morn so couldn't help get the children ready, although got to school on time! hurray! feel really tired at the mo, but i can usually get a nap if i need it when ds goes for one. Sickness still not too bad, just suffer a little in the evening.

Have told my sis and one close friend who says she's close to trying for her no3! It's lovely when someone else is expecting too although i'll try not to badger her!

Watched seperating twins last night, so glad dp was out, as kept crying throughout. Then watched catherine tate straight after which i think is v.funny - so went to bed feeling worn out from swinging emotions!

And it's raining!! I left my washing on the line last night as I couldn't be bothered to get it in and it's more wet now than when it went out! Typical!

Feeling a bit scared today, been thinking about my pg with ds, remmebering the spd, the itching, the sickness etc etc, keep thinking how the hell am i going to cope with a young son and spd-last time i had it really bad but luckily not till 32 weeks and onwards, scared that it'll appear earlier, aghhhhh

tex111 · 22/03/2005 11:29

Hi gals, sorry I haven't been around too much but morning sickness has hit me hard. I even find it difficult to look at the computer screen for very long. Had our scan this morning and everything was fine! Perfect size for dates and we saw the tiny little heartbeat. I'm going to ring my parents in Texas later today and tell them. I wanted to wait until the scan and once we felt more optimistic about it all.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I've just managed to scan the top few entries. Hope you're all coping well.

OK, off to eat some more crackers!
