elkiedee · 18/10/2008 19:19

Just looking in as I saw TBM's news on another thread, fingers crossed.

swampster · 18/10/2008 19:35
Sad
swampster · 18/10/2008 19:36

Really hope they can keep that baby in there a bit longer.

nkweto · 18/10/2008 20:06

TBM, hope everyone at the hospital have managed to slow everything down... thinking of you and your family. ..got everything crossed for you.

mumoverseas · 18/10/2008 20:18

love, hugs and prayers for you TMB x

herbgarden · 19/10/2008 09:27

anyone know if there's any more news about Tink? Was just thinking about it when I woke up......

mrsy · 19/10/2008 10:10

morning all - do we know any more about TBM?

mrsy · 19/10/2008 10:21

I've sent her a msg on fb giving her my mobile so she or TBD can update the group quickly. Man - I nearly crapped myself when I saw...

spottyshoes · 19/10/2008 11:55

Any news yet? I hope they are ok What is she at at the moment 25 + ?

mumoverseas · 19/10/2008 12:09

no news yet according to other thread started by her friend who told us all. Think she is only just past 24 weeks, maybe 25. Its horrible isn't it? I know we don't all 'know' each other but it seems like we do. Lets pray that no news is good news?

idontbelieveit · 19/10/2008 13:30

poor TBM. She is 25 weeks now i think as at her last scan she was 24 weeks. Hope they manage to keep baby inside for a bit longer.

chilledmama · 19/10/2008 14:45

makes us all sad
I've got absolutely everything crossed...including DSs fingers!
How is everyone else doing???

mumoverseas · 19/10/2008 15:03

think we are all a bit low because of this and also it is a reminder that just because we are past the 12 week when people start to relax you just don't know what is going to happen. I know we are all thinking of TBM though and willing her to hang in there

chilledmama · 19/10/2008 15:17

I've just ordered a Moby Wrap for when DD arrives...hopefully in about 17 weeks!!!!
I've been eyeing them up for ages and was waiting to see what flavour LO was before picking a colour
I love babywearing...it is ssoooo easy when you have the right wrap/sling for you.

I used a wilkinet with DS, which is a brilliant carrier, but a bit of a pain to get on and off and you get really warm wearing it cause there is so much padding. As soon as DS was big/strong enough I had him on my back in my Beko which he still loves...perfect view of everything!

mslucy · 19/10/2008 15:44

I read a brilliant book called "Call the Midwife" yesterday - has anyone read it?
It's about a woman who worked in the East End in the 50s.
There's an amazing description of a woman who gives birth to a baby at 28 weeks and refuses to let the doctors take him away, preferring to feed him herself whilst wrapped to her breast with a makeshift sling.

The baby survived and was fine.

It made me think of TBM.

PinkTulips · 19/10/2008 16:00

just read that about TBM, hope all is ok. there's still a good chance they might have stopped the labour and lo can cook for a while longer. fingers crossed anyway.

have been having a major playroom tidy here... playroom is lovely now but my back bum and hips are in rag order! dp was a sweetie last night and refused to let me mop the floors [awww]

my dad is here playing with the kids so am getting a break now at least.

pluto · 19/10/2008 17:06

Every time I have had time to stop today TBM has come into my head. I'm sure she's in good hands in Liverpool though and she strikes me as a really positive and strong willed person, so lets hope that this helps see her through what must be a really scary weekend.

On a much more frivolous note: our garden is nearly finished. Planting and lighting going in next week. I'm thinking about having a little Halloween get together for some of DS's friends. Problem is we can't walk on the lawn for about 6 weeks and I don't think a gang of ghoulish 8 year olds are likely to take any notice of that and sit nicely on the patio!

herbgarden · 19/10/2008 17:44

I've been thinking of her today - hopefully we'll hear some good news soon.

On another frivolous note - We've had another admin day today really not that exciting- been to a big plant nursery to see if we can find something to replace the enormous leylandii which are along one of our boundary fences - they block out 90% of the light coming in to our garden at this time of the year - I can't believe the previous owner liked them (maybe couldnt' be bothered to do anything about them) so we're thinking of some softer bamboo plants which aren't as high but at least give a bit of interest in the garden. Excitingly also we went to homebase for some light fittings and then managed a walk to the park (we have a lovely local park) so ds could get some fresh air and a potter round the swings and slides....

Am now sitting here with a cuppa, dh watching the golf and ds wandering around nagging us both to watch teletubbies and me trying to persuade him to play with the mountain of toys he never plays with (do yours do this too ??? he's only 2.3 months)....

MarkStretch · 19/10/2008 18:52

Hello all

Dreamed of prem babies last night and awoke thinking of TBM, hope they are all ok.

Painted the bathroom today, we now have a sparkling bathroom with no mould. It is very hard to paint behind a toilet when you're 6 months gone though...

DH put a blind up in the kitchen. It took 2 hours and I have never heard so much effing and jeffing in my life! I had to tell dd to turn the TV up. He had to keep taking breaks to calm down.

There is another blind to go up in the bathroom, I have a feeling it will be a little while before that one is tackled...

winemakesmummyclever · 19/10/2008 18:59

Just checking to see if there is any news from tbm. Really hope that no news is good news and that little girl is staying put for a good while.

Went into Manchester to buy some new maternity jeans as have only 1 pair left from pg with ds that I can fit into comfortably . Only had 2 pairs anyway, so am trying to convince myself that they shrunk in the wash and I haven't got the thighs of a rugby player. Usually end up in oh so comfy ikea joggers by teatime.

Swampster & mrsy have passed the real nappy bug on to me. Just thought - will you real nappy folk be taking them into hospital or using a sneaky pack of dispos?

herby - my ds would watch bob or noddy 24/7 if he was able to. Though he doesn't really pay that much attention, it is more of a background noise whilst he creates havoc with bricks, dominoes, trucks & cars, and his car. He has a massive train set that he nags me to play with but once I get on the floor I cannot get up easily, so I have to be having a really good day to do that [bad mummy emoticon].

Better go and get everything ready for the morning - early start for uni tomorrow. It really hurts my back to be there 9-6 . Hope the physio gets in touch this week. Am walking more like Mrs Overall ever day!

herbgarden · 19/10/2008 19:40

MS can you come round and finish off my half painted spare room/nursery please. I sploshed paint on there last Saturday (about 3/4 of one wall) and then dh arrived back home with ds and it was game over. Have had neither time nor inspiration to get everything out and start again (even though in my fantasy world I would be doing an hour in the evenings to finish it)....the laminate which I enthusiastically bought for dh to do the dining room floor the other week is sitting unopened in the garage.....we have sooo many jobs to do which in another pre-ds life we'd have done by now - me thinks we need to get him round to Grannies for a weekend soon !

WMMC - ds is a massive Bob/Noddy fan too but he really will sit there like a lemon for a long time, thumb in mouth and his muzzy - glued to it. He is JUST like his father so I tend to just switch on and off for periods of time otherwise he'd be a complete telly addict. If the weather is awful come Feb and I'm not able to drive after my c-section me and ds may be languishing in front of the telly under his cosy toddler duvet with no 2 joining us (hopefully sleeping)....ds will then never be able to remotely entertain himself again without tv assistance !!....

Cheers,

Erm.... TMI alert from me AGAIN.

I was re-telling the blind-putting-up story to my mum and laughed my head off and some wee came out...

This has never happened to me before. Pelvic floor was ok as had CS previously. Has this baby ruined my pelvic floor already?

Must do exercises...

herbgarden · 19/10/2008 19:55

MS if any consolation, I had cs before and didn't notice a massive difference in pelvic floor.....til this pregnancy and coughing/laughing etc etc is enough for a bit to escape. I am hoping it's the way the baby is sitting but fear I'm for serious physio post no 2 (apparently if you live if France it's the norm for ladies to get post natal pelvic floor physio....)
