LadyBuzz I have a nappy wrapper (can't wait to use it) so I'd love another cartridge, although it did come with some.

Rosa · 11/10/2008 18:38

Sorry about your dd lacks hope that it was a one off and that your house will be vomitless. I am going into 37 now and need to hang on a couple more weeks until help arrives for dd whilst I am in hosp- they keep you in for 3 days here as we have no mw follow up care so we get a bit more in hosp.
Misdee sympathy re BH at night I get a couple and also can't get get comfortable . Also am in same situatioon re packing the bag- we get a list here of things we have to take and I just can't get my act together.
Have a good evening everybody.

vbab78 · 11/10/2008 19:10

lacks - sorry to hear about your eve. Hope you and DD have recovered.

monkey - Names link ... Wyatt is 849 in the list, is that good or bad? Alyssa is 331 in the list.

sparkletoes - sorry to hear about your 'dreami' cot.

vbab78 · 11/10/2008 19:21

Update ... had horrible night's sleep turning a lot. But on top of that at about 4am I woke up with pains in my left side (near where baby's foot (?) is all the time) and felt so sick. I managed to somehow get to the loo but as soon as i sad down went boiling hot, cold sweats and felt even more sick. Sorry if TMI but wasnt sure what end something might come out. Was so worried was going to end up passed out on the tiles in the bathroom and DH not even know I was there. Anyway nothing was released so to speak and I just managed to get back to bed. I fell asleep feeling really ill, hot and sweaty but nothing since . Not sure what it was but it was really intense and worrying.

Not sure if maybe the chinese I had, along with baby maybe being resting on my stomach had come back to haunt me? Normally me and DH split a chinese and that is enough for me but I had nearly all of it as I was enjoying it so much and felt so hungry.

House stuff - Just waiting for the decorator to finish the living room now but impressed with what I have seen so far. Just a couple of strips he hasnt aligned completely to the pattern but that is me who is a control freak and unless I mention it to people who visit I doubt they would notice (except my dad who is like me and a perfectionist).

Ordered carpet today and found curtains, lights and bits I like. So hopefully by the end of next week the living room will be at least ready to be moved back into. Then I can finally do my nesting bit and clean the house from top to bottom. About time as I will be nearly 38wks by then!

DS at my mum's tonight and me and DH hopefully are going out with friends about 8 for a pub meal and chill. Assuming the decorator finishes soon. He sad he wont be long now.

vbab78 · 11/10/2008 19:25

Please use imagination to correct my spelling in my above post. DUH!

forgot - when I got up this morning wasnt sure if my bump had "dropped"? Just it felt different.

LackaDAISYcal · 11/10/2008 19:57

vbab...sympathies to you as well. We had chinese for tea last night too; maybe that's what triggered it off for DD? I have been so tired and sore all day today and have had a huge emotional wobbly and moment regarding the state of the house. DH wants to go fishing tomorrow and I'll be stuck in the bloody house on my own again. and i want to get things sorted, and can't because I just physacally can't do stuff. He has been promising me he willmop the kitchen floor for over a months now and it still hasn't been done. LOL at your perfectionism with the decorating. My Dad used to always manage to put a strip of wallpaper on upside down every time he decorated...not intentionally; and it was always not noticed until it was too late to do anything about it. It bacame a family game to spot it over the years

Anyway I spent the afternoon soriting out clothes and baby stuff and making up the crib (with Pinky's blanket ) in tears as my back and hips are so sore from all the bending up and down. I sat down for a breather at teatime and woke up an hour and a half later. Now, I just want to cry my eyes out and I have a pretty crampy stomach. I'm hoping it isn't whatever made DD sick last night. We have both had diahorrea in the week, but usually the sickness comes first.

sounds horrible for you misdee last night; I take it you're in the "want it out now" camp then?

OP posts:
sparkletoes · 11/10/2008 19:59

That doesn't sound good Vbab are you feeling ok now?

Oh and hi to Rosa!

AND congrats to Zonedout! How exciting a baby already on the thread!

sparkletoes · 11/10/2008 20:05

Ouch Lacka, can sympathise on the sore hips front, all this side sleeping is killing mine. And remember how I didn't have BH? Well I don't know if it is the raspberry leaf tea or not but boy am I getting them now!

Often have to stop and hang on to a chair for a bit, trying not to cry out loud as it scares DS!

Sounds like a few of the group had a bad night last night, big hugs all round.>

LackaDAISYcal · 11/10/2008 20:08

I'm getting to the point where I'm dreading going to bed now as I can't walk when I get up in the morning. I think I might try sleeping on the sofa tonight; see if that helps.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 11/10/2008 20:09

I have been advised against raspberry leaf tea due my previous c-sections. Mind you, mu uterus seems to be in pretty tip top condition without it, lol [smiel]

LadyBuzz · 11/10/2008 20:18

Mummynic no problem tis yours, its a 6 monh plus one so hopefully will come in handy for you. e-mail me on patriciahepple at btinternet dot com and I will send it to you.
Daisy hope you feel better soon and manage to get a good sleep tonight.
I'm finding that the thing that is waking me is my hips being really painful usually the one I am lying on and I have to keep swapping sides for a little bit of relief.

sparkletoes · 11/10/2008 20:32

Me too Lacka & LadyBuzz hips (esp left) feel like they are burning in middle of night it is so sore, had this last time too... Just want to sleep on back but as baby already in OP position have been advised to do all I can to shift it not make it worse!

Yes there certainly seem to be plenty contra-indications to RLT. I am going to see how it goes... As I said it is the apparently 'stretchy fanjo' benefit I want more!!

LackaDAISYcal · 11/10/2008 20:51

I think I missed the RLT chat the other week, but I thought it just toned your uterus to make it more efficient at dilating your cervix and pushing the baby out. I didn't know it could stretch your fanjo as well?

OP posts:
sparkletoes · 11/10/2008 21:52

Haha not sure that it actually does Lacka!! Have 2 friends who swear by this benefit (& had big babies) so am giving it a try! Only time will tell (and even then will not be absolutely sure...)! Have no contra-indications and MW gave go ahead so figured I'd give it a go.

MerryMarigold · 12/10/2008 01:24

Thanks for all sympathies, much appreciated. Lacks, I totally sympathise with you, trying to do stuff and feeling frustrated and rubbish. The sick just sounds yuck, and I'm sure you really could have done without that on top. Trials and tribulations always come along together, like the number 86 bus to Stratford. I now have a REALLY bad cold from not getting enough sleep and also sleeping on top of the duvet as getting too hot under it, and makes itching worse. Thankfully I think itch is a little bit better today, or maybe the cold is just overwhelming it! Ah me...

Still, today we managed to put up changing table and moses basket in our room, so felt a little bit more prepared and empathised with all you who get excited about your nurseries, it does help 'visualise' the baby right there, sleeping there. Hospital bag not packed though.

Rutho, wondering how the decorating went. Dh does not like my Dad's 'careless' decorating, but at least Dad gets it done, and also when dh tries, he invariably does it much the same anyway - neither of them are much good! Let us know all the juicy details!

Lolabella, you and Barbareeba both on mat leave now.

Vbab, what a scary experience. I find sleeping on my left side means I feel like there is less pressure on my stomach.

Well, 1.30am. Going to try and go to sleep again.

Have nice Sundays!

baytree11 · 12/10/2008 08:23

hi am due in less than a month, sorry to hijack, can i ask you MN due in Nov mums what you wouold pack in your hospital pack, i want to be one step again and so i want to start packing now..!

baytree11 · 12/10/2008 08:24

one step ahead i meant

ruthosaurus · 12/10/2008 10:49

Morning ladies,

All sounds a bit yuck - poor you vbab, and everyone else who's having a crap time (literally and figuratively).

Can I join the "sick of it" camp when the bedroom is decorated so I have somewhere to keep the baby?

I have a car seat!!!!!! Now I can take the bairn home from hospital if it comes early! Yay! I still nowhere for it to sleep when it gets home, but at least the hospital won't put it in the baby pound, or whatever it is they do.

More later, parents over...

Oblomov · 12/10/2008 10:50

Just bookmarking. Have very strong smell of vinegar coming from kitchen. Making me gagg. Very odd. Off to investigate.

Hello and good morning!
Likewise hana, I am feeling chirpy today.
I'm in the Obs camp - not quite ready for the baby to come out just yet......
Sorry to hear of those with aching limbs and vomity offspring. (that'll be Lacks then). Your poor DS - and you, getting sprayed in the stuff. Nightmare. I just hope you don't have any of that "seagrass" flooring - that is really tricky to get vomit out of.
MerryM - you really don't whinge and moan nearly enough for a lady carrying a double load. I mean really - i'd be milking the sympathy thing. You are far too uncomplaining. obviously a strong woman!
Vbabs - I'm surprised wyatt was quite as high up as that on the list - not that being in the 700's is high - but it appears higher than e.g. Cosmo or Digby. I still love Alyssa Ann. A great choice. Hoping your one strip of upside down wallpaper isn't going to annoy you forever!!

I've had such a lovely weekend. We went to a London wedding yesterday, such a glorious sunny day. Westminster Registry office followed by an amazing reception at a restaurant on the Southbank. We left at 9pm and went straight to my Gaybour's 50th birthday party - party animals!!
I'm feeling it today though....

MerryMarigold · 12/10/2008 13:27

baytree, if you do a search on 'hospital bag' there is a lot on this thread, we've covered it a few times. Different people take different stuff though. Basically, you will get towel and blankets for baby, should you want to use them. Depending on hopsital, you may get towel for you, but may prefer your own anyway. Anything else you goota take!

Margot and Hana - Wow, you guys are still doing loads, very impressive. Mind you, I look back and remember I was doing loads in my first pg as well! Enjoy! It gets a lot harder when you already have a child. I have been out briefly about 4x this week (ie. to drop ds to playschool). My biggest trip out was the waxing!

Margot, thanks for kind words. Dh is sweet, he calls me a 'super trooper'. I am not usually a whinger, but when I start I find it a bit hard to stop!!!! I am applying a 1% steroid cream, seems to help a little. And also antihistamine. I have done some internet research and think I have something which is fairly common called PUPP (or was it PRUPP) where baby's skin cells 'invade' yours and cause a reaction, not dangerious for me or them but just very itchy! Only thing which worried me was that it starts around 34th week of pg(about right) and goes A FEW WEEKS AFTER DELIVERY! Noooooooooooooo. Anyway, the cold is better today than yesterday so that's great. I am walking around in a huuuuuuge summer dress so it may take a while to get better, although what a gorgeous day it is, I must say!

Heartmum2Jamie · 12/10/2008 14:51

Argh!! As a complete emetaphobe (vomit phobic), the last 2 pages of reading are like a horror novel and now I think I will go back to hiding under my rock! And to think I was worried as ds2 was acting very unusual and was quite off colour yesterday, but seems ok today. Oh well, at least when I worry or stress, I tend to need to go #2, so feel much more cleared out now, lol!

I am firmly in the I feel ok with going full termm camp, but I would be quite happy if baby decided to arrive anytime from now as I now he is classed full term and the midwives are on a call rota for my homebirth.

I can't believe how beautiful it is today. I have been clearing the garden and preparing all the raised veg beds for winter. Best go peg some washing now and then muck out the rabbits. Casserole for dinner is already cooking slowly in the oven, so can take my time!

Betti · 12/10/2008 15:36

Heartmum2Jamie - your post sounds like something from the 'Good life'. It made me smile reading it. Also with you in the 'quite happy to go full term' group. This preganancy has passed by far too quickly. i will miss this little lump squirming around.

Just back from the beach with the DCs. What a gorgeous day. Makes you feel energised and like you can achieve anything. Off to make casserole too now - you've inspired me

ceebee74 · 12/10/2008 16:10

Afternoon ladies - have just finished watching Strictly from last night

Went to a Body Shop party last night and spent far too much but hopefully have got some Christmas pressies sorted. Been swimming this morning and managed 50 lengths - although I was knackered afterwards and had a long nap after lunch

sparkle/Ladybuzz I am SO with you on the hurting hips - mine are exactly how you describe them in bed and have been for weeks now. I lie on one side and then wake up in agony so turn over, go back to sleep, wake up in agony and turn over and so on all night. They are also stiff in the mornings but fortunately it wears off during the day.

Baby has been quite quiet yesterday and today - should I be worried? It is hard to tell when he has quiet days as he moves so little anyway which is probably why I am trying not to worry about it.

Am sure you are all out enjoying the sunshine - I now have 3 days of ironing to do as DH is going away tomorrow for 3 days and then we are having toad-in-the-hole for tea - yum!
