Morning,

Been following but brain seems to have disappeared!!

Hello to reluctantincubator and imum.

Did you make something with your Chard Saurus?

Obs hope that your appointment goes well today and you can chose babies birthday.

Sorry about cat Pinky. x

I wonder how Misdee's move went and also has anyone heard from Missygoo (TF) as it was her that had had some bleeding last week wasn't it?

Toolly sorry to hear about having to defer your exam, I hope the doctoe is helpful on weds.

Ladybuzz, I am sure my baby is not head down yet either as movement seems to all across my tummy. When I saw M/W on fri she had a real good poke about and concluded that there were limbs everywhere Ok but where is the head!

Apologies to anyone I have missed. X

MerryMarigold · 07/10/2008 09:43

top o'the mornin' to ya all!

had another hideous night but at least sun night was ok. i have a rash, took piriton cos pharmacist said it was ok when i had allergic reaction in early pg. then read the leaflet (after!) and said to consult doctor if pg. anyone taken it?

Pinkali37 · 07/10/2008 09:47

Merry i was told that Piriton was the one you could take when pregnant! MW told me that.

Ladybuzz I'm back on with the scrabble!! However, you really don't seem to have pregnant brain.. is it just me?????

Morning everyone, i had an awful nights sleep again. Tossing and turning, getting up for a wee and again and again...

coolkat · 07/10/2008 09:57

Pinkali did you find your safe keys?

Pinkali37 · 07/10/2008 10:08

Oh no... safe keys are obviously somewhere VERY safe! I was on the telephone with the bank this morning asking for some new office and client account cheque books and they wouldn't believe me that the other ones were SAFE. I nearly shouted "but they're locked in a bloody safe you stupid woman"... I had to take a few minutes to calm down. HOW STUPID ARE PEOPLE?

coolkat · 07/10/2008 10:11

Ew hope DH has forgiven you! They will turn up when you least expect it.

suiledonn · 07/10/2008 10:17

Hi everyone, everyone is so chatty the last few days, probably because we have no energy to do anything else.

Merry I am sure the Piriton is fine. The pharmacists know their stuff.

Welcome to all the newbies and returning members.

I am definitely taking it easy today - it's my birthday so I have a good excuse. DH is working all day and teaching his night class tonight so we won't be doing anything special. We went out for lunch on Sunday instead and it was lovely. DD was really well behaved in the restaurant which made it even better.

I think I made a big mistake telling everyone I think the baby will arrive early. People keep asking me if I have had it yet and I am not due for weeks yet!!!!

Pinkali37 · 07/10/2008 10:19

Choco i'm back on the scrabble... much easier now computers are working better!

MerryMarigold · 07/10/2008 10:19

Thanks pinkali, that's what I thought too. They're probably covering backside with that note on it. Anyway, it has relieved itching. I always get an allergy reaction to colds, esp if goes into sinus - how weird (and annoying) is that?!

Sorry about keys. How do you know they are IN the safe? How did you lock safe with them in there?

I've had a very productive few minutes. Organised my full leg and bikini wax for Friday morning. Eek, it's gonna be painful. Also, arranged for chimney sweep to come on Thursday, so maybe we can have a fire (sadly only with smokeless coal) this Winter and save on the heating bill. Would be so nice and cosy...been here 2 years and not got round to sorting it out. Gas prices are motivating me!! AND I sorted out all dh's socks this morning into pairs. If I don't do it, it doesn't get done and he has A LOT of socks which were in total chaos. Phew! Now for some rest!

ceebee74 · 07/10/2008 10:20

Morning all

Ladybuzz sorry your appointment was not very good - tbh, it is the 'not knowing' that is worse isn't it? I suspect I will be in the same situation in a couple of weeks when I go to see the consultant.

My baby seems to have had a major shift overnight Having been head down, body to the left for weeks and weeks - I woke up with a rather strange lopsided bump - when I had a poke around, there was a very hard, big bump (head, bum??) to the right of my belly button when previously there had only been some feet that side.

Also, could I have some advice from you lovely ladies. DH works away (maybe 1 or 2 nights a week) and obviously has a drink or 2 whilst he is in the hotel/with colleagues. He has asked me when I want him to stop drinking in case he needs to get back quickly - am now nearly 33 weeks so what do you think is a reasonable time to stop him drinking?

MerryMarigold · 07/10/2008 10:21

HAPPY BIRTHDAY suiledonn. Btw, what is the 'orgin' behind your name?

MerryMarigold · 07/10/2008 10:25

ceebee, that's nice of him to ask. I have no idea really on advice! You'll have to collect everyone's answers and do an average! When's your next MW appointment and maybe then they tell you whether head is engaged and how far (tho second babies engage later I think)? Also maybe if you start feeling a bit odd one day, you can let him know that day before it gets to the evening. Otherwise I would say if everything is going normally then about 37 weeks would be fine.

suiledonn · 07/10/2008 10:25

It means 'browneyes' in Irish. Took me ages to think of a name but I quite like it now.

MerryMarigold · 07/10/2008 10:26

Oh, also ceebee, meant to say: was your ds early? it does tend to happen the same again unless there is intervention.

MerryMarigold · 07/10/2008 10:27

Oh wow, that's lovely suiledonn - now tell us how to pronounce it!

ceebee74 · 07/10/2008 10:30

Merry thanks for that. DS was a week late and I am hoping to have an elcs at 39 weeks (yet to be agreed!) but I guess I am wary that things could happen earlier than 39 weeks

Suiledonn Happy Birthday (and I agree, lovely name!)

Pinkali37 · 07/10/2008 10:30

Suiledonn Happy Birthday to you!!! Hope you have a lovely day. x

The keys are not locked in the safe. They are somewhere else but I must have put them somewhere thinking that it was safe and now I can't remember! OOPS.... Cheque books and office stuff is stuck in the safe.

suiledonn · 07/10/2008 10:35

I just got the worst shock. DD was sitting on my knee (not easy now my bump is so big) when she feel backwards. I could feel her going, I just couldn't hold on to her. She fell back on to the floor and just avoided hitting the back of her head on the corner of the fireplace. I am still shaking, but she seems ok.

MerryM, I found this on Netdoctor that says piriton is OK at normal doses. the problem with the manufacturers is that they won't/can't carry out widespread testing on pregnant women as it's unethical so can't say the medicine os safe, even though it most probably is.

DH just got his verbal job offer through . We are more than happy with the fiancial side of things, there is a not insignificant pay increase, especially given the current economic client. And we also get a 10% staff discount in the store! Paperwork should be with him in a day or two and then we can see where he'll be and when, and whether he can wagle an early release from his contract around the time the baby will be new!

Feel a bit guilty about things as my BIL lost his job yesterday ...his employer was all over the news last night.

gah, started that an hour ago and lods of posts since then!

Happy Birthday suiledonn; hope you have a lovely day

ceebee, I would say from 37 weeks as that's when you should be good to go and considered full term. What were you like with DS? If you were ealry with him I'd be twitchy, but if he was late, then it wouldn't worry me until 39-40 weeks. Hopefully though, you will have lots of warning signs that things are starting to gear up and can act accordingly.

Just had a squint at my notes from yesterday.....I'm measuring 38 weeks apparently

Ooh Suiledonn, if you weren't pregnant i'd say have a brandy, as you are have a hot chocolate for the sugar! Hope she is ok.

Does anyone elses baby have a lot of hiccups? Tarquin seems to get them most days.

I've taken all sorts whilst pregnant. Some the consultant knew about, some only the doctor and yet every thing seems to be fine. Doc told me the other day that at our stage it would take an awful lot of something bad to do any harm. Manufacturers just protect themselves. I was told I couldn't have anything for a littel patch of athletes foot (bloody gym gave me it) but doc gave me some cream and sadi ti is perfectly safe as the molecules are too big to do any harm (what ever that means, something to do with getting into the blood stream). Oh by the way, and regarding a conversation a week ago, I LOVE FYBOGEL!

LackaDAISYcal · 07/10/2008 11:25

virgil hiccuping lots too PinkAli. What I don't understand is that I drink some diet coke, and then has has hiccups

I think at this stage they are swallowing (and weeing) lots of amniotic fluid which might explain things.

suiledonn I missed the post about your DD, sorry . I hope she is OK. Just keep an eye on her for sickness/dizziness/wanting to sleep and call the doc if you are worried

suiledonn · 07/10/2008 11:30

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

DD seems fine. She is eating an ice cream and watching CBeebies so I don't think she is permanently damaged!

Hiccups When I was expecting dd she used to get the hiccups all the time and after she was born she had them a lot in the first few weeks. I liked it - it made her seem so familiar to be doing the same little things as before she was born.
