Oh ladybuzz that is frustrating. I remember misdee saying how cleaning the floors moved her baby around, not sure if you fancy the sound of that. Are you thinking you might want an elcs?

LackaDAISYcal · 06/10/2008 18:30

have you seen the spinning babies site ladybuzz?

I'll see if I can dig out a link for you. One of the positions they advocate is putting a board from the sofa to the floor (ironing table will do!)and then lying on it with your head at the bottom. Can't see how it would work, maybe confuses the little blighter. although that might be for breech, she says helpfully

DD was breech until around 38 weeks so there is still hope!

Thanks you 2 I will check that site out. I was kind of hoping for an elcs but it seems the consultant is not keen hence the 'Keep an open mind' comment although I didnt see her today only the midwife. I just went in expecting a clear answer today and came out worse then I started.

Pinkyminkee · 06/10/2008 18:49

ladybuzz If you want an elcs, I would ask for one, quite forcefully. You should be entitled to make your own choices.
Have you tried ringign the consultant's secretary to make an appointment?

LadyBuzz · 06/10/2008 18:50

I'm seeing her at the clinic next week she is actually lovely and my SIL is coming with me for moral support. I am prepared to fight my corner on this one!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/10/2008 18:56

If there is a good clinical reason for you to have an ELCS LB then you should have one. I think another appointment with your consultant or discussion with your midwife? she might be able to help. You should ask for advice about the ECV on here; lots of people are against it as a procedure, but I'm not sure why?

Pinkyminkee · 06/10/2008 19:04

LackaDAISYcal · 06/10/2008 19:07

Pinky, love the new blankets on your blog

ruth - my DH has suddenly decided he wants to take up golf! After five and a half years of me being the baddie for having to work long hours and not prioritising him enough at weekends (yadayadayada), now he thinks that (with a baby imminent) its a good time to embark on a new hobby that will take him out of the house for most of the day at the weekend. Humph.

reluctantincubator · 06/10/2008 19:12

PS although his golf buddy happens to work for estee lauder and managed to get me some freebie creme de la mer face cream just at a point where I was tightening my pursestrings and realising that it was going to be superdrug's own label from now on*, so I don't want to get in the way of that friendship too much. Maybe the cream was an out and out bribe and I just didn't realise?

*NB I should point out that my own normal face cream before belt-tightening was not CdlM! (But it was a bit posher than E45)

LackaDAISYcal · 06/10/2008 19:32

hell, even I could stand to be a golf widow for Estee Lauder

the braxton hickses have popped over for another visit this evening. I do wish they would call first

I'm having cheesy chips with salsa for tea tonight (when DH gets the shopping in).......it's my own invention and I call it Scottish Nachos. Should I pop it on the recipe thread?

Hello, I'm back after a long hiatus. I have lurked briefly so hopefully I am up to speed with all your news. I was due to take an exam on Wednesday but am suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and can't write for more than two minutes without my hands aching and then turning numb, so I have had to defer to next April . I have never had this before and it's a total pain, I guess I shouldn't be typing either.

pookamoo · 06/10/2008 19:55

Ooh you're all moving so fast again!
I won't be able to keep up, so I will pop in from time to time with updates.

All on my own tonight in our new house as DH has had to go overseas for work. Am being brave!

Pinkyminkee · 06/10/2008 19:59

Thanks Lacks I am now completely unable to decis which one I want for DD2. I have a couple of fabrics I haven't made up yet.

Like the sound of the scottish nachos!

Oblomov · 06/10/2008 20:05

toolly, my total sympathy. I had carpal tunell a few weeks ago. Mine was diagnosed a couple of years ago. I am so glad I had the steriod injection, 2 weeks ago. Instant relief. My total total sympathy.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/10/2008 20:10

hi toolly . Nice to see you back with us. Sorry about the carpal tunnel . Can you get a wrist support to help with it?

OP posts:
toolly · 06/10/2008 20:19

I'm going to the Doc about it on Wednesday, because I need a medical certificate. When I mentioned it to the midwife she just said it would clear up after baby was born. Not much good when I have to write four essays in three hours. I'm just glad I can defer. Yay for the OU

Pinkyminkee · 06/10/2008 20:23

HI Toolly hope you get some releif from the carpel tunnel- sounds horrid.

LadyBuzz · 06/10/2008 20:26

Toolly hope the doc manages to ease your pain - good luck

barbareebaa · 06/10/2008 20:42

Hiyer

Cor blimers - lots of chatting today!

Hello to Pookamoo reluctantincubator and mildwest!

Lovely pictures chocolategal It's really amazing - had an 'ooeey' moment - there's a real baby in there!!!

pinkee sorry to hear about your cat.

Pinkali Totally understand your worries about your bump getting knocked into. Feel really vulnerable at times.

Choco Sounds like a lovely treat from your dh! I casually mentioned it to mine and he gave me this face and congratulated me on my subtlety!!

ladyB My lo is also not head down. The last check he was breech but I reckon he is now transverse (judging by the shape of my bump when he stretches!!)The mw mentioned that steps would have to be taken if he doesn't move but I am also totally against having him messed about with - I mean they can't see what they're doing can they? It may be naive of me but I'd rather have a CS. Anyway, shall find out on weds.

early birth days clairvoyant (sp) said I would have my first baby (a boy) on the 19th October so half expecting him to show up then! (this was 3ish/ 4ish years ago) we shall see!!

And I fin work fri WOOOOHOOOO!!!! Bit the bullet and asked my boss if I could fin early and she said 'why yes' and said 'how wonderful' so am tres excited and pleased!

Right have finished! Soz for long post

chocolategal · 06/10/2008 21:48

toolly hope you get something from dr on wed to help with the carpal tunnel, i think im hard done by when i wake up at night with pins and needles in my hands!

barbareeba, yep the 3D pics are pretty amazing! he doesnt look like me or my DH tho!!

ladyb sounds frustrating, but sounds like your going in strong at your next appoinment, so hopefully will get things sorted then

pookamoo hope your doing ok on your own

well, off to watch the end of the lap dancing thing that is on ch4, DH seems very interested in it!!!! lol!!

catch up with you all tmw
