Oh if labour were that easy it would be brilliant! BUT this WILL be the thread where you announce your birth, so in a way you have moved closer!
I'm still floundering waaay down at the bottom...although the BH have been quite regular tonight. I can't give birth tomorrow though coz my birth partner (coming along to empower dh!) can't get out of work!!

Well ladies, still here....still having contractions every 5 mins. Temp fine. Got my TENS machine on which is helping.

Too tired to walk up and down stairs - this will be my 3rd night with little or no sleep so have just been on birth ball and sofa taking it easy.

Off to bed for a read with trusty TENS machine attached

Looks like I will be being induced tomorrow after all

I'm back home from my csection with a gorgeous baby boy!! no name yet

yes that's right - 11 lbs 8oz, smaller than my first who was 12 lbs 4oz middle one was the teeny one - only 10 lbs

Congrats Blimey that is a big baby!

Did the deed last night, nothing happening at the mo...

Morning gals.
ahhhh! i can't remember the last time DH left for work while i was still in bed. :::sigh:::
ok, so i kept ds up a lot later than normal last night. ((he woke from a very late nap and daddy was late coming home from work)) so it worked out just fine.

but really, it gave me alot of sleep PLUS managed to get it on with DH this morning. ((been a good 2.5 weeks so i knew it would be shortlived ))

yesterday, the pineapple. last night, the gym ball for hours. this morning, the deed. i dont suspect anything will happen. but i just like to say i "tried" a few of the old myths. ((except the sex, thats not a myth))

Right, any babies on the our agenda today?

leonie i ALWAYS overpack. but i'm trying to make a valid effort to underpack this time. ((and i'm packed for the normal delivery...but i suspect i'll be repacking for c/s)).

Another thread! I better have baby by the time this one runs out or I'm going to scream

4days until d day, have finally washed all the baby clothes and set up crib & moses basket. Feel like I'm at least someway to being organised now.

Having second thoughts about my HB too. Not sure why really but think maybe a rest in hospital would do me good! We have got 2 mad kittens running around, dd who has just turned 14m and ibnto everything and the 2 ds so it's a bit crazy around here put mildly!

Well I suppose I'll see how I feel when I get that first twinge

Have a growth scan booked for tomorrow morning, hopefully give me some idea how big this lo is likely to be although I know they tend not to be very accurate.

Morning - I'm still here, just got back from the school run...

Congrats Blimey a sturdy boy indeed! Probably a good thing that you had a c-section otherwise you would have been sitting down on a rubber ring for a month !!!

I am going to be trying all known methods of kick-starting labour prior to my induction on Weds. At least if they don't work totally my cervix may be just a bit more favourable and I won't need too many doses of Prostin [hopeful emoticon]....

I have some aromatherapy oil for labour with clary sage in it - am told that if I mix it with milk and put it in the bath the oil will get to where it needs to be instead of floating on the top. Worth a try, I s'pose.

Morning Ladies

Just popping in to let you know that gorgeous Matilda Jane was born on Sunday 21st, weighing 8lb 7.5oz.

Wonderful labour (compared to DD1 anyway). Mild contractions during the day starting at 6.30am, still managed to take DD1 to the park and then go out for a nice lunch with DH. Contractions more painful at 4pm, put on TENS machine, regular and 5 min apart by 5.30pm so headed to the hospital. 6 cm dilated on arrival. They offered me a room with a pool, got in the pool with Gas and Air and the lights dimmed by 6ish. DH had great playlist going in the background. Agonizing pain and a lot of swearing from me for 45 mins and Tilly was born in the membrane (apparently called being 'born in the caul' and is considered good luck) at 7.18pm. 3rd stage came out naturally 10 mins later while Tilly was still on my chest. DH cut her cord and we were out of the water soon after. She latched on straight away and hasn't faulted on the feeding front since. I needed one small stitch, but as the midwife said it wasn't really necessary and if I 'was in the field, they would just let me go...!' Super midwives at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh.

As the hospital was very quiet we were offered a private room where Tilly hardly stirred during the night. I was giving my Anti-D by 7.30am, Hearing test and paediatric doctor assessment performed shortly after and we were home by 11am.

Anyway, sorry to bore you all with the details. But great experience so far and wanted to share it with you all.

Considering I was 5 days late and had a sweep before DD1 was born after a 15 hour labour, it was a nice surprise to have Tilly arrive 2 days early and with such ease. I hadn't really considered a pool birth before we got there, but would thoroughly recommend it as it was much easier than DD1 on dry land!
