don't let those pesky stertch marks fool you - I thought I had none - but once dd was oiut there were some sneaky ones that had been hiding under my bump!!!

Saying that I didn't get many - liberal applications of goo on my tum may have helped - this time round I just haven't had the time or energy to even bother!

Loli - very jealous of your flat tummy though!

Corgi - that sounds like a plan - but if you can park and leave yuor carat the further away one and it is easy to get to from your work then that could also be an option?

I went for my "favourite" nursery with dd - and even then I felt it wasn't right in those first few weeks of leaving my precious baby with strangers - I love it now

Flat stomach? What's one of those then? My bump seems to have doubled in size this week, clothes which were fine on Monday were way too tight by Friday! So now I'm desperately looking for maternity clothes before I get any bigger- I've got a couple of pairs of trousers, but I need some tops. But, as I'm sure I've complained about before, maternity clothes are so boring! And the ones that aren't black or white are stupidly expensive. Though we went to see The Mighty Boosh this week and it gave me an excuse to buy a Hitcher t-shirt, on the grounds that it was baggy and would fit over the bump!

I know what you mean Ana about mat clothes being boring. I like a lot of vintage clothes, not all the time, I'm in jeans and boots a lot as well, but see when I'm pregnant, I really just cannot be ARSED! I have been trying to get round to hiding my grey hairs forever!! And I just get sooooo lazy with shaving legs etc etc. But spending 5 months being/feeling sick is no incentive, I guess.

Oh well, there are worse things happen at sea......

Thehedge Yip, got some seriously debilitating stretching pains on times, I got up from the couch and doubled over in pain the other day and sent DH into a panic!

Yayyy, these halloween smileys, my birthday is on halloween so it suits me fine! (Well, apart from the age I'm going to be!!)

lolianja- Enjoy being bumpless while it lasts. I'm about 6"0' and I didn't show with ds1 until between 6 and 7 months. But let me tell you I literally exploded. I woke up one morning gigantic with stretch marks everywhere.

I'm expecting the same thing to happen, MKG. I know some people just have a bump that gradually enlarges, I'm bound to be the person that saunters around smugly stretch mark free and wakes up one morning with a tank-sized bump and more stretch marks than Ronnie Wood has wrinkles.

I am prepared.

And also somewhat envious of all those who have a nice big bump to get bus seats with and chat about with strangers whilst out shopping.

I posted this on the Products board, but thought I'd turn to the specific wisdom of all you March London mums...

I live in Brussels but am in London pretty regularly for work, and will be at the end of this week. I'm staying for the weekend at least in part just to test drive prams (the selection in Brussels is the pits!) -- so I need to know what the best shop options are in Central London. I want to get my hands on as many as possible! So far I'm doing:

Pram Shop in Notting Hill
John Lewis (Oxford Street)
Mothercare (Oxford Street)

Where else can I go? Time and transport options are relatively limited; a good chunk of Saturday is going to be taken up with my boss' hen spa party, so I'm focusing on Central London. But if pram test-driving utopia is a long tube ride away, I'm still game!

I think you'll have most things covered in John lewis and an independent shop Corgi but there's also a big mamas and papas shop in regent street I think if you like any of theirs.

Hi all. It's so long since I've been on here that there are pages and pages to catch up on. Is there a list of everyone where we are writing on once we know if baby is boy or girl? I couldn't find one, so I'll try and find our last list, and add on that I don't know what we're having! I wanted to know sex, DH didn't, so we went for 20 week scan and didn't find out. Then as we walked out of scan, DH said he changed his mind, but then the scan was over and when we asked the ultrasound women she said she couldn't tell us as she had not looked. Can't believe he changed his mind just like that and it was too late! Anyway, baby is healthy and it will be nice to have a suprise when he or she arrives.

Will look for list now.

I almost forgot to say...I did some baby shopping at the weekend! Got cot and cabinet with changing unit (have to go back for wardrobe as it was too big for my car!!) and ordered nappy stacker, rug, curtains etc from next! ust need to clear out babys room now...its full of DPs fishing gear!!

I'm off to Primark in search of some sort of winter coat tent. Bump is starting to feel quite stick-y outy & uncomfortable but it's lovely too. Really looking forward to anomaly scan next monday. We're desperate to know if things are looking OK.

I have been feeling enormous, and after having wandered round the shops on Sunday felt like my tummy has started to weigh a lot more than normal and I sure the bump is permanently dancing on my bladder!

Wheelybug It's a shame that I'm not going guising with DD1 this year or I could have gone as a pumpkin! Just a bit of orange paint and I'd be good to go!

Oh, I am SOOOOO fed up of having this sinus pregnant cold/hayfever thing - every single blooming day! I have massive sneezing fits and I have gone from spending the first 4 months of this year having a cold from DD2, to then getting hayfever in the summer and being unable to take any medication, moving swiftly on to this pregnancy-related blocked nose malarky! Anyway, rant over and I know I shouldn't grumble.

Well done ladies for making the list look better. I'll need to change my age on Friday! Still, off up north to see Seth Lakeman on Friday for my birthday with DH and I can't wait. Especially as he is VERY easy on the eye. Seth Lakeman, not my DH. Don't tell him I said that.....

Hey slickbird i sooooooooooooooooo sympathise with you over the sinus thing i feel so sorry for myself when i cant breath properly mine is at its absolute worse when doing the housework when i feel like screaming

Anyway on a happier note had 20wk scan today, everything looked good then she curled in a ball and refused to have her photo taken! Yes i said 'she' as sonographer pretty sure its a girl!!!! So happy to think i might have my two little princesses to gang up on DH, there is exactly the same age difference with me and my sis and i love her to bits xx

Permission for a little rant please?

I had to go shopping yesterday for some maternity trousers. My normal jeans were still loose around the waist, but where bump is pressing was getting uncomfortable. I'd lost 2 stone before bump arrived, so my clothes were luckily pretty loose!

Has anyone else who wasn't the size of a stick insect previously found it bloody impossible to find maternity clothes???

I needed some size 20 trousers. We went EVERYWHERE, and there are a lot of shops in Nottingham. I tried H & M. What a joke! Even their size 22 wouldn't even go up my calf. I ended up in Next who did have one pair in my size... one single solitary pair, and nothing else at all in that size. The lady in Evans just told me to buy a bigger size than normal. This is useless! The waist would be too big and fall down, and they'd be way too baggy around the legs and bum.

Why oh why oh why is it soooooo hard to get clothes in my size!!!!!!

To top it off, the pain in my right bum cheek hit with avengence as we were walking around. By the time we got home I could hardly walk and my pelvis was agony. It's a little better today thank goodness.

Rant over.... sorry about that folks! I reckon I'm destined to wear a bin liner for the rest of pregnancy.

It's no easier for mini people I assure you. Size six maternity clothes do not exist!! Have found out this week I have to go to a really posh dinner at 7 1/2months pregnant and have not a bloody clue what I'm going to wear... Unless I feel like making something myself that has bizarrely become a serious consideration, despite my total lack of skills.

It's DP and me's anniversary today, and I work in a term so I'm on half term - off to shops to find something pretty to wear for dinner. Erm. Hopefully!!

Ooooh, I saw quite a few size 6 yesterday.

I remember seeing them in Next, and also Dorothy Perkins. I know what you mean though, it all seems aimed at people who are 10-14/16.

We went into John Lewis yesterday and were told they had stopped doing them at the beginning of the year as there was no call for them... did people stop getting pregnant then??? Lol.
