I think it's time for a new thread! The old one was getting huge...

I'm pretty sure that the milk factory has started up I hate wearing a bra to bed. Hate breast pads too.

I told my GP and she told me it was thrush & gave me a prescription for Canestan cream!

The worst bit is that dh has taken to calling it top! Grrr. I'm 29 weeks today, myermay, which I thought was a bit early but apparently not. My tummy feels really tight too and seems to drag downwards. I can tell what position the baby is in now. It's a bit worrying that she's going to get more than twice her current size by the end. I'll be dragging my stomach along the floor I'm sure.

Urgh, have been leaking for weeks now. So glamourous isn't it. Same thing happened last time as well. Just sleep with a t shirt on so I don't have to change the sheets all the time.

I've been leaking a little bit too. Sorry if this is a daft question, but as I'm first timer I'm new to this - what is leaking doesn't look like milk at all, its clear and thin more like water - is this normal? I also have tight feeling across the top of my belly, can't believe the baby still has to double/treble in size -we're going to be huge!

Report
logic · 22/02/2005 15:34

Yes, littleb, it is really watery milk to start with .

Thanks Logic, glad its normal! I'm hoping to avoid breast pads for a while yet, but when I do need them I'd rather use washable ones, can anyone recommend good ones?

changing the subject ever so slightly...is anyones tummy hurting? I mean it feels like its stretching and getting heavier? My 7th month mark isn't till next Friday so I think I am a bit behind everyone else. It feels really tight

Sorry, I don't know littleb, I used disposable pads last time.

I'm getting bad stitch pains down the sides of my stomach, SamCattie. Dh spotted some new stretch marks too the other day

logic · 22/02/2005 19:42

welcome hollya. Yes, I feel like that too. Your due date is the same as mine!

logic are you working?
if so when are you going to stop. i'm really not to sure when to go on maternity leave, if i go to early it means less money and much more boredom just waiting for it to happen, but too late and i worry i'll go into labour at work (what a nightmare that would be).

Report
logic · 22/02/2005 20:52

hollya, I'm not working - this is my second child. Sorry to tell you this but you will probably get even more tired towards the end and want to get a few weeks rest before the baby arrives. On the other hand, I really wouldn't worry about going into labour at work. First labours tend to be slow and you get lots of warning...

Hey ladies, and welcome holly. Re: colostrum - me too, just occasionally. Poss TMI but it's often appeared after I've rubbed moisturiser in - perhaps it's the massaging movements that trigger it?

My only bump pains are when I get up suddenly, or laugh or sneeze violently (!) - sharp pains that I'm guessing is muscle/ligament.

And sleep - mine still isn't great, but not as bad as a month or two ago. I even get the odd night of solid sleep now - yay. Still really struggling to stay on my side though - just doesn't feel comfortable, and I always wake up flat on my back - oops.

Am doing pregnancy yoga - anyone else trying it? Great for relaxing but not sure what else I'm getting out of it. Perhaps the breathing will help in labour...

I don't think that the worry ever stops when you're a mum, hollya. I seem to have spent the whole day stopping ds from doing potentially dangerous and unwise things.

Why is is that you can't sleep on your back? I try sleeping on my left side but keep getting kicked. The only comfortable position is my back. Should I not be doing this then?

Sam, later on, breathing will feel very uncomfortable when you are lying on your back. It is just starting to be for me. I feel like my lungs are getting squashed. I can't remember what the exact medical reason is though. The baby kicks me very painfully if I lie on my side too. I just alternate.

Hi all and hope you are all well. Nice to see a new thread has started (and welcome holly).

Had my GTT yesterday - was not as bad as I thought. Turned out that I was not at risk so there was no need for me to have it. Still, had my routine bloods and my anti-d as well, so there was a reason for me to be at hospital .

Hoorah - am enjoying my week off. DS in nursery, house nice and quiet.....

Hello Holly!

Sam, apparently you can lie on your back, but you should put a small pillow under your right side/buttock just to relieve the pressure a bit.

I'm beginning to feel much better - hopefully the happy drugs are kicking in, and it's nice to know (in a way) that I won't be going back to work until after the baby's here. I've been cleaning all ds' old tiny tiny little white babygros and vests - it feels strange to see them all hanging up drying again. I got the Moses basket out yesterday and tried to imagine any child of mine ever wanting to sleep in it! That's strange - the thought that this one will have a different personality and different likes and dislikes to his big brother!

Those of you with toddlers, have you read "What Shall We Do With The Boo Hoo Baby?"? It has been our favourite for a long time now, and ds knows it off by heart. We were chatting with him this morning, and he was really enjoying play acting what we will do when our baby cries. I know the reality will be slightly different, but at least he'll be prepared for what babies are like.
