Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ajm200 · 08/09/2008 11:59

Just looked back at an old health report from Xmas, 1 year post-baby and found that where my waist had once been measured a shocking 115cm OMG! I started my 1st pregnancy at siize 12/14!

Just measured bump in the same general area and it only measures 98cm at 34 weeks. Gonna get the paperwork to sign up to the local mums walking group as soon as this LO arrives and join WW. They do a programme for BF mums.

Alexa808 · 08/09/2008 12:01

38H, I'm impressed. My B's have gone up to an F and for the first time ever I have real breasts....[covets] and I hope they'll stay...

ajm200 · 08/09/2008 12:10

I think the H had a lot more to do with blubber than baby in my case, judging by my waist measurement a year later.

This time I've gone from a c/d to DD and lost weight everywhere else. Quite happy to stay as I am or smaller but DH might have other ideas

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 08/09/2008 12:11

when should you get measured for BF bras? I don't think mine have grown since initial spurt but don't want to buy any in current size (eeeek 34F) until I know if I'm going to get any bigger!

hedgepig · 08/09/2008 12:11

morning 1st day of maternity lave today, DH took DS to school and I didn't get up until 9:30 bliss. I have to go to the supermarket cos we have no food but at least I don't have to do it in a rush on the way home from work.

Anyone want a laugh??? I had an absolute panic yesterday I found a little bit of blood in my pants yesterday afternoon. I thought OMG it is a show I have nothing ready ekkk. Ordered DH up the loft to get baby clothes and generally started running (I use the term running loosely of course ) around like a headless chicken. 2hrs later (sorry if TMI) I found a little spot in my lady regions that had been bleeding, I was so relived it wasn't a show at all.

hedgepig · 08/09/2008 12:17

girlwiththemouseyhair the lady in bravissiomo said to get measured as late as possible, so I'm hoping to wait till 38 weeks, although I don't know if they will be able to fit me as I am a J normally before the milk comes in. I think they have feeding bras up to a L so I hope I don't get bigger that. Last time I just kept getting different bras of the internet but nothing really fitted properly.

ajm200 · 08/09/2008 12:18

I got measured last time at 36 weeks as advised at antenatal class but found that I needed to be measured again a couple of weeks after baby arrived as my hormones calmed down and my bust shrank a bit.

loulou33 · 08/09/2008 12:20

HIU all,

off to see the consultant this pm - will let you know how it goes. Barely slept last night as have had terrible cramps and baby head-butting muy fanjo all night - am knackered. Tkaing ds for extra session at nursery as have no child care - grrrr. Mother arriving tomorrow which is a relief but dh and her clash so could be more stressful than its worth!!

Star - i meant jaundice and anaemia in baby as i have blood condition which means i have antibodies that are attacking the baby's red blood cells (nice). therefore this will make the baby anaemic. jaundice is just old blood cells breaking down in the skin and can be a result of foetal anaemia or other non-dangerous things - there's nothing you can do to prevent it and only a few babies need treatment but it is easy to treat if needed. I don't think there's any connection between mum's anaemia and baby's jaundice as far as i know. But if baby is jaundiced, its important to bf as much as poss to flush out system. Mws and drs used to recommend not bf for some reason but now i am armed with the correct info from la leche to bf as much as poss.

Bethoo and GWMBH - try cranberry juice tablets rather than the juice itself - much stronger and more effective. You need to drink gallons of the juice to get a decent amount of what you need from it and it tastes vile after a while (except with vodka in ). Think you can get them almost anywhere, i got mine from tesco lsat time..

right off to see doc, keep fingers crossed....

Def get measured for BF bras as late as possible - I went to John Lewis at 37 weeks last time and was told it was bit too early . However they can make allowance for how much bigger they think you'll get when the milk arrives.

My work clothes are getting quite tight now, am looking forward to starting ML so I can lounge around in trackie bottoms all day. Still over 4 weeks to go at work though - am very jealous that loads of you will have your babies by then.

Bought some newborn nappies and one little pink sleepsuit yesterday, which I am unduly excited about. Apart from that one token pink gesture, she'll have to make do with all her brother's hand me downs.

ajm200 · 08/09/2008 15:10

Good luck LouLou, hope you get your induction and it works quickly for you so that you can have the birth that you want.

tedmundo · 08/09/2008 15:11

CSWS - I am not grumpy today!! Sorry if I scared you! hehe.

The hospital mw got me to express when ds asleep to stimulate production. A few books say to try the same but I didn't notice any improvement, sadly. I bought one to use at home but it has now been sold on ebay as I REFUSE to ever use one again! Grim.

I will stay optimistic and hope I am overflowing with mummy milk once the baby is born! This pregnancy has been so different to the first one - anything is possible.

Had a bit of an emotional morning phoning local pre schools to arrange visits to see them. DS will go next Sept. I am a SAHM so he has never spent a day in childcare (NOTE - I have nothing against childcare! I often torture myself with the question that perhaps he would actually eat something at nursey when he sees other kids eating and I could be back at work being an adult as well as a "mummy".) It will be completely bonkers not having him around. Still, I have a year to get used to the idea, hey?

Trying to decide if I can be ar*ed to go to the playground this afternoon or just stick around here.... hmm - I wonder which one will win...?

lionbeastwithalionheart · 08/09/2008 15:50

hi myjob, how are you? what you been upto lately?
how is that baby bump of yours doing?
i took a break from mn for a while as had a bit of family crap going on, not me dd or dh just my parents well my mum to be more precise, well i don't want to go on about that on here but you know what she's like!.
although i haven't been on here for ages i have been thinking about you.
love lionbeast xxx

jenwa · 08/09/2008 16:24

Wherestheaupair thanks for link, fab. Will put on my list of my pressies when baby is born, if anyone will want to buy it for me!! Will be showing DH!!!

jenwa · 08/09/2008 16:25

Not that I am expecting presents

ajm200 · 08/09/2008 17:23

Good news for those of you facing inductions.

My MW friend has just tried to persuade me to book an early induction as I've been so poorly all summer. I don't want one especially after the last one did nothing for 5 days.

She assured me that they are very effective for 2nd time mums. Almost all go into labour within hours of the first attempt

loulou33 · 08/09/2008 17:35

woo hoo - good news here. The consultant had a rummage (his word not mine, not very scientific but very accurately described). he said cervix is softened and open a bit so am in early stages of labour .

I did wonder last night when got all those niggles which i am still having now. i said he would have an extra rummage to try and get things going (thanks for that - owwwww) so may go into labour proper soon.

Induction booked for weds at 8.30am and as cervix open will only have drip rather than pessary. He was very suprised i think but i have been taking evening primrose oil and doing visualisation and acupressure since thurs so obviously worked....c-section still booked for thurs if induction failed but i am hopeful for vbac - thanks ajm for words of encouragement - bring it on!!!!

Took blood today to order blood for baby in case needs a transfusion. They will courier it to hosp on Weds am so that it is 'fresh' - all very ER...

my job - apparently they can tell if the antibodies are artificial (ie from anti-d) or natural as in my case. science is amazing!!! there is also a cut-off for when anti-body production might interfere with baby so i guess they have determined that yours is ok - i'm sure they'll check it again if they have ANY worries.

sambrads · 08/09/2008 17:45

oh louloui am so excited for you

are you scared???

someone mentioned booking themselves in for an early induction how is this possible???

i would love to go in early but dont think that will be my luck i think this baby will defo come on my sons birthday

rosebury · 08/09/2008 17:47

Evening ladies all is well here bump massive I am starting to feellike I need to stay at home now and plod around the place slowly, I am sleeping ok as long as I have an orgasm first it eases all the muscle aches and pains.

Mw visiting tomorrow morning and bringing my home delivery pack,it means that time is getting near. My neighbour who is due the same day as me went into hospital on Saturday as her waters had broken they have kept her in but no baby yet.

good luck loulou will you be the first, have we heard from accessorize she is having twins.

ajm200 · 08/09/2008 17:53

My friend (a mw) suggested it to me as I've been really sick all summer. Had serious acid reflux and burnt my airways so that I've spent the whole summer coughing until I vomit (sorry if TMI). Lost all the weight I should have gained in pregnancy and can't keep much food down. Every time I gain a bit of weight, a week later I've lost even more. Now have the added fun of SPD... I'd love a simple 40 wk pregnancy with no complications at least once!

She believes that the consultant would give me an early induction at 37 weeks for health reasons if I pushed for it but I really don't want one.

sambrads · 08/09/2008 18:06

oh ajm god love ya thats awful bet you cant wait to get the baby out to get some comfort being sick is awful i thought a week was bad enough .

im going to docs tomorrow to see if there is any chnage in the bits area as i swear i think my waters are coming away !!

star6 · 08/09/2008 18:14

I'm kind of counting on the next 5 weeks... I want to hold my precious first born baby in my arms, of course... but I have so much I want to get settled and sorted with my kids at school and other home stuff, too...
while I want him OUT, I also want him to hang on for a while... is that awful?

Lozza70 · 08/09/2008 18:37

Good luck this week loulou looks like you will definately be the first!

csws and Aubergenie I spoke to the MW today and I'm seeing her tomorrow at 5pm to check out the itchy feet and hands. Speaking to my mum she had a problem with her liver when she was preg with my sister, many moons ago, so it may be similar. Hope not obviously but better to know than not.

On count down to ML only 7 more days in the office but 2 days where I have to drive from London to Coventry and back this week. Pray for a clear M1 on Wed and Thur for me please

myjob - your sept sounds a lot like my oct! bday 3rd, wedding anniversary 23rd and baby... 12th or who knows when? I hear you on wanting to keep him in longer for a higher birth weight... though everyone else I say that to in RL thinks I'm crazy for it!!
