Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

hi haven't posted on here for ages- Ooo a whole new thread will this be the last I wonder?! Have a whole day in today as waiting for new fridge freezer to arrive- it decided to die a death last week whist full of a big monthly shop- arghhh. Mind you am glad it chose to expire before baby makes an appearance!

DS happily engrossed in posting cds into the video player so i'm MNing!

Had 32 week check this week- midwife said i'm measuring up 36 weeks- eek! looks like another 10lber then On the plus side other than looking obscenely pregnant for dates i'm as fit as a fiddle as yet

Baby also turned round on sunday so no longer breech...and i keep wondering what the strange mild thumpings in my pelvis are- to twig that he keeps getting hiccups! DS used to get them all the time from 32 weeks aswell- i'd forgotten what they are like!! (fairly annoying after a while lol)

Hi all,

jenwa no i checked my hand held notes and the consultant did not fill that in - he's kind of scrawled across the whole page ignoring all the columns (typical bloody doctor!!)

CSWS - you don't have much faith in me do you ?? You've put down c-section on the list when i'm still hanging on to the tiny chance of induction - have you been talking to my dh? he's still going on about 'just have the c-section and accept it' . I know its more than likely i will have to have c-section but made it very real when i saw it on the list...

Right back to scrubbing floors...

is anyone findign that movements/kicks are getting smaller?
my tummy is solid now and i can feel mostly bum i think since she is head down.
i must boast admit that i feel great! have a few twinges in my lower back (more like in bottom)so may be a trapped nerve or wearing 3 inch heeled boots doing no favours!
i have no waddle as yet and bump is still neat though fat has appeared on my arse and thighs, feel like thunder thighs in these leggings! but ds has nightly covered me in his tea and only have 3 pairs of trousers!
he had his hair cut and was given a side parting! he looks like a little school boy now! i dont want him to grow up

Bethoo, You are so lucky not to be waddling and able to wear heels My bump is tiny and very low but I'm waddling like a constipated duck or so Mum tells me. Have SPD and that makes for back/hip pain so probably why. I know the bump is small as I can still wear some pre-pregnancy tops but had to resign myself to maternity trousers 5 weeks ago.

myjobismum, glad your pain has eased and congrats on keeping the weight off. Shame we are supposed to gain about a lb a week now though

32 days. 32 days. Why oh why does that sound so terrifingly close.
I have been getting proper pains since yesterday morning. Nothing regular but different from my usual BH which do not normally hurt! Not sure if it becaus ebaby seems to have dropped alot in the last few days.
I do not want to be the first. I shall leave the drama to Twinkly and LouLou

Wherestheaupair? Another 10lb baby. Good grief how big was your first???

Yazz, Crikey, I remember the platinum crop haircut. Showing my age now.

A shiny new thread- again!!

You all talk way to much or maybe I don't chat enough

Anyway thought I'd say a quick hello.

25 days to go, OMG! Well knowing mine that will be at least 31day to go. I hope not as I have seriously had enough. I can't breath or walk as he just seems to be in my ribs and pelvis all at the same time. I've started on the Rasperry leaf tabs although not sure this is such a wise move as last labour wasonly 3hrs. Oh well might just kick start something a little earlier than others have been.

I'm still not ready though. Vrib still in loft, clothes still need washing and have only just bought a packet of nappies. I'm so unorganised

And as for a name, we're still no closer and it's driving me around the bend.

Well have to get back to the oh so much fun world of housework now. Be back soon. Hope you're all well, Gem x

Ronshar- DS was 10lbs 2oz! am hoping this one will be slightly smaller as I won't be allowed to go til 42 weeks this time round. Midwife disagrees and reckons this one is already term sized . She said my consultant should treat me as if i'm having twins!

Don't know how I make them this big- I blame the father - 6'7! have been really trying to lay off the choc this PG- must be the aloe vera gel!

bethoo- can't believe you can still wear heels- very i've been in flip flops for months now! (and probably stay in them til Oct!)

baby feels like its flicking me in the fanjo today

Just taken ds to open morning in nursery. He starts next week, so will only have one at home in morning which will be strange.

A lovely new thread - just thought I'd post before CSWS culls me!

I was just about to say that I think we've got everything ready for baby bar getting the carseat down from the roof, except then I realised that we've not even started to think about names yet . Mind you, dd was 'baby' for 5 days before we finally decided between our 2 favourite names!!!! Must dig out that baby name book.....

Mainly tired here, though I do hobble around like an old woman in the mornings till my hips unseize! Also stressing about childcare for dd. We were thinking of putting her with a childminder for 2 afternoons a week so I could have some 1 on 1 time with baby (and get some rest?!?) but most of the childminders I left messages with never got back to me and we've still not found anyone with vacancies. I don't really want to wait much longer as I think if we are going ahead with this I want her to be settled well before baby arrives.... May just not bother, but we've no family close and I'm just a little nervous about how I'll cope with 2 all day long (plus dh works really long hrs, especially in Jan and Feb).

Sorry for the moan - compared to other people's news it seems a little trivial! Hope that alls going well with you Twinkly and Loulou...

annwoo I thought you knew something I didn't especially after waking up last night with the most awful pains, kind of like really bad period pains. Hoping it was just BH but it went on for over 30 mins. Eventually I got out of bed and did a bit of a walk around and it seemed to ease off but I barely got a wink of sleep all night. Freaking out that I was going to be early and we truely have very little done so far. Currently I have a borrowed moses basket, still to buy a new mattress for it, a bin bag of clothes given to me by a friend, still to wash and some bits and pieces given to me by friends at a surprise baby shower on Saturday. I know babies do not need much to begin with but this disorganisation is ridiculous for me, I'm usually pretty organised.

Off to a cottage in the country tomorrow for a final few days alone with DH so legs crossed!!

bethoo- I was reading that yesterday- it was cracking me up. I think the most surreal moment was when my mum came to see me (3 days into induction) with lovely fresh food and i was told not to eat as they were going to break my waters to get things moving. So my mum and DH sat in labour suite eating crudites and strawberries as if watching wimbledon. very surreal. I was also convinced that Jade Goody was taking me to pizza express on a london bus whilst high as a kite on pethadine!

I remember the junior doctor coming to explain the risks of a c-section as it was lookgin more likely whilst i was having a contraction and dh and mw were trying to get me to push to avoid said c-section. This junior doctor kept putting the pen in my right hand to get me to sign the consent form and i kept chucking it back at her (i'm left handed AND i was having almost continual contractions). Then she had the cheek to say to me during said contractions 'you're not really listening to me are you? ' WTF!!!! DH very politely and calmly told her to f** off for a bit and that i was left handed - she was not amused!! I then refused to let her put the epidual in and would only let the consultant anaesthetist to it. once he had, i lay down, looked up at him and allegedly said, 'if i could get up now, i'd give you a big snog' oh the things you do when sky high on morphine...

Loulou.. so much activity, a sign that the baby is imminent and your nesting instinct has kicked in maybe?

I've just cleaned every hard washable surface in the house with a lovely lemon disinfectant. The whole house smells so clean and fresh.. don't tell DH or the MW though as I'm on medical advise to rest (shhh!)

During my induction, the MW appeared syringe in hand, in the middle of visiting hours and told me to pop my legs up now, please. She looked surprised when I suggested drawing the curtain first.

i thought pethidine was great as it did nto take away the pain but it was like you were aware of it but it didnt matter! weird. afterwards when they asked to stitch me up i said ''as long as you dont touch my clit'' even high after labour my sex life was important to me!

The only funny thing I remember from DD2 birth is my DH locking himself outside the front door. He had gone to close the window as he thought I was making too much noise and the neighbours would hear! Too much noise, I was on my knees for only 15 mins and he thought it was too bloody loud.
I told the midwife to leave him out there but he was saved by the just in the nick of time arrival of second midwife. She got there just as DDs head was crowning!

Lozza I'm glad you mentioned period type pains I have been getting these for a couple of days. I hope it is not a sign labour is imminenet. I am also about as organsed as you with no clothes ready, no moses basket etc the bed room is still in a undecorated non-carpeted state. I have bought some nappies!

Pethadine made me have really freaky hallucinogenic dreams- my MW said to have some as the ward i was in was packed and loud and i'd get no sleep anyway. Her words were its 'much more fun than sleeping tablets'
being in a busy London hospital there were many freaky characters in that ward anyway so its no wonder I had such a mad night on it. Wierdly, I saw Jade a few months ago and it brought that night back to me in detail!
On the flip side I did spend the following day in tears saying that 'i've given up and want to go home now- this baby's never coming out' (after 4 days of crappy induced labour)

oh god- the memories are coming back now!
